It's entirely possible I might have confused you for one of Sanusi's ethnic and religious hiehard praise singers, and for that I apologize. "Sanusi supporter" is not even a term I want to use on my worst enemy, but some blind folks here do deserve that title.
If you mounted as many roadside shows as Sanusi did when he first came into office, you too would get some awards, but the truth is in the remaining 3 years ahead.
Taking Plendil's lengthy response into account and especially that quote at the end, what exactly is your beef with SLS? Let us hear your pain with the man who I am also not a big fan of. Maybe we all need to reevaluate our understanding of the role of a reserve bank.

Moving unto more important issues;
Belated congrats madam,on your anniversary.
I have always had slight doubts on your gender.
You have such a wicked and dry sense of humour that is almost masculine in writing.
That paparazzi moment put my doubts to rest.
Happy anniversary and may the lines fall ever more pleasantly for you and yours in this new year.

I would not attend your UNN if it's offered to me for free. If you had studied in proper university in europe, you would have agreed with me that those universities in Nigeria are huge jokes.

I have gone through Soludo's CV and I don't see anything that big there. I am an Igboman too, before you start accusing me of ethnic bias.

Bismarck ke? Make una leave that one to be quoting theory on tv and in businessday. What organisation has he managed apart from his one man consultancy? Reserve bank governor no be supermarket business or entrepreneurship of investing stolen loot. Stop suggesting all these funny names.
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by mbulela: 11:39pm On Dec 28, 2013
odeotito: We've a rich pool to choose from - Bismarck Rewane, Atedo Peterside, Tony Elumelu et al. These folks are proven and ready. They can keep distractions at bay and will be seen but not heard - that's who the quientessential banker is! They all appear ready!! This is not about the tribal - the talk about it been the turn of the Yoruba to present the next CBN Governor is a put off sort of!!!
Being reserve bank governor is not about all that plenty talk that Rewane is always talking on tv. For the reserve bank governor,we need men with proven records of building institutions and team players not men who have been running one man consultancy most of their adult lives and spouting textbook economic on tv.
The case of Elumelu has been discussed earlier in this thread. We need to keep these banking cowboys far from our public space. Let them stick to enjoying their loot in the private space and keep deceiving gullible folks with all these videos posted here.
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by mbulela: 9:41pm On Dec 28, 2013
peleson: Atedo Peterside is the BEST!
Better choice than most of the names bandied so far on this thread. He meets most of the xteristics I think a central bank governor needs in our clime.
However his antics during the fuel subsidy saga left a lot to be desired.

naijaking1: Not sure if you alluded to working for intercontinental or not. But the issue is simple. What was Intercontinental before Akingbola? How much was it worth, the stocks, and how many employees, I mean able bodied Nigerian men and women who make a living off the bank?
All these did not matter, because there was a petty personal agenda by Sanusi to destroy what he didn't build with allegations, more allegation, and he even convinced some well meaning Nigerians like yourself that he should be trusted. He claimed unimaginable crimes, coined phrases like round-tripping all in an attempt to neutralize what Akingbola built.
It will take years to fully unfold the damages done to our financial system by Sanusi. The Akingbolas, the Okadas, and Ubongs of this attacks were nothing but innocent bystanders of system gone horribly wrong.
Is that all? Or you are planning to say more? Cos I ma struggling to see the foresighted and innovation you are ttalking about.
The wrong I see that SOS did was that he was selectively his treatment. It is ashamed that an AIG ended up buying Erastus bank. Both deserved the same treatment.
Akingbola's house was built on quicksand.
Those cowboys and lady were empowered by Soludo to exhibit gross financial rascality.
Leave all that story about providing jobs. Do you know how many jobs he and his likes created. We need to stop hiding behind that excuse when addressing failures. after all, robbers are creating jobs for economy too,abi you no know?

naijaking1: Akingbola remains an idol to enterpreneurship in Nigeria!
In any societies, he would be praised for his innovation and foresight. In Nigeria, where the bad people ALWAYS win, I'm not surprised that the man is not respected.
Innovation and foresight in what exactly?
Please educate me.

nyabingi: you are correct, wish others see things this way, the cbn guvnorship is not cutout to politics and personal sentiments, that was where sanusi got it wrong, we need the likes of clement isong and soludo!
Until Soludo got bogged down by the politics of his position and started struggling for the limelight with his cowboy banking CEOs.
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by mbulela: 8:15pm On Dec 28, 2013
If you have heard Tony elumelu talk and subsequently you concluded that he is the CBN gov that this country needs, then you have no clue what the role of a reserve governor much less the reserve bank is.
To those clamouring for AIG, managing a reserve bank is not the same America publicity and deposit chasing which is the hallmark of retail banking.
We need a reserve bank governor that is not an attention sseeking w.hore, is very long on policy,a team player and has a strong track record of institution building.
We do not need all these banking cowboysbwith loads of skeletons in the graveyard.
No to Tony Elumelu and AIG.
They should enjoy their loot in peace.

AjanleKoko: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, friend.
Passed through there on Sunday night, and the improvement is beyond remarkable, considering where we are coming from.
The screening wait can take all of two hours, but on Sunday, I only spent 8 minutes.
To crown it all, we finally have just one officer attending to each passenger, not the usual two. Very impressive, and thumbs up to FAAN and the current minister. In more than two decades, we have not seen the likes of what has been done in airport facility renovation. Easy to downplay everything as we always do in Nigeria, but since most of us are not able or competent to do better if they were put in those positions, people need to dial it down jare.

Of course there was the usual ragging by the officials (hardly surprising since that one is hardwired into our collective DNA embarassed) But that should not detract from the very welcome facility improvement. My two cents.
Before you congratulate madam minister finish, come and see the departure lounge that was commissioned in PH roughly 3 weeks ago. The restrooms are flooded and the WCs are broken. Meanwhile work has long stopped on the arrival part. This renovation has gone on for over 18 months. How difficult can it be to renovate arrival and depature lounges of airport? Ano na new airport dem dey build?
The overwhelming mediocrity in service delivery is gut wrenching.

Business › Re: Stanbic Bank Attacks Nigerias Ecommerce Sites Jumia, Quickteller, Voguepay, Paga by mbulela: 9:10am On Dec 20, 2013
All these. Xenophobic hysteria are a bit worrying. Stanbic has very little traction relative to other card issuers. If they are the only card issuers Naspers are banking on, then they are dead on arrival. Since they said the suspension is temporary, why not give it a shot while before hyperventilating?
Career › Re: What Is Your Career Path? by mbulela: 11:12pm On Dec 19, 2013
AjanleKoko: One positive I have seen in recent years is the willingness of settled 'companymen' like myself to ditch the corporate ladder and try their hands on enterpreneurship. It started when a lot of peoples' hands were forced by redundancies in the financial sector, and now I see more and more people opting out to do their own thing. Also, I see people quitting the MNC heavyweights to join startups: two of my colleagues moved from relatively secure and well-paying jobs at our MNC telco, to online startups. At least, options are being created, people just need to be more proactive and take responsibility for their futures.
Oga, your phone just dey ring off the hook and you no dey reply my calls.
