Summary of this experiment. That value up there
For fuel trim is nothing to right home about. Excessive fuel consumption is the conclusion. Drive much longer than the 100km and see what comes out of it. Ecu readiness to throwing up a lean code would be slower on Camry 1999.

Where are the pictures or videos. I need this to be done in 2 ways. One is the default setting i.e with a none leaking intake air hose and also with a leaking air hose. Also let's make sure this is also done while car is ldling and while car is on motion. Am interested in seeing the values from the data stream

Most likely that engine would come down there to have that job properly done. The seal is right inside the belly housing black case. Good luck on your fix

the point of controversy is the idea if vacuum and air intake. map measures vacuum inside intake manifold (after tps) and maf measures air Intake ( before tps).
note tps major role is opening sucking or allowing air inside intake manifold and closing.

now this setup doesn't have a maf just map that measures the pressure inside intake manifold with precision. maf would meter and measure the air being sucked in.

now with this ops issue of a broken or leaking AIR intake body I don't really see a lean code being thrown. all things being equal, tps et all. car would suck in the desired air and maintain absolute pressure in manifold and run normal albeit a little portion of the air being sucked in will be unfiltered (ops case as case study) pcv will be affected on the long run.

my two cents
How would the abosulte pressure be retained when there is already a leak?

Fuel consumption would be high. Still had a case at work this week. Torned intake air hose and had been patched previously customer came back after tuning up his engine. Found out the leak from the previous patched area by another engineer Prior to coming. When car is started in the morning it goes into limp home mode. Car came in back scanned ride and got a throttle actuator fault code. Said ride is a Honda Accord 2006

Very unlikely.
Why unlikely. Have seen this cause stalling and rough idling, follow this on a bmw or MB at your own peril

Inception:
But don't forget that u need the map sensor for the car to run.
The air comes in as it is. What is really metered is the quantity of fuel supplied via injectors to the combustion chamber.

Unfiltered air, yes. As long as what component removed is before the MAP sensor, then there should be no problem, asides damaging your engine with dirty air.
Am on the same page with you

GAZZUZZ:
lets agree on 1 thing. Map is mounted. On body of veicle and a pipe runs from far end of the intake to the MAP

No sensor on this vehicles design monitors air volume.

Agreed?
What's the function of the map then? This analysis is quite funny though
Car Talk › Re: Auto Guru, Please Help. by mayor2013: 10:39pm On Oct 19, 2017
GAZZUZZ:
not correct.

This is a 1998-2001 toyota camry with a 4cylinder 5s-fe engine

It employs the use of a manifold absolute pressure system for its primary regulation of air fuel ratio.

There is no Mass airflow meter in the design.

engine will suck up air that is not filtered.

The harmonics wil sound a little different.

The positive crank ventilation unit will loose a little efficiency.

Summary get a replacement.

That's your feeling. Mine is different. Never said in my statement there was a mass airflow Sensor. Don't you fink the value there would be altered when you have ram air entering through that broken intake hose. My take on the above is simple and straightforward sir

Air fuel mixture would be in the wrong proportion (14.7:1). So there the ecu would use the wrong information to inject fuel into the combustion chamber there fore leading to high fuel consumption

This very funny. You call a Nigerian built battery a good battery which had been supervised by SON. who is "SON" and what do they know about battery. Bring your battery to my workshop and let me run series of test on it to confirm with you it's a very good battery. Mind you the average shelf life of a conventional battery is 4months after which it should be subjected to a battery charger to get an optimum charge. Someone just mentioned you have a 2months warranty. That shows your battery is far fetched from being genuine

Same family with ford. Parts would never come cheap being an American ride which is always expensive here in Nigeria. Currently carrying out a suspension work on ford ranger 2012. Bumper changed, front grill changed , full lights changed as a result of headan head on Collision. Total bill amounts to 600k. American rides are nice but parts do not ever come cheap

@ op are you a resident in Lagos? As for the scammer. Fear God o. 9m is just too much to give an owner a story. Am sure you wouldn't Wana visit the theatre in FSARS. Any one ever heard of the place. It's more like hell. As I have personally taken a thief there my self and what I saw my mouth can't tell lipsrsealed all this type of rubbish news do not make business thrive in Nigeria and this is another reason why there are no jobs. Nigerians are always ready to bastardize any place of the world they find themselves in. @ op you need to follow up this one. Using 500k to get 9m is not bad at all.

Removal of fuel injectors next. To achieve this the manifold needs to come out. The aluminium base needs to be stripped away from the inlet manifold plenum to have a proper access to the fuel injectors. You need to be careful at this junction so as not have cause damage to the injectors. A penetration oil would be sprayed to have it easily removed

I drive a Toyota Hilux 2011 which i use mostly for travels
Last week on my way back to Lagos around Benin Bypass i heard a cracking sound around my front wheel
I pull over to check only to discover my 2 front tyres could not move i initially thought it was the brakes that held down i tried to force it to move but the car could not move
I have 2 options to tow it to Lagos or call a mechanic
I decided to call a mechanic and he said my front axle has knocked but the good news is he can help me to fix it so can manage it to Lagos , i asked him what he was going to do he said he would disconnect the propeller and the front shaft so i will use only the back axle to drive to Lagos and he charged me 15k
The mechanic did has he said and i was able to drive it to lagos
Now to my surprise the vehicle now feels lighter and consume less fuel
My problem now is i intend to travel to wari next week can i still travel with it and what is the implication of driving with only back axle
Experts in the house please help
No propella.no drive shaft. Excuse me sir. For this journey to Warri. You are on your own

I love to take out the inlet manifold plenum to remove all form of carbon deposits. A part of what we do cheesy to get the job well done cool.

Next is going to the inlet manifold plenum to have it properly cleaned up from all forms of carbon deposits. Pix depicts the removal of a 10mm threaded bolt close to the firewall in the engine bay

We would be using Bosch double platinum sparkplugs ordered directly from Germany cool. Bosch parts have been my favourite they never disappoint

Car Talk › Re: Jaguar XJ8 2006- Fix Going On @ Multiautolab by mayor2013(op): 9:15am On Oct 13, 2017
One of the ignition coil was found to be defective since we worked on a very tight budget we would be replacing just only 2 spark plugs. With the condition of the throttle body above note that the throttle valve cannot be easily controlled due to the sticky carbon henceforth one of the reasons for the misfire
