EkoIle1:
Your crocodile tears and concern for the people of Osun fools nobody and its not only redundant, its ignorant and foolish simply because you have no data, connection or any kind of knowledge regarding the state's economic health and future projections talk less opining anything about the state.

Fortunately for the people and the government of Osun, your usual bigoted and ignorant tantrums is confined and limited to the pages of NL.

To further articulate your ignorance and idiocy about this airport and.your ACN rubbish, the previous PDP administration in the same state stole or mismanaged N5 billion meant for the same airport with nothing to show for it.

But the light is at the end of the tunnel under the present administration simply because they did the most sensiible and prudent thing by giving the airport to the Nigerian military engineers to build.

Your silly next line of argument should be Aregbeshola conspired with the Nigerian Military to dupe the people of Osun...

Though I find you ignorant trolls on NL amusing and entertaining sometimes, but you people sink to the lowest depths of absurdity and shameful display sometimes...

You are better off shedding tears for your own back and non relevant village...

You people represent the very ugly side of Nigeria...
Now, bow your head in shame.
The man was right.

Okay we've heard but that didn't stop the state from having the fourth largest GDP in southern Nigeria for 2012 behind Lagos, Rivers and Oyo

It also didn't stop the state from increasing its IGR from N300m to N1.6bn per month in less than 3 years (Currently the state with the third largest IGR in Nigeria after Lagos at almost N30bn and Ogun at N4bn monthly)

If these landmark achievements are another word for looting, then let him loot your vain expectations to the very last penny

First they started these rumours with being the most educated, later jamb was able to truncate their hollow lies with their valid data posted on their website which Dibu ojerinde removed as soon as he became the jamb boss, when this dawned on them that their age long fallacies has been uncovered they started another baseless fallacy and deception with their universities ranking system which has been flushed down the dustbin of history with award winning professors produced by universities in the east rated lowly by their worthless Web rankings.
Next they started another futile dissipation of energy with their over hyping of the achievements of Fashola which has been deflated with results from Uyo, enugu and Rivers, still not done yet they campaigned with out success the un viability of enugu international airport prior to August 24 only to be thoroughly shamed and baffled with consistent flight traffic.
One of their agents presently has a law case hanging over his neck as a result of his misplaced and misguided aggression from attacking and smearing the reputation of some igbo married women when he was presented with bare facts about the ownership of lagos their last hope.
Now they are going about with some fictitious GDP figures trying to sway the sentiments of gullible online Bloggers, this they are doing not minding the fact that the Central Bank of Nigeria has updated nigerians with all the cities where 90% of the monetary transactions and deposits occur.

Of what use is ibadan/Oyo GDP figures when the monetary transactions in Aba and Onitsha is very much higher than it.
Where is the gross domestic product when the it does not produce monetary transactions , the measure of goods and services should translate to cash transactions and measurements
This post is still very relevant today because it is nothing but the truth.

They will keep shielding their corrupt governors and lying to themselves while the said governors rob them blind.

You are very funny.

All the roads Aregbe has done in Osun State is more than all your motorable roads in Alaigbo.

On the idea of an airport, though I was not in support, but it takes leadership to and vision to put up a project that will be beneficial to generations yet unborn. The same airport will have Abuja flight as a regular route. Same will be used to airlift pilgrims to hajj or jerusalem, rather than going to Ilorin or Lagos, same will be used to air lift agricultural products to Europe directly, rather than packaging them and sending them to Lagos. Most especially perishable products and cash crops such as kolanut.

Work began on bit and it has stopped for now and it shall be completed when the economy improves.

It is better than an imaginary 2NB that does not even have a pole to show or the phantom Ochendo International Market that was a thick forest.
Like I said, Mr Man, carry on with your self deceit and grand foolishness
I will come back in a year's time to dig out this thread and ask you how far...

Is it the part that showed the commissioning of the invisible 2NB? cheesy grin cheesy
Nope. It is the part about you gullible little lambs genuflecting over a white elephant ghost project not realizing you were getting raaped economically. The stupidity of ignorance.
At least the SE people understand that there is a problem, which is why they constantly attack TA Orji and Rochas on these boards. But in your case, you dumbasses are ready to stake your lives in the name of defending your corrupt, semi-literate, pseudo-intellectuals you call governors!
See the way you mumus were dancing over this CLEAR white elephant project without asking the necessary questions on how a predominantly subsistent agrarian state plans to fund this shipwreck without going down under!
Until Aregbe's asss was exposed when fuel prices crashed, anybody for realize say Osun state is nothing but an insolvent geographic expression depending on Niger Delta oil to survive? No! You delusional pieces of turds would have still been here lying to yourselves that Osun State was Nigeria's "7th largest economy", and how it had the 4th largest IGR (clowns). So Osun no even fit pay salaries? Shame!!!

The worst form of deceit is self deceit. Enjoy your self imposed JJC-ism.

PoliticsRe: The IGR Debate - Reloaded! by MCMLXXVI(m): 1:51pm On Jun 03, 2015
Sloan:
Finally, all the data is up folks! The floor is open for you to analyze and interpret the data.

Here, I will elucidate on the key points and I enjoin debaters to speak from facts only! Do not derail the thread with inanities.

This represents the latest statistics (2012) from the CBN, the FG's most complete source of financial information with data sourced from appropriate government departments. The focus is to answer, from published data once and for all, the leading states in terms of the Internal Generated Revenue, a key measure of the domestic economy of each state or a measure of the earnings coming from the economic activity within each state.

From data, Lagos (non-oil producing, South West Nigeria) clearly leads all the other states of Nigeria. Next, is Kano (North), Ogun (South West), Rivers (South South) and Oyo (South West). All revenues from these South West States have no 13% derivation components because they are non-oil producing states. This is the basic top 5 economic centres of Nigeria as at 2012 Official Statistics from the CBN. It is interesting that if you made the analogy of the best 11 of Nigeria, the South West and North make up 10 out of 11 with Abia (SE) squeezing in only barely ahead of Gombe! I think the north deserves a bit more respect from the rest of Nigeria especially the people who insult them the most from the South of Nigeria (no need to mention names).

Now it gets more interesting: the crown jewel of the SE of Nigeria Anambra, comes up abysmally short at number 21, soundly beaten down by Osun State (SW) and Ebonyi (one of the last states created in Nigeria). This either means the touted productivity of Anambra is either imaginary and non-existent or the state is cooking its books and stealing its people and nation blind by not declaring tax revenues and consequently stealing it or the leadership is inept and unable to be accountable to the people and the nation. It is specially important that the oft-derided Osun State is doing better economically than Anambra.

It is important to mention Delta State because recently some NL have lopsidedly touted it as being somewhere at the top of the Nigerian economy ladder - a falsity given there is no data that supports it and no mention by the official data of the CBN. Delta State surely takes a lot of billions in allocation revenues but the internal economic activity is completely abysmal coming it at a ridiculous 29 out of 37! It means without its oil revenue, it cannot survive or depend on the human resources and their creativity to regenerate and sustain its economy.

Finally, I must mention that while Ekiti is doing relatively okay, it needs to do a whole lot more! The South West MUST not find ANY excuse for not being at the top of any ranking! Yes, Ekiti may have been created last night and having no oil revenues, fine but we must strive to put Ekiti so far ahead and we Yorubas want it up there neck-in-neck with Lagos only! Yes, believe it and Lagos, oh you're pushing the limits and we commend your efforts but it still not enough for us! We need you to be competing neck-in-neck with New York and London! Ondo State has done far worse than Ekit, with no oil revenues! Again, it shows that presence of oil does not imply the presence of good management and effective intellectual resources! Ondo, we YOUR PEOPLE cannot accept your position struggling at the bottom of the pile, some people may accept that but NOT US! I urge US South Westerners not to bat an eye lid until we wake-up to the fact that our fathers did not run an empire for over 500 years huffing and puffing at the bottom of the pile! Ondo get your game on, please! To all of us, I say see you at the TOP!

EducationRe: Osun Distributes Computer Tablets Of Knowledge For Test-running by MCMLXXVI(m): 9:54am On May 30, 2015
emiye:
This is a laudable initiative. !!!!!

i believe this is meant to work like a mobile library for the students.

A typical desktop workstation is way costly to set up than this, and limits the student access to just 8am - 3pm on school days. It is way different from a desktop computer, as there is virtually constant access to the information 24 hours from Sunday to Sunday, except when the battery is down.

I dont think they will be provide internet access on the tablet to those who fear that might encourage students watching indecency. The State government can then configure the tablet to be read only, such that information can not be deleted or stored by the students on the tablet except by the manufacturer.( that way no student can download music or games)

Imagine a situation where a science students has Modern biology , Ababio chemistry, P.n Okeke Physics e.t.c all the 9 textbooks for the 9 subjects on a single tablet A teacher can even give out assignments on their mobile textbooks

The tablet also has advantage than a laptop, as it would be more compact, easy to carry and charge.

Service centres need to be opened across the states for repairs, and students need to be adequately trained on how to operate and handle the tablets with care.

I see great success with this initiative, but they must thread with caution, poor project planning means a great loss to the state

My greatest fear is the fund,This will set the state bottomline back by roughly 10 billion Naira all other cons by some posters mentioned can be easily surmounted.

i believe the average population of a s.s1 - s.s 3 class should be 500 students, and Osun state should have roughly 500 state owned government schools. That equals 500 * 500 = 250,000 tablets

Those tablets with the functionalities might cost over N30,000.

250,000 tablets * N30,000 = N7.5 billion Naira. Other expenses like spares, service centre, training will push the total cost to the N10 billion.

N10 billion is no small money for a state like Osun state to gamble with, there are other pressing educational needs in the state in the primary and junior secondary arm of the state schools
Can this guy come back today and repeat this now that the scales have fallen off?
grin

PoliticsRe: Why Has Wike Suddenly Gone Dumb? by MCMLXXVI(m): 1:30pm On May 24, 2015
I really don't know why these APC supporters choose to bask in self deceit. PDP did not participate in that sham called election, and it is an open secret that Wike and his crew are simply laughing their butts off and waiting to ascend office on May 29th just to dissolve the so called LG Chairmen and their offices.
It is a well known fact that INEC did not grant their voter register to RSIEC, so even that is a good enough reason to upturn the results on the grounds that there were no records of accredited voters or verified signatures of party agents, so where is this empty pyrrhic victory coming from?

Most hilarious is the fact that majority of the people rejoicing and praising Amaechi here, are delusional, naive nitwits and bums who are based in LAGOS and have NO CLUE what the general concensus in Rivers State is, except the propagandist trash they read in their gbo gbo ni se dailies like The Nation, Osun Defender and Punch. That's the only explanation as to why a human being with a supposedly functional brain could open their mouth and say "Rivers is an APC state".
Talk about self delusion and stupidity.
