Sports / Re: NFA Electoral Appeals Committee Upholds Pinnick’s Election. by McLuhan(m): 8:46pm On Dec 04, 2014
This latest attempt to overturn Pinnick's election is obviously the handiwork of the selfish and greedy cabal spearheaded by Chris Giwa and his fellow desperadoes. They are not satisfied even after FIFA has ruled that Pinnick is the legitimate President of the NFF and even after their coup attempt failed in the court of law. They are the same idiots using their connections in high places to foist Stephen Keshi on the NFF. As usual, they will fail again.

Yes, he is. He said his father is cleric. The thing is, i have been reading his interviews on different websites. He has a very limited knowledge of islam.

He once said islam forbids marrying more than one wife. His wife may be good but he has extreme little approach to islam. This thread doesnt proof anything. He had been to church with his wife several times and being suspected of converting to Christianity. He always denied conversion. As a matter of fact, the last interview I read last week, i knew he was going to a big upcoming event in church. He said it in the interview.

Although i wont be surprised if he embraces Christianity. Thats not difficult to deduce. May Allah correct his understanding of the deen

May God continue to bless the Holy Father and grant him the serenity of mind to tend the flock that God has entrusted to his care. In a world of bigotry where religious and political leaders gloat over the misfortunes that befall their opponents and people of other religious persuasions, it is refreshing to find a leader who is animated by our shared humanity. Although I am not a Catholic, I am am ardent admirer of Pope Francis and I hope other leaders will learn a lesson from his humility and his efforts at establishing and sustaining inter-faith dialogue. True religion does not consist in calling for the killing of "infidels", the chopping off of thieves' hands, and the public flogging or stoning of supposed sinners. True religion is love, mercy, forgiveness and mutual coexistence.

Real delusion, my dear. May God forgive the presumptuous and sickly mind that conceived those premeditated, biased, and blasphemous imbecilities. To suggest that St Paul is actually an antichrist is to commit a great heresy. No other person in history, apart from Christ himself, has done more to propagate the undiluted gospel of our blessed Redeemer. Furthermore, there are no fundamental contradictions in the Bible, just our own jaundiced views of biblical truth. However, if one sets one's mind to find contradictions, one can find imaginary contradictions in almost any document, including in the Bible.

There is no place to unite. Muslim world is on fire hence the killing and maiming will not stop tomorrow. Its not all about politics, there is religious ideology
Don't mind them. They are pretending that they have not heard how Islamic terrorists are killing people all over the world. About a week ago, Al-Shabab militants ambushed a bus in Kenya, separated all the Muslims and allowed them to go, and then slaughtered all the Christians and any other passengers who could not recite Quranic verses. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. I don't know why Nigerians like to play the ostrich. We hide our heads in the sand and hope that our problems will go away. Many are here blaming Goodluck Jonathan for inventing Boko Haram, forgetting that Boko Haram is a product of Islam, which is by nature a religion of bloodshed. More people are killed in the name of Islam than are killed in the name of all the other religions combined. Granted, Jonathan should have done more to check the menace of this group, but trying to cure these people of their fanaticism is like bathing a pig. It will return to the mire to resume its wallowing. Has the world been able to eradicate Al-Qaeda or the Taliban or ISIS? These folks will kill people till the end of the world! It's called jihad.

DinhoMVP:
Keshi u destroyed our football with your personal interest always inviting mediocre players when better stars are left out...u claim to be unearthing talents so where are the Uchebos and Ameobis u took to the world cup instead of Joel Obi and Haruna or Ike Uche or even Sunday Mba...look at egwueke u can never compare him to udoji of enyimba...ugwu uwadiegwu is better than all ur left backs...emem eduok was on the bench against SA someone that is scoring for fun at the moment yet u left emenike on for the entire duration someone that hasn't scored in 13games as a striker!! Keshi please leave Nigerian football alone Super Eagles Shirt is not for the Highest Bidder...even without a coaching license I will qualify the eagles for AFCON I'm sure u don't even watch these boys in their clubs....even in america where u stay martins is on fire yet u shut him out...ur ego is too much keshi dat is y u clash with your players everywhere u go...please u have done enough damage just go....SA was a man down yet u couldn't capitalise Ghana at Chan was a man down yet u didn't win Keita was sent off against Greece in SA 2010 and immediately Otto Rahaghel brought in Samaras and the game was over...keshi please go You are Tactless!!!
Keshi, you are shamelessness personified. You gleefully took Siasia's job after the latter's sack. Now you are seeing visions about how Nigeria's football problems go beyond coaching. May thunder scatter your mouth! Just imagine the nonsense. After mortgaging the hopes and desires of many Nigerians through your biased team selections and your tactical incompetence, you are now talking rubbish. When you were asked to invite Obafemi Martins, you claimed he was too old. Iheanacho on the other hand is too young as far as you are concerned. You kept Emenike on the pitch for the duration of the match even though the man has not score in ages. You chose instead to leave a prolific striker like Eduok on the bench. Keshi, you will reap the evil you have sown. But just go to any of those countries you boasted about. They are waiting for you. Fool!

Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Performance Below Average – Obasanjo by McLuhan(m): 10:07am On Nov 22, 2014
focus7:
Baba has spoken. He knows he laid a solid foundation for good governance for his successors to build on. With that in mind, to him what Jonathan and his followers are parading as performance is a disappointment, because to whom much is given much is expected.
Who built a solid foundation? Which foundation are you talking about? Are you referring to the same Obasanjo who spent more than $16 billion on power generation, leaving us with less electricity than we had before the project purportedly began? Or are you talking about the Obasanjo who sent soldiers to sack Odi and massacre its inhabitants? Is this not the Obasanjo who fought desperately to secure an unconstitutional third term for himself? Need I recount Obasanjo's atrocities? The point I'm making is that Obasanjo has no right to pontificate or sermonise about good governance. Read my lips: Obasanjo is probably the most decadent and morally reprobate leader Nigeria has ever produced.

However, that is not to justify or mitigate Jonathan's shortcomings in any way. Even by African standards Jonathan's achievements are rather puny and he could certainly have done better. Indeed we should hold him and all our leaders to account and insist by all means that they perform better.

However, what irks me is the hypocrisy, the hubristic insolence demonstrated by morally bankrupt and expired leaders like Obasanjo who presume to lecture us on good governance. Even if we have forgiven, do they think we have forgotten? Do the Obasanjos, Atikus and Tinubus of this world think we are fools?

Unfortunately, we live in a country where politicians make political capital from any misfortune that befalls the poor masses. They celebrate every bomb blast, they revel in any bad news, they go into rhapsodies on hearing any evil report. To them, every soul that perishes in a Boko Haram attack is another nail in Jonathan's political coffin. Therefore, the more souls that die the better. It is an extremely cynical and utterly wicked mentality. But I only pity such people, because what you wish other people has a way of coming back to you.

Is this a question or what? Do you need a soothsayer to tell you that Keshi is tactically and technically inept? Ask yourself, what gameplan did Keshi bring to this match? Didn't you see how the S'Africans relied on fast breaks and defended in numbers? Apart from the poor passing exhibited by our players, their uncoordinated defending and their foolish desire to always score through the middle, what discernible pattern did you see in the Eagles' game today? I don't have any doubts about Keshi's mediocrity. I only have doubts about one thing: Between Keshi and the people who brought him back, I dont know who is sillier.

Car Talk / Re: FG Has No Intention To Ban Commercial Motorcycles by McLuhan(m): 7:07pm On Oct 31, 2014
In my opinion, commercial motorcycling is a symptom of the high level of poverty in Nigeria. Commercial motorcycles, or okadas as they are popularly called, first appeared in the late 1980s during an economic downturn in Nigeria. Jobless youths transported passengers on narrow or poorly maintained roads to faraway cities and villages. Today, unfortunately, the rise in okada usage has been accompanied by increased occurences of risky riding and road accidents. Furthermore, the proliferation of commercial motorcycles often comes with its attendant aesthetic and environmental challenges to city life. Consequently, I don't think commercial motorcycling is sustainable in the long run. For that reason, every responsible government must design proactive mass transit programmes, as well as job creation shemes, for its people.

Instead of saying they want to save their pockets, they say they want to "save the game". Which game are they saving? Do these people think we are fools? As for the judge who made this ruling, I think he must be a clown. Anyway, his ruling is an exercise in futility, a meaningless frolic. Giwa and his gang of jobbers should know that FIFA will never recognise their so-called board. Football's world governing body has already given the Pinnick-led board its full backing and has recognised the elections that produced it. As everyone knows, FIFA's statutes forbid all forms of civil litigation in football matters. The most likely outcome of this crisis is that FIFA will ban Nigeria from all international football engagements, meaning that even if we qualify we will not play in the next AFCON tournament or indeed any other competition organised by CAF or FIFA. That's the benefit of having shameless greedy men like Giwa and co.

Is it your anonymity that makes you use this type of language? May God forgive you.

As for the debate about the greatness or otherwise of Jay Jay Okocha, there is really no need to argue with each other. If not for the fact that Okocha never played for any of the 'big' clubs, there would have been no controversy about his place among the greatest footballers of all time. But because he didn't play for Madrid or Manchester United, people take the liberty of belittling his talents. Well, such people are entitled to their opinion. But I hope they will also allow me to hold my own opinion, which is that Augustine Azuka Okocha is probably the most prodigiously gifted footballer of all time.

Instead of comparing him with any other player, I would rather thank God for having given Nigeria such a talented player and for having given me the opportunity to witness the amazing skills that Okocha so effortlessly displayed.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Vs Hull City (2 - 2) On 18th October 2014 by McLuhan(m): 2:43pm On Oct 18, 2014
As an Arsenal supporter, what I find most annoying about the club is Coach Wenger's thriftiness. The man is just too stingy. How can you hope to compete with the Chelseas and Man Citys of this world if you don't spend massively. I know Wenger will claim that he spends wisely. But what is the wisdom in having only five defenders on your squad when you know that injury can take out several of them at the same time? What is the wisdom in allowing your competitors (Chelsea) to snap up one of your most talented former players when you have the right of first refusal in any deal involving him? Why then cry over spilled milk when you see Fabregas combine to deadly effect with Diego Costa? For God's sake, why can't Arsenal manage just one marquee signing in the form of a defender or striker? I find these things so puzzling and exasperating.

Politics / Re: The Federal Government Of Nigeria Says It Has Reached A Ceasefire Deal With BH by McLuhan(m): 4:07pm On Oct 17, 2014
If indeed the FG has reached a ceasefire agreement with BH and if that ceasefire leads to the release of the Chibok girls, then that would be real cause for celebration. I do hope, I sincerely do hope, that this story turns out to be true. But we should not delude ourselves that this marks the end of the insurgency. Nor should we even think that these jihadists will necessarily keep their promises. The truth is that the Chibok saga, as tragic as it is, has become an instrument of political blackmail. Believe it or not, those who oppose Goodluck Jonathan do not want those girls released -- at least not now. They think it would be too much of an electoral bonus, a public relations bonanza for him. This is realpolitik; it has nothing to do with how competent or incompetent Jonathan is. And for your information, I don't think Jonathan is exactly a paragon of presidential competence, to put it very mildly.

Furthermore, as we read stories about how negotiations are taking place in Saudi Arabia, it should raise certain questions: Why Saudi Arabia? Why should terrorists feel safe to hold their negotiations there? What is the role of that country's government and its nationals in Boko Haram? If, as some people argue, Boko Haram has nothing to do with Islam, why should it choose the birthplace of Islam and the most islamic country in the world as its base for negotiations?

Nigerians, ponder on these things and be wise! These times call for vigilance and prayer. Just my humble opinion.
