Please recommend scanning tool to purchase for personal usage on transmission and engine faults in 05 Toyota Tacoma access (auto)

Golf 3 didn't come on this morning. Called a mechanic and he suspected the plug and/fuel filter. It's a Tokunbo, and I haven't really driven it.

He managed to bring the car online by pulling on a cable in the bonnet while I was revving it.

We drove it to his shop (Jibowu), I bought new plugs and filter, but the car still didn't come on as expected. In fact, the pulling of that mysterious cable isn't helping anymore. The mechanic has serviced the nozzles to no avail.

Basically, the car just coughs when we try to start it. Anyone have any idea?

A Rewire Is trying to solve by elimination, but no one really knows.

Your mechanic is working blindly. What has a non starting condition got to do with servicing of nozzles

Does this car crank @ all?

Have you tried running a diagnosis/scan

Thanks all for your input. Car issues like this can cause lots of headache really. It still baffles me that a 2009 accord, V6, is having this kind of issue

Well, the mechanic said i should replace the ENGINE TOP and the incessant cutting will stop. I still think this is not an issue with the engine or the top rather that of the pulleys or bad belt as already mentioned.

I have decided to move the car to another mechanic tomorrow. My problem is getting a good and experienced mechanic, especially here in the east. What we have here are bunch of ''try your luck'' mechanic.

I still need more suggestions to aid my quest for solution. Is this really the problem with the engine top?

Your mechanic will need to examine d teeth of the rollers and ensure they are properly aligned. That's my 2 cents

my toyota 2001 model has that engine check light for over two years now,it goes off whenever I change the battery but comes back afterwards..my mechanic seems to be cool with it..please do u think there is something I should do to avoid any issue in future or is it cool,cos the car is giving me no issue.

I REMOVED D GEAR BOX TOOK D CAR TO OYIGBO AND SPENT ANOTHER 1MONTH TO FIX D NEW GEAR BOX, DOU THE ENGINEER DAT FIXED D GEAR BOX TOLD ME I BOUGHT A GEAR BOX DAT HAS BEEN WORKED ON UNKNOWINGLY TO ME.
D GEAR MASTER CHANGED D FIBRES, ASE, AND EVEN D CONVERTER, ON COUPLING D CAR D PROBLEM PERSISTED.
AS I SPEAK D CAR IS STILL IN MY COMPOUND COS I CANT USE IT AGAIN FOR THE GEAR BOX NOT TO B FAULTY AS D FIRST 1 DID.

D CAR IS V6 HONDA BABY BOY.

The asc light, abs sign and slippery road sign on my dashboard are not going off. I wont find time to review the manual before saturday.

Any insights or suggestions before i take it to the garage will be appreciated.

well I @ dis point I can swear dt I did call d mister chucks dt gazzuzz gave me his number. But he's fairs was jst so high on me, so I hd 2gt 2 a frnd who owns a diagnostic scanner and it is dt same scanner I've used 2gt all of des details am gvng 2u guys. Thanks all d same 4ur continous assistance here. I tink i'll hv 2gt a new O2 sensor again, nd also d EGR. I jst pray I gt it right dis time. Pls whts d full meaning of M.A.P please

It's not an obd2 complaint vehicle but all signs are the o2 sensor is bad..now all the kazeems don't seem to know what an o2 sensor is..can anyone please describe the location for me?

Am suspecting one or more of your engine mounts...Try to inspect all of them to check they are in good condition.

O2 sensor is still bad. M.a.p is not connected(fuel consumption will extremely high) Egr is not working.

Fix these problems and car will be fine.

@mayor2013...Thks for ur advise.i did a scan,only error noticed was 2nd cyclinder misfire.which has been.corrected.I guess have to chck d tranmission filter as proposed by you.

Thanks to all of you who by one way or the other have helped me to solve the issue of my car. Yes Tundex I've gotten the CAT below the car, I found out that they stole the content of it. And after scanning my car, I got an error code of EGR insufficient. And also Air/Fuel sensor circuit malfunction. But after fixing all these my car still consumes excess fuel. And I just went and scanned my car yesterday with these following error codes: P0105 manifold absolute pressure/barometeric pressure circuit. (2). P0401 Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected. (3). P1133 Air-fuel sensor circuit response malfunction. Thanks! Please i'll be extremely happy if anyone can advise me on how am going to solve this issues once and for all, because am just so frustrated now. Thanks as I wai
