Hello guys in the house. i need help with my car(camry LE....2007). i am having gear issues and i need advice on what to do. it started 3weeks ago after my mechanic changed the metal bearing in my car and he brought in back with gear issues. when i put it n drive it moves well but struggles to switch to gear 3. took it to a mechanic they said "gear sensor" and another said the gear box is bad. pls if anyone in the house knows a gear specialist or suggestions as to fixing the issue pls help

With this array of codes, it could be the ECU really.

But before he proceeds to replace ECU, he should ground a couple of TPS pins and see if some if the codes change. If they don't, then my money is on the ECU.

The scan tool was able to pull out errors but when he connected two other devices that looked like computers to program the ECU, he got a communication failure message.

All these codes on only one car or are we talking about two cars here kindly post the description to the codes. Has the ecu been changed that he wants to programme the ecu

Hello Nairalanders, I have a problem with my murano. The car starts and revs fine but won't throttle even when you pedal all the way down. The code suggests it is either the injector head or pedal position sensor. I was asked to reprogram first to see if it will correct the problem but the programmer said he couldn't communicate with the ECU after trying with three different equipments and then concluded that the brainbox is dead and will need to be changed. My dilemma is if it is the brainbox, how come it's starting very well and running except that you can't throttle the car. Any ideas, suggestions or solutions is welcomed. Thanks.

Post your scan result here.But something just caught my attention if he says he couldn't establish a communication between the scan tool and the ECU. how then was he able to pull out a fault error or was he guessing

I will be objective here. I think the fuel pump didnt fail. It wasn't properly fixed. So on filling the tank, it started leaking from the top. The pump is still good. I don't see how changing fuel pump will fix oxygen sensor code. But oxygen sensor code may not lead to car dragging. So autologic may have good reasons for changing the pump. NanaF, I think I wouldn't blame autologic even though I believe he is a textbook technician. If truly he replaced fuel pump based on oxygen sensor code, then he has a blame there. But again, I doubt it.

Don't you fink the complainant's tank might just be leaking upon always filling his tank to the brim. Have seen enough cases like that especially if his tank is the ironed type. I personally feel if the pump wasn't fixed properly fuel odour would have been perceived right inside the car which he never stated also the said car might lack performance due to unfit positioning of the fuel pump

Op get a good mechanic to check the cups from the gear box if it has groove and the condition of inner shaft bearings. You may have to change the cup or inner bearing or both. Ensure that the mechanic loads it with enough grease. If the inner shaft boots is broken get an original one or toks boots. The cheap ones easily breaks and you loose lubrication from there.

What do you consider as enough grease? Over greasing make grease force its way out of the boot thereby destroying it in no time. Just some substantial quantity is okay

There is a separate junction box for ground connections.Bcm is on high speed data bus connection which means if faulty vehicle would never start

You could have a leak along the evap line. You need to test where leak is coming from. This leads to escape of gas hence the fault error. Also check your canister box

Check for engine oil leaks or stain or fluid such as transmission oil and powersteering oil around exhaust manifold.

I have been using an ORIGINAL Hankook close to 3 years now and it still show no signs of weakness; can travel for more than a week without disconnecting battery terminals.
It really depends on getting a GOOD BRAND, ORIGINAL and FRESH.

"Good brand" explains itself so no need for explanation.

For original, battery sellers do a lot of shoddy things e.g. selling a 60AH as 75AH (they swap stickers) etc. When I went to buy my current battery, I first got some other car parts and asked those car part sellers for a shop that stocked genuine batteries; all without fail mentioned a particular shop. Now this was the car parts market at Nnewi where you have loads of battery sellers (importers sef). Truth be told the batteries at the shop cost a bit higher but seller assured me they were genuine. It's been good since.

Fresh: Batteries are perishable and have expiry dates. On a lighter note batteries can be likened to tomatoes. This is why Duracell batteries will have a date stamped on it e.g 2020, 2023 etc. So when buying a battery you must learn how to read the production date code. Its usually something like 5F3Y90 where 5 means 2015 and F June. Some makers will reverse the 1st 2 digits. Sellers want to sell older batteries first so be on the lookout.

The final thing I do is that I insist on the sellers doing a load test on the battery. If it comes out weak or needs a charge I don't buy.

Was the right battery used. If you use cheap batteries you would have a problem like this with the remote fob

Thank you all for the replies. The key was cut by taking out just the keyhole on the door. I just wanted to be sure before going through that route to cut the key. Thanks again.
However, I have another problem. I asked that two keys be gotten and programmed so I can have a spare. However, after the programming, just one of the key fobs works well. The car does not open automatically when I come close to the car with the second key neither does the car start unless I bring the it close to almost touch the start button. The car does not also close automatically when I press the black sensor button on the door. Thus second key only works when I press the buttons on the it.
On asking the guy who did the work for me, he told me that s the way it usually is as only one of the two keys will work fully while the second key works as I just said as above.
I think the guy s lying though and just wants to get me off his Ass. Can someone let me know if what he said is true or not? Thanks again

Such code can be found using the VIN or found printed on some parts of the vehicle. Once its inputted into the cutting machine it will cut out the exact key for the car.Mechanical only

Do you know the subscription fee to that. Means that device has to have all info(softwares) regarding antitheft system. So therefore manufacturer of the device need get a licence from each an every car manufacturers. In this part of the world we see this things as a peanut while heavy fees are to be paid for this. It's quite a sad one

Op's car is push to start and no need to put any key in the ignition. However where he's having problem is cutting the metal key that can be used to open the doors manually when the battery in the key fob runs out. Since he already lost the master key, I think taking out the locks of the door becomes necessary to cut the key.
