BusinessRe: Banks Are Stealing From Your Money, Shine Your Eyes Nigerians! by MBG4Real(m): 1:08am On Aug 31, 2011
zomike:
Fellow nairalanders i feel i should screem out this time around.
Nigeria banks are dealing with the masses not to talk of the uneducated traders.
I run a small bussiness recently i noticed that when i pay money into my account
Even In MY BRANCH where i opened the account they send me wrong balance.
1st it was Zenith bank, in the past 2wks they have illegally deducted over 4,000naira
that i have noticed.
I used my Skybank ATM at sky bank Marina, the same thing happened, they sent me a wrong
balance deducting close to 1,000naira immediately.
They will pay me every kobo,i'm getting an accountant to check out all the excess charges.

This is true and it is not funny at all! I checked the balance in my UBA account at a Zenith bank ATM before withdrawing money, but alas! the alert I received showed that extra N1000.00 was taken. Please who has explanation to all these madness should let us know, abeg. The worst of it all is that the top management of our organization forced all staff to open account with this UBA and it is a salary account. It isn't fair at all.

"There's this girl I've known for about 10 months now whom I really, really like. I've sent her flowers, called her as many times as possible in a day, every day, told her sweet things most of it how I felt about her which was entirely true, tried everything to make her give me some attention but she just ignored me. I've moved on since then, though still single. Then about 4 months ago, I got a new job, bought a car and moved into a new apartment (my own apartment). I guess she got word of this because right now she wouldn't let me rest. She's filling my box with mails, my phone with SMS messages and calls me like her father owns the network. What do I do"

Jos is not known for kidnapping. Did Niger-Delta boys move to Jos? If it is only kidnapping it is better,  than the extra-judicious killings going on in Jos and the Boko Haram bombing elsewhere in the North.

It  is a sad incidence no one would wont happen to him anyway!!. Lets pray the abductors release the poor man in peace.

I doubt this too. Even the Muslims will feel marginalization with such arrangement.

Truly, truly, if this information is a lie as you said, then it is unfortunate. How can a discerning mind make a calculated effort to deceive others. It will not be well with the originator of such lie. May Allah be praised.
CelebritiesRe: Breaking News: Mercy Johnson May Call Off August 27 Wedding by MBG4Real(m): 12:43am On Aug 08, 2011
iBlogNaija:
Mercy’s groom-to-be Odi is still legally married to another woman, Lovely; making whatever documents he signs with Mercy Johnson null and void. Under the Nigerian Criminal Code, the act, called bigamy, is considered an offence and is punishable by law (usually a jail term of up to seven years or fine).

According to the Nigerian Criminal Code (part V, Section 370) ‘Any person who, having a husband or wife living, marries in any case in which such marriage is void by reason of its taking place during the life of such. husband or wife, is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for seven years‘.

It states further that ‘this section does not extend to any person whose marriage with such husband or wife has been dissolved or declared void by a court of competent jurisdiction, nor to any person who contracts a marriage during the life of a former husband or wife, if such husband or wife, at the time of the subsequent marriage, shall have been absent from such person for the space of seven years, and shall not have been heard of by such person as being alive within that time.’

I don't seem to believe this your quote of Nigerian law. What of the Muslims who marry up to four wifes. Are they not   Nigerians or are they exempted from this law.

For Mercy Johnson, don't let them spoil your plans for you.  If possible let your Edo Prince file and get divorce first, then go on with your mariage.
BusinessRe: The Worst Telecom Networking Firm In Nigeria by MBG4Real(m): 12:22am On Aug 08, 2011
MTN is the worst I guess. I am yet to understand them. They started the "Magic Number" stuff which was laudable. They scraped it.  They say their tariff is 20k per second from the very first second but that is a lie. It is a generalized statement.

They have  that only in their family and friends package. Every other package attracts a cut-throat cost. One is N50 per second for the very first second. Why are they deceiving us with 20k per second.

I think MTN is ridding on our intelligence.
CrimeRe: Woman With 7 Babies born in 12 months Charged with Child Trafficking by MBG4Real(m): 4:24pm On Jul 14, 2011
There are more Questions than answers. The truth is lacking in this matter.

Questions: 1. Have there been any claim of the babies? Or did she kill the mothers of these children before taking them.  Where are the mothers?

2. If she wants to traffic on them, must she gather all seven before doing so.  3.  Who are her cohorts.

4. If these are her babies, does she have the means of supporting  these children? To keep common twins is difficult not to talk of seven in the same age bracket.

5. Who is her husband? What does he know about the matter. Is the husband accepting this trash as truth or what.

More  Questions

Finally, the woman looks like she is dumb to me. Did she really think that people will buy her story. Unless she just cooked up the story when she was found. What is she trying to achieve. Whatever, she is dumb acting it out.

Put her in jail

ATM machines dispense N1000 and N500 notes. A lot of us withdraw from ATMs that is why those denominations are more prominent.

nigeria just has to forge ahead, accept our fate that nigeria will always be a mediocre nation, never realizing its full potential, n utilizing its God's given resources
I feel you man!. You are absolutely right. If we want peace in our land, we should accommodate the less privileged. It is right to employ the best brains, but that should be for highly technical areas. Some jobs do not really need high IQ to perform. I have a friend who works in an oil firm (Adax), his duty is just monitoring the wheal heads and take the reading in the hydrometers installed there. Certainly that duty does not require top flight graduates, anybody can monitor wheal heads and read meters. The boy is getting a fat salary and bonus like other workers there. So less qualified graduates can be employed and given such rolls.

I also misread that Drop for sell but u know either way its putting it away just to attract men. Not very logical.
Imagine its you that just met her.of course with no car.
The moment she puts you 'in the box' then Voila! car emerges. Then you hear it was a gift from boss!! I would like to know hw u would take it.
In the first place, I don't buy the idea of "It is a gift from Boss". If  she bought the car herself it won't bother me if I get to know later. It depends on how she will introduce it. According to your post before last, her character or behaviour matters. How does she carry herself in the mist of it all. She can tell the husband that she had a car, but wasn't so confident in driving, so she sent it to village, but now that she is married, she thinks it will be useful for both of them, so she wants to go get it. If her husband approves, then it is theirs and no longer hers alone.

It is her luck.  After all she married GoodLuck. Many of our money mongers, are half educated, yet we worship them.

Many illiterates can speak well. She is literate, but unfortunately, she makes mistakes here and there.  We should accept her like that.  if she is our mother, we will still love her.

Shino Peters said it " English is not our language"  Some of us who claim to know all also makes mistake from time to time.

Like one over zealous friend of mine who wanted to comment about another's English, and he said

Now you dont even know my age at all. sorry.
Another thing, are you saying the best advise is for her to SELL HER CAR  so that she can get a man huh?? Get real.
Cant you even see what some REAL men are talking about here?
Seriously evrybody here makes sense except .
Finally oops soryy I dont stoop low to the point of insult.I am way too mature for that.
Just asking are you like the NL chief whip or something?? I dnt know for real. clarify.I would appreciate.
I read the moderators names up there daily.
That post is meant for the 18 years old. If i miss read your 81 as 18 then it is unfortunate. The message is not meant for you since you are not 18.

However, she may not have to sell her car, it is not even what her friend advised. She said she should drop the car. Drop can mean many things other than sale.  To me, she can improve her chances of getting hooked up if she could stop or minimize leaving ostentatious life. Many  men are not comfortable with ladies that look like a rival rather than a wife.

Oooooh.Okay thank you for that dear

Shes kind of past the 'age'but come on,28 is still young as there's women at 35 still searching. Am 81 and searching anyway.
Well if shes comfortable then she should live her life.
PLEASE DO NOT ADVISE HER TO SELL HER CAR IN ORDER TO GET A MAN!! jeeeez! thats soo remote and cruel.Wrong foundation to a happy future.
What has a car got to do with marriage anyway unless you want to worship ithuh more than your spouse.A man worth her standard will come along one day and will embrace her together with all she got.
Hes only coming to add value to her life not take it away and viceversa!!
Now are u telling me that its only market traders that live where she ishuh the bank?? I mean tell her to get out there.
Ask her to place herself in strategic places and she will get her kind.
She spends all her hours in the market, then she will get market people cz they are the only ones noticing her.Dont blame them.
Do you have great hang out places there? I blve yes.Go with her every weeknd
You talk like a child you are. At 18 what are you searching for self.  The poster has giving her friend the best advice.  You don't seem to see any connection between the car and marriage because you are looking with a baby eye. You are also a girl and you cannot tell what goes on the mind or real men.

I will advice you to face your studies and stop wasting your time in this section of Niraland, it is not for small children like you.

You don't need to confront your guy to solve this problem. If you do, you might become the new Ex. If you don't care about that, then take any step you deem fit. But if you cherish the relationship you have with him, follow my lead. Use your brain, that is why God gave it to you.  Don't let him feel you are weak and helpless. Don't complain too much, else he will see you as nagging.

Find out if the girl is interested in him as well. Nothing will work between them if his Ex is not as enthusiastic as he is. May be she has moved on since. How often do she call him. Are they living near enough to have a date? Do you know the current boy friend of the girl. Find those who know the girl other than you man. Use your friends. Pry into her private life and daily routine. You might not have the time. But you are greatly bordered by what is going on. If you want it to stop, you got to make it stop. When you gather all the info, you will see that it is a simple matter to handle.

I would have loved to give you step by step approach to dealing with this, but for lack of time. Drop me a line if you want further assistance.

Your idea is not bad, but it will not be accepted by majority. Technology cannot be trusted by the educated not to talk of the half educated and the illiterates among us.

I have not heard this being used anywhere in the world, even in the technologically advanced countries. It is computer that control the text message system. The problem is that computers can be harked. People can deliberately attack the network and pull it down. most often the perpetrators can not be known. We don't know everything about computers, No one can guarantee that the system will not breakdown.

The security of a country like ours is too risky to be handed over to few machines.

RomanceRe: What's The Key To Successful Relationships? by MBG4Real(m): 6:38pm On Feb 19, 2011
The simple things you need to know to deepen your partnership and make your relationship work, especially when things seem to going sour is:

1. Learn that punishing your partner won't work. It may make you feel better to give them a hard time, but it will actually make them dig their heels in more. A better tactic is to reward the things you like and ignore what you don't like.

2. Money is the number one cause of couple conflict. For a relationship to work, you need to address your finances and work out a budget.

3. If the domestic work is not divided fairly between you, it will cause friction in your relationship. Make a list of the domestic tasks, talk it through with your partner and mobilise the whole family, your partner included, to share the work.

4. If you have children, involve your partner as much as possible with the childcare - even if you feel they are not as good at it as you are. It's important to present a united front to your children.

5. Sort out your sex life. The sex may ebb and flow over the years, but if sex starts going downhill, don't just accept it. As soon as you notice a slide, question why and then work at bringing the passion back.

6. Don't assume you won't be tempted to have an affair as almost everyone is. You need to learn to resist. If you do stray, don't feel it spells the end of your relationship. Most couples recover, particularly from a one-night-stand, and often find that unrooting the cause of the affair helps them to get even closer. So, you need to learn to resist. But don't think that an affair is the end of everything.

7. Remember that boredom typically covers up anger. If you feel bored with him, ask yourself what you're angry about.

8. Be aware that men generally feel overwhelmed by emotion more than women do. If he's angry or tearful, half an hour's 'unflooding' time to himself will help get his balance back and make him more able to interact positively with you.

Good luck to all that want a successful relationship

Feel free to add your own
@Pweety4me see my evaluation

No 1).  Correct. Punishing your partner doesn't help matters.

No 2).  Correct. We must be cautious where money is concerned.

No 3).  Not very correct. Tradition and culture has shared the domestic work long ago. However, with love we can make adjustments to accommodate each other.

No 4.) Correct. Don't take all the decisions about the children alone.

No 5). Correct. Don't let your sex life suffer. Make sacrifice even when it is difficult to do so.

No 6). Not very correct. Yes, learn to resist. Don't be fooled to assume that one-off slip won't cause much harm. It can really end everything, especially if you are the woman. Men can shatter their family, trust will be lost. According to DOM WILLIAMS, "Some broken hearts never mend, and some mends are never real"

No 7). Correct. If you begin to loath your partner, ask yourself why, and correct it immediately through communication

No 8.) Correct. Learn your partner well. According to JIM REEVES " Know when to hold on, know when to walk away. Talk at the right time.

@Pweety4me, permit me to make it up for you by adding No.9 and No.10)

No 9). This should actually be (No 1). Be Prayerful, Trust in God and put everything in His hand.

No.10). Communication is important. Always keep in touch. If you are separated by work Do not spend a day without talking. If you are together, do not use silence as a weapon.

Good luck to all.

Well I see it that their faith and true love they profess to each other is on test at this point. the man has faith that things will be better and that is why he proposed, but the lady is in doubt considering the hardship in Nigeria today and that's why she didn't accept the proposal outright. I faced such a situation and I thank God that I 'm having no regrets at all at all. My husband had nothing and I too had nothing but we are both graduates, today we are gainfully employed with our two luvly kids and we are very comfortable. It gives joy knowing that both of you built your family from the scratch rather than jumping into already made homes.
It is with FAITH that Abraham became the father of all nations, so if two of them will have faith that they will make it come what may and pray over it with all sincerity, you will be amazed at the favours and open doors of abundant blessings they will get!
Some people had good jobs and comfortable lives before marriage but later they became paupers while some were paupers but later became rich after marriage. Aku enwero ebe (meaning that wealth has no permanent residence)

Yes I would marry him even without a good job- because having a good job is not a guarantee of having a happy home, it is when you marry the person you truly love, trust and respect that you can feel happy and contented. so the lady should try and get her priorities right to avoid having regrets later.
Nice talk!!!
