@girlie2000. What exactly do you want to know? I am an naija person and always will be. The thing is I deeply appreciate women that have the courage to let a man know exactly how they feel towards them (though some shallow minded people see it as being cheap) i know some men see it that way and the take it for granted saying afterall she asked me out.

I have and will always appreciate courageous women, they are indeed very rare.

I will not advise you to go for masters straightaway cos you might end up being in this same position again. Get a job first. Believe me, you never really know what you like career wise until you get into the corporate world. Interests do change. Once you get a job, after a while you will start to discover your real self, what motivates you career wise, what you have passion for and what exactly you will enjoy doing for the next 20 years or so.

This realisations will inform the area of academics you will want to specialise and in this case you decide the appropriate masters programme that you will do.

Believe me, I am speaking from experience similar to this. I graduated with a B.Sc Biochemistry and now I have an MBA, ina career that I love.

Experience matters.
Career / Re: Current Working Conditions & Opportunities In Nigerian Capital Markets by Mashkov: 3:36pm On May 26, 2009
@chicks-cfa,

Just seeing this post now and I really don't know if my response will be kind of belated. Well, if your situattion is still as it was when you made the post, this is my advise,

Don't go to bank's career website as they are all not functional. Instead, get the email address of key top management staff and email you CV to them with a measaage commiunicating your intentions and desires. That works as I have done it before.

BGL, Oceanic Capitals, Zenith Capitals, PHB Capitals etc are among the notable ones around that surely pays good.

Ciao!

Romance / Re: What Option Do I Take? Pls Advise by Mashkov: 10:03am On May 26, 2009
I hate it when people hang on desperately to something that has no future. What is your problem? cos I can't see any tough decision to take here. Obviously, you are not compatible with your Mr Eritrean and there you are seeing another prospect, a Nigerian that seem e-compatible.

My dear, you cannot know the taste of the soup by the smell/aroma. Dump this Eri guy and make it work with the Ibo guy, who knows? that might just be it and if not, there are loads of opportunity out there of which the Eritrean is not an option.

Worry no further my dear!!!
Romance / Re: Is It Lady-like? by Mashkov: 2:00pm On May 22, 2009
It i s VERY VERY okay and appropriate to tell you guy the way you want it. It helps the union. Keep quiet, he will not know, concluding that you are one frigid person. At the end of the day, you are left unsatisfied and he might long for some super fun out there meanwhile you can meet the need he is looking for outside.

Dear sister, tell him cos if i am your guy I will appreciate you for that.
Romance / Re: My True Story: by Mashkov: 11:14am On May 22, 2009
To get compensation, I think you should sell this story to Zeb Ejiro etc. I will definitely be a blockbuster. I can imagine Jim Iyke as Reuben, Rita Dominic as the bride and you played by Oge Okoye grin grin grin

Politics / Re: You Must Pay Tax, Lagos Tells Pastors, Imams by Mashkov: 4:13pm On May 21, 2009
@Guk,

I think I'm beginning to admire and appreciate you arguments but let's get the fact straight,

1. I have paid my tax up to date; I am on a PAYE tax system and have all my certs to show for it.
2. The fact are there that most of our pastors are more focused on establisghing churches in European countries. I am not being particluar about any one here, there is no point castigatinig any as I am not here to judge any but to give my own personal opinion and comments about happenings in our christiandom. I am well aware of some churches that do more of humanitarian than business (i.e. creation of schools and micro finance banks that lends to people at exhorbitant rates). E.g there is a church that is primarily into rehabilitating of area boys in Lagos (GBN is the acronym)
3. I do give as this is my principle of wealth multiplication and it is also a matter of my covenant with God which muct be fulfilled. I have pastors, orphans widows on my regular list.
4. We should allow the government to do what is supposed to be done in order to facilitate development of i nfrastructures, Rome was not built in a day, the Fashola administration, I can say is taking the right step in the right direction, with time and support of the people, they will get there.

For those that live abroad, you cannpt joke with tax evasion so why resent paying taxes here?

Ciao.

Kx:

pls is he doughting u or doubting u? kindly clarify.

@KX - He is doubting her, forget the typos get the real message.

@poster

I think you should walk away from this guy. Guys  like then feel so insecure and this always have a negative effect on their relationships. You are altering your life negatively all in the name of pleasing this guy. He will never trust you, know that for real. What will then happen if you guys are not working within the same organisation?
Politics / Re: You Must Pay Tax, Lagos Tells Pastors, Imams by Mashkov: 12:52pm On May 21, 2009
Guk:

How many of us who criticize others for not helping the poor have actually consistently & will continue to help the poor? Are you not aware that by fact of you reading this on NL, you are richer than Billions of others?

What have have you done or thought to do for the road sweeper in Lagos or her children? You accuse of whoever charging so much for private education fees, how many kids in your neighbourhood have you given free lessons? Let he who thinks he stands beware,

There is nothing wrong in Constructive Criticism, but there is Judgemental attitude in Destructive Criticism & the unfortunate thing is that, once you adopt the latter, it reflects in every other area of your personal life & a lot of that accounts for where Nigeria & Nigerians are today, Retrogressive
What are you talking about? You are just blowing textbook grammar that say nothing more than nothing. What are we saying, what are you saying?
Politics / Re: You Must Pay Tax, Lagos Tells Pastors, Imams by Mashkov: 12:36pm On May 21, 2009
Though the arguments here have totally deviated from the main topic of discussion. I think the guys against these so called big time pastors have a point so are the individuals having the right to throw their hard earned cash in t he shredded. I am a christian and it baffles me a lot to see the kind of affluence that surrounds our men of God in the midst of so much poverty.

I keep asking myself this question, christianity was brought to us by the West, why are we always directing oue evangelical energy towards that direction again. Are we saying there are no souls to be saved in Africa where war and battles are common, where satan sits and dines with the minds of men. Are we saying evangelism cannot be spread aggressively to other African countries even the Middle East.

Face the fact, nobody is judging anybody. We are at most times clouded by religious sentiments that we fail to see reason and the truth. Why are churches doing less of humanitarian works and more of profitable ventures.

I am sure Christ's garment did not have a pocket hence had to catch a fish to pay his taxes. Whyt are churches piling up huge bank balances running into millions? What are these monies for? What are we saving for  when the Bible states clearly that we should worry less about tomorrow!!

I think we need to practise christianity with sense o. Reinhard Bonkke will spend millions evangelising in Africa cos he knows that is where the real work is, our own pastors don't do things like that instead they go about establishing churches in US, UK etc not Angola, Sudan, Syria etc.

Think!!!

Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland Guys Are Ugly; Checked Their Profiles by Mashkov: 10:20am On May 19, 2009
It is very obvious you are looking for a cheap publicity, trying to see how much people will checl out your profile. Desist from this, its no good at all. I understand that you are definitely so so bored and in need of a masculine attention. This is not a good way to go seeking for attention.

As for your looks, good I will say but not sure what's inside that skull of yours.

Romance / Re: Ladies Are Parasites? by Mashkov: 7:56am On May 15, 2009
@ poster,

I will only advise you to abandon this thread by simply apologizing to some ladies you have offended by your stupid thread. I am so sure you pick your girls from the gutters hence you end up getting some airtime sucking vampires. Let me tell you, you don't generalise on issues like this, some ladies do more of giving (financial) to men than it is the other way round.

You don't just wake up and use your experience to source for sympathy. I sure say your MAMA no too tax your PAPA (you know say "owu" dey blow your papa those days) else, she wouldn't have married him talkless of bringing you to this world.

Romance / Re: My Story by Mashkov: 8:11am On May 14, 2009
Davidcares,

I went through your story and I must say it was a really sad and pathetic one. I really felt for you and I could feel your pain. Love indeed can be a bad thing atimes putting you in such a difficult position.

This is what I think,

1. This girl was unfaithful to you - I think that is not the first time she is doing it, she only got caught this time around.
2. The fact that you can now see this side of her, she will do it again
3. If a woman can descend so low to allow her emotion to rule her knoing fully well that she is pregnant and still went ahead to sleep with another guy, then she is not a good woman at all.
4. It may be very very very painful but my cyber friend, MOVE ON cos the memory will forever hunt you. You cannot trust her again.

I wish you well.

Time is a great healer, get yourself involved in extracurricular activities to ease your mind my friend. Look for a female friend (just friend), go for dates, drinks etc this will really help trust me.
