God cannot be mocked. Whoever sows violence will reap violence. Therefore, my prayer points are as follows:

1) May all those who plot the death of innocent Nigerians meet a violent and horrible death themselves.

2) May the guns they import be used to killed them and their family members.

3) May an evil nemesis catch up with all those who sponsor Boko Haram and those who exploit the activities of Boko Haram for political reasons.

4) As for those in northern Nigeria and elsewhere who are planning to use the election results as a pretext for killing innocent youth corps members as they did in 2011, may premature death be an eternal curse that haunts their families for ever and ever.

AMEN.

Politics / Re: Is General Muhammed Buhari Really Competent For The President Of Nigeria. by McLuhan(m): 7:53pm On Feb 14, 2015
During his military rule, Buhari was the very face of draconian dictatorship. He clamped down hard on press freedom and killed people on the basis of retroactive decrees. If he was only wicked it would have been a pardonable failing. But he was also guilty of partiality or worse, of tribalism. After overthrowing the supposedly corrupt Shagari government, he placed his kinsman, President Shagari, under house arrest in a palatial guest house in Ikoyi, but threw the Vice President, Alex Ekweme, an Igbo man, into a maximum security prison. And this, when everybody knew that Ekweme had almost no power or influence in the Shagari regime. Since I am not one of those folks who suffer from voluntary amnesia, I cannot forget that Buhari served as head of the Petroleum Trust Fund under the universally despised and irredeemably corrupt government of the late Sani Abacha. I am referring to the same Abacha whose loot has been returned to Nigeria by many countries, including the US and Switzerland. And yet Buhari declared that this same Abacha did not steal a penny from Nigeria! Today, Buhari is flying in a private jet supplied by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is by any reckoning one of the most corrupt and morally bankrupt politicians Nigeria has ever produced. And yet Buhari prides himself in being an anti-corruption crusader. Nor can I forget that Buhari has vowed to continue the agitation for the total implementation of sharia in Nigeria, a country which is by constitution a secular entity. Those who wish to vote for Buhari can do so. As for me I won't, because I know his antecedents.

Why am I not interested in Lai's lamentations? Could it be because of this man's history of telling half-truths and beautiful lies? Could it be because this man failed to condemn Buhari for his infamous "monkey-and-baboon" speech? Could it be because this arch-critic of government has failed to criticise Boko Haram for its atrocities? Whatever is the case, I am not impressed.

GenBuhari:
Nigerians please wake up to what is happening. France and its puppet regimes in Chad and Cameroun are currently carpet bombing parts of Northern Nigeria under the pretext of fighting Boko Haram (who was created and are being sponsored by imperialist America and Europeans). It is very probable that the same so called Boko Haram and Chadian troops are one and the same.

The predicted break up Nigeria has started at this time to ensure that it happens before we could elect a competent govt headed by Buhari.

The towns currently occupied by Chadian troops may as well be considered annexed by them. (and France by extrapolation ).

May our ancestors protect Nigeria and it people.

Please get ready to fight for your nation and your future.

Stale allegations and peurile insinuations from the warped mind of a devious and senile serpent. Who is more wicked than Obasanjo? Who tried to foist an unconstitutional third term on Nigerians? Who said election is a "do-or-die" affair? During whose tenure was Bola Ige, a serving Attorney-General, murdered? Who killed Marshall Harry? Who committed the genocidal act of sending soldiers to exterminate the people of Odi and sack their community? During whose tenure was the infamous Haliburton fraud perpetrated? Who entered office as a pauper and left the Presidency as one the three richest politicians in Africa? Who spent more than 16 billion dollars on electricity projects and left us with fewer megawatts than we had before the projects began? Which President sold major government assets such as the Tanscorp Hilton to himself and to his cronies? Who committed the hypocritical act of launching a personal library while still in office, thus blackmailing government contractors and favour-seekers into pumping billions into that morally bankrupt project? Who destroyed public universities through underfunding and bad policies and used gpvernment funds to establish his own private university? Under whose watch did Nigeria reach its worst rankings in the corruption indices of Transparency International? Which President presided over the abduction of a sitting Governor, (in the person of Chris Ngige), the President dismissing it as a "family affair"? Need I go on?

Culture / Re: Top 10 Most Spoken Nigerian Languages by McLuhan(m): 10:02pm On Feb 11, 2015
Is this some kind of ethnic posturing or what? Who conducted this research? I hate it when people try to score cheap political points by bandying statistics and supremacist rhetoric. If Hausa is the most widely spoken native language in Nigeria, what am I expected to do? Abandon my mother tongue and learn Hausa? Or can we compare Hausa and Yoruba to English in terms of linguistic development, universal acceptability, versatility and sheer utility? Those who blow the trumpet of these so-called majority langauages should know that in the global setting these Nigerian languages are practically inconsequential. Whether Fulfulde or Annang or Igbo or whatever, they are all peripheral to English, French, Spanish, etc.

Goodluck has my vote, not because he visited Lazarus Mouka or any other religious leader for that matter. I'll vote for him simply because the alternative is an extremely rigid, highly bigotted, sharia-promoting, violence-advocating, freedom-hating, chronically paranoid, educationally handicapped former military despot. I will only vote for Buhari if he brings back to life those youth corps members who were killed in 2011 after he called for the blood of "monkeys and baboons" to be spilt. I will vote for Buhari when he resurrects the young men whom he executed during his military rule on the basis of a retroactive decree. I will vote for Buhari after he personally begs for and obtains forgiveness from every Christian following his infamous vow to continue the agitation for the full implementation of sharia in Nigeria. Otherwise I can never and will NEVER vote for Buhari.

Thank you, my dear. Let him and his family lead the protest. These thieves obviously think Nigerians are fools. After looting everything they could lay hands on, they have now remembered the masses because they need people to help them perpetuate themselves in power and secure their loot. Whoever thinks Amaechi is doing all these for the sake of democracy -- such a person needs to have their head examined.

I laugh. Is this supposed to be a joke or what? Which state governor in the history of Nigeria has been more corrupt than Amaechi? Who has acquired more wealth by looting the Lagos State treasury and by cronyism than Tinubu? Who, other than Atiku, used government funds to build the most expensive private university in Africa? Who engaged in a selective anti-corruption campaign when he was military head of state? Was it not Buhari? Corruption will disappear indeed!

I have read all u posted and it Is a fact that GEJ is not a charismatic leader. It is a quality that many don't have including myself. But irrespective of what I post here. Pls don't insult me cos that is d hallmark of being a GMBites and every GMBite I know does that. GMB is the same yesterday, today and forever. I have listened to him speak on several occasions and each time he has failed to impress me. He is an elder statesman but permit me to say this, a JSS3 pupil is more intelligent than our reverred game changer. He said he is gonna fix crude oil prices. He said a government could ban the press if they embarassed a public official. And just yesterday while addressing the organised private sector in lagos. He said Nigeria imports rice and tomato. Point of correction, Nigeria doesn't import tomato but tomato paste and dangote has established a plant in the north that will be processing our tomato into tomato paste. Nigeria is self-sufficient in the production. He further said his govt will ban the import of rice and tomato. How is that a correct approach? Your country is not self-sufficient in rice production and u don't bring up a blueprint that will accelerate rice production but u wanna go straight and ban it outrightly.when he bans it, what are we going to be eating? That shows his poor grasp of how to make the economy work. This is y we need him to debate on live televison. So we can hear more of these embarassing statements from our supposed beacon of hope. GEJ is not the best but GEJ till we have a better alternative
May your intellect keep expanding. May things work well for you all the days of your life. Thank you for this reply.

Thank you for your honest and polite inquiry. Hundreds of miles of NEW highway have been laid by the Jonathan administration, notably the Shagamu to Benin artery, which now takes 2 hours to travel instead of 8 to 12 hours. That highway is THE most heavily used road in the nation, and by refurbishing it so beautifully, thousands of lives will be protected for decades to come.

You asked for one reason to vote for Jonathan, but you will get three reasons out of MANY. The second notable accomplishment of the Jonathan government is the brand new railway network crisscrossing the nation, where NO rail network existed in the past. This huge project will boost Nigeria's economy in ways too many to mention.

Finally, there can be NO place in any modern society for an illiterate, mass murdering terror gang leader such as Boko Hari, and as such his defeat WILL be assured by the MAJORITY who are fully aware of just what a blood-thirsty demon that senile old chimpanzee has been for decades, and how much worse of a human disaster he has become today. Were the opposition party to have fielded a credible, highly accomplished and learned candidate like current Lagos State Governor Raji Fashola, the outcome of the election would have been EXTREMELY close, and, were I in the position to vote, I would have selected Fashola over Johathan any day.

By fielding a brain-dead genocide instigator, the opposition party have done themselves an ENORMOUS disservice that will most assuredly cost them the election, and you can take that to the bank sir.
Again, your grammar and logic are spot on, although the language you used to describe Buhari is rather caustic. However, in this day and age, I don't need anyone to tell me who I should vote for between a university-trained academic and a barely literate if well-intentioned former military dictator. Without any apologies, I go for the former.

It is good to note that you are happy nursing the delusions that bring you comfort, even as the Nigerian people prepare to send the Weeping General Bokko Hari back to election losers' court of futile appeal, for the 23rd time in a row.

Your astute observation that the Weeping General sounds "pained" is noteworthy, since yet more of that pain and anguish is packaged and ready for delivery on February 14th 2015, whereupon the usual entertaining performance of wailing and sobbing will be expected from Boko Hari, when the electorate votes unanimously to reject the mass-murdering geriatric old fart on whom you have pinned such a dead weight of unattainable hopes and expectations.

Thank you ever so much, sir, for sharing these fascinating details of your hallucinatory episodes, and please do feel free to keep us abreast of any other unattainable ambitions that you might continue to nurse, even as reality dawns and your terror gang leader is shown the door to the septic tank of history, by Nigeria's very enlightened electorate.
I couldn't help but laugh. The grammar is almost flawless, the humour absolutely hilarious. As for the logic, well, that's another thing entirely.
Politics / Re: Patience Jonathan Denies Receiving N3bn From NDDC by McLuhan(m): 4:29pm On Feb 02, 2015
I have no doubt that there is a lot of corruption in Nigerian politics, but there are certain things that just don't add up in this story. First, how much is the total budget of NDDC that the agency would be able to sacrifice the princely sum of 3 billion naira for the purpose of "facilitating" the passage of a budget? Second, the said report by Saharareporters doesn't seem to quote any identified source(s) in the NDDC or in the National Assembly to authenticate or corroborate these allegations. Third, if NDDC paid 3 billion naira to Mrs Jonathan alone, how much did they pay to the other agencies (such as the accountant- general's office, the ministry of finance, the secretary to the federation, and the due process office) who would be expected to be involved in the release of the money? Perhaps Saharareporters knows something that we don't know, but I am mindful of that organisation's long record of reportorial gaffes. I hope this is not another one of them.
