Service Canada helps people, and is efficient.

Someone I know was shown how to re-request a new PR card when they went to Service Canada.

So, what are we saying here?

There are many service Canada outlets. The fact that one showed your friend what to do, does not mean others would.

Op should submit a webform or contact their MP.

Moreover, all the information OP needs is on IRCC website.

You should apply for a new PR card.

Go to Service Canada in person.

Service Canada do not issue PR cards, only IRCC does.

He already applied, he should send a webform or contact his MP to see if they can reach out to IRCC

No, I don't have Canadian PR. But GBR passport holders do not require a visa to enter Canada and the US.

I am returning to Naija though, this is just to visit family.

If you are coming to Canada with your GBR passport… you are good…

Doesn’t the travel certificate apply to someone who is entering Nigeria? With respect to entering Nigeria, I understand that that is not a problem - we can enter with an expired passport.

Yes you can but you need a valid travel document otherwise some airline will not board you.

Has anyone experienced travel to Canada with a valid British passport but an expired Nigerian passport?

Which passport was your visa issued with?

I reckon if you are a PR already, you already have your PR card, so no issues here.

However, if you aren’t a PR and your visa is not issued on the British passport—— Na to Dey your Dey.

I don’t know if Canada has any special arrangements for UK passport holders, you probably need to find that out.

Why do nigerians living abroad fail to come back to Nigeria even for Important things like their parents death, burial, brother's wedding etc? I also find it weird some remain there for 15, 20, 30 years without ever visiting home even if na just once.

Your list of important thing is skewed.

Religion / Re: What I Witnessed In A Popular Pentecostal Church by maziude: 6:57pm On Sep 11, 2022
Tunjibalogun:
I'm a Catholic but once in a while I get to attend pentecostal churches when invited by colleagues though. So I went to this very well known pentecostal church. I found out the following:

(1) They've now modelled their church into several services just as it is done in the Catholic Church unlike before when they go to church by 7am and return by 2pm

(2) They have the pictures of their daddy GO inside the church just like the Catholics use those of Jesus

(3)They also had ornaments like holy oil just like in the Catholic church

(4) They have communion service just like in the Catholic church. I took their wine and communion though grin grin

It seems to me like the essence of the pentecostalism is now been defeated because the pentecostal churches we knew when growing up never had these aspects that resembled the Catholic Church practices. To add to it some pentecostal churches now ordain bishops too which were never existent to them them except to the orthodox churches.

And who are you to judge?

I came in with almost all the "so called " contrabands, most of the time they don't check it here, they have a whole lot to do and most times they leave the luggages at the baggage claim. At times they check the luggages when it's way more than 32kg.

Yes I brought meat (dried goat meats and ponmo) I brought chicken flv noodles, I even came in with chicken flavor Maggie cubes.

Some people will attribute it to luck, maybe, maybe not . But there are quite a number of people that brought in all these things and they don't have their bags checked. The main hurdle is leaving 9ja with these things. Canada only check bags randomly.

Items are prohibited for some reasons.

The fact that they didn’t check or detect yours or others, should not be a basis for others to flagrantly disobey rules.

Let’s mind what we post on forums where people come for information.

Hello. I was meant to understand that for a 1yr PGD/PGC, applying to go with my family of 5 is a red flag due to the duration of the course. I was also meant to understand that I can only qualify for 1year PGWP after a one year PGD/PGC program. This means that it would still be a red flag to apply for my family to join me in Canada at that time due to the duration of my PGWP (1yr). My questions are:

1. Does that mean I can only relocate my family to Canada when I get PR (after may be 3yrs) if I choose to go the route of a PGD/PGC?

2. How does someone with a second class lower degree take his family along to Canada using the study route?

3. Can my 10yr work experience alongside my 2:2 get me a direct Masters Degree admission in Canada?

4. Can a Canadian PGD/PGC be used to secure a Masters Degree admission into a Canadian University?

1. No and nobody knows unless you apply. Every case is treated differently.
2. By applying to a school and applying for visa.
3,4,5- check with schools. Only them can give you the right answer.

Please you don't have to take my advice as I don't know anything about the law.
Please o, did he also get PPR since he's unaccompanying? If he didn't, I don't see what the problem is. I assume your divorce is being handled by a lawyer. I'm also assuming that there are no legal separation documents. If that's the case, I'd advise that you speak to your lawyer ASAP and ask if it is possible to draw out the divorce proceedings for as long as possible. Wait for your PPR, move as soon as you get it then finalise divorce.
P. S.
I'm working with the assumption that your husband is trying to frustrate your relocation efforts.

Unaccompanying don’t get visa. They would need to be sponsored by the PA when they are ready.

So there are no issues at all if she lets IRCC know now- which is the right thing to do at the moment

I am presently in a shitty situation and I need recommendations.
I started the PR route a while ago and my husband grudgingly accepted to be added unaccompanied because he has a good job here in Nigeria and he doesn't want to relocate permanently. I added him after my AOR.
Things got so sour after the wedding and he asked for a separation and subsequently a divorce. I wanted to report our separation to ircc before they request for any ADRs regarding adding him, but I didn't because I had no legal document to prove my point at the time.
I have gotten PPR now and sent my passport as well, the divorce is getting finalized soon and I don't know if I should tell ircc at this point because I want to avoid misinterpretation.
What if the divorce get finalized around the time I get my COPR?
How will that affect my application? I've read it's likely they cancel my PPR and re issue another one.
Will the divorce have a negative effect on whether I get a new PPR or not? How long will it take to get a new PPR? Will there be request for any ADRs?
He has threatened to report our separation to ircc if I don't, and I'm wondering if he has any right to call or mail ircc on behalf of my application. It's so messed up cry

I have many questions, sorry

He is unaccompanying means he is not going with you at this time. By the time he is ready, you will need to sponsor him.

This makes it easy for you.

Let IRCC know immediately and let them know the divorce is being finalized, there will be no complications.

It only gets complicated if you delay it further.

Please I do need help with is information, as I am planning to book a flight for 3 week of September
(Modify) (Quote)

Go to the airline website/Expedia/sky scanner, check flights from those countries and compare the fares to flights from Nigeria. Also, calculate how much it will cost you and your luggage from your location in Nigeria to those countries too.

Then do the maths.

For your kid, check the cic/cbsa website for entry requirements for us citizens- you will get the most up to date info there.

As for pof, be ready to show anything they ask for and it is totally at the discretion of the officer you meet.

Nobody will send money to your bank account in Nigeria.

You will need to resume, open an account, fill in the paper work and they will take care of the rest.

Please you guys should advise me on what to do

I will be arriving Canada next month as a PR. the thing is I initially booked a ticket for Calgary but now I have job leads in Ontario.
I've asked my airline to reroute but its not possible due to crazily high fares.

the thing is my first landing in Canada will be in Montreal with final destination as Calgary. how do I manoeuvre this as I understand that the immigration Officer will require me to give them an address for my PR card.

can I get to Calgary as per my ticket and then leave for Ontario immediately? will it be a problem if the address on my PR card is different from the address on my social Insurance card?

Thank you very much for any guidance you guys can provide.

Nobody cares where you end up eventually as long as you give them your valid address for your PR card, you should be fine.

But you funny, make airline reroute your flight, wen no be danfo you enter grin

Good day, so i will be moving to Canada by December with my family , basically family of 3 and i need some clarifications on luggage packing to avoid unnecessary spending's.

How many bags or boxes is expected from a family of 3? was thinking 2 each for adult then 1 for a toddler, I need more clarifications.
Should there be a separate sack for foodstuffs aside boxes i mean the normal 'Ghana must go'?

You can ship the items and pick them up when you get here.

Unless, it is absolutely necessary to go with that much foodstuff, I would say reduce the quantity.

Also, you may want to check what food items are allowed in before you pack them bags only to have them tossed.

Honestly nobody can tell you that unless the recruiting firm.

Read their requirements and apply if you meet them.
