how do i get there from obalendd or cms?
Take a Bus to Falomo, Ikoyi from CMS for #100. At Falomo stop, take a bike to Ikoyi high court, mind you it's a walk-able distance so pay nothing more than #100

A lot of people have booked for winter semester. My own interview is tomorrow , I know another person going to IUBH Berlin and he has received his Visa. He is even going to Germany as soon as next month so that he can enjoy his summer and look for work before school starts in the winter.

Just be on the booking link day and night and book any date you see there. As far as I’m concerned there’s no such this as summer semester date or winter date because Appointment dates are scarce commodity

This shouldn't be true. Most schools request for the original certified or notarized documents not Photocopy. The documents that carries the original stamp and signature.

Inorder words, if you're sending to 5 diff schools.. You have to use 5 sets of documents.. Each must be certified. Except if you're using Uniassist.
Very true, you can't use a photocopy of notarized or certified copies for application, except it's something unofficial.

After so many years of wishing, wanting and pending, i have decided to take action and start the processes of application for my masters in germany. I am going for msc computer science and here are the schools i wish to apply to for this winter: University of paderbon, University of Bonn, TUM, Rhine waal university of applied sciences, Freie universitat of Berlin, TH Koln, University of Munster and University of siegen. Lol grin , I know the list plenty but man must not dull himself , all way na way. Though there are a few issues, i just applied for my transcript earlier this week and i heard from my ex- colleagues that it normally takes a long time before transcript gets ready in my school (months), is there any way around it cry cry cry , i have my certificate though and also while i applying for the transcript i was required to put an address , so i used uni-assist address, but hopefully they will call for me to come pick it up instead of them sending it to germany. Another issue is that i lost my passport last year november and someone told e that i will have to go to abuja to get a new one , that it cannot be done here in lagos. So i want to confirm if that is absolutely true or it can be done in Lagos. I no get money to travel to abuja cry cry cry cry
I am also thinking of writing IELTS or TOEFL, don't know which one of the two to write.

I am open to suggestions , comments and advice. I'm glad to finally Join this family. May all our dreams come true smiley Thanks
Greetings bro, you are way behind schedule for some schools listed there, e.g TUM whose recommended deadline for students who need visa is 31st March and you haven't even registered to take IELTS/TOEFL which takes between 1-2 months from exam registration to results (for IELTS).

But Nevertheless you're still on track for some schools tho, so you have to sort yourself quickly. For the transcript, your school will take it's time (Nigeria unis are never in a rush) and they'll forward it to uni-assist, which uni assist will receive and process with your other documents if you have paid.

(Hmmm...) For your passport issue, you can't register for IELTS without it oh, and some schools and uni-assist require it for identification , you even need it for document certification at the consulate, so you need to get that done ASAP. You need to get it done within 2 weeks max, as it is a very important prerequisite for your application. You'll need someone to link you up with a TOP immigration officer in immigration production department in any Lagos office.

Please if you also got this let me know what's up OK

Dear applicant,

Please also send your current master´s transcript to:

mss@icams.rub.de by mentioning your application number. Please send the additional document until Monday morning latest (19 March 2018).

Your MSS team
Just send your soft copy transcript to the email given, following the instructions. They likely need it to make a final decision on your admission

Yes they have and I just put a call through, I was told my school don't give transcript to students instead they send it directly to the school you are applying to.

Please gurus in the house, how can one certify such documents and also is there any way round this please?
Let them send the transcript directly to the school you're applying to, meanwhile go ahead and certify your other documents and send to the school. I would advise you time it so your certified documents get there before the transcript does. I used this method for both uni-assist and TUM without hassle

Hello Bros, where did you see me arguing with you or anyone else?

Pls chairman, I didn't get away with anything during my visa application, it was simply "God's perfect work", so please dnt use some sort of language/words when addressing some issues.
If I'm not sure or certain of something, I read and pass without dropping any comment. But if I've facts/evidence on any issue, I simply drop it for anyone who sees it convenient/good/useful to imbibe.
So its never a " Do_Or_Die" thing bros.

I never said going with a handwritten LOM is wrong, neither is going with a typed LOM is wrong either. Countless number of persons are going with typed LOM and ntn has gone wrong with dat. Even Mr. Paulinus while doing his crosschecking/pre-checking won't even ask why ur LOM is not typed!

If you must know, I asked d VO and she told me "They prefer the Typed LOM to the handwritten LOM" quote me on this anytime or anywhere!

I really dnt like it when pple think I'm propagating wrong info when its obvious I'm not. I won't encourage what I know is wrong or damnable because I always take "The Golden Rule" so seriously.

Well, to also tell you that I didn't talk just because I want to run my mouth, neither did I comment simply because my hands are itching me to write anything by all means, let me post a checklist you can find right inside the German embassy webpage. I think with that I'm done with this topic!

Hello Everyone,

I have being a silent observer and reader here. I find it difficult to get my transcript by hand as I was told by my past and present higher institution that it's impossible for me to have by hand that I can only provide a foreign school address where they can send it to directly. My past school us Yabatech and present is UNILAG. I wonder if they aren't aware of a country like Germany that requires all admission REQUIREMENTS being notarized before sending.

Please I have some questions which I believe our able nairalanders could be of help.

1. As anyone used UNILAG DLI YEAR ONE transcript to apply successfully for any Bsc program? Although, am presently in year 3 but the year 2 result is yet to be release, and it seem there will be no time waiting for its release.

2. Would it be possible to get the transcript from German Embassy if I submitted their address to my school in order to send directly to the embassy as a means of authentication?

3. Can my OND transcript also support the possibility of being admitted in these German universities?

I will appreciate if my humble questions is being looked into and advised.

Thank you....
For your transcript, as far as the school sends it directly, it doesn't need to be notarized as it proves that the document sent is authentic since it is directly from the school (based on uni-assist response to my enquiry in the past). So just apply to your university and have them send the transcript directly to the school.

Point of correction!

It "MUST NOT" be handwritten. Its OK you said it's stated on the checklist, but the word "MUST" isn't appropriate.

Do you realized that when trying to book an appointment for student visa, there is also a checklist while navigating through the links/direction? In that checklist, it wasn't stated if it should be "Handwritten" or not.

Talking from personal experience, I submitted a typed LOM
Seriously unnecessary argument, Instructions are instructions, and are meant to be followed. The checklist on the student visa page clearly indicates that the LOM should be handwritten.

The fact you got away with typing yours doesn't mean you should mislead others from doing the right thing, since the purpose of this forum is to provide RELIABLE & CORRECT INFORMATION to others

what are the benefits of learning German language at a German institute(Abj/Lag)....... apart from communicating freely ova there,,,, the money they are calling is wot i dont have,,,, thinking of learning the language locally with a man i know that teaches German.. gurus pls advice me
For me,the biggest benefit of learning German is it makes you more employable in the German job market as you're not restricted to only English speaking jobs.

For the Goethe institut, their schedule is rigid, they have four trimesters, once a trimester kicks off, you can't join again. So, if you can get a reliable, verified instructor, it will be faster for you to go from A to B level proficiency

Yes, dats exactly what I'm saying. Dats what I used in collecting my visa.

Instead of wasting money in getting travel insurance in Nigeria just to collect ur visa, at d long run u can't use d insurance in Germany, then ull end up getting a German student health insurance, why not apply for a student health insurance dat will get u ur visa and also cover you wen u're in Germany.

Interesting thing is dat u may not have the need of paying until u finally get to Germany.
How can one go about that?

How I wish some of you will drop this 'hustle' mentality. I understand the need to live in a country like Germany cause of the benefits (which I've experienced) and quality of education. But the thing with this hustle is that, you might just come here and forget your education which I think is the key.

Your goal or any other person's goal who wants to study in Germany shouldn't be 'hustle'. It should be to study a good course and have a good paying job afterwards.

Do you know what you will earn with this hustle jobs? You might actually be disappointed if you get here to see that it's not all that hype. I don't see anyone mentioning that there's hardly any time to hustle while studying. I'm currently in Studienkolleg and I barely have time for myself, I'm just imagining how it is for those in University.

And I don't see anyone talking about the typical 'hustle' jobs. Someone should help me mention those jobs lipsrsealed. Trust me it's not easy.

Your cgpa seems low but nothing is impossible. That's not a reason to spend so much money in a private university. Have you ever considered starting afresh? Like going to Studienkolleg and study afterwards?

I think you could also apply for another Bsc with your first year transcript.
Her CGPA is low?? Isn't that a 2.3/3 ?

Good Afternoon team Dutch land, I recently applied to a university in South Germany through uni-assist which there application deadline is on the 15th of February. And decision would be taken 2weeks after d deadline.... And it's written boldly on the programme fliers that the program will commenced on the 1st of March and the university programme only runs during the summer semester...... Which means if I said I shld defer I would have to wait till next year March...... Luckily I was admitted into a university in Berlin last year where I have to pay huge to complete my programme, 9,000€ and will still needs around €5000 euro for other expenses like housing and flight ticket...... Although my sponsor didn't have the money he will have to hustle for the money...... Please i need your advice if the school it worth going Because my major aim of travelling is 40percent academic and 60percent to upgrade my standard of living please i need your advise.... To pay him back the money after a year..... Thanks your advice is needed urgently
Like Jigba replied, it ain't worth it. So many quality schools that offer free tuition, also consider the winter semester so you'll have enough time to prepare
