Politics / Re: Port-Harcourt-based Firms Dump Wastes In Aba — Ikpeazu by McGeorge1(m): 11:02pm On Jul 13, 2013
donigspain: The quantity of waste generated in Aba on daily basis is quite alarming. I was opportuned to carry out a research with enough data on waste generation in Aba. To be frank, ASEPA is one of the most effective state run Environmental Protection Agency in the country. They are really working hard. If they fail to evacuate waste for just 3 days, every body living in Aba will run away. They need more trucks and receptors as well as good roads because their trucks mostly breakdown enroute designated dumpsites due to bad roads. The neighbouring states (Rivers and Cross River) are fond of sneaking in at night to dump refuse along major highways. Cross River (Calabar) is notorious for smuggling in their Efik and Ibibio mad people into Aba at night. They load them in trucks and dump them at Osisioma junction almost every month.
Rivers and CROSS RIVER are fond of sneaking in at night to dump refuse? You are sick in ur damn head.
Politics / Re: Imoke Donates 23-Months Salary To Church by McGeorge1(m): 1:55pm On Jul 12, 2013
mankand: Why church

Why not use the millions to build a skill acquisition centre to empower the youths instead? There is still going to be fraud as far as the Church is concerned. I guess he is indirectly marketing the Church because what becomes of the church members, what becomes of the other religion

Please we do not fall for such cheap scam.

The BRIDGE FOUNDATION was launched some years back to help youths realise their potentials. I think he's done pretty good in empowering youths.

Politics / Re: 10 Most Developed States In Nigeria: What Do You Think? by McGeorge1(m): 9:04pm On Apr 21, 2013
IGBO-SON:

^^^Exactly! I know i may draw some flack here, but Anambra is more urbanised than developed. When I talk of a developed state, states that are approaching such a status are Abuja, Akwa Ibom and parts of Lagos (mind you, for now we're talking more of the state capital here).

A developed state should have some (or all) of the following: an integrated inter/intracity transportation system consisting of buses, trains, taxis, boats, etc; constant power supply; constant water supply; an adequate and well equipped health service; adequate waste disposal service; adequate security; leisure, entertainment and tourist centres like parks, theatres, museums, 5-star Hotels, Golf clubs, gyms, etc; readily accessible maps of city layouts either in hard or softcopies; an airport or two; a well-appointed and spotless business district; gov't/private enabled mass housing; serene and beautiful upperclass residential areas for high networth individuals/families.

So you see that we still have a long way to go; but if things are done fairly in this country, with everyone allowed the space and resources to develop at their own pace, and with good visionary leadership in place, i see cities like Onitsha, Aba, Enugu, Owerri, Gombe, Portharcourt, Kano and Abeokuta getting close to such a standard in the next 10 years; this is why we should elect a Solu.. the right kind of leaders for our respective states.
not including Cross River State only makes Ʊ look stupid
