Bobby4090: I hope the deputy Gov. also takes not and makes peace with Suntai fast because there is nothing in this life apart from vanity.
If there is nothing in this life apart from vanity (sic),why is Suntai hell bent on holding on to power even when he is visible not well in the head? If the state was his business venture, will he allow a man/woman in the state of health he is in to run or oversee it?
The greed and hypocrisy is mind boggling

moodswing: Obiano and Ifeanyi Ubah are decent candidates for the office. Ngige isn't up for consideration. His calibre of man isn't suited for an office that requires transparency, accountability an service.
You deserve to be flogged in a public square for making this sort of comment.
How can you use Ifeanyi Ubah and transparency and accountability in one sentence?
At least Ngige has a record worth considering. What record does Peter Obi's boy have?

Nothing will come out of this drama.
If GEJ was going to fire her,he would have done so already. Not only is the man clueless and inept, he is in bed (figuratively) with bandits and rouges. How a sane person can approve over 240 million naira for a couple of official cars is subject to psychiatric probe.
I hope Cosmas Maduka will have his day too to explain his part of the drama. I do not think this scam went without kickbacks.Next thing he will appear with a big bible and large crested JESUS written boldly on his jackets. He need to speak out else,he is worse than Ifeanyi Uba.
No wonder folks on the street find it difficult to believe that their are honest rich men around. They all seem to be involved in varying degrees of scams, all perpetuated with our common wealth.

AjanleKoko: You're also suffering from the 'strong man' syndrome cheesy

Jonathan is just a local man with a gregarious, though semi-literate, wife. Interestingly, the majority of Nigerians found him the most acceptable candidate in the last elections, despite all these 'flaws'. Now they compare him to Obama. Which is kind of laughable, I mean, how many Nigerians even come close to Obama?

As for Patience. What stops the other 'strong men' from ignoring her? I guess she has a 'strong' hold on Jonathan, and they know it grin
Jonathan cannot be compared to even a good number of bloggers on this site,Not to talk of Obama. The Jonathan fellow is a poor specimen for any sort of leadership construct. He fails on almost every level;clueless, inept, uninspiring and cowardly.
However, i disagree with Obama assertion. Dude is more hype than anything else. Their are dozens of Nigerians who can do whatever he has done, way better. I am not talking of prospects, i am talking of Nigerians with tangible results in their lives and careers. Obama is just a product of good marketing and a gullible buying public. He is a very intelligent man but nothing extraordinary.

danny301: Guy, everything is not politics... Suntai needs that exercise for his recuperation... Thank God he is on his way to recovery, whether he will still govern the state or not is inconsequential, so instead of reading onlookers' facial expressions, try to see the positive side of the whole thing which is the fact that the governor is getting better.
More than anything else, he needs resignation to recuperate properly. If this man had any form of sanity left in him,he would long have resigned. The fact that he has not resigned is proof that he is too sick in the head to be a governor.

Politics › Ubah Appears Broke As Campaigns Enter Crucial Stage by mbulela(op): 8:58am On Oct 21, 2013
By Shola Oyeyipo

Less than four weeks to the Anambra State governorship election, there are fears that one of the leading candidates in the election, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah, may be running out of cash to successful prosecute his ambition.

THISDAY checks revealed that Ubah, who was the first among the aspirants to hop into the fray with an elaborate declaration early last month, was completely broke and searching for avenues to raise funds to complete the race slated for November 16.

But a source close to the Labour Party (LP) candidate has dismissed the insinuation and described it as absolute baloney concocted by the opposition to diminish the growing profile of the governorship hopeful. The source said such mudslinging would have come from no other quarter than the camp of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

However, investigations revealed that Ubah's campaigns which started with great momentum had begun to lose its steam as he seemed to lack adequate fund to sustain the tempo while other candidates are intensifying their campaigns.

It was gathered that the cash crunch which has hit the oil magnate was because those he had thought would sustain his cash needs were gradually turning their back on him. The situation is said to be so bad with the Ubah campaign that funds for mobilisation and publicity are difficult to come by.

Not unaware of the situation which poses great threat to his ambition, Ubah was said to have made frantic but unsuccessful efforts to pump in more money to re-energise his campaigns.
One of the steps allegedly taken, it was learnt, was an attempt to raise about N1billion from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), which had taken over his company, Capital Oil and Gas Limited. AMCON had two months ago taken over the management of Ubah's company following his inability to service loans running into several billions that he obtained from banks.

An AMCON source revealed that the request was turned down by the corporation and the development is believed to have further slowed down the oil magnate's campaign.
While Ubah has not yet relented on his ambition, observers have attributed his financial woes to naivity, exuberance, extravagance and needless spending that have so far characterised his campaigns, having started a bit too early.

"You cannot imagine that while they have not actually campaigned effectively to woo Anambrarians who live in the state and who are the real voters, he (Ubah) has continued to go to Lagos and even America for campaigns. While he does that, a lot of money that would have been useful for his campaigns here is wasted. Or wouldn't you say that is wastage?" queried an Anambra-based politician who pleaded anonymity.

Sources close to his campaign organisation claimed that most of his advertisements and other publicity needs were being executed on credit with another huge debt profile waiting to haunt him after the election.

But the source which defended him said Ubah who was still basking in his showing at the governorship debate in far away Florida, United States, had visibly changed the political gear along with his supporters, urging more people to join in the effort to build a better future for the state and her citizens when they speak for a positive change with their votes on the election day.

“There’s just one month to go until Anambrarians cast their ballots and choose their next governor. It’s an important choice – one that will have a major impact on the future of our dear state,” Ubah once said, adding that “As I have travelled across this great state speaking to voters and listening their priorities for this critical election, one thing has become clear: they are sick of the same old political tricks and want a fresh approach.

“I want to bring the skills and expertise I’ve developed while building a successful global business, and put them to work for the people of my state. I have a plan to transform the state into an African business hub, and with your help, I will put that plan into action,” he added.

dabigwalls: Sorry about your challenge sir. I am certain that given that you have complained to the appropriate authorities and contacts in Glo, a resolution will soon be effected. In the meantime, some effort will go into solving this problem.

Networks are not as bad as we think they are sometimes because after all is said and done, they are technologies that are susceptible to a number of elements and variables that work against their efficiency in an uncontrollable manner. Nevertheless, the Glo network is built around you - the user hence a number of interventions that were proudly unique to Glo. When other networks were breaking your bank accounts with per minute billing, Glo introduced per second billing. That philosophy surrounds everything about the Network that glows with pride, encourages you to rule your world and to believe that your capacity and potentials as a person are Unlimited.

Please expect my call.
So because you introduced per second billing, users should remain servants to crappy services for the rest of their lives?

The successes in the Transportation Sector including revitalization of collapsed and abandoned Railway Networks nationwide and the establishment of new modern gauge in Abuja, Kaduna, Ajaokuta and Lagos are self-evident.

Road Infrastructure has been handled expertly and effectively. These include:

a. Benin – Ore Road

b. Kano – Maiduguri dual carriage way

c. Enugu – Port Harcourt

d. Abuja – Abaji – Lokoja

e. Apapa – Oshodi Express way

How some of these men sleep at night bothers me. How can a supposedly sane man tell such lies without blinking?

mojeer678: What profound truth?

You can't put the ugly mushroom cloud back into that shiny uranium sphere, apology to Asimov.

You will have better luck squeezing the toothpaste back into the tube. bidam seriously erred by stating that the Blessed Saviour and Redeemer, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah was a pharisee.

As far as I'm concerned, the same source can't produce both fresh water and stagnant water at the same time; can't bring forth guava and cocoyam.

Error and profound truth are mutually exclusive.

You need to brush up the critical thinking notebooks!
Truth in the part i quoted grin
I find this tithing issue boring, although my view is obvious.
That i do not share all his views does not mean that i can never agree with everything he says.

On the other side of the argument. All those preaching against tithe, i also hope your finances are as sold out to God as your anti-tithe sermons? I hope like Abraham you dare not withhold the Isaac of your finances? Knowing that He that gave you Isaac can and will bring him back from the death. Not enough to give left overs and be shouting. Not to tithe!!
Extremes are from the pit of hell.

Alwaystrue: If giving a tenth to the ministers can be such a challenge and can cause this level of quibbling, we then know the hearts of man. It is so easy to know a person with regards to how he acts when money matters are discussed.
You actually think giving a tenth of your increase shows where your heart lies?
It simply shows that you are legalistic and your heart is not sold out on God.
All these tithe talk are often boring. If our hearts are freely and sold out to God, our finances will be at his disposal. We will not be arguing for percentages. Why should ministers be given a 10th? Why can't pastors practice the faith they preach and believe God for their sustenance? Using tithe as a form of insurance benefit.Besides a pastor should be on a salary as soon as the church is able to support him. Before then,he should know JIREH for himself and practice what he preaches. Besides,if he is ministering to his people spiritual food, how will they not minister carnal food to him?
Christianity Etc › Re: Anti-tithers Are Playing On The Intelligence Of Nigerian Churches by mbulela: 9:24pm On Oct 14, 2013
Bidam: As for ALL who don't go to church anymore because of tithe and other doctrines, who spend hours lazying on the internet thinking this is Church, you need to understand that biblical separation is one thing, but refusing to participate in any local assembly because you alone understand true godliness can be an indication of spiritual pride, self-deception, and a recipe for trouble.

May the Lord guide US as WE seek to attain Biblical balance and remain true to Him. Amen!!
There is a profound truth in this.
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Churches Really Helping The Poor And Unemployed In Our Society Today? by mbulela:
Pastor Kun: God has no need for us to worship him with our finances, he is more interested in our heart.

Acts 17:24
24 The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything , seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
I am not one of the Tithe bangers here but you and I know that God wants us to worship him with everything that we have.
No part of your life must be exempt from him. Worshipping him with your wealth does not mean being gullible and liable to extortionists. It means acknowledging him as the source of your increase and submitting it to him, just like you submit every other thing in your life to his service.
God is most interested in our heart but it must manifest in tangible means. A heart that is sold out to God cannot withhold its finance from God. Worshipping God with your finances does not equate to given him something he needs.
Abraham obviously knows that God did not need Isaac but because his heart was sold out to God, He did not consider Isaac too much of a possession to withhold from God.
Guy,worshipping God with your finances is much more than tithes.
Tithes na small pikin things.
Hirelings are just using it to manipulate some gullible folks.
How can a person whose heart is sold out to God be debating over 10%? while some are asking dumb questions about gross and net income. Just pay your basic bills one month and in amazement at His wonder, just tell am say "Baba you too much. On top giving you my heart, i am giving you all of my income this month as an act of worship" and he will just direct you to one missionary wey dey hinder lands of Taraba. you just wire the entire money to the man and his family. Or you just walk up to that family wey dey forever trek to church and their poverty dey evident to all. Just tell the man make he and his wife write list for the month. Carry them enter market and embarrass them with blessings until your salary account empty.
Notice i did not say anything about special offering or building project or even prophet's seed.
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Churches Really Helping The Poor And Unemployed In Our Society Today? by mbulela: 2:14pm On Oct 14, 2013
FOREXMARTS: When ur earning money, pay ur tithe, seed, offering but when ur down in the ditch with no food in ur tummy they tell you the lord is ur strength but still pay ur tithe and offering gaddamn it. All they do is exthort, exthort and exthort. When u need help they say the lord is ur strength but when they need money they will preach giving up and down till u submit ur last card. Pastor the lord is ur strength too.

I have decided now to only go to church to worship God and network. No man is gonna talk me into releasing my cash to him again.
I feel your pain. You still need to find a way to worship God with your finances. It is the Godly thing to do.
Most importantly, know God for yourself and know His Word and ignore extortionists?
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Churches Really Helping The Poor And Unemployed In Our Society Today? by mbulela: 2:09pm On Oct 14, 2013
The fact that churches are not doing enough actually highlights the resources available to the churches and painfully how a lot of it is being thrown away.
I will rather have a discussion on how churches welfare program (no matter how inadequate you and i think it is) has grown to become the only safety net for the poor in this country. If Churches were to cease charity work for a month in this country,I think there will be a total collapse of the polity.

I don't blame the singers (most of them cannot be called artistes).I'll rather blame the paying crowd that keep patronising them.
I have seen a good number of Nigerian acts and i have a list of those i will see again after the first time. Same way i have a long list of those i will never pay to see until someone confirms to me that they have chosen the path of hard work as it concerns stage craft.
How can i pay to go listen to a cd I already have at home?
