Singapore is not doing well because it split from the FOM. It is doing well just like Malaysia because both countries had good progressive governments.

Since we seem to have adopted the US model of Federal states in Nigeria we should correctly apply the model and take more power from the centre to give it to the states. Disintegration is not the answer.

Don't get me wrong though as I'm not trying to say that "multi-culture" societies work. The culture of the majority will always be predominant.

Even if we were to humour your ideology, what about the fact that the whole of West Africa is looking to integrate through ECOWAS? What is going to be the point in disintegration and the gigantic mess that will cause only for us to reintegrate with the rest of West Africa a few years down the line?

If you do not cater to the poor, you get problems and that is why it makes sense to deal with that which concerns the poor, even as you deal with that which concerns the rich/investors/businessmen etc.

My question still waits to be answered. For all your grandstanding and protraying yourself as a "champion" for the poor. What would you actually do to help the millions of poor in Lagos. At the very least make suggestions since the current programme in Lagos State is not adequate in your opinion.

This is actually not a bad bussiness idea. Becomrich don't let some on here who couldn't think of it first discourage you. Take it as far as you can go.

Lagos state is a state with a current population of about 18% with over 90% of that still poor. Unless you are going to follow the above by stating the plan is to kick out all poor people and replace them with the uber rich, may I suggest we stick to reality. Sure, Lagos can be conducive to investors, merchants and well educated professionals but at the same time deal fairly with the poor by making sure they are made a part of the society and cared for as well. It should not be either one or the other. Not in today's world. 
I don't know what your answer there is but again, most every successful state in the world today makes sure to not only provide for the rich but cater to the poor in the same society.

Can you suggest how Lagos can achieve this? You have said free housing is not on the cards. So can you suggest how Lagos is to provide housing for the poor when the poor have no way to pay for said housing. Can you suggest where the money comes from and how it should be managed so it isn't lost like almost every other project in Nigeria as a whole. You talk the talk but, can you walk the walk?

You keep asking people to stick to reality, yet it is you that is living in fantasy land. The majority of people will happily have a home/village/town/city/state/country/world that is as close to utopia as humanly possible. However due to the state of Nigeria, Africa, and developing nations as a whole this is not possible. One should also mention that most developed cities in the West and East were once in a state that Lagos is in.

1 more gold medal and we could move ahead of South Africa into 5th and be the top African team.

Well Mr Mariory I am aware of the econiums showered upon the regime which is all well and good.

However playing the advocate of some left-wingers here I can see how the mere fact that the regime has been awarding so many contracts for things which should be properly initiated by the private sector, would give the poor man the impression that Fashola's Government has money to burn.

What I am saying is that things like electric power generation, transport rolling stock,  water transport, shopping complexes and the like should properly be left to the private sector.

It also raises the ancilliary question as to how Fashola is funding these mega projects and what is the exact state of Lagos State finances

Most of these projects that you speak of being done in partnership with the private sector. The state government definitely does not have the finances to provide these projets alone and the private sector in most cases do not want to take 100% risk by going it alone in a country like Nigeria.

Thay have not done all this excellently well and yet some people here expect them to provide housing which really is the job of the private sector. And maybe to run welfare services for the poor even when their finances are nothing to write home about.

I am of the belief that the people of Lagos are aware. Despite the obvious and expected frustrations in the streets of Lagos and Nigeria as a whole, the majority of the Lagosians are aware Fashola's government is doing quite well under the circumstances. Do not let the opinions of a few people on the internet who don't even live in Lagos make you think otherwise.

So in all the questions I asked you, you couldn't see projects that "will help the poor and unemployed" as you put it? If you couldn't see that, then there is no point.

The real question is what makes them MORE credible? NTA is cack. BBC is more often than not leftist. I do not watch CNN or FRANCE-24. Anyone who thinks a news station (Aljazeera) that gets about 60% of it's funding from a private source (Emir of Qatar) is unbiased or is publishing strictly genunie news is quite frankly clueless.

when you look at Cardiff a second division clubs new stadium that's similar in size but took around 2 years to complete at  next to nothing ($48m) and could be increased to 50k capacity,  compared something that looks like an open bowl (they dont build those type of stadiums anymore) which represent a cash cow for politicians

When you have the Abuja stadium that cost $360m a 60k capacity and the Millenium stadium in Wales at the cost of $121m at 75k capacity and could have its roof closed off for indoor events you would think someone owes us some serious change?

Both stadiums were built with different features. When comparing stadiums price wise and capacity wise, you need to take into account the reasons for the stadiums being built.
