I was banned on this forum twice for copy and paste if not I would ve sent many documents why warri town belongs to Urhobos before any other ethnic groups

Difference Between Warri Kingdom And Warri Town

The word 'Warri' has its origin from Portugal that means it's a foreign name just like Lagos, Port-harcourt, Calabar, New Calabar (Kalabari).
Warri is a Portuguese word like Escravos, Forcados and Ramos. Warri is a word corrupted from a Portuguese Explorer called Aviero. It's pronounced as 'Awiero' . There's a present city in Portugal called Aviero. This same name Aviero gradually metamorphosed into Awyri, Ouerre, Iwere, Warri

This same name Aviero or Iwere was named on the Itsekiri Kingdom called Ode-Itsekiri which was made a developed Kingdom by Ginuwas sons. The tittle ' Olu' which was gotten from the name 'Oba Olua' who was actually the father of Ginuwa.

The King's that ruled over Ode-Itsekiri Kingdom were addressed as Olu of Ode-Itsekiri which was shortened to Olu of Itsekiri or Olu of Iwere. This same Ode-Itsekiri is what is called Iwere or Warri Kingdom!

Not all Itsekiri communities were under Iwere Kingdom for example Ugborodo, Ugbuwangue and Okere Village resisted the so called overlord-ship of the Ode-Itsekiri King until the 20th century. If Ugbuwangue and Okere which are in Warri town were not under the control of the Olu of Ode-Itsekiri, how could Agbarha-ame(Agbassa) an Urhobo community in the same Warri town be under the Ode-Itsekiri King?

Warri Kingdom is also known as Ode-Itsekiri and all Itsekiri communities that surrendered their sovereignty to the king at Ode-Itsekiri while Warri town is an Urhobo town that is demarcated from Ode-Itsekiri by swamps and the Warri River!
This is the truth that they will never say. The answer to the ownership of the parts of Warri lies in the true history of the Itsekiri people, which have been covered with fables, but can be found in the records of the Benin Kingdom! Ask any Itsekiri youth to explain why Otovwodo people sent representatives to the crowning of an Olu,if he will answer! They don't even know their history, which is gradually lost today because they rely on manipulated court victories and fables told by elders, who are supposed to be custodians of history. At what point was the Itsekiri nation born? They don't know. Did the Istekiri nation started with the arrival of the Prince,or he met the Itsekiri people here? They don't know. Why is the people of Ugbuwangwe always disrespectful to the Palace, despite threats? They do not know! Who are the natives that rescued Prince Ginuwa when his boat landed at Ijakpa? They don't know. What is the name of the maternal grandfather of the first Olu? They don't know! Who were the maternal Uncles of Prince Ginuwa that escorted him on his journey in the Great Canoe? They do not know! What are the names of the communities founded by the uncles of Prince Ginuwa? They do not know! I thank God that I am an Okpe from the Orhorho royal lineage, and our family history is cherished and protected from those who chose to rewrite history, otherwise,Sapele would have been lost, just like most Okere-Urhobo and Ogbe-Ijaw lands!

You are deceiving yourself.
So because they don't pay rents again the land automatically belongs to them?
So Ibos that bought land in Lagos will claim ownership of land will Aworis, Egbas and Ijebus?
This is the joke.
As for archives, I propose we use judicial archives as it more acceptable (to sane people) and undeniable.
Here I come with judicial archives all the way from Warri high court to the Privy council in London.
You go tire today.

Please,I will advice you to go and ask the oldest man in your community to tell you how Chief Dore sold lands belonging to both the Agbarha and Itsekiri people, because you are obviously out of touch with reality! Perhaps, you are too young to remember how the Olu's coronation anniversary was celebrated in Warri until the convoy was blocked at Ginuwa Junction, off Warri Sapele road, and all hell was broke lose! I was at the late Chief T.J. Sokoh's residence and watched the entire drama, which was the beginning of the Warri crisis. For all the so called vaunted Supreme Court victories, can you mention when was the last time that an Itsekiri boat regatta convoy crossed the NPA Expressway to Ibo Market, not to talk of crossing Okere Market? It is this type of asinine mentality that is making the Itsekiri race to now become a slave to the foreigners that they welcomed into Chevron Nigeria Limited,at the expense of their Ijaw and Urhobo brothers. They are now begging and protesting for regularisation of trained Itsekiri youth! Go to Oleri and Dibi fields and see non-Niger Deltans bouncing all over the place as engineers while Itsekiri graduates are patrolling the streets! Can they try that with the Ijaws?
For the records, during his presentation before the panel setup up to look into the first Warri crisis, the late Oroseun,Chief B.O. Okumagba aka "dry meat when dey full mouth" brought land documents of the current palace of the Olu at Ajamimogha, and averred that his family sold the piece of land where the palace was built,a claim that went unchallenged! He asked that the panel should mention a single kingdom anywhere in the world where land meant for the palace of a king is purchased from a tenant! He furthered asked the panel to ask the Olu to point the grave yard of any of his ancestor in Warri Metropolis,if he can! He said that he can point the graves of his lineage up to the grave of his father,Chief Eboh inside Warri Metropolis! As for court cases, I will advice you to seek out the profile of the Justices and check out their links to the Itsekiri people! When the Itsekiri people tried to test the resolve of the Okpe people by claiming Urhiapele which the British renamed SAPELE,why not mention how the case ended at the same Supreme Court when the Okpe people matched them with fire for fire, and connection for connection? Is it not a Nigerian court that said that James Ibori is not an ex-convict when the judge at the Bwari High Court,Abuja and the policemen attached to the court, all testified that they were present when he was convicted? Is it not a Nigerian court that said that Ibori was not an ex-convict when even a BBC documentary was aired with evidence of his conviction in UK? Na today na him yansh start to dey for back? Hisses and walk out of this thread!

This is a very good post. It is important to properly make the distinction between Warri City and Warri Kingdom (Iwere). Many people seem to mistake one for the other. Most of the modern day Warri City is in Urhoboland with parts of Itsekiriland. Iwere (Warri Kingdom) covers not even Warri City (apart from Itsekiri parts) but all of Itsekiriland including areas not within Warri City.

Watch this space. It may be modified with more information.

Before people turn this thread into a tribal war, I want to ask a couple of simple questions. Who is the father of Prince Ginuwa, the first Olu? Who is the mother? She is an Urhobo, and daugher of Chief Obahor, who went to Benin to seek the favour of the Oba to be crowned as an Ovie! If the mother of the first Olu is an Urhobo,it put paid to all the so called scholars who are trying too hard to rewrite history! It is on record that representatives of the Otovwodo clan are always present whenever an Olu is crowned until the ascent of Atuwatse II,whose reign plunged the town into warfare! I thank God for the current Olu, Olu Ikenwoli I,who knows the history of his people, and declared that he will not support any continued warfare or pay the legal fees of any case against his neighbours. It is on record that he has visited every single Urhobo monarch in Delta State, likewise the Ijaws! So,I shake my head when I read the comments of misguided fellows without an iota of history, and played into the hands of unscrupulous and diabolical tribal warlords!

And you flap your mouth too much mister. By the way, I work for a Gas company.. And probably have first hand information about how fundings works in the Nigerian oil n gas sector than what is publicly available..and i doubt you travel as much as i do. So before you come to an uninformed conclusion about me, ask questions and I will gladly obliged you.

Back to the topic, chevron n co will sell gases to anyone that will pay for it (common business logic). IPPs are usually built in partnership with private investors n purely not solely run by the govt.
So if there are no investors willing to partner with the govt to create the IPPs then the questions we should be asking are: "what incentives can be used in bringing them in?" Will the notorious youths around there allow the IPPs to build their plants without collecting bribes for every milestones?

I repeat again, Lagos does not produce gas in it's backyard and still buys gas to power its IPPs. SS region that produces should not have a problem negotiating with the gas companies to supply power plants at a cheaper price considering that most of the gas produced are flared.

Moreover, I get irked when people like you that should be holding the govt of your state responsible are the ones cuddling them and making excuses for them.

I do not believe in online rants! Do you have more data at your finger tips than the Upstream Department of the Warri Field Office of the Department of Petroleum Resources? How many gas fields in Nigeria have you seen their data in your life? You work in a gas company! Is it NLNG, SNEPCO,Total, or ExxonMobil or those ragtag companies that are producing from marginal fields? I know more than enough gatemen that work at the Nigerian Gas Company HQ at Ekpan. Please name the oil block that belongs to your company and I will give you the breakdown of their daily production for the past five years within seconds! This is how people will hide behind their monikers and give misleading information. For your information,I don't claim to know about the oil industry because I use a Billy Pugh or a helicopter to go for Rig inspections for license renewal, but I am a qualified petroleum engineer with double degrees in Petroleum Engineering Technology and Natural Gas Technology, and going for a third degree at the OMV International Petroleum Academy,Austria. So,save your pipe dreams for those who have never stepped their foot outside Lagos! Have you ever worked at Bonny,Amatu, Forcados,Eket,Utorogun,Soku, or Ugborodo before and seen what is happening in the Niger Delta? I will advise you to go and sit at the feet of your betters at the so-called fart company that you work, and ask questions about the petroleum industry, before running naked in cyberspace. Go and read about the Nigerian Gas Masterplan! Opinion is free but facts are sacred!Auf wiedersehen.

That was also my initial thought when I first saw the headline until I saw the location of the story. It was confirmed as legit by my sister who is living in that neighbourhood in Effurun,Delta State because she confirmed that the woman has been married for about 50 years! Can anyone argue about the date of a marriage that was celebrated in public?

Tears of joy and jubilation filled the air after a 70-Year-Old woman allegedly gave birth to a bouncing baby boy as her first child in Alegbo, Warri Delta state. According to Nikoro Efe Terry, the woman had been pregnant for 7 years before she finally delivered the baby.

He wrote: The lord has done a marvelous work again in her life , she is 70+ and she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl as her first issues, lord you are great , God promises to his children are concrete just believe in him and you will see his wondrous work in yur life at the appointed time

Source: http://www.cambellsblog.com/2017/07/70-year-old-woman-gives-birth-after.html

@OP,I was told by my elder sister who live in that neighbourhood, that she was actually 62years,not 70 years. She also confirmed that she was pregnant for the past 7 years and have been married for 50 years, and also said that everyone in the area was aware of her condition!
@all, It is not a rumour but confirmed story because I just asked my sister, who confirmed the story that she gave birth to a girl. Anyone in Warri that knows Alegbo, can confirm that a telecom mast is close to the Community School. Her building used to be close to the mast. The story is legit.

So are you saying a whole state government cannot build and source for gas for small power plants called IPPs or seek partnerships with companies that can help build n operate with all the Billon's they get monthly? For example, there are several IPPs in Lagos and if I remember right, Lagos does not even produce gas but the power plants are working....SMH
Are you living on the moon or on earth? Name a single IPP company in the entire South South! The NLNG trains at Bonny belongs to who,and was built for what purpose? Do you expect Chevron to sell their gas after building the biggest gas tankfarm in subsaharan Africa at Ugborodo or do you expect the biggest gas gathering in West Africa at SPDC station,Utorogun to divert their supplies to a govt plant? I will advice you to travel and read widely about the energy sector. Gas engineering goes beyond your textbooks. This is how people will sit at home and make uninformed comments on issues beyond their ken.

@ OP, a oil reservoir do not dry up. Rather, the OPEX and CAPEX increases due to the Stimulation operations or installation of downhole accessories to improve oil recovery! Correct the title because it is wrong and Kachuwku is too knowledgeable to make such a lame remark, which he did not make in his speech!

They are waiting for the FG to do it for them.
Access to which gas? Is petroleum an equivalent of pipe borne water that is available in every house? Can you name a single oil block that was awarded to any Niger Deltan State since 1999? Mind you, Adenuga has six oil blocks! You expect the Delta State Govt to steal gas from Chevron Tankfarm, Wike to steal gas from the NLNG trains at Bonny, or the Akwa Ibom govt to steal gas from Mobil Tankfarm,Eket? Please,I will be glad if you can mention the river that flows with natural gas in the Niger Delta so that we will form our own power consortium and use it to power turbines! SMH

Omoni me! Mevwe ohwo r'Okpara o! Mavor? Urhu vor oyin vwon nurhe?

Don't take this theory too serious. Ihwo r'Urhobo vren no vi Aka oke r'Ogiso! Urhobos are from Benin, specifically Udo, and we left in different waves. Avwraka (Abraka) was the last clan to leave Benin, at the time of Oba Egbeka.

Urhobos have no Igbo connection as well, like you hinted. However, many Urhobo migrants passed through Igboland on their way to our present locale and we picked up one or two things from them as they too picked from us. Apart from that, some Urhobo communities share borders with Ukwuani towns and picked up some things from them, as they did from us as well.

So, Oniovo, do not take this piece too serious.
I have read from different sources and heard with my ears and confirmed it from my late grandfather, who was a friend and neighbour with the late Midwest politician,Chief Jereton Marierie, that the people of Evwereni are actually descendants of settlers from Awka, not Benin or Egypt.

Like the leader of EFF,Malema said during the African Day celebration in South Africa, everybody comes from somewhere.Recently,a top Chinese scientist shocked the nation when he said that the Chinese are descendants of ancient Egypt. He did carbon dating and also tested the mineralogical composition of the most ancient artifacts found in China. The result showed that the ores were alien to Asia, and were consistent with those made around that period in Egypt, and were produced using the same smelting technique! There were references in ancient Chinese poems about mountains that can not be found in China but in the Sinai Penisula. When the Chinese President last visited Egypt,he mentioned a Kemetic adage: He who drinks from the Nile, will always return! Last year, Egyptian hieroglyphs were found carved in the Australian outbacks, and was confirmed as genuine! There are records of Africans who were great lords and landowners in Scotland and Ireland. Even the official coat of arms of the current British Royal Dynasty bears the profile of an African! A simple study of all African tribal history always mention migration.
The Urhobo have never been a single people, with regards to the time of settling. There have always been waves of settlers all over the Delta, and no record of a single people moving towards the south. For example, there are claims that the people of Evwreni were descendants of settlers from Awka, who intermarried. Even if recent history says that there were several migrations out of Benin, led by several Princes and chiefs, the question still remains, where does the Benin people come from. If it is Egypt, then, where did the ancient Egyptians and Nubians come from?
So,the question never ends. So,don't wave any story away as fanciful or absurd, until it has been checked! Just my two pence! Okpe Agbamu eni!

What if you have an uncle there? Is there anyway he can help with processing it if you have your transcript, WAEC and bsc certificate? Reply pls
The only help that your "uncle" can give you is to send an EVE to cover the need for a bank statement, and a house contract to cover the need for a letter proving a secured/reserved place of accommodation!
Apart from that, you are on your own because every document emanating from Nigeria must be validated by the Ministry of Education ( all educational documents), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Austrian Consulate,Abuja.
Don't get it twisted because the rules is different compared to the UK and US authorities!
