LOL you will not believe it if I say to you that I did not read your innitial post before I made my previous post, Neither have I read the article you quoted ![]() |
Haliburton is the only credible winner of the war |
I agree with most of your point except the bit below Without directly reconnecting back to our spiritual and cultural values, I’m not sure if we are ever going to witness the elevation of our nation back to the top any time soonWhat I think we rather need is ethical redifinition that takes into cognisance the complex nature of our country I think a strategy aimed at encouraging a secular society will be suffice. |
More reasons why people should not be assesed on who their father is ![]() ![]() ?Ribadu Vs Aondoakaa (the present cross-roads of Nigerian politics) Ribadu: His father was Nigeria's defence minister in the first republic, in essence he was born with the silver spoon but the man Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has built an unblemished career in the Police rising to his current post as EFCC boss. He is currently putting his life on the line to make sure our tomorrow is better than our today (regardless of any sentiments anyone will have). Aondoakaa on the otherhand was never known, not a lot of people outside Benue State knew such a surname with weired mixture of vowells existed. A fact which accounts to why so many people had difficulties pronouncing his name innitially, Newspapers even had difficulties spelling it. The man Micheal Aondoakaa at the Senate screening spoke about his humble upbringing and how he could hardly afford 3 square meals as an undergraduate student at University of Maidugiri. But today as "Chief Law Officer" (as he loves to refer himself) he has done more protecting the very stucture and system that dehumanised his early life. Not even considering that loads of people are going through what he went through as a kid. So its not about who your father was but who you are and what values you subscribe to. |
I dont think anybody should be demonised because their father is IBB or Abacha What is more important is whether the sons have realised the mistakes of their fathers. |
I think President Bush is running out of ideas on how to revive the American failing economy. Maybe the best thing is to cause foreign frictions, our world against their world, so as to get the support of ordinary Americans. |
I will honestly be shocked if dele momudu held a different view on corruption His business thrives when people are ready to display affluence, whether legitimately earned or not. Since EFCC came on board all those who steal state funds and run to Ovation to display them are more cautious. Probably causing a reduction in Dele Momudu's customers. Dele Momudu is simply protecting his corrupt clients. |
I can not help but think the President needs that advice more than the rest of us. If not for anything his actions are inconsistent with his words and that smacks of dishonesty. |
ifyalways:we wont know the answer to that question without pictures LOL |
ono:LOL I know that while you were making that demand you obviously know that I can't produce one If you were and editor or Nigerian Politician will you reference Nairaland or any other discussion forum for that matter? You are such a funny guy |
I wish them luck |
But out of curiousity Why has Ibori refused to approach another court in London to give him immunity from investigation and prosecution by London Met police. Why is he rather defending his case where he is charged by the London Met. Does it mean the UK Government has no respect for "rule of law" |

It is Micheal Aondoakaa's new joker. The President's order on him reads Furthermore, the President has directed the Attorney-General of the Federation to give the fullest possible cooperation to the officers of the Metropolitan Police in their quest for evidence of offences allegedly committed by IboriAt this stage it becomes impossible for Micheal Aondoakaa to gather any facts for London Met, meanwhile remember that London Met can not go to Delta State to gather facts without through the office of the AGF. The AGF is using State might to fight the State. |
Afam take it easy with the tribal comments, the original poster of this thread opened the door for such comments in the first place.Absolutely spot on, the originator of the thread got it all wrong by his title. The success of this car is better guaranteed if it is seen as a Nigerian car than an Ibo car reason: No matter how great a product is, it can only survive if there is a market for it. And I personally believe this product will be more successful if its initial market pool is drawn from the 140million Nigerians than from the 20million Igbos |
I am not suprised as I have seen so many times how views expressed on Nairaland end up in the dailies the next day. Nigeria is undergoing a virtual revolution, when views are expressed on Nairaland they end up the popular views in the media and somehow by that we have been able to get the Government to change some of its policies. This process is more civilised and less destructive compared to the traditional street protest. It also Gives Nigerians worldwide to partake in Nation building. For those of us who might end up in politics someday, it offers us a platform for virtual political tutelage. I think more Nigerian politicians should come to Nairaland and learn world class politics |
EEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even President Yaradua does not have immunity from investigation. The Constitution only grants the President immunity from Prosecution not investigation but the Delta State High Court has granted Ibori Imunity from investigation. So that what this simply means is that, if London Met Police comes to Nigeria they can not even go to Delta to hear from the source. The debt profile of the state can not be compared with the infrastructure on ground. So in essence the Journey by London Met Police to Nigeria might be an excersize in futility afterall. I always new Micheal Aondoakaa will come up with something new. Is there a way out of these, can the Chief Justice of Nigeria order accelerated hearing ?? Can someone suspend the so called Justice Okeke and transfer the case for accelerated decision ?? Can the AGF be relieved of his duty so that he does not continue using state might to fight the state![]() ![]() Or is President Yaradua's new reassurance that he is commited to the fight againts corruption a hoax afterall ? Only time will tellIf drastic measures are not taken to save us this embarrasment we will simply say goodbye to President Yaradua's Nigeria. |
I will commend Thisday for just one thing, inspite of Nduka Obaigbena's close relation with the Presidency he will rather choose his words than report outright lies in issues against the interest of the Presidency. But one thing is certain they will rather avoid outright criticism of unfair Government activities and can not be said to be 100% unbiased. |
Kobojunkie:It is easier to manage maintenance of Newly produced cars if the factories and assembly plants are in your home country than maintaining a completely imported car (whether new or old) if the spares are abroad. |
. it is in order: Igbo Made Jeep.Good point |
I-Man All am saying is standard agencies should encourage these companies to attain world class standards by continuos improvement programmes but not to shut the plant outrightly like we have done in the past because it falls short of world class standard. That being said Minimum Safety Standards should not be compromised like you said as that will simply amount to manufacturing death traps. |
You might be suprised to see someone from standards organisation of Nigeria coming forward to close this plant because it does not conform to ISO. All hands must be on deck to make projects like this succeed, people and government should encourage improvement rather than demonise this company. |
naijaway:Seconded |
I honestly thought of that but their are obviously too many to mention But the fact of the matter is that only consistent readers of various Nigerian newspapers over time can have an argument on this and any attempt to provide instances might only be a weak attempt at referencing what people already know. However those that have not spot the difference should begin to watch out for the selfless support for War against corruption by the PUNCH compared to other papers like the SUN. |
The PUNCH has been one newspaper on the side of Nigerians and the future of this country in the fight against corruption. Well that is my view, dissident views welcomed. |
I think Ahmadu Ali should be sent to Burma, he will have a good working relationship with the Burmese Government. The man can not depart from his Garrison nature. |
The battle is not over though!!!!!!!! The EFCC must ensure that whatever evidence they provide is the same that will find its way to London Met Police, this AGF is capable of editing or replacing dossiers. Their must be a control check |
The AGF is not in tune with latest advances in technology and how Nigerians have embrased ICT as the world turns a global village. He thinks we are still in the age when a public servant does anything they like merely because he has the support of the President. Spins anything they like in the Nigerian media hoping nobody will know the truth. Virtually every Nigerian who wants to has a copy of his letter to Ibori's counsel in their computer, and posterity will judge him on the path he is towing. We are watching |
Big B1:LOL , 110% (110% in modular mathematics equates to 10% disagreement which means we agree 90% of the time) ****** Jokes Every society has those who subscribe to right-wing and left-wing values, but all believe in success of the society. Their is strenght in diversity. If we agree most times on Nairaland I think we would have been bored out of this place. But the fact remains that when it comes to foreign policies most reasonable and organised societies will always agree. A fact which explains consistency in US foreign policy whether democtats or republicans; or consistency in UK foreign policy whether Conservative or Labour. Biggie Gues I get emotional at times but you still remain one of my best pals on Nairaland. One Love |
And BBC speaks, Nigeria official's $35m refrozenGosh someone should Obtain the so called letter Aondoakaa claims the British wrote him which exonerated him from complicity. This AGF is shameless, he is still telling lies, I promise him very soon the details of that letter will be available on the World Wide Web. |
Without any protest from the public Micheal Aondoakaa is capable of replacing or editing any evidence provided for the appeal. As the evidence will still need to go through his office. And talking about being right, what about that statement in the letter [quote]"Underlining the importance of obtaining the evidence, he informed the AGF that non-obtaining may lead to abandoning our 'appeal against discharge of the restraint order.'"

|
JustGood:Honestly when I read such comments you can only wonder if they were granted American Passport last week. I honestly don't understand why fat bank accounts can become substitute to VISA application form. When Bill Gates went or goes back to fill out his application, he was or will obviously be granted VISA. |
