Athena6: Last week I created a thread talking about how my japa plans have been crushed due to the increase in dollar.
Many adviced me to invest in dollar, this was the advice they gave me months ago but I did follow through because I wasn't sure. My last thread hit front page and 90% of the comments were advising me to invest in dollars, one even quoted that in the past 10 years, the dollar haven't fallen but it increases every year.
One even called me a weak minded person and I am scared to take risks. After everything I thought to myself, since so many people felt this dollar will keep on rising, maybe I should invest afterall life is all about risks.
Well guess what, dollar have decreased, I invested 3M in buying dollars and now in today exchange rate. I have 2.6M now and I either cash out now or hope it will increase.
Right now, I am very angry. Those giving me advice should come and contribute the 400k for me o
Another thing, do you think the dollar will increase or should I just cut my loses. I am so tired 😫 Bro! Why are you like this? Don’t regret buying dollars, I promise you it will hit #2k/$ soon. Price undergoes simple harmonic motion. That, it reverts back to a center of displacement when it has moved far away from such center. After getting to the center, it then moves much farther away from than it does previously. That's why USD/NGN pulls back. It gathers and stores larger momentum to sky rocket exceeding 1267. Furthermore, the force that is driving this price is much larger than the force Nigeria government is applying ro draw it down. Nigeria has spent 30+ years printing naira than she has tangible export that will earn foreign dollars, to support the volume printed. |

You hit a policeman's car, came out of your car and slapped him for an offence you committed...who does that?
I'm not a fan of the Nigerian police cos I've been a victim of their brutality in the past, but Seun's action was way overboard.
No doubt, this incident would not only humble him, but would make him watch his public and social media utterances.
Meanwhile he should enjoy his GO status...and who knows God might just use this incident to call him into the ministry. You have been a victim of police in the past but you still believe in what they told the public Seun did?? Broo! In your upside-down world, LUTH and our hospitals will get better when you, falz the G-Wagon fake activist and the rest of Nigeria ignore our hospitals and our institutions with our money to foreign countries to dash them our money to develop and keep improving their own hospitals and create jobs while yours remain the same lacking and ill-equipped hospitals?
Where is the sense and wisdom in the idiotic and nauseating rubbish you people spew just because you hate and loath your own country?

If the rest of us or your so-called private citizens carry all our money outside the country to patronize their businesses and services and create jobs and promote development, how's that helping your own country, your own businesses, services, jobs and development in Nigeria?
If you don't support and patronized LUTH with your patronage, do you have any moral right to even say anything about the government or other people? Do you think LUTH operates for free or get its equipment, supplies and manpower for free?
Always quick to point their rotten and hypocritical fingers at other people and political classes while doing the exact same thing.
hypocrites, unpatriotic and anti-Nigerian elements. This is the reason I said you sound so dumb. If you have visited LUTH or UCH before, You will understand they lack enough medical equipments to save lives even though we have a lot of medical practitioners here. Our politicians prefer to loot the funds instead of investing in our healthcare system and they run to UK to enjoy better medical service. As a “private rich citizens”, You will not want to endanger your life by using poor medical facilities which is caused by negligence of our selfish politicians. I hope you reason well because It’s not complicated. |

A better Nigeria is not just the government s responsibility especially when you call yourself an activist.
What's left of Nigeria if we all take our money abroad for treatment, leisure, education and so on or ship our money abroad to evade taxes and deny your economy and banking system needed money to lend to businesses, create jobs and develop?
This is the problem with you people, you are all hypocrites, you want a better country, but you are not willing to do your part, even the useless and fake crocodile tears G-Wagon activists are not willing to do their part or put their money where their mouth is.
Bunch of unpatriotic hypocrites.. You really sound so dumb! All the blames should be on our political leaders that has the power to build the country standard hospitals but they refused to loot our funds and travel to abroad for their health care. As you said, “You want Falz to practice what he preaches”. If your brain is functioning, you will understand if governments had built good and standard hospitals here in the country, Nothing will stop majority of rich private citizens from patronizing hospitals here. |

Romance › My Experience; How a Nigerian girl approached me. by mayDtolu(op): 9:22am On Jan 17, 2023 |
Earlier today, a stunning young lady entered the restaurant where I was eating. She sat next to me, like a regular might, and for a time, it seemed normal that she did until it didn't. She very immediately started making some feminine motions in my direction.
Her intense look cut through the vest I was wearing. She was approachable yet reserved, forward yet uneasy, and if she hadn't eventually made herself known, I might have done the same. She did anyway, but it was awkward and she stumbled over her words in the most innocent way possible, despite the fact that I really liked it.
In actuality, that marks the conclusion of this thread. She lost her temper in the nicest manner, and I think it's normal considering that women rarely approach guys while striking up a good convo. She eventually typed them on her phone for me to see, letting me know what she was trying to say. "Could I please have your phone number, sir?" It reads.
I'm still perplexed as to how she was unable to utter such words, but as I already stated, women initiating convos are not valued in this side of the world. Even better than I had anticipated, our chat continued for a while. And by the end of the day, she and I both had gorgeous smiles with mine reflecting, "I am in command." I find her admirable as I reflect on this.
To be able to think like she did, she had to put in a lot of effort. And I believe it is imperative that I leverage it preach to the ladies on here. We are past the point where it is a man's obligation to strike up and fit a conversation. Now, it's a two-way street. It takes the commitment of both parties to create a relationship that will last. In reality, most men aren't eager to click with women who rely entirely on them. |

Education › Re: Anabelle Oromoni, Sylvester's Sister Reacts To Autopsy Results by mayDtolu(m): 10:07am On Jan 09, 2022 |
othermen: Scientific results can be very prone to manipulation, not only because they require human interpretations, but even more so, because they are based on it.
There are certain procedures and results that are not so much prone, where such inclination is addressed by existing standards, validity and reliability.
But it is not an evidence of naivety if you think that interpretations of such can be very skewed towards the intended purpose of the examiner or the researcher.
It is so as to reduce such skewed interpretations, that seven pathologists with perhaps different interests had to probe into his body.
Again, most scientific procedures defers to authority. The ones that didn't, are the remarkable findings, that goes through rigorous and frustrating peer reviews that may sometimes demand decades to become established by the scientific community.
The scientific community has their norms, values and even a collective conscience, that sometimes a deviant finds that the structures can overwhelm if you attempt to dissuade it or persuade its established findings.
Imagine for the purpose of relation or appreciation: that our leading scientists and even the greatest scientists of different ages have built their findings on a certain proposition or assumption, which an emerging scientist have now found as flawed, because of the threat such finding may have to their reputations and life-time work, there might be some hesitancy to the truth; some rigour that will truly overwhelm the emerging scientist to lose bearing may even be orchestrated.
Although I have used the word orchestrated, such orchestration that overwhelms, may not be the intent or may be the intent of the agitated.
The medical field have an interest in being perceived as dependable and well-grounded, cases of false diagnosis, clinical errors, medical negligences are not so much investigated, unless by a resourceful relative or friend to the dead or misdiagnosed... because the effect of such false diagnosis may in addition to death of the victim, lead to withdrawal of such health-care provider license...so there are often little questions allowed to be asked.
In UCH Ibadan, which is foremost in the country, you can make a call through to anyone who has lost someone there, they probably weren't even met with sympathy in the relation of their loss, the fellow may not even see anyone to interrogate, and though a report is issued, the reports are so worded that reading it in your state of internal disarray, gives little meaning to settling such disarray. If it gives meaning, it would be to the extent of their callous dismissal, which is intently defensive and strikingly intended to absorb from any suggestion of culpability. And so, many have died, who shouldn't have, but we may not know.
The system however, is not built and made in such a way, that we can probe adequately to understand not just how this is so but if this is so, but it is an hypothesis you can test. In probing, it is the same medical field that is accused that we defer to and the medical field aside its interest in being perceived as dependable and well-grounded, is also skewed by interpretations in relating its suggestion as to the causes of its finding.
Imagine for purpose of relation or appreciation: that I have worked with KPMM for a better part of my life, but my work has affected my health, in such that, my fixation on the computer screen and the lighting of my work station, have now damaged my eyesight.
''My doctor said this may be so. I relate to KPMM my condition and beseech its assistance in redeeming my eyesight which was damaged in its service. KPMM responds and knows such assistance would only lead to endless law suits by its former employees who may cite whatever current health predicament they have as a failure of KPMM to provide a safe work environment.
Aware of such tendency to weaponisation, KPMM does not decline my solicitation for help right away, they invite me to meet with their own doctors for an examination or confirmation. Their doctors, who are much more renowned than mine in the field then establish that my eye condition or predicament cannot be linked to KPMM, that although it is as a result of exposure to light or non exposure to adequate lightning, but the light from my computer screen in KPMM is standard and adequate and not hazardous to the eyes. Their examination report is worded with the support of KPMM lawyers.
Now, it is the aspiration of any doctor to work with the KPMM medical consultants and he defers to them in the end. The consultants are the foremost in the country, they have among their directors, the leading professors in optometry and ophthalmology. No bank will give a loan that would help afford a medical report, so superior. The government hospitals do not even have the facilities for such examination. ''
Such relation above is the reality of many and may be the reality of Oromoni, science would not come to their aid unless afforded. Financial resources would; such financial resource has perhaps aided the college, but if the family spend more, the result can also be skewed to their intent.
It all underscores the necessity of financial resource to medical justice. Nice write up! I had to read it twice to understand the point. You revealed exactly what’s going on in the medical section, I can testify to that of UCH so well. More wisdom |
