If it's that and it's bad the car would never start.

Table your points nicely and accurately so that you don't mislead people. What sensor are you talking about.as far as I can remember there are more than 50 sensors on that car. Be specific sir

Your car might have gone into lock mode. When you put the car on first ignition does the key light(green) go off or remain. If in lock mode you might need a scan tool to unlock for it to start

I hope your wires are not devoid of its insulators. If they are tape proeperly to prevent electrical Spikes

I'm also having gear issues.

I have a 08 outlander which was still mobile but with a tired engine. Changed the engine recently and car runa smoothly except that my auto gear box now disengages in motion once in a while.

Scanned the car and got p0729 (incorrect gear 6 ratio) Some mechs I met said I have to change the gear box. Others say it's an electrical problem.

Car still runs smoothly except for the odd gear slips which is irritating. Is it really an electrical issue or do I have to change the gear.

An electrical problem would never cause a transmission to slip out. Never seen any. Most likely cause is mechanical as a result of using wrong trans fluid. What type of fluid have you been using. Palm oil?

mayor u use a car built for war, corrola 2003-2006 catalyst does not get blocked in this model, if there is any restriction, engine burns out the catalyst completely and you are left with an empty port.

Have not seen the Boko boys used it for war

Cats would damage by default over a period they are not built to last for life. What car is this by the way?

I still do not believe in the fuel ish that damages o2 sensors and catalytic converters I have my car running for 4years never have I changed my o2 sensors. Misfires, wrong use of engine oil, wrong use of spark plugs and just to mention a few are the major destroyers of these components

Good afternoon guys,

The check engine light came up on my Camry 09. The ABS light also comes on after driving on an increased speed for a while.

Had it scanned today and got the following codes:

P0420 - Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
C0205 - Front speed sensor LH circuit
C0200 - Front speed sensor RH circuit
C1330 - Open circuit in right front speed circuit.

The mechanic says the last three codes will be cleared after we change the defective sensors.

For the P0420 code, he advised importing new CAT and O2 sensors from outside the country as the best option (the prohibitive costs given the exchange rates make this an unlikely option at the moment). Besides, he says after the change, there's no guarantee the CEL won't still come up after some time given the fuel we use over here.

I read something on an earlier thread by adanny01 about using spacers. More info will be needed on this please. This is my first car and I as yet don't have much DIY experience.

Yes I was. You would need to fix a lot. 1st is the knock Sensor located on the cylinder head. Second is your airfuel sensors located along the exhaust manifold and along o2 sensors located along exhaust. Thirdly is your variable valve timing intelligence located at extreme right hand when standing in front of vehicle. Pix loading soon

02 sensor would lead to excessive fuel consumption because there is nothing to report to ecu to determine th Exact amount of fuel to be dumped into the combustion chamber. So therefore airfuel mixture would not be in the right proportion(14.7 :1).

As for oil leakage. It could be e from valve cover seals, camshaft seals, oil swump seals if any, crankshaft seal not likely on this model. I hope you had been using the right oil from the onset. The 1mz-fe engine is prone to sludge which in turn can cause oil shortage. Be sure of where the oil is leaking from externally first

Pls I don't want to go back to this issues or trying to narrate all that happen,the point which we are talking about here is not a hiding place ,or unsecured place, any one in abuja know that kubwa road is the popular place where car are been sold just like BERGER AUTO MARKET IN LAGOS,when did that place became a hotspot for car snatching, I was only suggesting there cos his address in kubwa was very difficult for me to trace. I'm currently having the same problem on my Camry 07. When it gets hot it stops selecting. Filer and oil has been changed and when the sump was opened there where no particles or dirt just black/burnt oil. People have saying there's no guarantee on a new gearbox cos it could also be a repaired one. Wahala dey ooo

Replace gearbox. Burnt oil indicates that there is an internal damage
