If I wanted to buy it online or elsewhere, I'd have done that. I want to see what you have, not some random picture online. I hope you do understand. You should do that for all your threads. It makes your offers more realistic and believable.

Okay great... I just have a few more questions:

1. How long does the battery last? I do a lot of work on the go so I want something that wont quit on me in the middle of work.

2. Do you have the receipts and proof of ownership? Can you also do a transfer of ownership? Sorry don't mean to be a harda**. Just doing my due diligence.

3 I can offer you 45k for this. Only issue is I'm in IB. How can I get it here?

Please let me know. Cheers.

Who is this now? Guess you're one of those people who think marriage is the solution to everything. If the time was right, don't you think I would have done that? And even if we were to get married, what's to say that work won't take her out of the state and we'd still have to deal with the distance? All these marriage-marriage people sef. As if that's the solution.

True @ the bolded. It's staying "sane" until you see that person that's the difficult part smiley

Yes sir, it will. A well rounded individual -male or female- is fantastic company anytime and will always fascinate you. smiley. And developing a well rounded personality often requires doing the aforementioned.

Romance / Re: How Do You Deal With Overwhelming Loneliness in A Long Distance Relationship? by markpenk: 8:13pm On Jan 04, 2015
Hmm... you've got a point. But for a guy who's already "played the field" before finding this wonderful person, I don't think it would. Sure, the temptation will be there, but because I know what I've got, I'm less likely to mess up.
pasqal09:

I'm not saying its bad but sometimes, too much of this can add to the rift you know. You could meet someone who could make you forget him totally.

Won't this endanger the relationship?
Romance / Re: How Do You Deal With Overwhelming Loneliness in A Long Distance Relationship? by markpenk: 8:09pm On Jan 04, 2015
Good point, but that's not my problem. Like I said earlier, there's no problem with doing things that give me joy. In fact, I'm a firm believer in "measured/timed space" between two people. Helps you catch your breath and recharge, otherwise, you'd just end up "suffocating" each other. So, hobbies, "extracurriculars" and other stuff that a guy needs to live a full life are already taken care of, in my case. Believe me, I've got a list of hobbies/activities after work every day that'll leave you exhausted grin. So, I'm pretty certain that it's not because I'm bored or anything like that.

Zeemoor:
One problem with people in LDR is we get so caught up in maintaining our relationships that we forget about ourselves
We drift away from friends and loved ones
~
I'd advice you take some time away to focus on yourself and things you love to do- be it hanging out with friends or pampering yourself in whatever way you know how to
Have some fun outside of the relationship, nurture your social ties
Romance / Re: How Do You Deal With Overwhelming Loneliness in A Long Distance Relationship? by markpenk: 7:07pm On Jan 04, 2015
@ the bolded... interesting. But like I said earlier, calls (video and phone) are pretty much the norm. Still isn't doing it.
MzNelly:
Skype, call regularly, stuff like that.

Loneliness is inevitable; just keep close.
Romance / How Do You Deal With Overwhelming Loneliness in A Long Distance Relationship? by markpenk: 6:35pm On Jan 04, 2015
Before y'all say "don't get in a long distance relationship in the first place", let's be honest, stuff happens. People get transferred, move to a different city, have to be away because of family... and so on. Now it would be easy to just end that relationship if what you had with the person wasnt real. But, when it's the real deal, it can be pretty tough to just let go.

Now this is my question: How do you deal with that sometimes overwhelming feeling of loneliness when you're in a long distance relationship? That sh*t can get very real very fast.

Please note that all the other options like hanging out with friends, getting busy, staying in touch with each other (talking to each other 2-3 times a day for at least 20 minutes each time) and seeing at least once a month have been explored.

Matured and reasonable advice please... preferably from people who have experienced or are in a similar situation/relationship.

Culture / Re: Sleepless Ordeals Of Nigerians.. by markpenk: 10:16pm On Dec 30, 2014
Naija my fatherland. In spite of all these, we still love and celebrate this country. If you can survive all these, you will survive anywhere. These "hardships" are the reason naija boys can work three jobs a day in the US, sleep for 3 hours, attend night school and still graduate in the top 20 of their class. It's the reason we're beating everyone right, left and center in school.

To buttress this point, a friend went to Aberdeen and was studying with fellow Nigerians late at night when their prof walked into the library. Upon seeing them, he said "let me guess, nigerian students, yes?" And the guys answered in the affirmative. Then he went ahead to tell them that they should relax, party and rest instead of burning the midnight oil. When he left, my guy and his friends just turned to each other, started laughing and said "this one no know as e dey go. If na community contribution or money from pepper and salt dem take send you come hia, you no go talk say make we party".

And my friend and his guys? They finished in the top 15 out of a class of over 70 people right behind some of those crazy asians -and these boys had no background in finance like most of the asians did, imagine what would have happened if they did- and had some companies headhunt them on graduation day. The whiteys wey dey party? Most of them no even enter top 30. Go figure.

There's no better "training ground" than my country. Naija I hail thee. God Bless Nigeria and PH.

Congrats bro... More power to your elbow and more grace to crown your efforts.... If you don't mind, I have a quick question for you? How much did it cost to build this including the land and all? You don't have to be specific or give me a ballpark figure. Just a price range will do. This way, people like us can start planning. Cheers man and congrats again. It's not easy.

Interesting... been thinking about this for a while now. Why would I want to get a ph.d? Is it because of my desire for accomplishments, my quest for knowledge in business and leadership or simply because I like the sound/looks of Dr. in front of my name? Hmmm... food for thought. Thanks OP. This has got me thinking more about why I should get a ph.d

Politics / Re: Nigerian-american Professionals Endorse Jonathan For Second Term by markpenk: 8:54am On Dec 28, 2014
@ the bolded, it's interesting the things people so disconnected from the reality of things here would do for some chicken change and "recognition" thrown their way by the present govt. I'm not saying that Jonathan is a bad person. But to say he has strong leadership skills? Ha! That's a joke. These people sha.
lalasticlala:
The Nigerian community in the U.S., under the aegis of the Association of Nigerian American Professionals (ANAP), has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid.

This was contained in a statement by ANAP National Chairman, Dr Iheanacho Orabuchi, which was e-mailed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday.

It said that Jonathan was the best candidate owing to the strong leadership qualities he possessed.

“We strongly believe that President Jonathan is the best candidate for Nigeria at this time and he has been tested and has the leadership qualities to lead Nigeria to the next level.

“A case in point is Jonathan’s recent leadership in curbing Ebola that prompted the World Health Organisation (WHO) to declare Nigeria “Ebola free’’, the statement said.

It said that the country could not afford to elect an inexperienced and undemocratic individual, who lacked democratic principles to direct the affairs of Nigeria.

The statement said that in spite of sabotage, the president’s transformational agenda and Vision 2020 had truly transformed the country’s economy.

“Various international rating agencies have rated the Nigeria’s economic outlook from stable to positive and this was possible because Jonathan has the vision and the people capable of executing his programmes with fidelity.

“Under his administration, Nigeria’s GDP grew consistently to register a record growth since last quarter of 2010.

“While placing the country to be the fourth fastest growing economy in the world in 2011, based on the improvement of economic indices of Nigeria, Fitch Rating Agency revised Nigeria’s economic outlook to stable.

“Also, Standard and Poor’s, a rating agency, generously revised Nigeria's ratings from stable to positive.

“Recently, Jim O’Neill, a former Chairman, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a consulting firm, said that Nigeria will be among the list of the 15 largest economies by 2050,’’ it said.

According to the statement, other noticeable reforms and policies have yielded results that warrant Nigerians to take a second look on Nigeria as an investment heaven.
It said that the signing into law of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Bill 2010 had increased local content in the sector.

“The President’s policies have elevated the country and we are proud of his achievements,’’ it said.

The statement said that over 2, 000 Nigerians had benefitted from the Youth Enterprise with innovation in Nigeria (YOUWIN) initiative launched few years ago.
The statement said that another giant gain of Jonathan’s administration was the vision that led to power sector deregulation and privatisation.

It said that in future, sufficient and uninterrupted power supply would be achieved as the president’s policies continued to address and rectify the poor state of the country's power transmission network.

“The implementation of the power sector reforms is being religiously and efficiently carried out under the leadership of the president to achieve sufficiency in power supply", they said.

According to the statement, this will spur sustainable industrialisation.

And the first of the many year-end naysayers spouts his rubbish. All these "prophets" with their doom and gloom. There's no coherence in what he's saying at all. First, it's there won't be an election. Next thing, there might be, but it'll be inconclusive. Oh and don't forget the assassinations between "now and january" when january is just a few days away. Why do these people keep making a mockery of themselves? Speculations and prophecies are two entirely different things. Just because you mount a podium an address a congregation doesn't make you a "prophet". You can share your thoughts on events and possible outcomes, that's fine. No one will crucify you. But to drag God into your charade, that's something else. No wonder the scriptures say that there will be many false prophets in the last days

Bruv... if only. Our leaders' mental lethargy isn't because they lack what it takes, it's just because their bellies are too full. If they had more motivation, we wouldn't be in this mess. There's a saying that a real man always sees the signs. Nothing happens to him suddenly. These guys saw it coming, yet they did nothing.
