SmartyPants: - Do you know that ladies don't get late parent's inheritance in many traditional settings?
Nigerian law has taken care of this. When deprived, go to Court.
- Do you know that a man can send his wife parking without a dime in Nigeria regardless of how long they've been together?
That's a lie. Nigerian law clearly provides for asset sharing.
...... You even have time to engage people that intentionally play pretend and bring up lame facts to support their agendas and narratives. These are bold liars. A feminist will look at the marital and child support laws in Western countries, have full information on the workings of the system, and still look you in the eyes and declare with utmost conviction that women over there have it harder in marriages and divorce, and are oppressed and disenfranchised by the system. Don't waste your time, bro. Disprove them all you want, they won't relent in their craft and lies. |

AbuTwins: Yes, that's the context!
Genesis 11:31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
Genesis 11:32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
God commanded him to leave after his father died. He left Haran with Lot and their family just as their father had brought them to Haran! Omo! You are right o. It doesn't surprise me given that the bible is a book of contradictions. |

Illusioneffect: That's what feminism is right now 🔥 they create problems that don't exist right now They create nonexistent problems for selfish objectives and to quell boredom. They create false, silly, and pointless narratives/ideas to support their contempt for men, inconsiderate selves, sociopathy, stubbornness and wickedness. They want to spin all sorts of talking points to make themselves seem like oppressed and noble angels before men: the supposedly misogynistic, unethical, and callous savages. They even unknowingly project themselves unto men to vilify men. |

COOL10: The girl is already on a path of doom. She's been listening to and has already been taken over by the buzz words those misandrists love to use i.e. patriarchy, toxic masculinity, e.t.c, so she feels she's found something worth fighting for. If only she knew Don't mind them. Unfortunately, no matter how traditional and well-intentioned parents and guardians might be, once they are ignorant of or underestimate the power of social media and society in shaping the mindset of their kids, wahala fit dey. The kids you see at home can be very very very different from what they are outside and to their friends. Make I no yan too much. |

COOL10: All you need to do is show her how lonely, depressed, bitter, toxic, sexually starved, ridiculously aggressive, and shameless modern day feminists are.
If she doesn't want to end up like the many 49 year old bitter, ugly, evening newspaper wanna-be feminists that we have on nairaland, who instead of worrying about the fact that their mates are happily married with beautiful children, decide to (since they're so jobless) spend all their time arguing with young men on this forum about senseless things, then she should better listen to you.
Feminists are bitter people. Don't let the supposed career success of few of them deceive you. Deep down, they die everyday because no man wants them. Ask your sister if she really wants that for herself. All OP needs to do is tell her that she is not a victim; men are not oppressing women; men and women have equal rights; and her choices are not to be blamed on anyone else. She should own her life and encourage women in the spirit of her activism to stop playing victims. There are bad women and bad men, and both genders suffer in the hands of both group, however there is no global and clandestine patriarchal structure oppressing and depriving women. What is the essence of training a girl child through school, seeing them have the same rights as men, and have access to leadership positions, only for them to play victim, peddle the narrative of oppression, and embrace this virus called feminism? Edit: unfortunately, the girl will likely not listen. Usually, women must hit rock bottom because of their hard-headed attitude before they start applying common sense. |

SmartyPants: If you read the OP you would have seen that this us exavtly the idea of feminism the girl has. Besides, what rights would a Nigerian woman say she doesn't have today? Genuinely curious. Feminists are usually foolish women who, each time they speak, reinforce the idea that women should remain silent. Feminism is really a misandric and female-supremacist mindset and movement. A movement and mindset of playing victim, female hubris and entitlement, contempt/lack of empathy for men, self-centeredness, and double-standards favouring women. |

Lol. This is why you don't give young boys and girls access to social media until you have trained them properly and they are eighteen. If they must use social media, try your best to regulate and limit their use. Don't underestimate the influence of social media and the tons of personalities, ideas, and vices therein.
For parents and guardians, always have it in mind that society will always join hands to mentally mold your kids.
Well, once the feminist virus embeds itself in a young female's mind, it's a wrap. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Another Copyist Mathematical Error In The Bible! by Martinez39s(m): 11:41am On May 11, 2024 |
AbuTwins: The calculation regarding the age of Terah when he fathered Abraham is done by comparing the ages and lifespans of the individuals mentioned in the genealogy provided in Genesis.
1. According to Genesis 11:26, Terah was 70 years old when he fathered Abraham, Nahor, and Haran. 2. In Genesis 11:32, it mentions that Terah lived to be 205 years old and then he died in Haran. 3. Genesis 12:4 states that Abraham was 75 years old when he departed from Haran.
By subtracting the age of Terah when he fathered Abraham (70) from the total years of Terah's life (205), we get 205 - 70 = 135 years. This would mean that Terah lived for 135 years after the birth of Abraham. However, since Abraham was 75 years old when he left Haran after Terah's death, it implies that Terah must have been at least 130 years old when he died (135 years after Abraham's birth), which is inconsistent with the information given in the genealogy. This discrepancy suggests a copyist error in the text.
Abraham should have been at least 135 years old when his father died but the Bible claimed he was 75 years!
How do we explain this mathematically? Does the Bible explicitly state that Abraham lost his father before he left? You can leave a place without your parents dying. |

Treadway: I remember the many times I prayed for this girl..cos her case/story really touched me. All I wanted was for God to deliver her from these marauders, as he did Paul and Silas. I wanted to see her case be one that will manifest the power of God.
If I say this news no weak me, na lie.
Well, you are God unquestionable. If this is how you want it, Glory be to your name all the same. This is why many religious people will forever be deceived by religion. Life and common sense will, in many ways, invariably communicate to us that there is no god and religion is one big nonsensical falsehood, but people will remain obstinate. Those terrible and sad situations, or some other situations, that put a question mark on god and religion and make people say the following: ● "We can't question God"; ● "God knows best"; ● "God has a reason for everything"; ● "His ways are mysterious" etc. are life's ways of showing us the falsehood and absurdity of the notion of god and religion. All one need do is bravely appraise such situations with common sense and critical thinking, and honestly call a spade a spade. GOD NO DEY. If your sister was Leah Sharibu, would you make peace with such questionable and tragic outcome with the emboldened platitudes? What if she was your daughter? Put yourself in her shoes. Imagine the trauma and mental anguish she is enduring. Imagine what she would have done with her life and what she would have become had she not been kidnapped. What is that necessary thing that god cannot achieve if Leah Sharibu was rescued and allowed to lead a normal life? Why did she have to be forcibly raped and married off to two men? All because she never denied her faith? If you were god, would you have ensured a different outcome? If yes, then you are morally better than the supposed demiurge called Yahweh. It turns out that he can't do anything because he doesn't exist. The earlier we all realise that there is no god or supernatural stuffs and we are all on our own, the better for us. |
