Since Yakassai came out with the assertion that Yoruba agitation for restructuring is a backdoor strategy to empower Middle Belt for self identity, North has mobilized efforts to warm up to Middle Beltans. The other day Arewa Elders announced Paul Tarfa is tasked with answering the questions of restructuring in an upcoming summit at the end of which a cimminuque will be delivered. There have been few other emissaries deployed to pull Middle Beltans closer and give them a sense of brotherhood with core North. Ema Ebuteh came out yesterday and cast a wall of division between Yoruba and Middle Belt and indeed warned the Middle Beltans to distance from Yoruba. Now Sultan is getting involved and in his own tactics telling us how he responded to herdsmen attacks in Middle Belt and efforts to solve the problem. Really? The issue of his message has nothing to do with Middle Belt...it is about Igbo Leaders of Thought making accusations about their fears of where the country is headed. The Sultan should tell us if he visited Nembe people in Enugu and consoled them over fulani attack. It would have more relevance if Sultan had connected his response to ILT with any efforts spent warming up to victims of Nembe, than using this as a launch pad to remind Middle Belt of his connection and brotherhood with them. Northerners are afraid of Yoruba and it is evident to see. Moreso, they are deeply insensitive and neglectful of Igbo. There should be no merge of politics between Yoruba and Igbo as some has suggested. Instead the South should act as a three-headed serpent and attack North concurrently from West, South and East and not let up until the shenanigans of the turban wearing fools are eradicated in all its aspects. |
Islamisation: Sultan blasts Igbo leaders 13:06 11/10/2016 Sokoto - The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has reacted to a recent accusation by the Igbo Leaders of Thought accusing President Buhari’s administration of plotting to Islamise Nigeria, ThisDay reports. The Sultan said he was worried that people who were supposed to be elder state men could make such provocative comments. His words: “I am always worried when Nigerians who are supposed to be elder statesmen make provocative comments about this government trying to Islamise Nigeria. “I keep on asking how? How do you Islamise a country like Nigeria that is probably 80 million Muslims (in population) but we agreed that we are 50-50. “Are you going to invite America? Somebody so naive even said the visit of the United States Secretary of State was to strengthen the Islamisation of programme of the leadership of the country.” The Sultan also stated that it is wrong to ascribe the violence associated with Fulani herdsmen to an Islamic agenda. “The problem with herdsmen and farmers is purely about economy. The herdsman wants food for his cattle, the farmer wants his farm produce to feed his family. “We have tried to broker peace with Fulanis and Tivs in Nasarawa and Benue states. I have been to Makurdi four times for such meetings. “So people should stop making this noise about Islamisation and herdsmen being used to islamise the country and so many negative things” the Sultan said. http://m.news24.com.ng/Nigeria/National/News/islamisation-sultan-blasts-igbo-leaders-20161011 |
EternalTruths:Hahaha...so only Yoruba Provinces are populated by diversities, no other region has diversity? You guys just talk out of same hole you pass fart and is why your numbers and statements stink! Yoruba is your father! |
Here is what Ebute said sometime back. This guy is a political jobber, no more no less. Read what he said sometime back about Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani. Former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, Monday, described the merger of three political parties into the All Progressives Congress, APC, as unworkable, affirming the continuing hurt of the Yoruba people against the Hausa Fulani on account of the death in detention of Bashorun Moshood Abiola. |
It is evident that Yoruba is the single majority tribe in Nigeria, going by the 1933 report shared in this thread. If we add Hausa-Fulani as a cojoined tribe, then Yoruba is second. Thanks Igboid for bringing this tables out you definitely busted a myth tonight and confirmed in my support that Yoruba is the father of all tribes in Nigeria. ![]() |
To Ibos, here is your reality. This is addition of Ilorin + Kabba + Colony + Abeokuta + Ijebu + Ondo + Oyo.
|
Igboid:Count Yoruba, not region. Kabba and Ilorin was counted and given to North. Colony was counted separate because it was not a pronvicial administrative power. |
Igboid:Add Colony to population of Yoruba and give us total nau make we see who be majority in Southern. Abi u craze, una go start nonsense and when we counter then you begin look for words and semantics to defend your position. Abeg hurry and add Colony to Yoruba in South provinces make we see who majority be. |
Even in Nigeria, Adichie is only popular among Ibos and only in Nairaland and possibly on Linda's blog. This is not the age of literature. Investors are tearing down libraries to clear room for music and movie studios. C'mon! |
Igboid where art thou? Hath thou seen the truth? ![]() |
Igboid:Great! Im sure you read where the reporter said Yoruba is majority in Southern but also have provinces in Northern. There are two Yoruba provinces in North, Kabba and Ilorin. Add their population to the Colony (Lagos) and total with the number already given for Yorubas counted in Southern. Where does Ibo stand in comparison to Yoruba? |
Igboid:So are you saying in 1933 when this count was taken Yoruba is not exclusively OYO but spreads to other areas? Are you serious? |
Igboid, You ibos told us that Yoruba was limited to Oyo only and that Lagos is Awori, Ogun is Ijebu and Egba, Ondo and Ekiti are Ijesha and Ekiti people, Kwara is fulani. So the population you are looking at coincides with the era Ibos concluded as distinct people of Western region identifying by their dialect and is excluded from Yoruba, which according to you is OYO only. So, the population count you are looking at and giving comparison is just Oyo against entire Iboland. How do you feel? |
OkoNDOoBo:I agree 100% . They are political slaves. |
90xtr93r:I told you repeatedly, Yorubas use fact-based information to interact here. Stop yarning bs fed into your head back in village. Now read the following and update your brain with facts. FORMER Head of State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), yesterday in his condolence message described the late Major General Benjamin Adekunle as a soldier who demonstrated unrelenting courage and sacrifice, towards keeping Nigeria united and in peace, during the 1967 civil war.

How fulani herdsmen behave in Yorubaland: They attack farmers and then for fear of counter attack, quickly escape into forest or police/army barrack if one is near. They send alert warning others that the ground is hot and to stay away. How fulani herdsmen behave in Iboland: They attack farmers and then warn the village head that the farmer killed their cows and they must be compensated. After receiving compensation. They send alert to the village and nearby villages giving a date they will return to attack them. The village then evacuates and abandon their farm and homesteads for fear of reprisal. Fulani return with cows to the abandoned villages and feed fat on crops. |
By Emeka Mamah & Francis Igata Enugu—Worried by the accusation emanating from one Alhaji Sodu,an Enugu-based Fulani herdsman who claimed over the weekend that three of his sons and over 100 cows were missing, an aftermath of an alleged attack by Aku community youths, the entire Aku Welfare Association Federated, AWAF, yesterday, disassociated the community from such nefarious activities. The union in a joint news briefing with all the traditional rulers of Aku community revealed that the purported attack did not take place within Aku boundary but instead, within Agu-Affa/Agu-Egede in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. A statement jointly signed by the chairman, Aku Traditional Rulers,Igwe V.O.Attah and the chairman,Aku General Assembly, Felix Ezikeanyi read: ”Available evidence and surrounding circumstances unequivocally shows that Aku youths or its representatives did not attack Fulani herdsmen as alleged. “It was observed that the scene of the purported attack did not take place within Aku boundary but rather with Agu-Affa/Agu-Egede in Udi Local Government Area. Hence, there was no reason or nexus linking Aku youths to the alleged attack. We find it rather curious that the five assailants, who were reported to be masked and whose identities were by implication subjected to speculation were unguardedly associated with Aku youths. It will be recalled that a palpable fear had engulfed Aku community last weekend,in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State following the allegation from Alhaji Sodu. Vanguard’s investigations showed that Alhaji Sodu has since reunited with his three sons. His allegation forced members of the community to scamper to safety over fears of reprisal attack. https://www.google.com/amp/www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/enugu-community-slams-herdsmen-alleged-missing-100-cows/amp/?client=ms-android-metropcs-us&espv=1 |

We spend so much time deriding our capacity. Since the war, I don’t know a time, whether in civilian or military administration, when the federal government doesn’t have people of the South-East being key members of that administration. If these calls are being made as pressure group mechanism, you could say there is a strategy there, but if it is being used as a distraction to the people, then there is a problem. During the last census, the South-East lost its numbers because those pushing for Biafra asked people not to be counted. They intimidated the people, shops were closed, and as a result, the figures that came out of there were horrible. Now, if these figures are used for infrastructural development, who loses? If you consider the recent elections, the people of the South-East decided that Jonathan was their son. I don’t know that Otuoke was part of Igbo land, but they did anyway. That government had 70 per cent of the key positions being occupied by Igbo anyway. And the challenges the region is facing now were there; they were created by their mismanagement of opportunities of the presidency of their ‘son’, Jonathan. Now if their ‘son’ was the president and they supported him and had 67 per cent of decision makers in his government, what happened to the roads in the South-East? Is it that Buhari became president in 2015 and overnight dug up the roads and flooded the area? Or that the educational system was dilapidated suddenly because he caused mental or spiritual problems for the Igbo? I am not speaking for the president, he can defend himself and has people who can do that, but I read recently in the papers that there is a conference coming up, to be chaired by the deputy Senate president, to call on Igbo people to come home and invest because they are not happy that a dry port is being set up in Kaduna, Lagos gets a second or third seaport while 90 per cent of our people are the ones importing. For the six years that your ‘son’ Jonathan held sway and you had 70 per cent of decision makers in that government, why didn’t Jonathan, with all of you in tow, build the Lagos-Calabar rail that would veer through the East? Under their watch, the PDP was building the East-West road that avoided the core South-East states, and everyone knows the basic economics that if a major road passes through your villages it empowers your people. This road will relegate the Lagos-Ore-Benin road to the background while the new one cuts out your community. When these documents were drawn up, why didn’t the Igbo people in the government question them? Why didn’t they say they didn’t have an airport of international standard? And their daughter was the aviation minister? The second Niger Bridge has been in deplorable condition for years, and in the six years that their ‘son’ was president, he didn’t’ take it seriously. Read more at http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/politics/-why-we-blocked-autopsy-on-chuba-okadigbo/165863.html#w3wevsls5uoij9jB.99 |
Ibo governors advised to stop fearing fulani, look at West and follow the examples of amala and ewedu eaters in the way they respond to and treat fulani. Shame, entire alaibo fearing fulani, shame, shame, shame! |

Tanko Yakassai said not long ago that North has tamed Yoruba's ambition to awaken political consciousness in the Middle Belt. Given that, I now wonder why Arewa Elders are running helter skelter convening a special summit to address Yoruba's political pet project, viz, carve Middle Belt out of Northern geo zone. Now, notice how the task of coming up with a response is given to a leader of Middle Beltans to strategize. Hmmmm...... Yakassai should pick a dictionary to re educate himself on the meaning of "tame". Yoruba dey kampe....whether Arewa like it or not we will continue to agitate minds of minorities in North and stirring their conscience for self determination. If Arewa does not like it they can secede and co join with their brothers in Cameroon and Niger. |
Ango Abdullahi The Northern Elders Forum on Saturday said it would hold a two-day Summit beginning from Monday, to discuss security, politics and socio-economic development of the region. Prof. Ango Abdullahi, Chairman, Organising Committee of the summit said at a press briefing in Kaduna that the event would also articulate the region’s stand on calls for the restructuring of the country. Abdullahi said the summit, which would hold at Arewa House, Kaduna, was expected to generate discussions on the general state of the nation. Issues bordering on the security situation with regards to Boko Haram, militancy, banditry, robbery, herdsmen/farmers clash and kidnapping would also be assessed, he added. The “pervasive poverty and economic hardship, and economic policies of the country” would also be discussed. “We shall discuss the issues of corruption created and promoted by the existing political system, loud voices and calls for re-structuring of the country and in some cases demand for cessation of some parts. The summit will discuss the unhealthy relationship between the three arms of government and the likely consequences as well as review amendment of the 1999 Constitution.“ He said the summit would come up with alternative solutions on investments to reduce over dependence on government. Abdullahi said at the end of the event, a blueprint for the development of the region would be articulated. “The multi-dimensional challenges facing the country and indeed the northern Nigeria though non-exhaustive have made this year’s summit even more imperative and compulsive. “Mallam Adamu Fika, Chairman Board of Trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) is expected to serve as chairman of the summit. “Others are Professor Attahiru Jega who will serve as Chairman of the Unity, Faith and Development in Nigeria, a Night session, while Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa, (rtd) will serve as Chairman of `Restructuring Nigeria: How should the North Respond session. |
By Chinedu Adonu ENUGU— THE governors of the five South East states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo have now become the butt of criticisms from the church and some rights groups over the poor handling of the crises arising from the incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen on the people of the area. bolaji3071:Buhari is the good man now that there is discord with Tinubu. The same Buhari they accused yesterday of islamizing Iboland with fulani herdsmen. Ibo is developmentally challenged. |
sarqwest:Im here to irritate yanmiri. What else? |
apcisevil:What recovery? You are under heavy oppression on your home soil and used as tax slave in yorubaland and you rejoice about recovery. Where is the recovery? Obiano is crossing from APGA to come under APC and do yes sir yes sir to his Yoruba masters. Is that your recovery? Your leaders have picked up vuvuzela and crying up and down for all Ibos to come and invest at home and stop developing Yorubaland for them. Is the vuvuzela your recovery? Ekwueme has been lamenting and gnashing teeth about how Ibo has been cheated in all spheres of nationhood and you here talking about recovery? Did you not see that your queen iweala cant step foot in Nigeria during APC regime. Is that recovery of Iboland? Omo ale! |
Biafman:Whether it is 2% or 0.5% is not the issue, the victory happened when he came to find solution in SW, period! SW worked its magic and delivered victory...thats all you need. I say Mnchstr Utd beat Liverpool by 1-0, you say na only 1 point. Who carry the trophy is what history will teach. All that other nonsense you talked is not worth my time today. Im getting ready for owambe ttonght, catch me when im relaxed. |
