it was okay. nothing exceptional in my view. the fact that there is no 100ml bottle is another dislike. 75ml bottles do not make sense at their prices. i just don't like the idea of linking a fragrance to a celebrity (i dislike most of them any way). it was okay but obviously not one of my favourites. |
tboy1:lovely coincidence it is the one i am referring to. will not repeat it and will not use a celebrity endorsed fragrance again. |
Jarus:any proof? have you ever heard him profess the faith? |
bodsibobo:that article was a classic. i loved it to beats. |
one thing i don't do, wear frangrances endorsed by celebrities. i tried it once and vowed never to repeat it again. besides not liking the fragrance in question as much as it was recommended, my ego is too big for that. |
it changes from time to time. there was a time i was crazy for GUCCI - Envy. Before then it was CAROLINA HERRERA - 212 H20 then ARMANI - Code. I can humbly submit that i have used almost all designer fragrances and now i don tire. been there done that and have the Tshirt I just buy any good one that catches my mood when in the mall and in need of a new one. |
beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder, like they say. She is not my type at all. |
i have been thinking hard about adding a female to the list. i have finally arrived at a choice; Mrs Ayo Obe Intelligent, professional, simple and cultured. Committed to a cause, strong willed and admirable. A good example of a Nigerian woman. |
Jarus:in Nigeria, anyone that is not a muslim, is automatically a Christian. i find it amusing. |
Jarus, you don come again. forget all those FT articles, i read as much of them as you (if not even more), yet i take their writings on Nigerian business leaders with a pinch of salt.thay are not on the ground and do not know what is happening here.additionally, they are not willing to put in the necessary effort in investigating the persons in full like they will do with western business leaders. i have articles by reputable publications like the Mckinsey Quarterly where someone like cecelia ibru were painted as female role models in the Nigerian business space and the impression was given that she was banking wonder woman, when it was clear to any idiot that she was just running a hit and run bank built on fraud and deception. So articles like the FT one you quoted are neither here nor there. is it not the same FT whose sister publication called the Banker was dishing out awards after awards to this cowboy bankers?how are they different rom Nduka Obiagbena in that regard? However, i do not wish to discredit the success of Wale Tinubu, my point is that it is overtly simplistic to just attribute his success to little savings probably from savings, family and friends is simply put, fictional at best.Nigerians are quick to believe that business leaders are cutting corners and basically briefcase businessmen fronting for the rapists in power because over and again, it has been proven to be true. Wale Tinubu might not be in that class but the picture you paint is not believable by me.afterall, na naija we dey!!! |
been listening to the following songs in recent days; racing with the devil on a spanish highway - AL DIMEOLA love me like a man - DIANA KRALL mannenberg - ABDULLAH IBRAHIM Crazy - CASSANDRA WILSON song for Johny Dyani - SIPHO GUMEDE In time - COURTNEY PINE both sides now - HERBIE HANCOCK |
all these paid faceless sycophants |
i do not always agree with these three persons but i find their posts illuminating and their view points interesting. Ajanlekoko Ibime Kobojunkie there are a few more that fit the bill but i wish to stick to the rules of the game. |
Yar’Adua: FG ’ll continue to run optimally — Akunyili Latest NewsDec 1, 2009 By Laide Akinboade ABUJA — In spite of the hospitalisation of President Umaru Yar’Adua in a Saudi hospital, the Minister of Information and Communications, Professor Dora Akunyili, yesterday, said the Federal Government machinery would continue to operate optimally. The President who is currently on treatment abroad has elicited unprecedented debate on whether he should continue in office, with political opponents calling for his resignation on ground of incapacitation. Although Akunyili did not expatiate how the Federal Government could possible run optimally without the President, she assured that government would not be grounded, as argued in some quarters. However, she commended Nigerians for their concern for the President and urged that they continue to pray for him and his family. The terse statement reads in full: “The Federal Government wishes to convey her appreciation to all Nigerians who have joined in prayers for quick recovery of our President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua “We appreciate the solidarity and support of the good people of Nigeria in the past few days that Mr. President has been away. “Government wishes to appeal to all Nigerians to continue to uphold Mr. President, his family, and the nation in prayers at these trying times. “The Federal Government wishes to re-assure all Nigerians that all machinery of government will continue to function optimally at all levels, as we wait prayerfully for the return of Mr. President.” |
Kobo, in view of the above, can i welcome you to my club? the club that asserts that Jonathan is inept, cluless and out of his depth? |
his luck has run out. |
Beaf:this is where we depart. you and i have diametrically opposing view of the man Goodluck Jonathan. i think you are ascribing too much intelligence to that man. there was no power play. i simply think that he was handpicked as Odili's hands were way too dirty and his heart too greedy for the position. well, only time will tell who is correct. but i am convinced that the man Jonathan is a docile, inept, clueless vice president. you have not made any effort to convince me otherwise. |

loabb:i am glad he has nothing more to say. some silence will be much appreciated. enough of all these aimless predictions. |
Beaf, pls lets steer clear of the insults and discuss as adults (i know they were not aimed at me but still, ) so kindly respond to my post. |
whoever is responsible. |
bros, you are exaggerating matter. Jonathan did not do anything to outsmart the people you mentioned. Obasanjo (in his own wisdom ?) picked him.don't try to rewrite history. the man is inept and all other adjectives i used in my previous post. your second point on Ibori falls within the framework of the 75% you ascribed to me earlier. |
so do we agree that he is docile and more importantly that his docility is not a strategic intent but an inherent ineptitude or cluelessness, better still a result of being out of his depth. |
Beaf, your estimation of Jonathan is grossly exaggerated. i challenge you to reveal the backing he supposedly has. when i think of he and yar adua at the helm of affairs in the country, i just shudder. how such inept, dull and clueless men found themselves to the seat of power in a country as strategic and combustible like ours baffles me. one of the Nigerian daily days back wrote a profile on him labelling him an academic scholar,i almost fainted. Jonathan, an academic scholar?? i wrote the editor asking him never to use such oxymoron in future. The Nigerian education system deserves a funeral in that case. the man should just play along with whatever the likes of Ibori and Saraki cook up in the name of a plan. He does not have the heart nor the brain for such strategic positions. to make matters worse, his hands are not even clean. No sane person can panic over Jonathan. the northern elite are panicking over their individual selfish interests.each is trying to position himself for the looting bazaar that lies ahead. in all this,we the masses do not factor into the equation. It is a shame because the barbarians are at the gate again. |
Seun and his moderators, stop acting arrogant and change the damn title on the homepage. You are not dealing with idiots. |
Jarus, as much as i like your infectious enthusiasm, you come across as a tabloid journalist atimes. the way you just rule out the criticisms of Wale Tinubu's success is arrant and impatient. statements like the bolded phrase below are extremely misleading. i know you are not ignorant.you know better than this. Wale Tinubu way(with little resources probably from family or savings, start something local, dare, take a bold step, and go global) |
why are you breaking your head?
exactly what you are you talking about? did you not get my post? i said i hope he's not gay cause he just won a new female fan. DUH! dont you get it? im tired, im outta here.
|
his sexuality is a non issue. what does it change? |
na today!! if he was going to go completely mad he would have a long time ago. It's been a long time he started.Right from the days of Kese Jabari (for those old enough to remember Kese),i expected him to be tired by now but dude is still going with his wierdo. It takes a lot of guts to be that way in naija but he keeps going. He is not my cup of tea but i find him better than Charly Boy. An old man wearing eye pencil with contact lenses and more piercings than coins in the bowl of a beggar at Maryland Junction. I have seen both in close proximity and i know who i find scarier. Denrele's sexuality is a none issue. |
i do not trust any man completely as i believe the complete story is unknown from outside but these three are worthy of some emulation. Gamaliel Onosode Atedo Peterside Cobhams Asuquo
