BusinessRe: Rich Nigerians: Why Are You Not Patronizing Tinapa? by Mariory(m): 3:41am On Jul 01, 2011
I am going to try to break it down for you cause I sense this thread is going off course.

Tinapa = Business resort targeted at wealthy Nigerians.

Why do you keep talking about an international airport and why are Customs refusing to allow Tinapa businesses to use the Sea Port?
BusinessRe: Rich Nigerians: Why Are You Not Patronizing Tinapa? by Mariory(m): 3:27am On Jul 01, 2011
Seriously alj_harem, what are you blabbing about? Of what use is another Federal airport going to be when the Federal seaport is off limits to the businesses that will bring in the people for shopping.
Pleep, a state airport is not enough for tourist places tinapa

take a look at countries that have big projects or tourist places, it is always done in there capital or cities with int airport before they can reap the full potential of there investment ( in this case tourism )

france - paris- disney world

england- london - millioum tower, eye of london

etc

you see my friend, int- airport has a lot to do with toruiom and making the best from projects like tinapa

take a look at 6 flags in phladepha usa, it is close to new york and thus they can make money of it

now tell me, is it some one that is in abuja, sokoto, niger, kwara, warri etc that will get a 15000 naira plane to calabar just for tinapa ( which is more or less like a shopping mall)

would u do that when u can go to a near by market

or would u do that after u landed in abuja or lagos
And what about Port-Harcourt airport? What do you have to say to that?

pleep:
@Mariory you must mean not opening the federal port to the state gov? Yea thats a pretty big blow to the whole thing. lol just imagine, cross river state not even alowed to use its own sea port. smh.
Yeah that's what I was referring to when I said "the Federals killed it". I had such high hopes for Tinapa too. Tinapa could have vastly expanded tourism income for Cross River/Nigeria. *Sigh*

@kcjazz
Yes they have a website. Yes they did build in phases. Yes they carried out massive advertising. I still believe that Customs service killed it.

The Federals (Customs) killed Tinapa for whatever reason.

God help me. It rained this morning and the water is back up where it was. I need prayers. I dont want my house to be flooded. Though i am not on the first floor but the compound can get flooded.
Err first floor or ground floor? If you're on the first floor your property should be completely safe unless the rain causes a natural disaster (Flash Flood).
PoliticsAfrican Nation, Group, Or Individual Trying To Buy Uranium by Mariory(op): 9:08am On Jun 30, 2011
Moldovan police have arrested six people suspected of trying to sell a type of uranium that can be used in nuclear weapons.

Those held wanted to sell more than 1kg (2.2lb) of uranium-235 with a value of at least $20m (14m euros; £12m), an official said.

The were conflicting reports as to whether the men were accused of trying to sell the uranium to an African country, or to an African national

. . .

Uranium-238 is the most commonly found, naturally occurring form of the substance.

The type needed for nuclear fuel and weapons is the less common uranium-235.

"The container with uranium has been in Chisinau for a week," said Mr Briceag. "All that time intermediaries were looking for buyers. The container, 20cm [8in] long and 40cm [16in] in diameter, was found at one of the detained men's apartments."

. . .

The Associated Press quoted Mr Briceag as saying the uranium had come from Russia and the suspects were trying to sell it to a North African country.

But other reports cited Mr Briceag as saying the men wanted to sell the uranium to a Muslim citizen of an unnamed African state.

It was not clear to what level the uranium was enriched

Is the Poo about to hit the fan? What if it was Boko Haram or some other Nigerian extremist group trying to buy this type of Uranium?

Half the police force should be dismissed then. THey should announce on TV that we (the people of Nigeria/Lagos state) should start writting down the name and number on the police uniform of cops that take bribe on our roads. And publish on their website maybe with picture proofs too. I'm waiting for that day!
There is nothing stopping you from doing that now.

The quality of debate on NL is quite interesting but predictable. Predictable in the sense that most analyst argue base on some premodial sentiment of ethnicity and religion. Throwing objectivity to the bin. This trend if allow to continue will not augur well for our dear nation because most members of NL are youth who will take over from the crop of our present leaders, what then should we expect then. Is high time we have a rethink so as to make our country great. Long live Nigeria

Word of advice Davidlyn, You beating your head against a stone wall. These guy can not think objectively. they are driven by pseudo revolutionary thinking that frames and fuels their dogmatic expressions.

What continues to baffle me is the hyprocrisy of living  in and paying taxes to these same system and states in the guise of so called rights  of freedom of speech accorded them.

Come back home to the continent and fight the evil empire system face to face instead of through a computer screen locked up in a 40 square foot london apartment. If you can't do anyting to fix a problem stop blabbing about it and do something

So much for courage!

If this was a Lagos state thread it would be on the front page and people from SW, NW, NE, SE, SS, and some foreigners would be on the thread. . .interesting. . .

The answer to the question is simple. No need to make unnecessary noise about it. The people who voted in the SW region delivered the SW to Jonathan.

It's not that complicated.
