Please my school wants to send my transcript directly to the university, will that be a problem? Cos I am sending my already certified docs myself?
Not at all, you can mail the international office that your transcript is on the way

Hello people. I recently got admitted in university of Siegen. I have booked a visa interview appointment. However, I need clarity on some issues.
1. What documents do I need to attend the interview with?
2. How do I secure accommodation in Germany.
3. I really don't understand anything on insurance. Do I do a Nigerian travelling insurance and do another in Germany?
Thank you as you respond.
Congrats, same with me. Visit the consulate site and you'll see the checklist of documents you're to come along with.

not at all, my fintiba "make the transfer" also indicated a minimum of 8829 And am very sure my monthly blocked amount is 720€
okpala95:
8890 + 100 account opening charges
Yes 8829 is the minimum after charges of 189 has been added to 8640. His original post said 8890, before he corrected himself to 8829

MY EXPERIENCE AT UI YESTERDAY ( TUESDAY 15TH) (MSc UK)

MY OWN CASE WAS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS WITHIN THE SAME UI. (UI used 3 panels today)

From my own personal experience , the interview has no standard pathern .....you could be asked anything .......

below are my experience today at UI, IBADAN (Msc) .....

1. after i introduced myself .....immediately they learnt i was from the EAST ( IGBO ORIGIN) , they waited for like 2 mins and started murmoring to each other in Hausa language ....(All of the 5 persons that made up the panel were Hausas).

2. i was not asked a single question from my SOP ....they didnt even open it ....nor cared about it.

3. All the questions i was asked were deep, tough and technical (Civil engineering questions ) my 1st degree course .
( one of them is a Prof of Civil Engineering ) ....NOTE : THIS IS OUTSIDE THE CONTEXT OF THE INTERVIEW....recall that from the invitation letter, we were only told to make a presentation of our Statement of Purpose .......This is very unfair to me................

MY CONCLUSION : PTDF is dominated by the Northerners and they are BITTERLY BIASED .....they seems to appear harsh on some persons from a particular part of the country .

Using a WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST to assess everyone would have been fair to all the applicants and not this Biased method of interview where some are barely asked 1 simple and funny question in PANEL (1) and some others in PANEL (2) OR (3) within the same Centre will be bombarded with very rigorous questions that is outside the context of the interview ... this is NOT a reliable and transparent method of selecting the Best. i believe all candidates should be given equal opportunities and assessment.

This is one of the major reason why Nigeria is a failed state..........NEPOTISM AND TRIBALISM .....
Sorry about your experience, Don't stress it. You probably don't know how this things work that's why you're shocked. PTDF is dominated by Northerners as NDDC is by southerners.

That aside the scholarships are very crooked and dubious even for the Northern indigenes. I heard of someone who didn't get his stipends during his 1 year masters and received his alert when he was already in Nigeria.

Others can remain hopeful tho, but for people that know how government institutions operate, you'll know that there are lots of peeps hustling to get this award since last year, so they'll end up selecting just few of the applicants. So don't put your hopes on a Nigerian government scholarship please, search this nairaland and you'll see stories of past awardees that were left stranded.

Shalom

According to my "make the transfer" document sent by Fintiba. It's 8829 plus 100 charges, 89 admin fee

Apologies if you thot I gave the wrong info.

I guess the least amount is 8640 as you've stated.
No offence taken, at all. You must have inputted an amount higher than 720 as your monthly withdrawal.

Hello Nairalanders!
I was given admission into TU Freiberg sometime in November, buh had issues with my SL so my Visa didn't pull through. On my admission letter, its stated that the letter is valid for 18months, buh the enrollment date on it is 1st march to 12th april. Can I still try processing the visa with this admission letter? As the SL issue has been rectified
Since it is stated that admission is valid for 18 months, confirm from the school your enrollment date for winter semester so you can attach the info with your visa application, you might even push your luck further by requesting a new admission letter.

There are schools that accept that, especially private unis. Just do your research and check out the requirements of the school

Just wrapped up my student visa interview some 25 mins ago. Give God the glory for everything. It's all ending in praise....hallelujah. Gonna drop my transcript later. Not that long as the interview wasn't long, just 25mins by one Nigerian lady at the front. That's how you know God has favored you already.

AM to follow too in no distant time.....amen

Congrats, Seems you're going to be our first winter AM testimony. When do you intend to move?

Okpala, how did you arrive at this figure? from the consulate site, the minimum is still 8,640 (plus buffer deposit of 100, plus initial admin fee of 89)

Please confirm, You can still open with more tho, but that's the minimum requirement

Please what is 3.69/5, and 4.6/7 on German scale. You can also provide the steps to convert it sir.
Thanks
go to https://msingermany.co.in/german-grade-calculator/

Enter your grade, Max grade=5, Min grade=1.5

Hence 3.69/5 = 2.12, Don't know the min grade for the 7 GPA scale, you can do that yourself

Hello house?

Anybody here in RWTH Aachen? I just received a conditional offer for a masters program in Electrical Engineering at the school. They want me to take some prerequisite BSc courses in the school before the masters program starts and I'm confused cos these courses are german taught.

Any take on this?
You mean Electrical Power Engineering? It means the program's requirements couldn't be fulfilled in each single area by your transcript, hence the conditional offer.

About the Bsc courses in German, contact the international office for more clarification, but hope you were aware that your program normally requires you take A1 to B1 language courses along your studies

I got a mail today from dem Nigeria CGPA of 3.40 converted to German grade of 2.2 am still on point cause most German schools request for 2.5.... So now the next thing is for them to send to the school... Hoping for the best...
1 is the highest on the German scale, so no worries, 2.2 is higher than 2.5.

Nothing to be worried about if U are not d type dat do change DOB in different stages of life to suit different purpose.

because dey don't play wit "DOB". DOB can lead to so many stressful issues at times. So just relax if U know Ur DOB in places verified are same. Else just pray against any unnecessary stress.

My interview date is fast approaching. I went to get a WAEC scratch card today, the card they sold to me was the paper type with visible serial number and pin. They said WAEC no longer produces the old scratch card.

Please I want to know if the embassy will accept this type of card. The card is genuine, I was able to check my result with it.
My only worry is that the card looks so ordinary, it's just a plain paper with the serial number and pin printed on it.
From summer applicants testimonies, that card is fine. Success in the upcoming interview

I'm actually new to this but from the little I've learnt about the process is this;
1. Open the blocked account with fintiba or another bank
2. When you receive your blocked account details you then request for an appointment whether you have funded the account or not.
3. Fintiba will send you 2 documents but what you need is the 2-page document titled "Make the Transfer"
4. Send your international passport, Make the transfer document and your admission letter
5. Get your interview date and prepare

This is what I've done so far. I'm sure gurus can comment better on this
Someone should help confirm #3 for me
