Dino the greatest Kogi Senator ever he has helped alot of people. but who Saraki eepppp ![]() |
The Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami SAN has asked the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, to order the resumption of the trial of Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye. The court had adjourned indefinitely the case to enable the embattled senator to recuperate. The letter dated June 4, and with reference number DPPA/INVEST./023/18, was sent to the court following Melaye’s resumption of legislative duties at the Senate on May 30. The letter addressed to “The Chief Registrar, High Court of FCT, Maitama, Abuja” was entitled, ‘Re; Charge No. CR/106/18: FRN V Senator Dino Melaye; Request for a date for trial’. The AGF office is, in the case, prosecuting Melaye on two counts of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr Edward Onoja David, in an alleged assassination attempt on his (Melaye’s) life. Justice Olasunbo Goodluck had on May 17, 2018, adjourned the case indefinitely, pending when the senator would be discharged from the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja, where he was then admitted. However, AGF asked the court to commence the trial now that the Kogi lawmaker has resumed his legislative duties. The letter sent to the court read in part, “After listening to both counsel for the prosecution and the defence respectively, the court in its wisdom adjourned the case sine die (indefinitely) to enable the medical condition of the defendant to be restored to enable him to attend court for trial. “My lord, following his removal from the ICU, discharged from the National Hospital, Abuja and his subsequent resumption of duty at the National Assembly precisely on May 30 and 31, we humbly apply for a date for the prosecution to open its case in line with the ruling of this honourable court cited above and hearing notices served accordingly.” source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/06/dino-melaye-agf-writes-court-seeks.html

The immediate past Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has challenged his successor and current Governor, Abubakar Bello, to prove his that administration failed to invest in projects or keep quiet altogether. He stated this in reaction to Bello’s allegation against him which bordered on impropriety in the execution of key projects initiated during his tenure and described the incumbent as a liar and sentimental. In a press statement signed by his Media Assistant, Israel Ayegba, Aliyu claimed Bello was merely looking for an escape route, ahead of 2019 elections. “Through unwarranted allegations, the ruling APC administration in Niger State is merely trying to give the impression that every past administration in the state was as clueless as the incumbent. “While we agree that the ruling APC administration in Niger State reserves the right to raise issues about its predecessors’ performances in office, we must say that the party in power lacks the moral justification to turn itself into a perpetual blackmailer of its precursors even when it finds it difficult to substantiate its allegations,” he said. source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/06/babangida-blasts-governor-bello-says.html

England Vs Nigeria: Mikel Obi Blames Southgate For Super Eagles’ 2-1 Loss http://www.kendogist.com/2018/06/england-vs-nigeria-mikel-obi-blames.html Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has blamed England coach, Gareth Southgate for Super Eagles’ 2-1 defeat to Three Lions on Saturday at Wembley. Eagles conceded two goals, courtesy of strikes from Gary Cahill and Harry Kane in the first half before responding with an Alex Iwobi strike after the break. Southgate deployed a 3-5-2 formation against Gernot Rohr’s side, with Gary Cahill, John Stones and Kyle Walker the central defenders, while Ashley Young and Kieran Trippier were the wing-backs. Mikel, however, said Rohr’s men were defeated by Three Lions because of the tactics Southagate employed. ”We played against a team with five in the back. They always have an extra man,” Obi Mikel told reporters after the game. ”How do you play against a team with five in the back? It is always difficult but I think in the second half we played with five in the back as well to try and match them and that’s what we did. ”We played much better, we created chances and we scored the goal. We know we can play better, we have to be playing this way. ”We need to be together, we need to be strong as a team.” Nigeria will face Czech Republic in their next warm up game on Wednesday, before heading out to Russia and getting their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign underway in two weeks’ time.
