Don't do this type of comparison at all. The lowest work in the US can get you $50 per day at minimum wage. How many people earn 50K in Nigeria in a full month? Certificate should be free. Sorry for not giving you direction. There are divers' unit in Nigeria navy. So you can be recruited into navy to be diver. The fastest way to get into navy is to gain admission into NDA (Nigeria Defence academy). In the US and UK and Canada, you can join the military anytime because they have rolling recruitment.

But N500k is very fair to learn diving and be certified diver. You can use it to earn living. How much do students pay to private university in a semester? Most oil companies have divers and they are paid well.

Government don't collect tuition from federal universities in Nigeria. It is the various institutions that charge service fees. The government pays all university lecturers and provision of equipment without recourse to any of the paid fees. A private school or foreign institutions must break even and make profit to survive. The students provide all these monies.

I partially understand your point but I wish you were not so hardened in your thoughts. Nigeria do not have a visa on arrival agreement with UK government. If there was diplomatic communication between the two countries, that can be understandable or at the worst, they have a note verbale. Anyway, Nigerian doctors are almost trained free in Nigeria. In US, you can spend $400,000 to $1,000,000 to train as a doctor. That should also be considered when you talk of salary difference. Doctors are the most elevated public officials in Nigeria. When graduate starts the civil service at grade level 7, Doctors starts as a principal officer level of Grade level 12. It will take you 16 to 20 years to get to that level when you are a graduate of other disciplines. I am trying to remove emotions from my thoughts. I am not jealous.
