hardbody: OK sir.
Will do after the yuletide. I am already at work today and will be out of town by first light tomorrow.
I guess I am yet to understand how to run the specific diagnosis using OB2 Scanner.
Thanks for always having my back. If its an obd2 scanner that scans only powertrain then am afraid you won't be able to run a scan on abs control unit, get some1 who has a professional scan tool to run scan on abs control unit. By the way is your abs light on? |

Peugeot has a lot of warning sounds and displays, but when the electronics gets messed up, it will be warnings all thru the drive Don't you want the manufacturers to make more money? The bmw has a warning beep when tempt exceeds half mark but not all bmw |

greenhulk: Lol. See this one. I'm an active member here and we know who the real engineers are.... U definitely are not one of them. Just because ur an agent for a workshop doesn't make u an engineer. Really who u don EPP here? All ur comments are rather rude and vague and always end with 'bring ur car to so so place for us (sorry I mean the real angeneers) to fix for u' lol. What engineer in his right mind would ask someone to drive a broken car from Enugu to Lagos to come and fix? Go take a chill pill sir. Stop using malaria drugs for another man's headache. |

hardbody: Ok, we were driving home two days ago and my driver suddenly shouted that the breaks had gone flat and at the same time i heard a piercing siren-like noise in the vehicle. We also noticed that some lights came up on the dashboard and refused to go off, specifically, the light that indicates break oil shortage, the ABS light and the slippery road kind of indicator light. He managed the car until i took over and shortly after, the lights went off and the vehicle got me home. Yesterday morning, as I was coming out to pick him, the scenario replayed. I have decided not to risk driving it any further. Could any guru in the house suggest a possible reason and steps needed to take. My most trusted hand appears confused on this hence i am resorting to coming to the house. Your Abs is bad and gone for. With the siren blowing depicts a warning sign to pull over. Replace Abs unit and it would be fine. If you are in lagos we can get it sorted out @ multiautolab. 08156087872 or 08165520837 |

captainking: fuel economy is my only issue... I checked under.. And the o2 sensor wire was not connected.. It was wrapped round... Also.. When my exhaust got blocked..my panel beater opened it and observed there is no catalyst in it.. Then he made iron construct and said it would represent the catalyst.. I don't really understand the one about the airfuel sensor... Thanks for ur response Same thing you checked underneath is right in the engine bay. Just look around along the exhaust region. You would find it. Replace your catalytic converter |

Piyke: Oga Mayor I salute o. Even a bluetooth plug n play type scanner that goes for <5k on Konga can do wonders. From my experience, over 80% of codes are generic and once the scanner can read livedata and the 'oga at the top' knows his onions he can go pretty far. Plug that same bluetooth scanner on a bmw 528i xdrive 2012 and see the wonder it would do. I bet you the scanner would hang and go blind |

Scanner says misfire detected. Don't know if its a random misfire. But I see cylinder 4 misfire. If that standing from the front of your car count 1-4 the last cylinder on your extreme right is your fourth cylinder. Start by taking out spark plug. Check condition. If bad replace spark plug. Clear fault error drive for about 30mins and rescan and if cylinder 4 misfire comes back. Its time to go for the fuel injector on cylinder 4. You can attend to all cylinders as well by checking their spark plugs and servicing of fuel injectors. I don't mean using local champion servicing. Give it an ultrasonic bathing and also check spray pattern of fuel injectors. Second code is airfuel sensor. If missing there is nothing to report to the ecu about airfuel mixture process. So theee fore the ecu dupms excess of fuel in the combustion chamber
The other code states 02 sensor. The oxygen sensor is located along the exhaust underneath the car. Looks somewhat like a spark plug with a wire a attached to it. Check its resistance value with a multimeter. Inspect your catalytic converter as well. Am sure it must have been taken off. Wth your scan result your car would drink fuel like a drunk. Cheers |
Car Talk › Re: Coolant Boiling And Temp Guage Show Temp Normal by mayor2013: 1:56am On Dec 22, 2016 |
amosfunmi: Gurus in the house, kindly help me out. My Toyota camry 2000 Model. Is having an issue:
The coolant boils but temperature gauge still reading normal: still in the midway. I top up the radiator with 1/2-1litre coolant every three days. I have check no leakage detected. What I have done so far: 1. Replaced the radiator cap 2. Removed the thermostat as advised by my mechanic(though I know is wrong, just trying to find the cause of this issue) 3. Radiator was flushed thoroughly: upper part removed and coolant passed cleaned
With all of this, the issue still remain. The boiling is more vigorous with AC on. Pls your pro advice is needed. are your cooling fans working optimally? Another thing could be your radiator. There are 2 things here. You could have an internal leak or external. If external check radiator and radiator cap. If internal then your water pump is out.carry out a coolant pressure test to ascertain this. But this one wey kazeem don open radiator head. Am afraid you might need to buy another radiator cos he wouldn't be able to seal that up properly back to factory installation. |

op, what has disabling common ABS has to do with fuel guage, you didnt talk about tacho and speedo and odo. its either the mechanic disabled more than he should or it was just a coincidence that the time the guages were about to give way was when he disabled the ABS Very possible disconnecting Abs module could make the cluster go GAGA. Not to forget we talking electronics here. The quack mechanic fit rewire the head |

batista73: Hello I need some expert advice or a good mechanic with experience in landcruiser prado. I noticed a kickback on my brake pedal everytime i depress my brakes. Mechanic said its my abs module.and disconnected it. Yes the kickback stopped but now my fuel.guage.is erratic goes up.and down never showing true fuel level. Temperature guage is flat down. In serious traffic it rises but prior to.this. it used to.be in the middle level. Have been told.change.the instrument cluster and different things. Have.changed.fuel.guage. no difference. Please.any.good mechanic in port harcourt? By the time you buy the Abs module for 200k and you buy other things as a result of the quack mechanic you have taken your ride to you would know that there are professionals you can take your ride to. Just know you are in for it. Cos from experience that Abs module is highly expensive and I doubt its availability even though its gotten it might have been compromised. So you might eventually need to get a brand new which would cost between 500k-800k. Do not bother detaching module from the whole unit as it would not work. My advice is look for a professional to get your car checked for you. Might be expensive but you would for sure get the best |

Drive down to lagos. Contact multi autolab. We would surely fix it for you. But next year. A bad battery could cause a misfire on your car or if your alternator is not working optimally. What I would say is get a good battery first, start the car, run a scan on it. Use scan tool to monitor engine performance by monitoring values. Now when I say scan. I don't mean using those bluetooth plug and play toy. All am talking here is a professional scan tool. Cheers |

Acelifted: I recently changed my car from a big daddy Toyota Camry (V4) to a Nissan Pathfinder (V6). one thing I noticed that is that the engine of the Nissan Pathfinder (V6) tend to be hotter than that of the Toyota Camry (4-plug). However my concern is that my mechanic is still using the same engine oil (Visco 2000) he was using for my former car (Toyota Camry 4-plug) for the new Pathfinder V6. I want to ask the experts in the house, what engine oil is best for a V6 Engine in Nigeria's hot climatic conditions?
Thank you. 5w20 fully synthetic engine oil is your recommended oil. Call multi autolab on 08156087872 or 08165520837 if you wish to buy |
