Politics › Re: Senate Clears Wike As He Says Tinubu Won’t Regret Nominating Him As Minister by mastermaestro(m): 9:48am On Aug 01, 2023
Dancebreaker:
Every Tinubu supporter will of course feel it's a good move because it makes Tinubu appear to be inclusive. It actually weakens Wike in his South-South homebase that is primarily PDP with LP gaining popularity. Rigging Rivers election doesn't make him popular. He just got a slot in the cabinet for the job.

The only person who gains is Tinubu. Wike has undersold himself, or perhaps people wrongly thought he was more than he actually is.
Ministers who were in Abuja from 2015-2023, how many of them are relevant in national politics right now?

A senate position would have been more honourable for Wike.
Senate without a principal position? Going to the senate would have sent him into political oblivion. You would only be heard at and from the senate if you held an important office right there.

By the way I hope you are not referring to me as Tinubu's supporter. If so, then this whole conversation wouldn't be worth it. sad

Since i was introduced to yale bread I don’t eat any other bread. I love the bread so much but the fact that this bread can stay for weeks on the shelve without getting spoil. My friend told me he was scared of the bread because he doesn’t know what they put in the bread that can make it last that long on the shelf.
Sincerely I have been asking the same question. The shelf life is too long for normal bread. I have decided to stop having that bread after seeing your concerns.

Really? I used to think he was smarter. From wanting not to be VP to becoming a minister, that he already was years ago? shocked shocked shocked shocked
Wike sustained PDP financially for so long, only to be opposing party's minister?

He should have nominated someone for minister and stay out. That's what Tinubu did with Buhari/APC for 8 years. Today, Tinubu is able to claim he wasn't in Bubu government.

As for Fubara, who says he can't fall out with Wike? Wike fell out with Amaechi. This is politics.
Wike wants to maintain national relevance which is good for his national ambition. Comparing him to Tinubu does not really match. Tinubu is a mentor, while Wike isn't. He is more like a lone striker who needs to scrape every chance to stay in demand.

It's only fair to place him and Amaechi in the same draw. I hope he performs well to solidify his future aspirations.

Wow! So Wike can actually accept ministerial position? Not even SGF?

A man that could not settle for VP? shocked shocked shocked shocked

I can't believe that Amaechi could have more integrity than than Wike.

At least Amaechi decamped with full chest as governor.

May be Wike was actually envious of Amaechi all along. Wow!
As it stands today, (I don't know about tomorrow) Wike has played a better game than Amaechi. First he made sure to retain political honour and weight in his home state, then goes further to acquire national relevance. grin

If anything goes wrong between him and Tinubu tomorrow, he has a sure political base to fall back to. He appears more thoughtful than Amaechi, who runs on too much emotion.

Are the leaders aliens or Nigerians? You think if this woman is given appointment she won’t misbehave? The whole Nigeria needs reorientation and it should be from crèche. We all need to learn to stop sabotaging ourselves and our country.
Aptly said. What you said is the only solution to our national collapse. We have almost zero human values. All the humane virtues that distinguish humanity from savagery are missing in over ninety percent of the Nigerian populace.

We are just devouring one another all in the name of smartness. With what obtains today, Nigeria is on an irredeemable path, sad to say.

Must you comment, he said his friend is on the verge of giving up, and you wrote this. Where is your conscience?

AMONG ALL THIS PROPOSED MINISTERS, WIKE IS THE "STAR BOY"

EYES WILL DEFINITELY BE ON HIM THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD OF HIS SERVICE TO THE TINUBU GOVERNMENT.

AND TINUBU KNOWS THAT MANY PEOPLE WILL PLACE THEIR EYES ON EX-GOVERNOR WIKE.

FORMER GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE, NYESOM WIKE IS THE ONLY GOVERNOR FROM THE SOUTH SOUTH REGION IN THE PAST DISPENSATION THAT PLAYED HIS CARD VERY WELL.

HE WAS VERY ARTICULATE, CALCULATIVE AND DECISIVE.

HE MESMERISED THE ATIKU CAMP AND DIFFUSED THEIR ASPIRATION.

NOW HE IS BEING REWARDED WITH A MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT.

I SEE WIKE ASPIRING TO THE POSITION OF VICE PRESIDENT AFTER THE TINUBU GOVERNMENT ELAPSED THAT IS IF THE PRESIDENCY GOES TO THE NORTH.
Just like Amaechi abi? Wike is only repeating Amaechi's political history. Wait and see before dancing unclad. cheesy

NO. Exmilitant:
You have a shallow mindset.
Where is Obasanjo, Gowon and IBB living in your Abuja and Lagos? Don't they have thriving businesses outside their villages?
So many successful persons in the US lives in the rural part of the US and controls their business empires from there. In these days and age 60% of people in cities may not be successful because of the fierce competition there.
So strategizing from the comfort of the rural area can catapult you to height unimaginable.
A school mate from Cross River state relocated to his community to take charge of his father's palm plantation. Under two years he built houses here in PH and rented them out. Niggar is now exporting palm kernels shell to India.
You are just too dumb to be engaged. Was OBJ at Ota when he became head of state? Did he become head of state from his father's village? Leave all these stupid stories and reason with your brain. Retirement and seeking opportunities are two different ventures. I engaged that guy regarding opportunities, not retirement.

Even a sound toddler knows that location affects prospects. How would you tell someone to relocate to his village when he has greater chances of earning what is commensurate to his human value in Lagos city, New York, Port Harcourt, Johannesburg?

Go back and understand the points I made before jumping aimlessly on it.

There are scores of very succesful people with thriving ventures in the village.

Its all about mentality.
Is this a joke or what? How about Tinubu remaining in Iragbiji to hustle? How about Messi remaining in Argentina to play football? How about Ronaldo staying back in Portugal? How about Adeboye staying put in Ifewara? How about Dangote moving all his businesses to Kano? Should I go on or you have gotten the message? cheesy

Maybe you need to study the relationship between opportunities and location. Wetin dey village? Better pack your bags and move where your chances are brightest.

I feel this guy hasn't lived up to his potential. He's such a raw talent and arguably one of the most gifted players to come out of Nigeria, but somehow inconsistency is his undoing. I can't place my fingers on what the issue with him is cos it's painful to see somehow that should be chased by big clubs for a much higher fee being sold for just 20 million Euros.
You mentioned his problem already. He is too inconsistent to be taken seriously by a top top club. Sometimes he performs magically, other times he messes up in games. I won't blame him. He might be content already that he has achieved his biggest dream, which probably is to play for a premier league team.

Enough of this issue.

What she did is outrightly wrong and incriminating but people make silly juvenile mistakes especially these days when everything is social media prank giving the younger ones bad examples to emulate.
Most especially when there are old crooks with far bigger vicious crimes against humanity on their necks in the same country but they walk around like free men and women.

I'm very much against her action but all the aggression shouldn't be directed at her.
After punishing her, do remember to punish the bigger thieves more.
Her crime now is not the original crime of falsification of result. The real crime was when she chose to fight dirty on social media in defense of a result she obviously fabricated. This is why JAMB won't let her off the hook cheaply. Do you know what her brazen insistence did to the reputation of JAMB that period? Are you aware people began comparing JAMB to INEC?

Leave sentiments bro. JAMB won't let go this matter. Their punitive action must stand to deter others from reenacting similar fraud.
