the mistake you made was that you did not take your time to discover her breaking point, she's reached her breaking point and she broke, I'm happy you said she was reluctant about visiting you again and you persisted then the poor girl honoured, one thing that made the whole difference was that SHE DID NOT SLEEP WITH YOU, though she must have Were Intimate with you in the past, but the moment she moved on, she did not allow you touch her even when you were sleeping together, not all women can do that, if am lying ask the guys here to tell you if they've slept with their ex even when she has another BF ( We often call it once there, always there). But she did not allow you, that even gave me the impression that she did not cheat on you for the period she dated you. SHe broke up with you long ago but was not strong enough to say it to you, some guys do that too. I want you to see that she's done the right thing, honoured your last invitation and still did not sleep with you. 4stars for that to her.Nice analysis. All the same, the babe should have played open cards all the way though, instead of having the guy go through the additional agony of having to find out about the other guy the way he did. |
$5.3 Billion!!!!!!!? Are those containers filled with diamond!!!! ![]() |
we all know some of those diseases are transmitted in other ways too. But, remove the spread by intimate intercourse and see if we wont be avn a reduced prevalence. The question was raised in the context of the topic being discussed. And the insight you wanna share relating to the question asked is? (bearing in mind the context in which the question has been asked) |
I don't think so, because they proffer religious solutions to everything. And religion alone does not have the answers to all questions! |
Hmmm interesting and thought provoking topic. Aside the emotional consequencies of such arrangements, I am actually missing an aspect that is practical and health hazzards related. How are these marriages arranged to curb/prevent the issue of spreading veneral diseases? Anyone insight? hmmmm |
Aren't these the same rating agencies that gave high ratings to all the complex financial products (CDS', CDO', Structured products etc) that are responsible for the current global financial crisis. Nigeria I dey laugh, lol GEJ, U know what to do, Diversify the Nigerian economy, we are too dependent on revenue from oil! |
@kulutempa Pot calling the kettle black. Isn't this the same fool who couldn't score against an open net at the last world cup? ShioGod bless ya! Exactly my thoughts! |
should't the CBN rather liberalize the forex market too? that way anybody with fx reserves can sell to nigerians |
OkeyXYZ, The bolded part of your post is a very good observation. It is public secret that the demand for forex in Nigeria exceeds it’s supply. Most of the reasons for this is obvious and we’ll save that for another discussion. The prevailing consequences to the Naira is that the Naira is constantly under pressure against major currencies. The CBN is often up-tight in conceding to the fact that they hardly can do anything about this, unless the core issues of dependency on fx is tackled i.e. diversify, enhance our manufacturing industry, crate enabling environment to encourage and enhance FDI, make sure we only import things that are really necessary and for which there are no alternatives locally etc. From an economical perspective, it is obvious that the Naira is over-valued against major currencies, that explains the reason why the CBN is not able to liberalize the forex market, in the event that they do this, the Naira will drop to it’s parity. The absence of liberalization, is also responsible for the thriving black market and all mallams at our airport in places as Yaba, Bristo hotel, Federal Palace Hotel etc. who are taking advantage of the arbitrage (A forex strategy in which a currency trader takes advantage of different spreads offered by brokers for a particular currency pair by making trades. Different spreads for a currency pair imply disparities between the bid and ask prices. Currency arbitrage involves buying and selling currency pairs from different brokers to take advantage of this disparity) that exist in the Naira. Only a few days ago, it was published in one of the dailies that the CBN may decide to allow the Naira to fall against the USD, of course it’s a losing battle so long the core issues are not tackled. To further go into the advantages of liberalization of the forex market, if the CBN in conjunction with major banks will put in place an easy and workable process of exchange; This will lead to more transparency, take away the manipulation of the aboki’, people will feel more at ease to approach the banks to SELL and buy fx from them. The situation as it is now, is that people like me are left to the mercy of abokis because they offer me higher value for my fx while this should be part of the services to be offered by bonafide banks. In developed economies, there are bonafide bereau de changes everywhere where one can easily walk in to buy and sell fx (with limits) |
SLS, Which kind grammar u dey blow o? When government takes active steps in allowing the Naira to drop against major currencies = Devaluation Where the drop can be attributed to market forces and influences = Depreciation So, going by the header of this post, it is being suggested that the CBN has been keeping the xchange rate of the Naira against major currencies artificially high. In that case, it's the beginning of a losing battle, 'cos Nigeria is far too dependent on import. And over 75 percent of Nigeria's foreign and total earnings are based on a product (oil) that is susceptible to a lot of factors out of the influcence range of the Nigerian government. In the event that the inevitable happens, depreciation/devaluation of the Naira, CPI (Inflation) rises and I see CBN coming in to raise interest rates to deal with inflation. hmmmm. But it will be good for Nigeria' BOP though. |
@Op I am not naturally into the lovie dovie posts here on NL, this one sort of caught my attention though. 'cos it is sort of not loud and sensational. It's innocence sort of intrigues me, and I must say you come accross as well-cultured, articulate and friendly going by your response. I think your time will come to meet a guy of your choice. You are cool the way you are from what u've shown of yourself in this post. Hope you not putting up a facade sha, lol, ![]() |
This said guy might not be her dad but he is the man that says he loves her and he's suppossed to know when his girl needs support and help her out, after im papa no dey bleep am naa,and if d girl says no sex till after marriage he will start to complain. Nairalanders face reality here please. You must be joking, ryt? I thought the guy was looking for a lady to love and ditto, if he was looking for sex in exchange for money, I guess he wld find his way to the nearest Ashawo joint / or get himself some "readily available aristos" Come on, where is your dignity and pride as a lady when you present yourself as a piece of toilet paper? And if you get treated as such, u will be the first to cry foul! |
Country of the CORRUPT, by the CORRUPT for the CORRUPT! |
call me, i am a lecturer at lasu. if u have any academic problemWhy are you asking people to call you? Shouldn’t the school have SPOC (Single point of contact) for such issues this will enable the school to take proper inventory and analyse the causes and look for proper and structural solutions. In case you are really willing to assist/help, u should channel this via the school itself and not on Nairaland, except you have other motives best known to you. Just saying o. |
Why on earth would you want to do that to yourself? It's good to love someone how about you loving your self? |
@ Horny4u I donot think the question is your acting or overeacting,You made loads of sense on your above response, with the exception of the bolded part. I hope you since stopped being so cheap after you left Uni. Hope you only had to do that to get through tough times in Uni and that you've not encountered any traumatic experiences in the process, 'cos u sort of sound tooshed now. Apparently it's not how you start, but how u end, ![]() |
@ OP, How is it going? Fink I know who you are, ![]() Generally, most Nigerians dn't consider it rude and offensive having lenghty telephone conversations while on a date. Rude! Rude!! |
YOU SAID IT ALL,MY BROTHER YOU NEED TO SEE OUR OUR 9JA GIRL DEY TRY HOOKUP WITH ME ON FACEBOOK. |
@Mekaboy, God bless ya!! Yeye people indeed! Fighting the symptoms and not the causes. Window dressing rubbish! , And the SLA thingy will only work in an environment where you have measures in place to measure progress made or otherwise. How wld such be measured in this situation? Just wondering o, YEYE PEOPLE, YOU WANT TO RETALIATE , THERE ARE WAYS OF DOING THAT. |
Hahaha, Nigeria, pathetic failed state! This is the first step, the next step will be: "Reps approve compensation package For Boko Haram!"Mark my words guys. Nigeria, when you think you've seen the worst, these guys will never cease to amaze us o!! |
@Pro01 And that's because most of these stingy ladies often sit in hotel bars gaping around foolishly for a guy that would buy them a drink and take them away; even to buy ordinary Maltina, dem no fit.I like your point, at least then u have an objective reason to select who you want to patronise your business or not, and not some arbitrary discriminatory reason. |
dont forget that it is their hotels they can let who ever they want in and throw out who ever they want out! even if it is a woman! Not when it can be proven that they are perpetuating discrimination based on sex! That is outright discrimination and it's unlawful! When we come to Oyinbo land, and we get discriminated based on colour, we will be the first to cry foul!!! I do not see any difference in this with other forms of discrimination, I stand to be corrected o. , And by the way, why aren't the men patronising the suspected ladies, addressed for "soliciting" if they are doing so in a place not designated for such. |
I feel the poster personally Im too emtional to even try this kind of friends with benefits nonsense I know I will get emotionally attached and only end up crying like a baby when it all ends@Lady T Yeah, I know they say it takes one to know one, But, it's also a way to have something close to a relationship without having to deal with the full agros.i.e. boyfriends/girlfriends family and friends. Finding the balance between emotion, physical thingy and ratio, U for try o, U never know, hahaha. lol, |
I really don't know what to think? Maybe the love interest is long distance? In that case, unless he tells me to my face that he doesn't want to see me again, i don't think i can stop seeing him. As someone said somewhere, he's my spec, and i don't think i can i meet someone like that again.@Poster, Well, if you say you are enjoying the physical thingy while it lasts, I might understand that: Friendship with benefits / flirtationship; less than a relationship and more than friendship or whatever you might choose to call it. But your above statement somehow suggests to me that you seem to have low self esteem, or how else wld you explain the fact that you allow yourself to be hurt purposely? You come across as well articulated and quite intelligent to me, if this guy exists, there will be more or even better guys than him in all aspects around. You will have to make yourself available to find out instead of sticking around with someone who makes you fell less valuable and human than you actually are. You above statement seem a statement of convenience and comfort, but on the long run if you look back in hind-sight, you might be so sorry to realise how low you really allowed yourself to be dragged. You might want to start rationalising your emotions, erection does not always equal love. |
@Poster, First you need to start stop feeling guilty for saying NO sometime and even learn to say NO a lot more. These people demanding money from you, part of their basic responsibilities in life is to take care that they design their lives in a way that they do not have to depend on others (Or else, they are parasites, with all due respect) You should avoid making yourself a VICTIM of other peoples un-realistic expectations of you. |
I know he still loves me and has realized the horrible things he has done.Poster, are you for real? In case you think he loves you, (NOT!) he definitely has a very nice way of showing it then I know most of you will tell me to leave him but it's not that easy, the commitment and the sacrifice i have made in this relationship would not make that so easy for me.Count your loses, and start investing in a happy, fruitful and fulfilling future for yourself. Don't let some loser cut your life short for your parent and the people who love you! |
@Buzugee yeah i had a rude awakening in dusseldorf germany. i went to a restaurant and they wouldnt serve me. of course this was the nineties. i had to slink out of that restaurant in shame after sitting for 30 minutes after everyone around me got served including all those who came after me. then it sunk in, dude they dont serve black people in germany so i skedaddled and never came back.Buz men, I was just wondering, if the same thing happen to you in Naija, wld you have reacted in the same manner? I wld have called them to order, your reaction was conform their expectations. They want to make you feel inferior and you gave in by walking away, and not letting them know you do not fit their stereotype of black people. Stand up for your self and demand to be served like any other customer, that has come there with his dough. I work in an environment where majority of the people I interact with are Europeans (Oyinbos), lol. The nature of my work entails working in projects, I have observed, that when some people walk into meeting rooms with me for the first time without knowing me, they get sort of taken aback, 'cos they are not familiar with meeting coloured people in such settings. (It's a natural animalistic reflex). (It's like bumping into an Oyinbo in the middle of the night walking the streets of Ajegunle). Then they get curious, and go like, "where in the US are you from?" (Oyinbo indirect tactics of asking where you are from), And I am like, Nope, I am Nigerian. The moral of my story is, whether they like it or not, they are forced to adjust their position about people from specific race. But we need to stand up and demand our place in the face of adversaries. |
E be like say den import some Asewos come this Film Premiere oooo, kai, se wo wo chicks, apart from 1 or 2 manageable 1's, used to like that Victoria Inyama babeTrue talk ma brother. And Genevieve, small tip; those legs of your may be considered sexy in some Naija settings, when u are on international stage, make u try conceal them small. When u dey with my brother DBanj, make you dey expose them any how you like. ![]() |
@Cap28 We have got to face up to the truth of our situation, nigeria was sold out to the west lock stock and barrell a long time ago, the current crop of nigerian leaders are NOT in a position to challenge the west because the west has been responsible for keeping them in power, the west provides them with military aid just the same way they did with Mubarak, therefore it is highly unlikely that the nigerian govt will turn around to try refuse any IMF proposals. Thanks for the above observation, Capo. lol. It's a very pragmatic presentation of the prevailing situation on the ground. However, going by the bolded sentence in the above quote, that was indeed the case with Egypt and Mubarak. The West did that in it's own interest i.e. Mubarak maintaining peace with Isreal and keeping the Islamic brothers in check. In the process, Mubarak excessively enriched himself and his cohorts losing sight of the plight of the average Egyptians; Unemployment rose, excessive corruption, nepotism, rise in food prices etc. Until the people said enough=enough! |
spot on bro, when we have idiots ruling us, why wont we be kicked around like football by shady international agencies set up to maintain the status quo. Sometimes people need to research under what condition such agencies like IMF,ADB,UN etc were formed to understand the nitty gritty of policies they come up with. Nigeria lacks the bargaining power hence they accept most policies hook, line and sinker. All to the detriment of the nation as a whole. Let heads come together and lets figure out our way out of this mess, oh!! thats just a far fetched idea of mine. I dont think the executive know what brainstorming or critical thinking is all about, well to say the least thats what the west think of African govts. Shell claims to have an official in every ministry in Nigeria with out the govt even noticing, it doesnt get any more embarrasing than this.Well said! On the issure of Shell, depsite the gravity of the seriousness of this issue, nobody seems to care. Well, it is conform the interest of the so called rulers, so they cld not care less. My question is, what are the journalists doing? such revelations wld have lead to parliamentary questions/enquiries in the developed world. We seriously need to get our acts together, hold the bull by it's horns and learn to direct our affairs. And of course IMF and all these agencies will publish all sorts of reports from time-2-time, the big question is: What are we doing to make ourselves less dependent on agencies/bodies that are not out there to protect our interest? |
@ kedukc Finally, economic variables - currency, interest rate, foreign reserve balances etc. can only provide short-term cushions -- Our spending has to go into things that guarantee future value i.e capital investment, I am of the opinion that devaluation makes it even more difficult to do this, hence my opposition to it.You seem to know your onion, but I am not quite sure what you mean i.e. Capital investment in this case. I am of the opinion that devaluation makes it even more difficult to do this, hence my opposition to itWhat’s your alternative suggestion? I am sure you are familiar with the term: Arbitrage in currency exchange rate, this is one of the reasons why the black market strives in Nigeria. Something needs to be done and urgently too. As some of the contributors have observed, our major fx generator, oil, is currently and has been selling above the budget-linked price, thereby generating excess foreign income than projected, yet the Naira is having serious difficulty stabilizing. |
Word Sanusi, Thanks for holding your own amongst all the organic/opportunist intellectuals we have in Nigeria. Kudo, for not allowing your intellectual and historical capabilities to be compromised by some pseudo intellectuals who do not want progress for Nigeria and are only out there trying to manipulate the populace for personal interest. |
