i am perplexed at how Sanusi got into this topic. I amazed at our train of thought and reasoning. The boy's father is partly culpable because the boy could not have lived out these fantasies if the father cut o financial support after the boy disowned the family and the father was aware of his extreme tendencies. on another note, i see no link between this issue and his father's boardroom career.the link is psychotic and at best delusional. on a final note, all muslims and northerners are not like this.some of my best friends are northerners and muslims. these friends of mine are models of humanity and moderation. I am farthest from islam and do not believe in its tenets but all its believers cannot be painted in the light that is dominating this thread. |
ijeoma2619:such generalisation is unfair. i have northern muslim friends who are nothing but models of humanity and moderation. |
Princek12:in addition, the Niger delta nuts are in it for the money. the ideology is all about money making. |
Pataki:but they are not willing to kill themselves in the process. The average Nigerian is too cowardly for suicide tendencies. the MEND fundamentalists are in it for the money. the ritual killer is in it for the money. The only lot you can argue for is the Boko haram folks. even that one has to be fully researched. if nigerians were not cowards and not giving to suicide tendencies, our rapist political elite would long be gone. |
mbulela:his father is partly to blame. |
in my view, this is an isolated case. the average nigerian loves his life too much to go into sucide bombing. it is not in our make up. |
i am not convinced that his father did enough to tame this boy. After his UAE escapades, why did the old man not cut off funding to him? This boy would have been unable to attempt this crap without access to his father's money. in my view, based on the information in the public domain at present, the father's attempt was half hearted and there is more to this story. |
you must have met very few people indeed. |

Sun are rotten hypocrites |
Tony Cascarino There are three things in this world I’ve never been able to get my head round: people who wear wigs, growing old and sex. The Sun reports that an unnamed Barclays Premier League manager has been caught visiting a brothel — and on one level, I can’t imagine what he was thinking or why he’d be so daft. On another level, I understand completely. It takes me back to a meeting with the publishers I had before my book came out in Ireland. A fairly posh lady from Dublin, me and Paul Kimmage, my ghostwriter, were sat round a table. She went through the chapters. Every now and then she’d exclaim: “Oh, Tony, I can’t believe you did that!” And Paul would say: “Of course you can’t understand.” Eventually, she asked Paul: “Why do you keep saying that?” He replied: “Because you haven’t got a c**k.” And he was dead right: there are some things that men do because of sex that are hard if not impossible to explain — not just to women, but to other men and to themselves. That’s been the case in my life as I’ve gone through two divorces and made dozens of stupid mistakes. I could write a smug column full of sentences such as “what a disgrace”, “how disgusting”, “the shame of it”, but that would make me a hypocrite because — assuming this manager had more than just a massage, which hasn’t been proven — I can understand why he may have been driven by lust. Aren’t we all? Don’t we all have secret vices? It’s just a question of if, when and how we give in to them. RELATED LINKS Football boss in brothel story tests privacy laws Top-flight manager caught 'using a brothel' Top 50 sporting scandals Yes, it’s wrong to visit brothels. In a strange way, maybe that’s part of the appeal. Everyone wants to be a rule-breaker. When I was playing for Marseilles, in my thirties, I stole some sweets from a shop one day. What the hell was I thinking? I got a childish kick out of it at the time, but afterwards, I was angry with myself and so guilty that I stuck some money in the store’s charity box. I’m serious and sensible but now and again I have mad moments that I can’t explain when I give in to the wrong instincts. Even very intelligent people can fall into traps when desire overpowers conscience. That’s true of anyone in any job — even, as we saw a few years back, a president of the United States. Perhaps it’s more likely to happen to famous people such as footballers and football managers because there’s so much temptation out there for the rich and famous, even though they know the chances they’ll be caught are much greater. Leading managers work long hours under great pressure and spend a lot of time away from their families. It’s human nature to seek some sort of release. Enough managers have hit the bottle down the years; is it surprising that some might head for a brothel? It’s amazing more stories such as this don’t reach the papers. I know of one sportsman who’s got a guarantee from his representatives that a girl will be sent to his hotel room every time he’s in England. One player went to a massage parlour after a game and sat there waiting for his turn wearing only a towel while a fan who’d also been at the stadium asked for his autograph and chatted away happily to him about the match. The players at this manager’s club won’t care. They’ll probably rib him behind his back, some light-hearted banter, but it won’t affect their performances. Maybe some of them have got up to worse on stag dos or drunken nights out. If it turns out that this manager does have some explaining to do, whether to his partner or his chairman, then he should take the consequences of his actions on the chin. There’s no one to blame but himself. I can’t condemn or condone. I’m in no position to judge. All I know is that this man won’t be the last in football to do something so daft. As a woman once said to me: “When a man’s hard down below, he’s soft up above . . .” |
A PREMIER League manager spent more than an hour in the company of hookers in a "Thai" vice den, The Sun can reveal. And when confronted by our reporters as he left, the married boss smiled and shamelessly admitted he knew it was a brothel. We watched as the football chief was driven to the "massage parlour" last week. He was still dressed in branded soccer training gear. Creeping privacy laws in the UK, based on the Human Rights Act, mean we are barred from naming him. The brothel he visited is on an industrial estate and has no signs to indicate the seedy goings on inside. The manager stepped out of his car, pulled on an overcoat then walked in. More than an hour passed before the brazen boss emerged with his mobile phone glued to his ear. We confronted him and asked him to confirm his identity. He did - and smiled as he agreed he knew he had been in the company of hookers. Asked if he knew the building was a brothel, the soccer boss smiled and replied: "Yes." The Sun asked him why he was in a brothel, but he refused to answer - and got into the back of the car. When we asked him what he had been doing the car roared off at speed. Amazed But ten minutes later the same car returned with another driver at the wheel. The man rushed into the brothel before coming out a short time later. A delivery man who saw the extraordinary events unfold told The Sun: "Everyone around here knows that it's a brothel and not a massage parlour. "I was watching when the car pulled up and I was stunned when I saw who got out of the back. "I recognised him straight away and so I carried on watching until he came out about an hour later. "I was amazed that someone like him didn't try to hide what he was doing. "He just drove up, got out and went in. He obviously thought no one would recognise him but he's a Premier League football manager." The Sun can also reveal the manager was spotted outside the brothel, which uses Asian massage girls, in October. Again, he spent an hour inside. A football insider said: "This is a man who oversees a football club which has been involved in multi-million pound transfers and pays players tens of thousands of pounds every week. "Behaving like this leaves him and the club wide open to the threat of blackmail by criminals. Football is a massive business and he has a huge responsibility to the directors, the players and, of course, the fans. It's scarcely believable that he could be so reckless." Punters using the brothel are offered massages or Jacuzzis and saunas - but hidden extras are easy to find. A Sun reporter was let in after pressing an intercom buzzer on the front door. He walked into a foyer containing a washing machine and clean white towels. A woman, thought to be the brothel madam, appeared behind a steel barred gate and beckoned our man inside. She led him down a corridor and into a room with mirrored walls, where a woman in her 30s was waiting dressed in a maid's outfit. The girl told our man her services would cost £100 an hour. When he asked if he could order any extras, she nodded - and mimed a sex act with her hand and mouth. Our investigator then asked if she offered full sex and the hooker replied: "Ah no, that's what you want? I'll tell you later." The reporter then offered £70 for half an hour including full sex. But the girl replied: "One hundred and thirty pounds, it's better if you go one hour - everything." When the reporter said he did not have that much money on him, she asked how much he had. He counted out £100 and she replied: "That's fine - you have enough." When he asked if that included full sex, the girl said: "Shh, don't say that." She pointed outside and pushed the door to. She took the money, left the room and shut the door. The girl returned a couple of minutes later and said: "OK darling, take off all your things. Have you been here before? We'll take a shower and go to the Jacuzzi." Our man said he was nervous, regretted going there and wanted to leave. But the girl insisted she wanted to complete the "massage" because she had been paid and stripped to her bra and knickers. When our man told her he was leaving, the hooker returned with the brothel madam who offered him half his money back. Our investigator then left the building. |
This serial minister for any govt in power!! The man has no shame nor does his antics know any limits. The irritating part is that he tries to posture as an intellectual. intellectual crook,me thinks. utter tripe. |
Lalaboi, this award will wreck your rep (in the eyes of some of us who see you in a good light )see the crap some Mods are spouting on the thread on the frontpage https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=368639.msg5165138#msg5165138 this whole concept is wrong. We spend all our time on this board castigating PDP and INEC yet we can't do simple fun things in a proper way. Why do Mods think they are so intelligent that they can determine 3 or 4 persons on a board who are eligible for awards? Do you know what others appreciate in posters on the board? go and see the guy that won the award on the politics board.he makes some persons cringe but he was nominated severally, so even if some people claim the entire process was not clean at least it was largely transparent. i know it does not affect the outcome but i will not participate in this selection that is devoid of mass participation. why are you complaining about the fact that their is no time?this is meant to be fun and could be determined at any time.Is their a constitutional restriction that makes time a necessity in this matter?Or is there a deadline from Google, again? i beg make una free me. enter the Naija music thread and arrange my request for me, i beg u. |
tell them to search my own profiles when they are online. |
Shady Deal:the man is an inconsequential tout. I wonder why people pay him any attention. So speaking crap like he does equates to being intelligent? Then Chinua Achebe and co must be idiots. I don't even find his theatrics funny. maybe the first or second time i saw him, ever since, i delete without even reading. |
Lagosboy:you have only added to the talk shop. lead the way, since you know the way. others are waiting or you. Pls do not disappoint. |

Agriculture and Water Resources Minister, Dr. Sayyidi Abba Ruma, believed to be a key member of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s kitchen cabinet, yesterday slammed critics of the president’s continued stay abroad on medical grounds. He accused them of playing politics with the president’s health issue in order to gain advantage in the forthcoming 2011 general election. President Yar’Adua has been admitted at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia since November 23, 2009 after complaining of chest pains. He was diagnosed with acute pericarditis, an inflammation of the membrane around the heart. But the failure of the president to follow the procedure in Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution by writing to the National Assembly and handing over to Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan has drawn the ire of many critics including G.53, which has continued to call on him to resign. Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Ruma said there was evidence to the effect that those speculating that the nation is at a standstill because of the long absence of President Yar‘Ádua are doing so for selfish reasons. On the perceived failure of the president to hand over to Jonathan, Ruma who hails from the same state with Yar’Adua said it was wrong to suggest that things were not working the way they should, pointing out that such insinuations were the handiwork or those who allowed their emotions to becloud their reasoning. He said: “The Minster of Information and Communication is in a better position but as a member of the Federal Executive Council having known that this issue has been addressed and made public, it is important to try to remove the emotion of the human mind especially as we are getting close to 2011 and there are indices that Nigerian politics is involved. “But we always believe that we must always try as much as possible to locate ourselves to the reality that means looking at the nation as more important than individual interest.” Ruma said the absence of President Yar’Ádua from the country on medical ground was not new as the nation had previously witnessed such incident during the military era. According to the minister, “there are developments that have taken place in Nigeria that are factual, on record and are obtainable. The most important thing is that I will advise that let us as much as possible remove the whims and caprices of our emotions for the public good. “Let us not hold the Nigerian public to ransom; let us not continue to deceive them but educate and enlighten them because we have the opportunity with information at our door step today. “What you are asking is not really strange but it is something that has a lot of information available on ground and it has been so repeatedly made public. I cannot understand why the whims and caprices of our emotions should not be detached from the public good. “There is no way we can advance unless our individual selfish requirements are divorced from the reality. All issues that have been raised are not correct. I am just corroborating what the Minister of Information has said. The Federal Executive Council has sufficiently made that public and references have been made also to situations like this.” Ruma said further: “A President of Nigeria was sick at one time although during the military era and had to seek medical attention for about three months. Where were you? It is not too long ago. Where were you? The information is also at your door step. What has happened? “It is not also sufficiently correct to say that things are at a standstill. You cannot provide evidence to that effect. “I think it is high time we realised that Nigerians should be fed with what should be proactive to our democracy and what would be good for the country.” On the report of the House of Representatives Committee on Procurement which indicted the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources for allegedly exceeding its budget for 2009 by over N23 billion without recourse to the National Assembly, Ruma said it not “sufficiently correct.” He said what was provided in the Appropriation Act was not the total amount of money required in many of the projects which have been at different implementation stages over the years, adding that projects were provided for in the medium term sector target so that they could be “re-presented” every year for appropriation so that they could be completed within the procurement lifespan. |
lalaboi, you disappoint me. how can you just choose people without even telling us the criteria? due to differing taste and desires in music,i have had reasons to disagree with almost every poster here at one time or the other but i find it difficult to understand why people like Khanye, missLu21 and yourself (where is the law against nominating mods in the constitution?) are not included in the list? how do you define positive contribution? for some people the regular contributors to that Naija music download thread are the most positive and important people in this section. just open it up and let people vote for whoever they like. |
One day the story o Nduka Obiagbena will be told and i hope to be an audience to that story. I'm still trying to understand what his aim is with all these silly concerts. Imagine 50 cent has been on the cover of Thisday for the past two days!! 50 cent on the cover of a serious newspaper, for two days ![]() ![]() ??Something is seriously wrong at that Thisday. I hope they are not using this concerts to launder money for someone. come to think of it. the pic of JayZ and co has been on their home page for over 2 years. Is that an advert or what? |
i think too much importance is given to these band of crooks. Pay them little attention and give them little prominence while monitoring them closely. Those calling his brother an illiterate should take a closer look at Andy's fake CV. how did he make the money he is throwing around at present? the same question i asked about Soludo? all these unprincipled crooks are simply shameful. today you are in PDP 2moRO LP. is there no honour amongst thieves? |
All those things you dont like in Ojukwu is the very thing we LOVE in him. He first loved us passionately, and we'll forever love him for that. He represents the Igbo spirit and that is why a boy of 10 down east measures his 'Igboness' by how Ojukwu he is. Take it or leave it. Love him or hate him. Call him a hero or a coward. Insult him or praise him. You'll get what i mean if you fly this your mouth in the streets of UNN or UNIZIK or ESUT or FUTO among others. Those are our intellectual hubs back home and they love this man more than you can imagine. So stop wasting your time persuading any Igbo man to hate Ojukwu because you wont ever get that. That guy's approval rating in your domain may be 10%(that is from most Igbo inhabitants in your area) but his rating in the south east is like 99.5%. So, invest your time wisely and leave our 'cowardly' Ojukwu for us. We love him more than you can imagine and there is nothing you can do about that!!!
speak for yourself. |

Just hold on, Nduka Obiagbena will find a way and institute an award called SURVIVING BANK(ER) OF THE YEAR. that charlatan is a glorified hustler. He and Ctiy People's publisher are singularly responsible for the bastardization of awards in the media. Vanguard na small boys for their side. |
