Big B1:Obviously because he is proving impossible to oust. |
As a fan of OBJ, I find this comment very shameful |
How wrong are those comments ![]() ![]() ![]() There is obviously pure politics involved and the west will prefer Africa never growed but ![]() ![]() How wrong are they ![]() , Even the biologist who made the comment about black people, How wrong was he ??We are simply giving them a tool to attack us. We have to put our country right and know that the world is more serious than we take it. Besides that, the fact that Gen Gowon even led the delegation reminds the delegates that our country was yet to break free from Kleptomaniacs. On what grounds was he made leader of that delegation, what is his countribution to humanity or his role in the sorry state called Nigeria. |
People have to realise that the whole IBB project is a source of livelihood to some people, and the longer the euphoria and fantasy of IBB Presidency remains the longer their jobs will remain. It is so shameful how a popular outcry by vexed Nigerians in the face of kleptocracy which forced Etteh to resign could be reduced to politics of OBJ vs IBB. If this so called IBB unslaught is that supreme, David Mark would have been history. People just cash into popular outcry and start making noise about political clout. |
On a more serious note, back to the topic EFCC should pre-occupy itself with Governors who launder state money without doing anything to better the lives of Nigerians. They should try as much as they can to ignore what goes on the business world especially these oil giants. there is nothing straightforward in the business world. What Nigeria should try to do more often is to ensure that the deals we strike with foreign multinationals are in the interest of Nigeria. I think the EFCC should tread carefully in the WILBROSS case no matter who it involves whether Atiku or Whoever. The line of demarcation between marketing consultancy fee and bribery in the world of business is very thin. Though not too sure of details of the scandal |
Been there before and know what it feels like dated an older lady before, its kind of fun but it is what it is fun, frolics and fantasy Such relationships dont stand the test of time and obviously will have dificulties facing the challenge of marriage. |
Big B1:That sums up your wish and love for Nigeria If your last laugh is the collapse of Anti-corruption war then its very unfortunate |
Just like which rest ![]() ?Show me any newspaper links showing declaration of assets by the following people and tell me why Ribadu is your priority ![]() ![]() 1. Inspector general of police 2. Chief of Defence Staff 3. Chief of Army staff 4. Chief of Naval Staff 5. Head of customs 6. National security adviser 7. Head of NDLEA 8. or Other DIGs and AIGs Do you know what it means telling a security operative to declare their assets ![]() ![]() BigB1 do not allow your hatred for Ribadu introducing ethusiasm and radicalism in his service to this nation becloud your reasoning. |
BigB1 Acusing Ribadu of embezzlement is the lowest point on your fruitless attempt to blackmail him. Dont give up just carry on, this is the beauty of the internet. Ability to make spurious and irrational claims without incuring the wrath of vexed Nigerians. |
Let ICPC investigate Andy Uba That he has not been prosecuted by EFCC is not enough grounds to undermine the organisation. BigB1 If you are undertaking a mission which the combination of Micheal Aondoakaa and Olisa Agbakoba failed to deliver, I can only wish you goodluck with you ambition. FYI: The court in Benin has thrown out Ibori's case and reverted themselves in terms of the exparte order they granted. That is how massive the Anti-Corruption wind is? |
Why should our system haunt 40yr olds and over with a mistake they made probably 20years ago. Why should an idea passed into a decree without proper referendum by a group of generals terminate people's ambition to serve their fatherland in modern and democratic Nigeria that law is outdated (I served and thought Mathematics for full 1 year but I also think it is outdated and should not be compulsory) |
This particular law is outdated and is not in tune with practical realities on ground. |
BigB1 In your most recent posts you have attempted to ochestrate a personality clash between McKren and Iyke-D, this is absolutely unnecessary. We are not having a referendum on personality here neither are we trying to swear or lobby for political allegiance, we are simply discussing the future of our country and those who most times post arguments based on convictions for what is right for our country should have no appologies if they happen to say similar things most of the time. And yes Mckren and Iyke-D might belong to the same "school of thought" but they are not more freinds than Iyke/BigB1 or BigB1/Mckren. And when you say you have the right to support IBB, I agree with you. You have the right to support anybody that pleases you and that is what democracy should be about. Sometimes we do get emotional but if you look at the sorry state of our infrastructures a fair mind will appreciate why we should not appologise for our sentiments. These days I have made a resolve to talk less about IBB, he yielding to popular pressure and stepping aside in the run up to 2007 elections is enough for me. Asking him not to speak or partake in politics of Nigeria in any guise will be asking for too much, because love him or hate him he has attained a height in which he can not be neglected in Nigerian politics. However it will be contemptous for anyone to say he should be celebrated. |
I for one has always been a fan of making the NYSC a matter of choice, reason being for those who have a clear vission of where they are heading to after graduation it is a waste of 1yr. But for those who are unsure, it provides a platform for gradual and paid transition from student to labour market. If its the talk about unifying Nigeria, that to me is gibberish and the purpose has been defeated. There is no way someone will at age over 21 begin to unlearn how to hate their compatriots if they have chosen to do so. Besides that only a section of the population go to University and by extension NYSC, hence what it means is that those who have'nt gone to University will never have an opportunity to learn how to "love" their compatriots. Targeting kids in Primary schools and teaching them how to "think Nigeria" will do a better job and affect a wider cross-section of the population than the NYSC scheme. On Dimeji Bankole Before Babasin gets excited Some of the salient points you have to look at include: 1. You can not ask Dimeji Bankole to resign his position as speaker because of NYSC, the only criteria for being speaker is being a member of House of Reps which Dimeji Bankole is. However you can ask him to resign as an MP based on lack of NYSC which if he does he will by extension loose his speakership. Hence if the issue is removing Dimeji Bankole as an MP based of NYSC, it is the prerogative of INEC (not House members) to do that through the courts. INEC will also have to explain to Nigerians why such a man passed screening in the first place. Besides that Dimeji Bankole will not be singled out, INEC in doing that will have to review the credentials of all public officers and punish all those found wanting not just Dimeji (whether it is age, Nationality or asset declaration). So the issue is not that straightforward, Dimeji Bankole can not resign as Speaker because he has not served Nigeria and remain in House of Representative. |
Big B1:I am not suprised that you think Iyke-D = Mckren Sometimes I read Iyke's posts and I wonder if am the one typing ![]() ?But if you follow Iyke's post very well you do not need a rocket scientist to know the man bearing that name is from Delta State Nigeria, while I am of Imo State Nigeria. Note: I am just setting the records straight, as I dont mind being confused for Iyke-D |
Looks like you did not understand my question let alone answering it, question 1 was hoping that you will tell us why boosting ICPC to do more while maintaining the EFCC is not an option ![]() ![]() BigB1 I have tried as much as I can to say words that you wont find offensive these days, I simply have no clue why you are celebrating the ICPC that has nothing to show in the WAC while vilifying the EFCC. Political or not, those EFCC probed has questions of corruption to answer. Except you are telling me that EFCC should not probe anybody who is a reknowned politician. Look, one of the tennets of democracy is freedom of speech. This freedom of speech includes the right to tell people what they don't want to hear. You have every right to say exactly what you dislike about the EFCC, even it is they standing between you and your business interests. Then it is up to Nigerians to figure out whether they will rather support your "business" or "vilify EFCC for ilegitimately obstructing your business". Most Nigerians are educated, even an 18yr old undergraduate will easily figure out the defects in most of your arguments, that you think you can promote such a view of the world in 21st century Nigeria is contemptous to say the least. |
Can you please explain to Nigerians: 1. why we can not boost ICPC to do whatever it is you think EFCC are not doing ?2. Why must it be outright scrap of the EFCC ?3. Is continuity a crime ![]() ![]() |
kooldamsel:What do u mean This is digital toasting and him get chance to meet people from arround the globe unlike the traditional method of throwing stones on the window of the girl u love ![]() |
Big B1:LOL ![]() Make u no gree make Ribadu matter make u go hay wire, what was that all about ![]() ![]() ![]() BigB1 how was your weekend, hope u had a good one |
meant the true sense of the word "popular" You might like to check your dictionary for what it means "Popular" does not mean "prominent" |
Robert Mugabe wears suits as well While I like the fact that at least he looks smarter than ever on this ocassion, it amounts to nothing what he wears whether suit or agbada. No be suit or agbada Nigerians go chop, he should be more serious than that. |
When they vilify the EFCC/Ribadu, Nigerians find more reasons to give them support. It is on record that after the onslaught by the AGF on Ribadu, more than 65% of Nigerians in most opinion polls called for the sack of Micheal Aondoakaa. Those engaging in campaign of calumny against Ribadu will die doing that and yet Ribadu's reputation will still be soaring. Whether they like it or not Ribadu will remain popular in the heart of sincere Nigerians. |
Some comments are not worth replying to Goodbye guys, not sure why no one wants to say "fight against corruption will start when Yakubu Gowon has been probed" or Lord Lugard even. |
Why do you think EFCC as an organization continues to struggle day after day?The answer is simple, they are currently struggling because they have been made to report to a man who has a history of defending corruption and who even instituted a court case for the agency to be scrapped. Do you think NAFDAC will function any better if the agency is made to report to those who attacked Akunyili's life by may be appointing the man who plotted the death of Akunyili as Health Minister ![]() ? |
BigB1 What organisations or agencies in Nigeria did you benchmark the EFCC against ![]() Is it not suspect to attempt to reform one of the two agencies actually working in Nigeria when their are loads of Government agencies and institutions performing abyssmally and begging for reforms ?? |
I withdraw all my statements What I should have done is to allow Etteh's supporters to lick their wounds |
doncaster:And who do you support the innocent people who use N628million to renovate a building that does not require renovation even when it is not her prerogative to take on such task? |
Big B1:President Yaradua will not take that risk. We know all about their dodgy and clandestine motives against Ribadu/EFCC including the plot to introduce a parallel pseudo-Anti-corruption agency so as to render EFCC obsolete. But the truth is, Anti-Corruption has grown bigger than Ribadu or EFCC. It is more of an ideology right now in the politics of Nigeria and is proving to be the greatest political division in the history of Nigeria. (greater than the previous Ethnic and political devides) Those for and those against the battle to genuinely win the Anti-corruption war. we are not unmindful of the fact that the Presidency is not on the side of Nigerians in this current war and a message has been sent to President Yaradua through Oshiomole Adams yesterday. he said "There is no in-between, you are either for or against" If the Presidency scraps the EFCC, the commission will simply transform from a Government Agency to an NGO. Thank God the commission can boast of international funding. The movement that will metamorphose from that will sweep off whatever Micheal Aondoakaa and Yaradua wish to conjure against Nigerians. People are simply not guaging the mood of Nigerians Meanwhile not sure where the title Prof came from? |
Big B1:I do agree with you that Nothing will happen to Ibori. On the level of desperation we have seen from the Presidency and Delta State Government. If Ibori's fund are finally repratriated from London our " But what they can not revert is that the London ruling will make Ibori an International Criminal so the war against corruption is still worthwhile. |
I dont expect it to make sense to you |
Big B1:Whats up my man Been a while |
Almondjoy The only way I can find a reason for your argument is if one of these Governors is your relative. I guess police should not also checkmate a local street robber if the likes of Shina Rambo have not been caught ![]() ![]() |
