Q: why are the Oyinbos inventing so many cool things and their countries are so advanced?
A: They are using Juju
Conversation stops there and the answer feels cozy and good to the giver. Some even say the Jujus of the Oyinbos can be used for good while that of Africans can only be used for the bad. I ask such people how come Africans aren't the ones that invented atomic bomb? cruise missile? because I could've sworn Oyinbos are the ones making both beneficial and destructive things Spot on. Once they embrace their delusion, they try so much to defend it rather than probe it. When you spot a loophole, they invent an explanation to clear the loophole. It doesn't have to be rational, as long as they say something. |

They'd say the engineer in charge would go underwater to meet the "Mami water" there and obtain permission to build bridge(s) over the water. They'd say the Mami water would then give them permission and give him the supernatural enablement to build the bridge which would've been impossible without those powers
Every time I'm told these stories as a teenager I couldn't counter it cuz my inability to explain how those bridges are built is a hindrance. As I grew and learnt more I realised the marine juju bridge stories are just explanation conjured by the mentally lazy. why go through the stress of asking, researching, studying, practicing, testing and verifying when one can just assume some Invisible spiritual entities are responsible?
This is the same reason people just plug god into whatever ignorance they feel exists, why worry yourself over those when you can just insert god there and call it a day? I have heard stories that marine witchcraft is responsible for advanced technology. Dr. Olukoya and other pastorpreneurs are truly working. |

hopefulLandlord: This is a question I've always asked those that believe juju powers are real. How can we use this juju powers to make Nigeria better?
The day I asked the question for the first time was the only attempt at answering the question.
I was discussing with 2 men and 1 woman. their first reply was to warn me not to dare the powers of juju (they knew I'm an atheist). I replied that its not what my question implied and infact my question was built on the assumption that jujus are as powerful as they say they are. After a lot of running around the question without attempting to answer it the woman said that "Juju powers are made only to wrought destruction as its from the devil so it can never be used for good"
At that point I just nodded and changed the topic. I couldn't bring myself to challenge her thinking further at that time. This is a woman THAT BELIEVES ALL THESE WORLD CLASS BRIDGES IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES ARE DONE IN COLLABORATION WITH MARINE JUJU POWERS. isn't that an example of "using juju for good" if its true that juju were involved in the constructions of those bridges? doesn't this point to the fact that she's compartmentalising?
It was then I noticed people believe all these juju stories due to a combination of fear, ignorance and indoctrination and would do anything to protect that belief

... Continued Having lived in this planet for a considerable amount of time, I can say for sure that most people love to hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see rather than seek to face the truth. People see the truth but choose to believe the lie for what ever reason I don't know. Christianity flourishes under human wickedness and stupidity. Stupidity ensures that it is believed to the very end and wickedness because man, in his wickedness, wickedly exploit human stupidity and will ensure that religion remains so that he can benefit from the exploits. Take a look at pastors and the luxurious life they enjoy, they would do anything to fight for it. Look at christians and the way they stupidly defend their beliefs in the face of evidence and you will know that with human stupidity, religion won't die soon. Christianity in the past ensured that rulers controlled people and priests got ten percent of people's hard sweat. If you tell people to give ten percent of their earnings to you, they would call you a thief immediately but if it is to give to an imaginary god, they would give without question. Getting ten percent of the earnings of a population, with some even giving their whole salary, is a lucrative scam --- a big scam! Most people don't realise how lucrative and incredible this opportunity is except they realise that christianity is crap AND they realise how much pastors make every sunday. I am very busy, so I will stop here. ... To be continued. |

It has been known by the wise that the laws of nature are immutable ie. the laws of nature can never be changed. The laws of nature can never be suspended. We are all subject to laws of nature and nothing else despite what we choose to believe. It follows, logically, that miracles, as put forward by religions can't happen and don't exist. Given that miracles, as put forward by religion, are impossible we can say that religious figures and entities that supposedly performed miracles or had innate powers to perform miracles either never existed or were, surely, religious characters based on mere mortals. The best which bible writers could have probably done to ensure the credibility of these religious figures is to tell certain true accounts of the mere mortal in question and then exaggerate and add untrue accounts to the biography of the mere mortal. Perhaps, like Joseph Smith Jr., Ayo Babalola, Marion Braham and Muhammad, these mortals could have dubiously or by virtue of mental illness told false stories about themselves and gathered followers who believed these stories and perpetrated them long after they were gone. All in all, miracles don't exist and no man(dead or alive) has a single miracle to his/her name.
If miracles don't exist, what about the miracles at healing crusades? Those were not miracles, they were staged and arranged. Miracles supposedly performed by pastors and other spiritualists are miracles that can be faked by you and I. I could lie down and act like I was dead and hopefulLandlord could lay his hands on me and command me rise in the name of Jesus and I would rise acting like I was died and now live. I could come out and give a testimony that I was healed of cancer, hiv or blindness with forged medical reports and have various accomplices vindicate the report. Miracles in ALL churches by ANY pastor are staged, exaggerated, false or arranged. Why is it that miracles that can't be faked are never seen in crusade? Demand or watch out for a miracle that can't be faked and get ready to be disappointed. Amputees are never restored and those with severed head are never brought back. It's either the almighty chooses to only perform miracles that can be faked or pastors, being the conmen that they are, can only "perform" miracles that can afford to staged, choose wisely.
Always note that miracles don't exist and you shouldn't take seriously anyone(dead or alive) who is said to have a miracle to his/her name.

SMH. Who asked you? Can't you be intelligent? If people had attacked Jesus after Constantinople's defeat, it wouldn't have been out of place because it's never out of place to seek answers about how things work and the reality of things. If after Constantinople's defeat, someone demanded where Jesus was and why Jesus didn't help, the questions, if honestly investigated, would have led them to know that Christianity is crap and they would put more time in battle efforts and strategy rather than depend on god to lead them as god led King David. That's the joy of asking and probing. It is okay and right for dorox to ask. @ bolded What an irony.

prolog2: don't waste my time, "juju", as you call it, is a religion. I am pretty sure the Germans had a religion when they got defeated. Yet I haven't met anybody moronic enough to ask the Germans why Jesus didn't save them. Your question is beyond childish and stupid. No I am not childish and stupid. Are you that dull not to see that the protective capacity of charms was questioned by dorox using the defeat of the king as an example? Dorox question has nothing to do with the Germans or other religions. The issue is about charms and you didn't stay on the issue instead you went loose like a fishwife. If someone had asked the Germans why Jesus didn't save them, they would not be foolish and moronic. Didn't god lead Israelites into battle and secured many victories for them? Such an intelligent question would have led the one who asked and who was asked to the path of discovery that with or without charms and religion, one must follow the laws of nature and cause and effect judiciously to decrease their odds in battle. So what then is the usefulness of Jesus? That question is a bright one as it shows, in the end, that religion and other world mysticisms are ridiculous garbages and falsehood with no basis in reality. So to answer Dorox's question, you need to explain how a king can possess charms, that supposedly serve protective and offensive functions in battles, and still be defeated by those who don't believe in charms and depended on physical weapons. That's how to stay on the topic instead of ranting like an unreasonable, bias and bitter man. |

prolog2: historical fact? Well I guess the words history and fact are lost on you guys. Napoléon was also exiled after being defeated. I guess his magic didn't work, what a humiliation! Any king who suffers the same fate as Napoléon is a humiliated king. Such a humiliation! I notice that you avoided to state your own origin, probably because you know there is nothing to be proud of in the history of your own people. On the internet, sons of slaves like yourself attack sons of heroic kings. Most of you guys descend from either slaves either fucktards who didn't put up a fight against the brits. It takes a strong African king to fight the British empire. By the way, here are other kings who got exiled: emir of kano, shehu of born. The sultan of sokoto got killed in battle. You what did your "King" do? As you can see, all the greats faught the losing battle no matter the odds and they met their fates like heroes, whereas your chicken hearted ancestors died as cowards. You are having a hard time comprehending the post of dorox. Normally, juju is supposed to be stronger than physical weapons. How come a king and his kingdom, with juju, were defeated by white men who depended on weapons and didn't believe in juju. In history, it is humiliating for a king to be defeated and subjected by his captors beyond his will. Dorox never said other parts of Nigeria weren't captured, he simply asked why the king was defeated despite having charms, which we can serve protective function and offensive function in battles. |

budaatum: Proofs or evidences for the claims of Christianity
Some people, vaxx, to name one has rather sadly allowed this sort of claim to be made, that there is no evidence for Christianity. Fortunately, I am still pissed off at the op for missing me out in a recent thread and have not found it in me to forgive him yet. So, if any Christians could provide me with some valid claims that Christians make, I would personally provide evidence for them.
To give a taste, I am starting with the first item on Dalaman's crap list!
First let us determine what is meant by the statement "Prayer works". I suggest it simply means that if one prays, one receives the outcome that one has prayed for. So the question is, "does prayer provide one with what one has prayed for?"
Let's get one thing clear. if you have followed some of buda's posts, you would be aware that buda has been praying that the Ferrari salesperson accept the imaginary one million pounds in her bank account in exchange for a spanking brand new red Ferrari but still rides a bike. So it is safe to say that buda's prayer has not worked. However, is that evidence that prayer does not work, or evidence that perhaps buda does not know how and what to pray for?
In a proper Christian home, the family gathers in the morning and prays before everyone goes off to their daily doings. Mummy prays for what she wants, daddy prays for what he wants, the children pray for what they want and the house help pray for what they want, and everyone says amen to everyone else's prayer. I think the effect of this is that the family communicate their desires to one another and you can't suggest that that does not make for a better home. So, morning prayer works in creating a family environment where communication happens and everyone knows the desires of the hearts of other members of the family.
After morning prayer, we all go about our daily business. If anything, the children know what the desires of their parents are for them, for if they have prayed that their children be safe through the day, the child could safely infer that mummy and daddy love him or her. So, prayer has created a rather healthy psychological environment for the child, which is a good thing.
The child prays everyday, lets say, to pass it's exams. I am certain that child is very likely to remember to study at some point in the day as it's constant prayer could not but make it understand that not studying is the opposite of praying to pass. So, praying is more likely to make one focus on achieving the outcomes that one is praying for.
The house help pray that their master and mistress prosper and treats them well, and I do think that a master and mistress that hears such prayers would assume that their house help like them and they might just like the house help too and want the best for them. They sure might consider themselves part of the one same family and in for the long term.
Night comes, and the family gathers together again to pray, perhaps expressing gratitude forgetting through the day and hoping tomorrow comes. Again the family communes together forming a cohesive bond, which is a good thing.
I could go on, but I hope the above is sufficient to show the benefit of payer and the way in which it might be said to 'work', which in effect is evidence that the op has made a rather false claim about at least one of the claims that Christians make.
Do beware though that while the Christians call all the above 'prayer', a family that sits down together and discusses their daily desire amongst themselves whilst calling on a stone and not some some supreme being would also achieve the same results. I am sorry for leaving you out on a previous thread. Reading through you post, I must say you sound exactly like Jordan Peterson. |
