@Sunnshyn
 Hope you are no making plan to leave your boyfriend because you seem to have concluded on his stingyness even in marriage. lol
@Daffydoc
  I like you post. You seem to understand the situation better than anyone

Generally, I do not think Naija men are stingy. They are truely caring but when you get faced with so many demand, there is tendency you will slack from giving. Naija women have configured their mind to believed than men has to foot their bills.It preposterous! In the western world, even in most African country, ladies can not openly ask for gift or money. Common, no matter your race, you will always appreciate gifts. That is what men do here. But some of these well appreciated gifts are small in value. For instance, I recently bought a bracelet of £1 for a white chick and she was all over me with emotions. She just appreciated the act of giving not the worth. But, there are still so many white gals here after cash like naija.They could get you laid for a ride in your brentley! Don't be deceived. White peeps adore moneybut its doesn't control them. they can still kick your ass with it. There is a limit to which they could tolerate you. The reason is not far-fetched. Income distribution is fairly even. A barber would earn more than an engineer hear if you own the shop! seriously! A girl washing plate in the restaurant earns as much as any graduate. If you work, you really don't face money stress be you a graduate, high school leaver, capenter or anything! . For example, a girlfriend of mine just bought a car doing waiter in a restaurant. But this is not so in Nigeria. Most work don't pay your bill. So that is how money asking came into play. In china, you need to have a house and all kind of riches before you can ask to marry a woman. Indian and Iran are no different!

Again, you can't exactly compare Nigeria with western world. You marry women in court here and keep paying attention to her needs. Carry the baby, push baby trolley, do dishes and cook for her. If you mess up, they would sue and take all your money and put you in prison. In naija, women do not exactly have security in marriages. They are left at the mercy of men. So let them grab their piece as they can now. In the end, Its is African women that have it hard. I really do pity them. My heart goes out for them.

@Dr Felie

I just wrote this to Ajanlekokok. He is a great guy. But, I will like opinion too as it realates to oil and gas.
I recently got a lecturing job as Graduate Assistant in one of the Federal Institutions in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and luckily for me, I have also secured a scholarship award to study for master in the Uk.
But my challenge now is the course to go for as I have two admissions. This is where I need u my chairman!

1. MSc Design of Rotary Machine in a non too recognised wholly postgraduate university, Cranfield University. Rotary Machine knowledge will allow me to start my specialization from now. It consist of gear, bearing, pump and compressor design. This could get me consulting for manufacturing industries including the revered oil and gas sector. I may also go on my own with sales and maintenance of pumps and compressors and if I am to dream big, could manufacture same for the Nigeria market. Proper Local Content Law could help me here esp for contracts

2. Msc Mechanical Engineering in world renown school (UCL). Here, I will be going over all of my undergraduate knowledge again and beyond. this will shapen my delivering at lectures and allow me to understand my department very well before I go on to specialize during PhD. This is the trick. I will like to do my PhD at harvard or MIT. A good result from UCL will get me there, something am not too sure with cranfield. Again, Nigeria seems to attach importance to school either in the industry or academics(this is my thinking! am i wrong?).
So what do u advise chairman? I have till Monday to make this life-changing decision

Thanks very much. Your advices are always on point! I am also connecting with UCL too. Just that I like to have industry experience by the side. In academics, u could take leave of absence up to 10yrs. And was thinking Rotating Machine MSc could do the job finding faster as rotating machine is the single most important machines in the industries especially in the oil and gas sector.

off-hand responses have actually been of immense benefit to me.

haba! That guy is bad and good. He is the kind of man that lords over his subject. If he doesnt love you, he wouldnt have done all he did for you let alone marrying you. It is too late to leave now. You would have left before you got your job. Because you dont know where to stay then, you lived with him and gets all you could get from him to survive everyday. You were not mad with him enough to ditch him. Now, you are comfortable, your happiness now lies in your leaving him. That is selfish!

Aint you happy now that you are in control of your life or you want to put your life again under another man's control when you eventually leave to find your suitable man. There is something I noticed about women. They want men to forgive them when they have done the abominable but find it difficult whenever the table turns. A lot of double standard in this world of men and women!

The man could have genuinely repented of his action. It is always something that triggers repentance. Either because of what you hear or see. Even if he pretends, dont u think you can now control him now. Just wait until you meet another man. Am sure you would not be able to escape from a gold-digger

While is everyone here acting confused. This kind of marriages with over 30years age differences abounds especially in naija and especially with northerner. When I did my NYSC service , I see 50+ men marrying 12+ ladies if I can use that word for them.

To be fair, young girls in their 20s are dating 50s, 60s and 70s old men. It is everywhere. They dont even hide it. You guys are probably involved with one. I implore you to calculate the age difference between you and that man you are cheating with.

This is your day. Let nothing hold u down. I cant afford to be confused by now. Whatever you do adds colour to the occasion. Congratulation.
