You can't renew your passport if it has more than 6 months validity on it. You should be issued a visa for the duration of your course and you renew your passport at the appropriate time. If it gives you peace of mind, print out the passport renewal guidelines from NIS and tender at point of entry when you get into the country, I guess the actual student visa is issued at the point of entry (the stamp you get in your passport before you arrive is a single entry visa to enable you get into the country).

The stamp on the passport just shows the date of entry.

They will be issued a study permit , a separate document with a valid period.

The Op can renew their passport and apply for an ‘updated’ Study permit.

Start here.

Of course you will see the words mental health and freak out. This is the real reason your wife does not want any testing.

No oyibo madness for my pikin. Not my portion. I am too blessed for any of the devil's curses etc etc

Exactly!!!

These mentalities need to stop.

The type of advisers on this thread is something else.

OP take your child for a test. This is the time to get a handle on this.
If you don’t, the school will recommend it and by then, it is no longer in your hands.

Advise your wife, that there is nothing wrong with carrying out a test.

I have two lovely kids with my wife - a girl and a boy. My son is six years old while his sister is eight. Both were born here in the US. I’ve done what I feel is right as a father to train these kids, but I know not everything can be done accordingly.

My son is restless. He has the attention span of three seconds before he gets distracted by something else. My mum tells says he is a copy of me when I was his age, but that was in the eighties and the way children were handled back then is totally different from today. He hardly wants to do anything in terms of school work and almost every day I get complaints from his teacher that he does not do his work or he is disruptive in class. When other students are doing their work, my son will be the one falling off his chair or hiding under his desk. His teacher told me he acts out when being corrected. Only yesterday my wife told me the teacher met her when she went to pick them up in school and told her that my son started yelling when the lights in the class started flickering. His behavior got so bad, they had to call the school security officer before he calmed down.

This behavior is really bothering me. I know my son is smart. His pre-school teacher once told me he was the smartest student she had. My son can do complex mathematical equations off the top of his head that even his older sister struggles to do. He has a very good memory and can list off all the types of trains that exist in the US, things that even I don’t know. It’s sitting down to be serious about work that he can’t do and can’t seem to focus on.

I enrolled him in a soccer club to see if that would help him expel his excess energy. At first he seemed to be lazy as he gets frustrated easily, and rather try harder, my son would rather give up and cry. I mostly have to encourage him to put in more effort, and most of the time he does not pay attention to what the coach says. The coach told me a couple of days ago that he wants to move him to a lower group level to see if he can build his confidence there.

I want to believe it’s his being the last born for now that’s worrying him. He seemed to start being a bit more mature when my wife got pregnant last year and he learnt they had a younger sibling on the way, but unfortunately, she miscarried and we lost the baby. I’ve been thinking for a while now whether to move back to Nigeria with everyone so that we can build some sense into both of them (my daughter’s story is another one). I’ve thought of taking them both for an ADHD test, but my wife is against that. The only time my son pays attention is when he’s doing something he likes, and that is when he’s playing the PS5 I got them or watching videos on YouTube Kids.

Any advice would be welcome from parents out there.

Take the kid for a test. The earlier you do that the better for the kid.

Taking him to naija would do nothing.

Hello People..

Is there anyone here who has recently landed Canada with COPR and is unvaccinated?

How is landing without being vaccinated, is it still compulsory to stay in the hotel for 3 days?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Check the cic website, there are updates concerning this.

Was actually talking of spouse open work permit

Yea for that you would need to have a certain amount of money in your account.

It is just like any other temporary visa application.

A friend’s wife’s sowp was rejected because of lack of funds and home ties.

The onus is on you to prove to them that your spouse will return if all else fails.

Yeah, I know that war has been brewing since 2014 when Russia equipped separatist fighters against Ukraine.
Putin being Putin, we all know that it's a matter of time. So is China and Taiwan. It's just a matter of time before china annexes Taiwan.

Our country is a shit hole, we all know this and they should have evacuated their citizens but we know how useless our foreign embassies are.

Nevertheless, this does not change the fact that people are racist, racism is everywhere and eastern Europe is extremely racist than some of the rest.

True.

Go to the port of entry (airport) ask for the CBSA office. You should be able to do your landing there

When was the last time you did this?

You don’t just show up at cbsa office without an appointment.

The Op needs to send a webform and will be advised on what to do next.

PS- 2 people I know were in this position. All they did was a webform, IRCC checked, asked for copies of their passports and all that and they became a PR without having to go anywhere.

What about black people who are citizens there? The fact remains, once you're black, it doesn't matter if you're a citizen or not. You're going to "the back of the bus".

I'm not supporting Ukraine nor Russia. They're also the same when it comes to treatment of dark skinned folks.

This is BS.

The noise of war did not start today; it has been echoing for awhile.

Sensible countries evacuated their people and placed a travel advisory against travelling to Ukraine.

Which African countries including your country did that?

If there is a war in your house, would you save first- a stranger or your family?

I got an opportunity to work in South Korea for at least the next 5 years, which means I'll be leaving Canada. I still don't know how the vacation will be structured and whether it will allow me spend enough time in Canada to renew my PR. For now, I have only stayed approx 2 years in Canada in the past 4 years, but should be leaving for South Korea in the next couple of months. How can one handle a situation like this so that they can still renew their PR? Maybe it's better to turn such an offer down? I heard if I get married to a Canadian I can live anywhere while my PR counts towards citizenship. Is this correct?

This is what https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1466&top=10 says:

Can my time abroad count toward my permanent resident status?
It depends on what you do and who you travel with. Your time outside of Canada may count toward your permanent resident status if you meet 1 of these conditions:

You work outside Canada
You need to work full-time for:

a Canadian business or organization, or
the Canadian federal, provincial or territorial government
You travel with a spouse or common-law partner
Your spouse or common-law partner needs to be:

a Canadian citizen, or
a permanent resident working outside Canada, full-time for:
a Canadian business, or
the Canadian federal, provincial or territorial government.

If you are getting married for a transactional sake don’t cry when the transaction goes bad!!!

Hello Sir/mas in the house, pls, I need your advice on this matter, my brother got PPR and he is traveling in August this year for the fall semester, his up front medical he did for his visa application last year will expire in June this year before he travels in August.

1. Does he have to do a new medical before he travels or he can just travel like that ?

2. Does immigration check for it at the POE in Canada ?

3. If he needs to do a new medical, what would he do next and who does he submit it to since he already has A STAMPED VISA?

THANKS

If they need it they will let him know.

Better still, he should contact cic through a webform and find out.

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding IMM1294.

The applicant is currently in Canada with Visitors visa but originally from Nigeria. She's applying for study permit.
Questions 7 & 9 are confusing.

Question 7 is asking about Current Country or territory of Residence

Question 9 is asking about Country or territory where applying.

Is it right to have both answers as Canada?Thank you.

This is what it says on cic….
*****************
Even though you’re physically in Canada, you must follow the instructions for applying for a study permit from outside Canada.

In our online tools, choose your country of citizenship when you’re asked for your current country or territory of residence. This is to make sure you get the correct application forms.

When you fill out the PDF forms, your answers must be accurate, since they’re now part of your application. If you’re in Canada, use your Canadian address.

**************************

Which makes sense assuming she does not meet one of the requirements to apply as someone inside Canada.

this my friend studied Mechanical engineering technology. he has less funds with him, but confide in me that he can sort out funds if only he can get a comprehensive requirements/costs of traveling to Canada.
my questions are these.. what are these requirements? what type of visa will be eligible for him? and lastly, since the lady is willing to assist him with a job, what is expected from the lady to do, questions to ask her concerning this arrangements etc.

I need your input on this matter. Thank you guys.

First and completed Data Analytic Visualization Project... coming from zero to here just in two weeks...I would love to xplain everything in details but I think it not necessarily...this an analysis for U.S Passenger Dataset, I cant rate this so good...I want to xplore some more chart that can carry so much detail and prediction.

Though there is no prediction on this visual...but tell the story of the performance.

The dataset contains Date, Country and numbers of passengers.

With the Analysis, you can make prediction months and days U.S are likely to have more passengers traveling or migrating.

You can also tell the exponential growth, why 2020 has the lowest passengers

Though I have some Machine Learning project on Python, Excel and Statistics (I just choose to share this cus I joined a monthly competition on LinkedIn)

Let me stop here, I see how you all rate a new Barber, graphics designer.
Come and do this for me...man want to feel encourage

This is good.

For inland applicants?
I am yet to see anyone beyond 9months

First you said 6 months, now 9 months.

Cases are different and with COVID, getting approved under 6 months is not true in most cases. In fact there are backlogs, real backlogs.

Hence the reason, they allow most inland applicants to apply for work permit while they wait. That one sef na another story.

If you want proof, go here and see for yourself.

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/atlantic-immigration-pilot-programme-aipp.478684/page-303

But, you can always try to apply for visit visa, and you gats show dem say if (God forbid) PR no work, you go go back house.

Anyways, good luck boss…

Please I have an urgent question to ask concerning my sisters traveling to Canada for her studies in Canada in which she has gotten her visa and booked her flight for departure this week.

The question now is, her school is to resume by April/may this year 2022, she had written her Canadian school severally for them to adjust her resumption date to January or February but she didn't get any reply from them. She has gotten a Canadian visa since last year 2021 December.

Now, can anything affect her flight ticked she purchased from traveling knowing fully well that her school resumption time is April/may?

Please I need someone or persons with experience to clarify me on this situation, to avoid issues?

They just don’t switch resumption date anyhow, wen no be daycare.

She applied to start in summer of 2022; she was admitted based on that. The only thing they can do is defer it to a later date.

As per travelling now, what will she tell the border officer that she will be doing till April; mind you, she can’t work until her school starts and her permit will start as soon they issue it; so extra 2 or 3 months wasted already.

Let her wait and go in March.

They will ask you to renew it before giving you PPR. It is best to start the process now or else another delay.

There are no lane marking on some part of 3rd mainland and Oshodi - Gbagada road. Like WTF?

Nobody has billed me. All my friends are currently doing very well in Nigeria.

I don't trust Google maps in Nigeria. It hasn't be so accurate for me.

Oh lastly security makes everyone that calling me by 8pm but in my base, I go out to jog by 2am.

Did I mention the heat?
