If this is done then it would be painful to say there is an internal damage already in the transmission. Transmission fluid was badly dark

For a Toyota with a transponder key you do not need the vin to programme any key to the car. In your case all that needs to be done is to get blank key with a transponder chip which synchronises with the immobiliser of your car. This key needs to be cut to size and shape as master key inorder for it to fit perfectly well into your ignition cylinder. In the above case of yours. I think the person doing that job is having a problem with the programming of the car. He doesn't need to take out the car door. Did you misplace all keys?

Are you looking at it for a single use or family use. Single use Lexus is350. Family use get Lexus ES350

Your drive shafts are bad. Did you install a new CV joint or you bought a complete drive shafts? Would advice you get an OEM complete drive shafts inclusive with the CV joint

Buy Renault Espace instead you would be thrilled how this car moves like a jet

Both engines are very different .
But they are built on the same platform. And they have few similarities.
2gr-Fse has direct injection and has a higher compression rate of 11.8 which is higher that 2gr-fe 10.8 ratio.

Of course it's not as if major parts are interchangeable.
But both engines are similar.

The mayor guy is being ignorant. If he'd take his time to understand what I'm saying and enlighten himself. This is the same guy that thinks 2spark plugs per cylinder was designed for more output. Even after we was corrected he kept arguing blindly .

There are many engines which are under same platform with different outputs and tweaking.
Some engines have the normal aspirated variant while some of them have Direct injection With a supercharger to produce more output.

There are over 5 J35 from Honda all with different outputs , compression ratio e.t.c they are used in different applications.
That doesn't mean they aren't based on same platform .

Mention the parts that can be interchanged let's start with that.for your info the 2GR-FSE can only be confidently fitted into Lexus IS350 and the GS350 so therefore you expect parts to be interchanged.

The difference isn’t just ‘a few parts’, the 2GR-FSE utilizes direct injection while the 2GR-FE doesn’t. I mean, Toyota even developed a new style of injector specifically for this engine. Simply put- it would probably be a better idea to buy a GS350/IS350 for example, than to attempt upgrading a 2GR-FR to 2GR-FSE.

I still maintain my statement. No parts fit for each other. Continue to argue blindly. You are misleading. The 2GR-FSE engine is a 6 cylinder engine with 12 injectors. 6 conventional injectors and 6 high pressure injectors which is controlled by the fuel injection module mounted just infront of the engine. The 2GR-FE only has 6 cylinders with 6 conventional injectors .Have looked at both engines closely and here you are still shooting yourself in the legs. I repeat no parts from both engines can be interchanged. Safe yourself the stress of this and embrace the lecture I have given unto you. Peace

I have a grounded 2006 Cadillac cts with the fault codes; U1300. P0318, P1629. After much enquiry, I was told to change the ecu, complete key unit (transponder key and cylinder). But the issue now is who and where can I program these parts? I'm yet to find anyone who will be able to do this. Thanks

I said it's almost the same with th 2gr-fe. Did you read the word ALMOST in my sentence.
Both engines 2GR-FE & 2GR-FSE under the 2Gr platorm.
All 2gr are under same platform and share some parts but they are designed for differenthe purposes .
The 2GR-FSE is designed to be mounted in Rwd and Awd platforms. And it's a little tuned and more powerful to the 2GR-FE...
That's why Mr egunmogaji always tell you to read and gets your fact right before saying things.

What makes it almost same sir. Have confidently worked on both engines and I still find it obscure how both parts can be interchanged. Continue following the crowd and eschew the truth. For your piece of information I still have a dead 2GR-FSE engine lying on the ground at my workshop. Don't mislead people on this platform

A 3.5L Gs350 is not really thirsty. It's almost same as the 2Gr in the camry but it's mounted towards the back and it's tuned to produce more power .

I don't think you should encounter any problem if you maintain it properly with good oil and good fuel.

Those cars were built to be used and not pampered in the garage. They are built as daily drivers for the road. And they will cross 500k miles if you treat them right.

If you are coming from a corolla kindly stick to your corolla because you'd complain of fuel.

That's because you're used to something more econical but that doesnt mean this one is a guzzler.

Not same engine as the one in Camry. Lexus Gs350 is a 2GR-FSE while Camry (v6) is a 2GR-FE

Based on experience of working

1) underneath the ride is prone to rust so look out for that

2) price of parts not pocket freindly but not over priced though

3) anything outside mecron v transmission fluid which has been recommended for it is can cause any transmission mishap

4.Can it b use for daily running around town?

Nice ride. Parts won't come cheap, shares parts with Lexus is350, runs on a 3.5L engine(2GR-FSE) which is a 6 cylinder running with 12injectors, 6 conventional injectors and another 6 high pressure injectors which is being controlled by a separate module. The ride is very OK no bad noticed during the replacement of her engine in a Lexus is350.

I have a 2007 Acura TL. Car has had on/off issues with the throttle sensor. Manifests by the car idle but won't rev up or move. Used to be that when you switch off and restart the car, it begins to work again.

Lately, the problem has become really bad. Once it happens even if you restart the car 20 times it won't work now. Also the car goes off in the middle of the road when you slow down. Also goes off when you make hard turns. Very dangerous as it has happened on expressways and busy roads.

The electrician I engaged says the entire wiring system is bad and needs to be replaced along with the brain box. Cost is estimated at 120k.

Want to find out if that is the likely problem. And if it is, is this a fair price?

I had the car scanned and it threw up the following errors: P0506, P2122, P2176.

P0506- idle air control system Rpm lower than expected.
Faulty air control solenoid, circuit problem

P2122- Acura Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 'A' Throttle Position Sensor 'D ...

Accelerator pedal could be bad which is not most likely

Throttle actuator, circuit problem

P2176-Throttle Actuator Control System Idle Position Not Learned.

Where is the location of your car and what test has been done to proof beyond reasonable doubt that the wiring and ecu is bad.

Yes I did yesterday and was told the gear was okay from the scan and suggested i should change the brain box

It runs fine when cool and starts to slip when very hot but make this loud sound when engaged from reverse

The ecu would not cause an issue as such. Gear is slipping already which suggests there is an internal problem

Did you run any scan on the transmission. If yes what was the result. If No. Seems to me on a second note that you bought a bad gearbox

Hello house, please i have been having issues with my RX 330 204 model gear, it all started when I changed the inner driveshaft. I changed my inner shaft early this year and after few miles there was a kind of smell from the gear suddenly my car disengaged and was moving then i have to find a toll vehicle to the workshop....fast forward I bought a another gear box and every was working fine and after 4 months the shaft inner shaft was bad again took it to another repairer and after changing the shaft the gear got stuck at the work shop after much diagnoses I ended up buying another gear, it was working properly until now which is about 7 month since I bought the gear. Its started having issues like: If the car is been left to run idle for a long long time after drive distance then the gear will slips when changing from 1 to 2 this has been happening for some weeks and now developed to a loud sound when engaged from park to reverse, I have run a scan and they said the gear is okay that i need to change the brain box please professional advice needed

This case is pitiable. CV joint change procedure has been carried out wrongly on the other transmission you bought. Where is the location of this ride. If in Lagos you can bring it in for a free diagnosis

Are you sure you know what you are saying . 4 cylinder on a RX350. You better edit that cos RX350 comes with a 2GR-FE which happens to be a 6cylinder engine
