A problem working from small companies. Those working for big multi national comps wia they earnbig no get this problem. The top is so much betta.

The problem with 9JA offices is mostly from the competitive toxic co-workers going behind to slander and betray dia colleagues in order to get a upper hand or favor. It can be anybody working in the office, gate man, security, your co workers etc.

Just know some one has gone to fall your hand behind your back, when ur boss/mgt start giving u attitude. Some times the boss become envious too. We also have bosses who are just naughty (weak men/women) they just love to dehumanize their workers. Its part of the slavery trick.

Quiting the job is the best option for me.

Nigerian bosses too like gossips.

Politics / Chinese-owned Banks To Establish Operations In Nigeria by maximunimpact(m): 8:25am On Sep 22, 2021
Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchin, has said he is in talks with Chinese-owned banks to establish operations in Nigeria to boost Nigeria’s economy and expand trade relations between the two nations.

Mr Jianchin disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja while addressing journalists during the commemoration of the 2021 Chinese Moon Festival and China-Nigeria Cultural week, NAN reported.

He explained that establishing Chinese banks in the country would also be a point of discussion during the China-Nigeria Binational Committee meeting.

“Before my departure from Beijing to Abuja, I talked to several banks in China. When you list the world’s 10 big banks, six are in China. The banking sector is very important because, without money, we cannot build our industries,” Jianchin said

“What I am thinking here is best to talk to the governor of the central bank, and how we can allow the Chinese banks to run office here and now, they are doing the feasibility studies on that.

“I am working hard that in the binational meeting, I hope we can make a big decision and give a big push to let the banking industry and insurance industry because financial integration and institutions are key,” Mr Jianchin added. “If you go to China, you will find our banking industry is very powerful, not only for business but a change in the way of life.

Extolling the extant China-Nigeria trade relations, the Chinese ambassador noted that the trade volume between China and Nigeria was nearly $20 billion, increasing from 2020’s $19.2 billion.

According to Mr Jianchin, the 2021 celebration is special as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of China-Nigeria’s bilateral relations and that the countries share October 1 national day.

He disclosed that the Chinese embassy would honour 50 Nigerian employees of Chinese companies in Nigeria for their outstanding performance and contribution to strengthening diplomatic ties.

Business / CBN Announces Plan To Launch E-Naira Wallet, Reveals CBDC Guidelines by maximunimpact(m): 11:43am On Aug 30, 2021
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reportedly confirmed that its e-naira digital currency will have a legal tender and non-interest-bearing asset status. In addition, a limit on customer transactions and value-based transactions will be imposed.

Five-Stage Launch

The new revelations concerning the e-naira’s design as well as the operational module are contained in a document that was recently sent to banks by the CBN. The same document also shares details about the duties assigned to each of the parties participating in the e-naira program.

As explained in the report, the CBN itself will be responsible for the first part of the e-naira rollout. This will involve the issuing, distribution, redemption, as well destruction of the currency. In the second stage, which is called the Financial Institution Suite, “licensed financial institutions will be able to request currency or issue stablecoins.” They will also “manage digital currency across branches, KYC, identify and AML compliance capability.”

The Nigerian government will become involved at the third stage where it will “process digital payments sent to and received from citizens and businesses.” At the fourth stage are merchants who are expected to provide “low-cost payment and business management software, POS, remote payment solutions, online capabilities, transaction analysis and reconciliation.” The last stage, which is also known as the Retail Consumer Suite, will focus on the digital currency’s architecture.

‘Speed Wallet’

Meanwhile, a separate report says the CBN is now on course to launch a wallet for its digital currency. According to the report, this wallet enables the CBN to meet its goal of launching the e-naira by October 1, 2021. However, this wallet will not compete with existing banks. Instead, the Cryptotvplus report says it will “serve as a means to transact value, pending when banks and other innovators can provide their own wallets.”

The wallet, which is also known as the Speed Wallet, will have three tiers. The first tier is designated for Nigerians without bank accounts. However, access will only be gained upon the submission of “a passport photograph, name, place & date of birth, gender, address and phone number.”

Tier-two wallet users on the other hand must “own an account with an existing bank.” Users at this level “can only send and receive $400 [N200,000] daily with a cumulative balance daily of $1,000. [N500,000.]” The minimum requirement for this level is a Bank Verification Number (BVN). The third tier allows transacting daily to the tune of $2,000 with a cumulative balance daily of $10,000. Having a BVN is the minimum requirement.

Politics / FBI Trains Nigerian Cryptocurrency Crime Investigators And Prosecutors by maximunimpact(m): 4:12pm On Aug 29, 2021
The United States government through the FBI recently helped to run a training exercise whose goal is to enhance the capacity of Nigerian cryptocurrency crime investigators, the U.S. Mission Nigeria (USMN) has said. The exercise saw over 50 Nigerian investigators and prosecutors participate.

In its August 25 tweet, the USMN reveals that the training exercise was held in conjunction with the International Computer Hacking & IP Attorney Advisers (ICHIP) of Addis & Abuja. The mission also explained what the investigators learned from the exercise.

“Trainers shared patterns and trends in criminal use of cryptocurrency and described the various ways in which criminal enterprises use cryptocurrency,” explained the U.S. Mission Nigeria in the tweet.

This collaboration between the FBI and Nigeria comes as the latter continues to grapple with the numerous incidences of crypto-related crimes. Although Nigeria has had successes in tackling some crypto fraud cases or apprehending masterminds like Omotade-Sparks Amos Sewanu of the infamous Inksnation crypto Ponzi scheme. However, many cryptocurrency-related crimes in that country remained unresolved.

High Number of Crypto Fraud Cases

The high number of crypto fraud cases in Nigeria has in the past prompted bodies like the Nigeria Securities and Exchange Commission to issue public warnings or advisories that discouraged crypto-related activities. However, despite these warnings or the restrictions imposed by the central bank, Nigerian interest and use of cryptocurrencies continue to grow.

However, following the training exercise, officials now hope to turn the screws against criminals that have hitherto made Nigeria a safe haven for crypto fraudsters.

Business / BREAKING: Nigeria’s GDP Records 5% Growth For Q2, Highest Since 2015 by maximunimpact(m): 9:50am On Aug 26, 2021
Nigeria has recorded its third consecutive quarterly growth, NBS reported on August 26, 2021.

Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 5.01% (year-on-year) in real terms in the second quarter of 2021, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.

The NBS disclosed this in the latest report on the nation’s GDP entitled Nigerian Gross Domestic Product Report (Q2 2021) released on Thursday.

It explained that the increase in the GDP index marked three consecutive quarters of growth following the negative growth rates recorded in the second and third quarters of 2020.

“The Q2 2021 growth rate was higher than the -6.10% growth rate recorded in Q2 2020 and the 0.51% recorded in Q1 2021 year-on-year, indicating the return of business and economic activity near levels seen prior to the nationwide implementation of COVID-19 related restrictions,” the report read.

“The steady recovery observed since the end of 2020, with the gradual return of commercial activity, as well as local and international travel, accounted for the significant increase in growth performance relative to the second quarter of 2020 when nationwide restrictions took effect.

“Year to date, real GDP grew 2.70% in 2021 compared to -2.18% for the first half of 2020.”

But the real GDP (quarter-on-quarter) grew at -0.79% in Q2 2021 compared to Q1 2021, indicating slightly slower economic activity than the preceding quarter due largely to seasonality.

In the quarter under review, the NBS revealed that the aggregate GDP stood at N39,123,713.32 million in nominal terms – higher than the second quarter of 2020 with aggregate GDP of N34,023,197.60 million, indicating a year-on-year nominal growth rate of 14.99%.

It added that the nominal GDP growth rate in Q2 2021 was higher than -2.80% growth recorded in the second quarter of 2020 when economic activities slowed sharply at the outset of the pandemic.

“The Q2 2021 nominal growth rate was also higher than 12.25% growth recorded in Q1 2021,” the agency said.

Business / CBN Places Limit Of N1m Per Transaction For Microfinance Banks Loan by maximunimpact(m): 10:19am On Aug 22, 2021
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has pegged maximum loan limit for Microfinance Banks (MfBs) at N1 million per transaction.

The apex bank gave this directive in a circular to all MfBs titled: Cessation of non-permissible activities by MfBs”.

The MfB operators were also strictly prohibited from engaging in foreign exchange transactions.

The CBN further directed the MfBs to primarily focus on providing financial services to retail and/or micro clients, microcredit and retail transactions not exceeding N500,000 per transaction for tier 2 unit MFBs and N1 million for other categories.

Also, micro credit facilities shall constitute a minimum of 80 per cent of total loans portfolio for MFBs.

The apex bank also warned MfBs to desist from offering non-permissible activities, especially foreign exchange and wholesale banking transactions.

The regulator noted that it observed that some MFBs are engaging in non-permissible activities which pose risk to the financial system.

The circular, which was signed by the Director of Financial Policy and Regulation Department, Ibrahim Tukur, stated: “The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has observed the activities of some MFBs that have gone beyond the remit of their operating licenses by engaging in non-permissible activities, especially wholesale banking, foreign exchange transactions and others.

“Given the comparatively low capitalization of MFBs, dealing in wholesale and/or foreign exchange transactions are a significant risk with dire consequences for financial system stability thus, therefore, become imperative to remind all MFBs to strictly comply with the extant Revised Regulatory and Supervisory Guidelines for MFBs in Nigeria 2012 (the guidelines).

The CBN promised it will continue to monitor developments in the MfB sector and apply severe regulatory sanctions for breaches of extant regulations, including revoking the licence of non-compliant MfBs.

Investment / 32% Of Nigerians Use Bitcoin — World’s Highest Percentage by maximunimpact(m): 12:38pm On Aug 15, 2021
On Saturday, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey posted about Nigeria being the highest percentage in the world to use cryptocurrencies. The CEO seems to be surprised as he tweets “Wow: 32% of Nigerians own Bitcoin, the highest percentage in the world.”

According to Statista, Nigeria is indeed the first among the countries that are using/owns Bitcoin. Vietnam (21%) goes second, followed by the Philippines with 20%. Other countries included on the list were Turkey, Peru, Switzerland, India, China, U.S, Germany, and Japan.

Previously, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of Nigeria shared that he supports cryptocurrency.

In most countries, currency collapses have caused hardship to most people. Argentina, Brazil, China, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Indonesia, South Africa, and Lebanon, for instance, have all gone through at least one currency devaluation cycle since the 1970s. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a fixed and predetermined monetary policy.

Alongside Jack’s tweet, he also linked an open letter the US Senator Elizabeth Warren written by a crypto enthusiast. It can be recalled, Senator Warren has been publicly sharing her views against Bitcoin and the whole crypto itself. Thus, she’s been pushing tough crypto regulations in the Senate.

In the open letter entitled ‘Why Progressives Should Love Bitcoin: An Open Letter to Senator Elizabeth Warren’, writer Samantha Messing said,

As the Nigerian naira plummets in value, Bitcoin has become a necessity. 32 percent of Nigerians own Bitcoin, the highest percentage in the world. Furthermore, remittances into Nigeria exceeded $17 billion in 2020, and a substantial proportion of this value is conveyed in Bitcoin.

Lastly, she said, Nigeria has one of the youngest populations in the world. Thus, the writer believes this progressive cohort increasingly embraces Bitcoin. Ending her open letter with a handful of syllabus links regarding Bitcoin as she wants people to truly understand it.

Things I have Observed on the Portal thus far
#1 M.Sc. Exams registration per course now 3k. If you registered earlier with 2k per course, you may later see a deduction from your wallet balance. In case you see negative balance sooner or later, this could be the one of the sources.
#2 Download course materials link has been added to your exams registration slip. This great innovation will help clear issues of not knowing which course materials is the right one especially those with different codes on them. With this, you won't study or download the wrong course materials for your course.
#3 As at the time of this writing, ,100L second semester course registration for Nursing Students who began last semester are not available. When u see such, you are not alone.
#4 Exams registration is still not very straight forward. After registering courses for M.Sc Public Health... To register the corresponding exams, I had to select 700L to see some courses and 900L before I could see the rest to register the exams. I saw no exams under the 800L where I belong. In case u may think 900L was responsible for the 3k per course, even the ones registered through 700L option had charges of 3k per course.

Conclusion
Don't panic when u see new things, different things from what u used to see. If things are not working for you yet in your registration, kindly exercise some patience cos this is just work in progress.

All the best for the 2021/2 semester!

Please i need urgent clarification on this matter:

I am a direct entry student in mass communication, i have passed all my exams except project since 2015.

This week i registered for the project and i notice there's no record of my exams in the portal, how can i reconcile my program with NOUN to reflect all my registered courses and exams?

I know i need to go to my study center for this but i am very far away from there, i need to know how to handle this so when i travel down I will not be clueless on what to do.

Thanks for your anticipated response.
