If Amaechi was contesting against Wike, the result would have been marginally worse.

It is an indictment on Amaechi that he with his incumbency that Wike and mama peace could floor him so easily.
Look at Rochas who has similar federal might to contend with. Besides, Rochas has to maintain some level of decorum as he has a second term to fight for. Yet if PDP rig in Imo, it will be an extremely close race.
Ameachi that could throw the kitchen sink at Wike and Patience (I am not talking of violence) as he has no election to face, yet he is being b.itch slapped left and right.

I had PDP like the next man but i love reality.
Amaechi and Dakuku lost to a man who irrespective of his brawl filled brain and lack of any coherent plan for the state apart from violence, is a grassroots mobilizer. That is the only thing that works in Rivers politics. The people are not interested in ideology nor plenty grammar.
After 16 years in power, Amaechi was floored with ease by Wike.
He needs to rethink his political mechanism. It is exceedingly faulty.

Most predictable victory in this season.
Elections in rivers state are neither ideological nor won by rantings. It is a matter of grassroot structures.
In 8 years as governor and 8 years as speaker, Amaechi has zero structure. As a politician, he is a failure. THere is no better way of putting it. Can you imagine going to the polls with March salaries still unpaid?
He should stop insulting our sensibilities and quietly concede defeat. Dakuku should call Wike and congratulate him.

Having said that Wike's tenure will be interesting. The man is all brawn and no brain. Rivers people have boarded a one chance danfo. It will be fun watching from aside.

For people like me who are ardent fans, joining PDP was his greatest undoing. I would not go as far as calling him a hypocrite just yet but he certainly acted with some naivete.

Funny enough joining PDP was the least of his sins in my books.
Literally recanting all the allegations he ever made is what made him worthless in my books.

Politics is all about rewarding interests and factions.there is no way he will not be rewarded in this new dispensation. It might not be as high as some people expect but he will be rewarded. However, if he wants tough far after 2019, he needs to tone down his brush attitude, build a structure in rivers state and beyond and talk less. Politics is a marathon not a sprint.

O boy lef mata 4 Mathias,,,when Celestine Omehia was made PDP candidate in 07 and he subsequently won the governorship election,when Amaechi liver fail am and he ran to Ghana,who stay back for PH dey pursue the electoral cases to disqualify Omehia and replace him with Amaechi as PDP's authentic candidate?.Who went round the state to get all the material evidence and produce the withnesses. Na Wike nah,,,Wike was doing everything on ground and assuring Amaechi to calm down that Omehia will be kicked out and he (Amaechi)will be governor,,,AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED

This legend beginning to sound like truth. Wike's role in that drama cannot be denied but he was not the only one who was on ground and reassuring Amaechi who was far away in Ghana. The story is already been told as if wike single handedly overturned the result.
That being said, Wike will likely win this election even if repeated thrice.
