Swissheart: Firstly, if you kill a man, you'll go to jail and render the kids fatherless so take it easy.
Secondly, your mom wanted to give the twins mark on their faces, their father wasn't pleased with it and he came to pick his kids from your mom. That is also not a problem because he is their father, he has the right to. You mentioned it yourself that he has the finance to take care of them too.
The only issue here is that the man wants to cut all ties with your family, that is what you all have to address. Fighting him, insulting him wont work. You guys should remember he has lost his wife too and he hasn't even gotten over it. Why prepare for battle with a grieving man?
Your mom should talk to him with all sincerity and love. The love you guys have for your late sister should be the basis for whatever you are doing for her kids and to her husband otherwise that man will take those children away from you people for life. Very sensible contribution |

sisisioge: Hmmmm....when sex is off the table, the marriage is already one leg out.
Biko stay our of their business. Here is what will happen anyways...
1. He will stay focused at home for another few months until he meets a girl he likes, fall into her cookies jar, stay in there a happy man, come to terms with madam cookie hoarding, dont bother her at all until madam realises that its been 7 months without him pestering and decides to catch him. She catches him and all hell breaks.
2. He stays focused at home until December when he does his yearly reflection and decides he couldn't continue. He starts actively fighting with madam for the lamest reasons. They drag it until next year June before openly deciding that they do not love each other anymore. Everyone either goes their separate ways or they stay indoors as roomies. Poor children!
It is well...why would anyone marry someone that doesn't turn them on like a switch? May God help us. Like switch! Lesson. How did you come about your philosophy? Just curious |

Kizzygentle: Well the wife rightfully owns d front seat, there shouldn't be a debate on that. The moment a man marries, his wife becomes his first priority. You all that try to use mum to blackmail guys about how your mum should be over your wife are all unserious people. Don't you know your wife is also a mother to him and the children? What a wfie does to d husband, the mum can never do that. The mums role finishes d moment her son gets married though the mum still has her place as the biological mother which is normal. But the lady should d have just allowed d mother be in d front seat since she was already there. Its just courtesy. It seems a mother takes all the trouble and pain to raise a successful man and get thrown aside when the man started being independent from your analysis. Maybe men should rethink marriage. Marry after you have been successful for sometime so you can show your mom love for all the trouble she went through for you before you bring a woman that will take all the love away. While I agree that some MIL may be aggressive, this particular must have axe to grind with her MIL otherwise, she won't be this openly disrespectful to ask a woman as old as her own mom to come down from a car so she would have the seat. She only wanted to insult the woman and disrespect her husband. |

There are divers' unit in Nigeria navy. So you can be recruited into navy to be diver. The fastest way to get into navy is to gain admission into NDA (Nigeria Defence academy). In the US and UK and Canada, you can join the military anytime because they have rolling recruitment. But N500k is very fair to learn diving and be certified diver. You can use it to earn living. How much do students pay to private university in a semester? Most oil companies have divers and they are paid well. |

The students provide all these monies. |

murphyibiam15: If you need them most then your government should pay them.. Nothing is free afterall your SINators and useless politicians are earning bogus amount for doing nothing.. Nigerians hate themselves eh I partially understand your point but I wish you were not so hardened in your thoughts. Nigeria do not have a visa on arrival agreement with UK government. If there was diplomatic communication between the two countries, that can be understandable or at the worst, they have a note verbale. Anyway, Nigerian doctors are almost trained free in Nigeria. In US, you can spend $400,000 to $1,000,000 to train as a doctor. That should also be considered when you talk of salary difference. Doctors are the most elevated public officials in Nigeria. When graduate starts the civil service at grade level 7, Doctors starts as a principal officer level of Grade level 12. It will take you 16 to 20 years to get to that level when you are a graduate of other disciplines. I am trying to remove emotions from my thoughts. I am not jealous. All my siblings and their wives are doctors. |

Johnson5258: You've points but not well presented, this is a bill on tertiary institution sexual harassment, not office which is not biased, however it was based on BBC eye report so that's it's basis. It's unethical for a lecturer to date a student, in onr way or the other, the student will be intimidate by the lecturer, marriage is different. Marrying a student wasn't debarred, if any lecturer wishes to marry a student, it's fine let them go ahead, what's the concept of dating between a lecturer and a student? That's a subtle way of sleeping with the student, which yeye consent? Everywhere in the world, there is no bill addressing sexual harassment separately for university and other workplaces. There is only one bill for it. It is a supervisor-subordinate work relationship bill. The bill is known as Tile IX in many countries of the world. Our legislators needs to look into what it is about and tailor it to suite us. It is easy to X-ray university than workplaces but the dangerous effect of sexual harassment in both situation is in same dimension. My frown is on taking a part from a whole systemic corruption. They should fix sexual harassment at once, not just in university. But one know why they won't - because they too and their proxies engage in sexual harassment in workplaces. That is why the ASUU president said it is a biased bill. To answer the point you raise - If consent is waived, a lecturer marrying a student would be a crime. How can you marry anyone without dating. lol. However, the bill is a starting point. It addresses fundamental rot in the university. I work in academe as a faculty and I know firsthand the pains it brings to student. On the flip side, many female students become less-studious knowing that can sexually influence a lecturer to gain grade. So this is a first good step putting sanity into the system. |
