Good day sir, got ur email from Nairaland, pls I want to explain my situation to. I used agent to apply for my Canada student visa. 2021 around 2022 I gave up due to how long it taking and told the agent to refund my money, which he refused saying that he already applied. So I gave up and focus on my life here. Around 2023 end the guy suddenly send me biometrics printout which I went for after much argument a month later medical and I was granted visa. Here is the problem now I asked him the tuition fee then and he told me 17500. Only too receive the admission letter some weeks ago it was cimt. Right now am confuse as I can't change school cos most schools tuition fee pass my power. Someone suggested to me that I school go for admission and run it the as am studying I should apply too another school and get visa extension at least 1 month to the expiration of this visa. While studying I should also be hustling it won't be easy but possible according to him.

> I just want your opinion on this as someone over there

[quote author=izibili44 post=128569603][Thank you very much. We want him to enter first before sending the food by cargo or courier. We can afford is accommodation if only we have an ideal.quote author=Maydaygirl post=128558553]

How long are you planning to cover the accommodation costs? Keep in mind that he can only secure Airbnb since landlords are typically unwilling to rent to individuals on a visitor visa. New permanent residents and students face challenges in finding housing, let alone visitors.

Have you arranged accommodation for him? If you're waiting until his arrival to secure it, he will end up on the streets. If you have significant funds for accommodation, why not consider legal options and stay in Nigeria while doing that? I hope he's not planning on seeking asylum. Search on Google for Abike Dabiri's visit to asylum seekers.

We are booking for him to leave next month. How much do you think he should hold as is pta

I cannot provide an exact figure, but given his circumstances (inability to work on a visitor's visa, lack of free accommodation and food support, and not bringing Nigerian food), it is expected that a significant amount of money will be needed.

If she has very high CRS, in the 900s for example, and her CRS will still be above draw CRS even without spouse IELTS (because IELTS expires and no longer counts) then she's fine submitting whenever.

Thank you.

IELTS is locked at AOR, they need to submit before expiration of the IELTS.

Please, I need clarification.

Someone I know received ITA today but her spouse's IELTS result expires next month. Does he need to retake it?

Should they submit their application before the expiration of the IELTS result to avoid the need for him to retake the test?

I have read through the first page of the thread but couldn't find any information on this.

Thank you.

[quote author=izibili44 post=128461269][Thank you so much for all the explanation i really appreciate your words. He dose not have any one in Canada to stay with. Can we arrange accommodation for him when he arrive. quote author=Maydaygirl post=128460555]

You can only secure short-term accommodation like Airbnb due to his current status. Please look up the cost per night in the city he plans to stay.

How old is he? which Province is he coming to? How does he plan to sustain himself? What are his intentions while in Canada?

Applying for a study permit while in Canada doesn't guarantee approval. He must apply as if he were in Nigeria and submit all required documents for international students.

Navigating Canada as a student or permanent resident without guidance is challenging, let alone coming on a visitor visa. It's advisable for him to reapply from Nigeria.

Thank you. I saw your message. Please is visiting visa not the right way to enter canada. My Little cousin just collected a visiting visa. The agent was paid money to get a student visa for my cousin. He could not get the student visa and went ahead to get him a visiting visa. The boy his set to leave next month to calgary Canada. Need your advise. to do student visa

Visitor Visa as the name implies is for visiting/tourist. Your cousin would have to leave after 6 months.

I strongly discourage him from coming to Canada on a visitor visa with the expectation of applying for a student visa unless he has someone, preferably a relative, willing to accommodate and support him throughout the lengthy application process.

It's important to note that many schools have closed their applications for the April/May session, and seats for the August/September session are filling up quickly. If he plans to apply for college or university admission upon arrival, he may not secure a spot for the current academic year.

His best course of action would be to seek a refund, either in full or partially, from the agent and apply from Nigeria, unless your family is willing to provide financial support while he's in Canada. Getting a job on a visitor visa is extremely challenging, if not impossible.

* It seems the agent did not originally intend to apply for a student visa but opted for the easier visitor visa application.

*If he doesn't have anyone in Canada to provide free accommodation, he should rethink his plans.

Guys please I need help

I have an msc degree, I'm 31, I don't have blood relative in canada but I know people in canada, I work in tech (I'm a Cloud DevOps Engineer AWS and AZURE), I have over 3 years work experience in Nigeria and I'm planning to write IELTS General soon.

Kindly advice with the best Canada PR route I should take. Also, when it comes to WES evaluation for me to get into the PR pool, will I do WES for my undergraduate degree? Or WES for my masters degree? Or both?

Only your Masters degree.

Hello seniors,

Pls how is life in new Brunswick when it comes to getting job especially for spouse that has been branch operations banker for 5 years on SOWP while wife, the student attends uni of New Brunswick.

Thanks alot

Go online and search for Jobs in New Brunswick. This will give an idea of the type of roles 'in demand'. Don't forget to also search by cities/communities. You can go to the career page of Canadian banks to get familiar with their roles, then tailor your resume to suit that.

Also, when you go to any of the banks to open an account, you can ask the staff attending to you if there's a job vacancy. Don't forget to be polite and friendly.

All the best.

Hmmm, thanks for your contribution sir/ma.
How then can someone manage seeking refugee with a visit visa, he is an electrical engineer with more than 12 years experience in the field.

You/him can use the EE route.

Just so you know, if he seeks asylum, he won't be able to go back to Nigeria, not before or after approval. But if his claim is rejected, he will be deported.

Did you watch the video of Abike Dabiri visiting asylum seekers in Ontario a few months back? If not, take a look. It shows what he might go through if he seeks asylum.

Please, come the right way.

At $100k a month, a 2500 apartment is already around 35-40% of monthly income. Anyone doing that is just asking for trouble in this inflation-ridden economy.

It's almost 50% of monthly income. It's absurd spending that on rent alone.

that chances of getting work while on VV is less than 5% . The same work you are applying for people with status like PR, study work permit, post graduate permit are also applying. If you were an employer would you hire someone that can resume immediately or someone you still have to process/ pay for LMIA/ work permit that may take 2 to 3 months to complete
Some have been lucky sha by going to remote locations or provinces, many are stranded and have applied for asylum. Others are packing their bags to return home.

Going to 'remote' provinces is not even a gurantee because people with status: PR, study work permit, post graduate permit are also applying for the same positions.

'Most' business owners who apply for LMIA here primarily use it as a means to bring people from their home countries. Unless he intends to go to those Northern communities with less than 700 residents where the cost of living is very high and the likelyhood of getting LMIA job sponsorship is exteremly low.

Coverting VV to WV is not as easy as 'agents' claim, many of them are aware but just deceive people. A friend's sister who came on a VV had to go back to Nigeria because she couldn't get a job.

Hello, I'm still here and they are using text message to enter and they are also using the first letter of your surname for collection, ie ID your surname starts with letter A or O you are to come on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. While other letters are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. If you come on a day that your surname doesn't fall you won't be attended to

I was there today too. I didn't receive any text message, I told the officer at the gate that my name is on a list I saw online for collection, he let me in. They were initially attending to people irrespective of the first letter of their surnames before the crowd increased, so they returned the slips they had already collected.
Unfortunately, my surname doesn't start in either A or O.
