Hahaha.. Lazy yoots from a shithole country with fantastically corrupt leaders ![]() |
But, can I ask what happens when those individuals with rotten mentalities move abroad? Do they remain the same and sink or change their outlook and swim? If they do change abroad, why can't they do so at home? That's a million dollar question. I remember I was on a flight from Lagos with a stop over in Frankfurt. You need to see the way people were acting so disorderly like illiterates. We got to Frankfurt and you need to see the way the same people started acting orderly and sane. I don't know if it's the naija environment but we change once we enter Nigeria. I would like to start by commending the positive projections and ambitions you have for motherland. I am sure majority of us feel he same way. speaking for myself, I feel very passionate about this too. The bolded above partly answers your “quoted” question. Let me just add something little to corroborate this, it is very simple; people require different skill-sets and behavior patterns to thrive in different settings. If you look at the prison system, violence (negative behavior) is what gets prisoners higher on the ladder of hierarchy. Generally, negative behavior has become the norm in Nigeria. Look at the political landscape, look at our institutions of learning, look at the judicial system, the police force etc The Chinese and Lebanese people you have sighted of being successful in Nigeria, do you think they are in Nigeria cos they love Nigeria? And I can tell you that the sort of illegal activities most of them engage in, they will never dare come close to half in their home countries cos they know the consequences. Sighting having a family as part of the reasons for not taking the bold step to move to Nigeria and start the changes you proffer to me, is a lame excuse. If middle class Nigerians with families doing well in Nigeria can take the bold step and move abroad can do it, you can do it too. Note, it is not everyone that remains in Nigeria that will make it, and neither is it everyone that moves abroad that will make it. This is a fact of life! You did mention that without taking the necessary risks, nothing happens / changes, I would say, let those who want to take the risk of traveling abroad do it, cos they will never know without taking the risk. This might even be the eye-opener they need to develop similar insight as you in terms of developing the urge to appreciate our culture, tradition and all the other positive things our country has to offer. And through this realizing how important it is for us to develop our country. Because shifting base presents people with the chance to see things differently. What you see in Nigeria, is that large majority of the people are just enduring and getting by in serious hardship, and too much endurance breaks people. That is why we have so many desperate people in our country. Despite this, I share part of you ambition, that there is always chances / opportunities to make progress. |
But what happened to all securities at the complex? Somethings are not adding up.They were on duty elsewhere sir, carrying hanbags for the sidechicks of the dishonourables & for succesful 419ner' & yahoo guys. |
..and he will employ the services of ignorant locals to kill all the animals just for the skin. Imagine how many of those poor animals must have been killed to get that much quantity on display. Africans we need to wise up. |

Na automatic thunderbolt dey dere body, anybody Dat try it will die. that was y d queen d ooni of IFE divorced had to go through some spiritual cleansing b4 she can go back to normal everyday womanBros, Which stone age era are you still stucked in? You think the only way to impregnate a woman is only by traditional papa & mama sex? With all the medical technologies / innovations around these days? Wise up man! |
Stop all this rubbish & waste of resources people. Upon all, electricity no dey, lack of good roads / infrastructures, no healthcare system, hunger in the land. So what positive things does this contibute to the community, State, Nigeria & it's people!? |

Those girls can do everything possible to keep a man.Bros, You don get potential client / abi na fan we go call am join o. Btw, are you related to MC Hammer ni!? Kilode. Hammering up & down. Still come and see expensive cars & lovely people o. Cool joint though. |
Very possible. There are so many ways to be physically intimate without penetrative intercourse. In a way, extended pre-intimacy is actually more sensual and heightens sexual pleasure Bros, So cos there is no penetration means it isn't sex? hmm... Definitions. I see. ![]() |
OP, Check: Philip Kotler |
Today Audu has been picked up by law enforcement agents over his advocacy about the killings in #SouthernKaduna and he is presently being held in custody.Alternative fact? ![]() |
@omenkaLives Thee panecea to this prerenial headache of subsidy is simply an aggressive push towards 100% local refining as this would not only create hundreds of thousands of jobs but would also save us scarce forex. To further corroborate your very sensible points on the need to have an operational refinery / refineries an its advantages to Nigeria: How did we come to the situation of oil subsidy? Nigeria has one of the largest deposits of crude oil in the world. When we had operational refineries, there was not need for subsidies on oil cos the oil products were refined locally and did not attract additional costs associated with transportation back and forth outside of Nigeria for refining. However simple and with it's overhelming added value to the development of Nigeria and reduction of the sufferings of millions of Nigerians, they still would not want to go that road cos it does not serve the interest of the 1%. What amazes me most is the fact that these people are so-called educated and they have not iota of shame fabricating stories to justify their position. While it is sooo glaring they are taking the wrong policy decisions for the obvious reasons. |
@joey150 I still and will always ask who finances these traditional rulers? Typical african mentality..Alafin go cruise for limousine and go back to ibadan to rule poor people living under the brownest of roofs.. (this is me not being tribal).. Adding no meaning and value to their lives.God bless you ! Africans only ask questions in hindsight. Just get someone to estimate the exorbitant lifestyles of these people and their entourage and the cost associate with it. You would not but be compelled to ask how it is financed. Just last week I posed the same question to my brother in Nigeria and he gave me the typical African answer: “no one asks the king where he gets his money from” not done! Then I was like, please tell me what positive contributions they make to the society / country at large. He could not name any. I don’t care if it is Yoruba, Hausa or Ibo king, they just connive with the useless politicians to hoodwink and loot the people’s common wealth. Of late they have a common competition tool, they compete with Roll-Royce. Each of those machines goes for between 100 and 150 million Naira and some of them even have a few of them. And no one is asking any questions. In case some people want to know what sort of activities these people get involved with that impacts the country negatively, if you listen to the Obanikoro Ekiti-gate tape, the name of the Owa of Obokun was mentioned in it conniving to rig elections. There was the episode of the Oba of Lagos threatening some people from a different part of the country to cajole them into voting for a preferred candidate. And of late we had the episode between The Awujale and OBJ. Constitutionally they are not accountable to the people. With their exorbitant lifestyles they encourage corruption and nepotism. People should start asking questions if we really want to move our country forward. |
@mekaboy Shey una dey see gtbank. This is third week and nothing yet. I am writing to central bank on Monday. What you should have done is, have them recall the funds and make fresh payment. But GT would have still charged you anyways. But you would not be in this perpetual limbo without knowing when it will be resolved. That is what GT myt be doing themselves or alternatively they might send a free format swift message to their correspondent bank to make adjustment to the payment request sent to them. That will cost another wahala and delay, that is even if GT does that on time. The company in China cannot see the money in their account, what is happening now is that the company's name has been mentioned on the MT103 as the final beneficiary, but since their account number does not tally with the account name provided, GT's correspondent bank will not credit their account with the funds. Sorry about you predicaments bro. Next time something like this happens, just ask your bank to recall the funds and make fresh payment, new charges will apply though, but you will be saved loads of headache and your money and goods getting stuck still costing you money. |
Gawd! When you think you have read / seen everything on Nairaland! But no! |
@Pidgin2 Thank you for your insightful post but I have issues with the bolded statement. Let's take India as an example, their government doesn't allow dual nationality and we can see how the Indians act in business especially. They travel to other countries, establish businesses but a good number of then they maintain their nationality as IndiansThank you for your follow-up response too. That is exactly the point my dear. India has put it’s house in order that is why they are in demand: India has a pool of young, educated people backed with the right infrastructures making India a very lucrative and highly affordably country for BPO activities for Western companies from Financials, IT, Legal, not to talk of call centers. My opinion was and still remains that, eradicating dual-nationality will not improve the lots of the average Nigerian and add value to our pp. You mentioned India as an example, but unfortunately, you have not been able to show that the growth India has been experiencing can be linked to the fact that it does not accept dual-nationality. Further, the companies that are migrating their business activities to India are not doing this because India does not accept dual-nationality. That is the least of their concerns. They are doing so cos of the reasons I mentioned above. I presently work with one such company. If I may digress a little, I can categorically tell and prove it that the Indians are not more intelligent than the average Nigerian. I have trained them and still work with them. It is just that we miss the final mix necessary to make Nigeria an important hub to attract companies to come to Nigeria. We have Nigerian Doctors, Engineer, IT experts who possess world class standard, but what happens is, most of the companies that require their services would rather take them out of Nigeria than bring the jobs to Nigeria for the obvious reasons. Interesting discussion though, I have been around a bit and it is my passion to discuss and rub minds on solution oriented discourse that can advance us as a people cos believe me, I am still of the opinion that we do possess the human and material capital it requires. We only need visionary people backed by the right mindset and enabling environment to connect the dots. |
@Pidgin2 In as much as i try to be positive in my approach to things in general, I am sorry I can’t think of any advantage to add at this point To start with, most of the top 10 countries of the world are countries that allow dual-nationality. What you want to do is, increase the mobility of your nationals as this will add to their value as human capital. Denouncing people dual citizenship will reduce / limit the mobility of your nationals. You mentioned that government will make more money on visa application, I beg to differ on this, the money Nigerian govt. will make as compared the foreign embassies in Nigeria will be peanuts. Even as it is presently with all the Nigerians with dual-nationalities, you might want to take a trip to the major embassies on a working day and see the queues there. On the patriotism and the value of the green passport, I find that very irrelevant and has no proven correlation. As someone noted earlier, if Nigeria creates the atmosphere for its citizens to take pride in it and be patriotic, Nigerians will be encouraged to make such sentiments theirs. Until the 1980’ Nigerians could travel visa-free to the U.K. and majority of Nigerians who studied abroad then returned back home at the completion of their studies. I think dual nationality also offers the chance to children born to Nigerians in diaspora who at some point in the future might want to come live & work in Nigeria and bringing along with them new insight, knowledge, exposure, technology etc to Nigeria. |
@Baawaa These people, they are all the same,I meant our leaders , political leaders, religion leaders, community leaders(which are traditional leaders).Majority of them are thieves and rogues.May the almighty continue to bless you bro!! It is now up to the Nigerian youth to realise / understand this and not take these people serious by seeing them for the bunch of greedy, myopic, ego-tripping clowns they are! |
this joke is tired na, get over it!!! Enof with d NCAN, Afonja, Igbos, and all. E no epp anybody. Thanks you! Not only tired, senseless too! Black people, Africans hating on one another I don't get it! You see this everyday here, it has become the norm. Blatant discrimination being spread on the net. I wonder what the moderators are doing! |
The Gods are not to blame |
@Ladiguy The Igbos perpetrates crimes to become successful and remain relevant in life .This reminds me of a chief in Ajao estate that was apprehended by the NDLEA years back . He was into tiles sales, but unknown to the public's ,he deals in illicit drugs. He was caught by the agency intelligence unit, after a close monitoring on him for several months . He attempted to ship drugs worths billions of naira from Nigeria to South africa. You still do not get it, so cos a few are into crime, does that make all igbos criminals? Crime is not tribe / ethnicity specific. We complain and cry discrimination (rightfully so) whenever we travel abroad and we get singled out cos we are Nigerians due to the crimes committed by a few of our compatriots. And I see this everyday here on this forum, it has even become a norm and something of pride. Discrimination is born of ignorance and lack of knowledge / enlightenment and you support this cos it is directed at a specific tribe? You are joking right or is it that you don't know better? |
@arma Na dem Igbos!!!Na dem Igbos!!!Na dem Igbos!!!Pls stop this nonsense!! The suspect is an individual. Do not castigate a whole tribe / people for the sins of a few. Will you be happy getting punished for crimes / offences committed by others!? And Nigerians blame the government for everything while there is no respect amongst the citiziens. Work on youself if you have sooo much hatred bottled up in you! |
@jagugu88li Have a lovely weekend! Thanks dear. Do have a good one too. |
@FreeGlobe so afonjas really hailed the dullard for that? With afonjas, Nigeria is cursed. You people need to get a life with your ethic / tribal bigotry!! Afonja this, flat head that, brown roof crap etc. Must you reduce every discussion to tribal / ethnic crap!? If you wanna spew your ethinc / tribal shaait open another thread and invite your like-minds and stop derailing the sensible threads created by others. Take your hatred and inferiority complex somewhere else. Grow up please!! |
Oba's cabinet and aides na. They're on his payrollBros, Can u also give us additional info on where he gets the money to pay all these pple since he takes then around the world too? Considering the price of flight tickets now & exchange rate. |
Abeg who caught who i can only see two unclad adults undecided one with a strong azz nd the other gat a flat chest lipsrsealedHmmm.. the strong azz just magnet yr eyes babe. U try. Hmm :-) |
@ificatchmodeh Jagaban made some political blunders..believe say he suppose don learn by now..Bros, Almost perfect analysis in my opinion, except for your last line cos as far as I am concerned, Tinubu is on his own. The guy is an absolutist that does not respect or entertain any views / opinions / insights that differs from his whether good or bad even for himself. And will perpetuate / sponsor violence to assert this. You know what they say about he who the Gods wants to kill..? And remember what heralded the begining of the end of the old European empires? Thinking and acting like you are an untouchable! We do not have leaders in Nigeria, we have extremely self-centered, thiefing individuals who knows no bounds in corruptly enriching themselves. What they fail to realise is, that the whole nation cannot survive economically and otherwise revolving around their families alone. If they are smart, they should have realised this long ago, but they ain't that smart, them and their followers keep running around in the same circle of poverty, violence and backwardness with no idea on how to escape from this vicious circle and find the way to progress / development / enlightenment. |
Bros, Pls listen to the poster that said you shld accept & make them commit to the 3 months agreement. He is really tlking frm experience. And i can tell u frm experience too, if care is not taken, you might end up losing double or more than the 3 month rent. I am tlking frm experience too. This is what they do, despite the notice, they can take u to court. On court date, they go and bribe court clerks & they keep posponing the court dates. In the meantime they are devoid of paying you rent since u hv served them notice. Even if u get a lawyer, sm of them conive wth the tenants. As we speak, i hv one owing me 6 months rent & i hv actually offered her to stay a whole year without paying rent, on the condition that she leavea after the one year. Fyi I hv a lawyer i m paying too. |
Good day all, I was wondering whether anyone is still following up on this very sad story, since I stumbled upon the below link shedding new light on the incident and what was supposed to have transpired (Though yet unconfirmed) http://gossipking.co/2016/08/04/remember-the-girl-who-was-caught-having-sex-flogged-naked-by-her-dad-heres-what-really-happened-that-wasnt-her-father/ The interesting new development is that there are names of people, places and timelines mentioned. Is anyone on Nairaland able to verify this? Please people, we should not only be here to talk about which of the Nigerian celebrities have the latest cars and fashion apparels. We should endeavour to tackle serious issues as this too. However uncomfortable it might be. We have to start from somewhere, we cannot allow such arbitrary and structural abuses to continue. We can do something! Silence to an extent might constitute consent in some cases. Can anyone confirm the names of the individuals and places mentioned please. |
Plenty sick people in Nigeria, chai! To imagine people are justifying this is just sickeningThank you! And when this is seen outside of Nigeria and they call us backward, we will start complaining! How can any sane person justify this! Two wrongs don't make a right! Recording naked images of that girl is just disproportional! |
