For the first time this Ochendo of a Governor is getting it right, slashing Absu fees by a whooping 20% as reported this morning by different online newspapers, enjoy.

The education friendly Governor of Abia state, Chief Theodore Orji, has approved 20 per cent reduction across board in the school fees of students of Abia State University, Uturu.

In a statement signed by Secretary to Abia State Government, Professor Mkpa Agu Mkpa, Governor Orji said the gesture was to boost education in the state.

“Following the present economic crunch in the country occasioned by the oil prices in the international market, as a result of which students of ABSU and their patents are in great difficulty coping with the demands of their school fees in the institution, His Excellency, the Governor of Abia State, Chief T.A. Orji as a demonstration of his sympathy with the plight of the students, their parents and guardians, has magnanimously approved the reduction of school fees payable by all students in Abia State University by 20 per cent across the board.

“This kind gesture of His Excellency seeks to ameliorate the hardship currently being experience by parents and students as a result of the said oil price fluctuations. Government therefore expects the staff, students and management of Abia State University, Uturu, to reciprocate the Governor’s kindness by remaining disciplined and law abiding at all times.”.

often depicted in movies, wealthy people failing to meet up to expectations even among immediate members. in reacting to it, one may feel it is'nt as extreme as it is portrayed, but look around and you will find out it is the obvious reality. why? some people may only attribute that behavior as an act of wickedness but I feel there is more to it than what is observed. they are tightfisted when it comes to offering financial assistance to relatives.....I mean immediate and not distant relatives so to say, but the irony of it is, they see the needs of their friends as priority. they are Very comfortable purchasing alcohol for relatives that is the most they do, to go drink and die. they don't give fish to family members, talk more of teaching them how to fish.....strange.

I can't date someone from Nairaland. Most times, even when I don't need any advice, I just post things to get the view of others, their perspective. And also to clear the guilts I'm harbouring. If I'm dating someone on Nairaland, there will be lot of things I won't be able to post, mostly when it's about him. The idea of dating a Nairalander seems crazy to me. What about you?

Wow! What can I say? I'm really impressed with all the response I've gotten so far. Thank you all for taking time out to drop a comment. I must admit that I've learnt a lot from the constructive criticisms to the words of encouragement to the practical steps suggested by some.
As for mingling in church and meeting guys in the process...Well I've gone through that lane before and to say the truth I've been disappointed by some so-called holy brothers. So I'm afraid to toe that line again...
