I think they meant to write "2017/2018" because the article is dated 2017.
No, it's recent. I was on the site on Friday and Saturday and that wasn't there then. It's a new information. They've turned their focus to PTDF scholars now

Wow, I can remember someone saying in Part 5 that appointment booking will end mid July based on what the consular General said in a German educational fair he attended and he was trolled.

Here we go...

This is tricky for me, I'll rather have honourableseyi, Berliner1 doplaz or eke40seven touch on this

Hello try and search Daad website very well, from what you have typed you haven't done a thorough search but a lazy search. Take your time and use both Google, Daad and Mastersportal for your search. You will get a good result.
Lol, imagine him saying he didn't get anything tangible from DAAD. That's the best search tool to shortlist German universities. After shortlisting universities, visit their respective course websites and get all the info you need from there.

Hello Good friends,

I sincerely need your candid advice in this my situation:
I am going for another B.Sc in Germany which is closely related to the B.Sc I had already attained in Nigeria.
I have not heard from the M.Sc applications I made.
I got a B.Sc admission yesterday and I planned to proceed with it.

my challenge is that our family friend who suppose to provide Sponsorship letter is objecting.

he said that since the B.Sc I had in Nigeria is OK (2.1) and also considering my age (36) that embassy may deny me visa.

I have been reading this thread and I don't know if he is right.

please has anyone in my situation successfully gotten A.M with SL?
You may still be granted visa, although your case screams *desperation* which is not good for visa application. Your GPA is good also, you are not switching fields so there is no logical explanation as to why you should want a second undergraduate degree.

Even if you were granted visa, spending 3 years on similar degree is unnecessary and seems like a waste of time. Wait for your admission and if possible defer it to Summer intake.

@Marocruz @justwise and other gurus

Pls, my programme in Hannover is just BTW September 3 to December 20 and that's less than 3 months . And I'm to do my second semester in a partner university abroad .

My question is this , is it student permit I will apply for or just visitors visa .... considering the short duration of my course in Germany . Pls help me.

Cuz I am aware that Canada dont issue TRV (but another type of visa)for students going for courses of less than 6 months.

I would like to know if Germany have a similar thing

Someone pls come to my rescue
Which kind of programme are you going for at Hannover?

Marocruz, pls, I don't understand this information above. when booking appointment, does one inlude motivation letter again ? I think it's on the day of interview that motivation letter comes in .

Pls, someone help with clarity on the issue of booking in Abuja and Lagos Pls. ...
What he's trying to say is, If you claim Abuja as your location, you should be consistent with it during your visa process, i.e your CV, prepaid courier envelope should be consistent with a valid Abuja address, as opposed to going for the visa interview with your docs bearing Lagos address
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by MaroCruz(m): 1:15pm On Jun 30, 2018
dailydolar:
not true two of my friends got abuja for interview and their admission letter has Ibadan address so its not about your admission letter address but make sure you have verifiable abuja address and u should also use that for your motivation letter simple
And they got this appointment when?? You should shed more light on this, since people are likely to follow your statement.

We've all witnessed on this thread that the Abuja trick is no longer working of recent, people who used Abuja as their location while having Lagos on their admission letter have been delayed and in the end given Lagos, some were even ignored.

2 weeks away? How sure are you about this?
According to people who booked with Abuja on this platform
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by MaroCruz(m): 11:44pm On Jun 29, 2018
Azdof:
Is there a special way to book for Abuja appointment? Or if you have an Abuja Address on your acceptance letter, you automatically get an Abuja interview date.
You state your location in your appointment booking mail. If you claim you reside in Abuja and the address in your acceptance/admission letter doesn't correspond to the acclaimed Abuja address, they're likely to ignore your application

Gurus please I need your advice as to the right answer to give to what I want to write below....

I applied for an M.Sc program in International Economics and Management ....rather the school gave me a Letter of acceptance for a transition enrollment as a student in a bachelors program "Business Administration and Economics"...but the conditions guiding the transition program,

*With the transition programm I would be able to register exams needed to complete the admission requirement for the masters programme in "International Economics and Management"..and having successfully completing the programs I would be admitted as a graduate of International Economics and Management.

* After successfully completing the transition programme ..it would not affect my existing degree or GPA...and I would not be given any certificate degree in Business Administration and Economics...and this program is just for a semester after which successfully completing I would be admitted as a graduate.

And why I was ask to do the transition program is for me to complete a particular course needed for the completion of the master program...although GPA, Total number of credit bachelor's degree, total number of credit in Economics and Management and bachelor's thesis have been met.

the question I want to ask Gurus............if been ask by the VO what program am I going for... should I tell her i am going for masters and not bsc.....although on my acceptance letter .....transition erollment in a bachelor program "business admimistration and economics.....which allows me to register for exam needed for my masters ....and it becomes effect after a semester..............please I need advice as to the right answer to give.

Thanks.
You're going for a masters program still. You only have to explain that it's a conditional offer that requires taking undergraduate modules that you didn't cover during your B.sc

Pls , how do u book for appointment with Abuja address ?

I'm to resume September 15 and I already booked with my printed email notification of admission, passport data page and finitiba account opening. I sent the mail to student@lago.diplo.de since Tuesday and I haven't gotten any response. Someone should pls make me understand
Most times they don't reply to incorrect mails. You should request an acceptance letter from your school to use and pursue visa. If the acceptance letter doesn't carry a Lagos address, it'll be easier to book for Abuja appointment.

Please I need help. I applied for a winter semester course and considering how difficult it is to get interview appointments during this period. I was considering my option in applying for a student applicant visa, which allows you apply for a short term visa. I am not sure if this is applicable for Nigerian applicants but they said it could be done in the uni-assist confirmation letter. Please who knows about this? danke!
It is not applicable to Nigeria. The German Embassy doesn't give Student Applicant Visa here in Nigeria

My 1cent. ...when u are asking for visa interview date, tell them to give u the earliest possible date because u will like to attend the orientation....It worked for me, so try it
It actually has no effect since it's a first come, first serve booking system. So if you apply, you get the earliest available booking slot, with the exception of the Sept 20th slot which was allocated to others having been skipped before.

Normally, those booking for appointment with Abuja address get dates about 2 weeks away, unlike Lagos which you get dates 2-3 months away

Plz I need clarification
If a school asks for certified copies of your documents does it mean they want to grant you admission.. Thank you
Not at all, it means they want to be sure of the authenticity of your documents.

It'll be better to go to the HQ, since the branch will still forward the application there for final authorization.

Thanks a lot, does it make sense if i apply during the summer or wait till winter 2019?

Because of appointment booking when I eventually get admission?

Sorry I'm quite new at this cry
To apply for winter 2019, Start monitoring schools as from Dec 2018/ Jan 2019, Although many school's application won't have started by then, but few schools would have started receiving applications by then. E.g RWTH Aachen, University of Stutggart.

Also inform yourself of schools that require VPD from uni-assist so you can start the process as early as possible as from Jan 2019. Also, ensure you apply to at least 3 schools, endeavour that one of the schools should be one that gives admission early, so as not to be affected by late appointment dates.

You can use DAAD to shortlist the schools that you intend to look out for.

Pls what exchange rate is bank giving with the form A, is it cheaper than the rate on abokifx.com?
At the bank, the account official said they'll use a PTA rate of #421 to fund the block acct.

I've decided to use Dorm acct to fund since the bank (Fidelity) said they can't fund the blocked acct beyond $5,000 (4,300 EUR), hence, what's the point? Moreover Abokifx rate today is 421/EUR, So I'll buy from a BDC to my dorm acct and fund the blocked acct.

OK sir if you say related but I applied to chemistry check very well I didn't get the schorlaship anyway but I even saw many other MSC. Well I didn't hear from them so.may be I will even log in and check the portal again. Please people that apply did you receive any mail from them once accepted huh
Chemistry is related to oil and gas tho. You said you saw many other MSc, on which site? DAAD's or PTDF?

For your DAAD application, did you apply to PTDF first before applying to DAAD? Cos I think the DAAD Nigerian scholarship was a strategic partnership between DAAD and PTDF.
