Gentlelife50: Uber app be misbehaving, rider will cancel and it will still be on on your app. Yea, thought I was the only one experiencing it. Last month my self and one other driver got the same request from same lady and we both drove to the place after speaking with the lady. In fact when I called her after accepting her request she said that a driver called earlier and his on the way. I made her to understand that the guy must have cancelled that was why it came to me. I got to her house first and after like 4mins the other driver arrived and we were both amazed. When she came down stairs she was confused on who to go with and it was my name that appeared on her app and na long trip sha. The other driver said he didnt cancel and was surprised to meet me there. We were both itching to go the mainland as nothing was happening in Lekki that fateful Saturday. As we were talking a request entered the guys phone, he called and it was a very short trip, na so my guy leave. Another one is atimes when you accept an incoming request it will disappear on your to reappear after some seconds. Uber wan be like Taxify |

ifyeez: You probably did not go tru the thread very well, anyway let me answer ur question. 1. Pray hard before you leave ur house and starting of trips
1.1 Start early: 4:30am get up and set destination.
2. Positioning: Example you can't stay inside mushin and expect island trip, you will get Festac and Ago. Ask Gentle will explain beta
3. Trip Chasing: You must ve heard us talking about about surge, yes chase it, one thing with surge is that even if it's gone when you got there, just hang around you must get trip, because some smart ass riders, won't request till the surge is over. One rider told me he has been requesting for the past two hours and canceling because he doesn't want surge trip, stingy guy doesn't want drivers to smile. On that note chase wisely some are not worth it.
4: Pepe and Salt: ask the taxiappguy about it joking please don't come for me
5. Make friends: always try to keep in contact with some nice riders, I have this lady I take to her office every morning at V.i
6. Stanley this space is for you
7. Romeo
8. Chuck
9.Gentle
9.1 Tgirl
10. Always keep contact with ur follow drivers, they will teach you there own tweaks they use, we learn everyday, that's why some of us are here everyday.
That said, some days are so bad you will probably prefer not coming out that day than come out and not get trips, or get useless trip
Would ve added Gazzuzz buh he doesn't river anymore , I remember when he told us he made, 7k from 7pm to 11pm, that made me seat up
Well spoken bro. Not necessarily starting early, most times I don't start early but I finish very very well. My area dey surge all the time. Island trips can be gotten from Mushin cos of its proximity to V.I, I have done quite a number from there. Positioning is the master key in this work and this work doesn't expect one to be lazy. Don't wait too long in one place waiting for request, always change position. You can't sleep in ur car all day under the tree and expect good returns lailai. Target long trips and surge(not scam surge o) cos its the ultimate. Always check ur map before embarking on any trip especially trips to the mainland for traffic update and its not every trip(area) you see u jump at. Be wise in this work. |

brogxy: That means your riders cancellation was really high. Chai! I counted my riders' cancellation for today. A whole 11 Yes na, riders cancellation was high. The thing pain me cos I was close to wining the independence bonus of 7k. Some mumu riders will always cancel based on the undermentioned. 1. If you delay in calling them after accepting their request. 2. If ur location is far from their pickup point and they can't wait cos they are in a hurry( most times Uber will display 2mins ETA to them while the driver will be seeing 5mins and when you accept it it changes to 8mins. Me, I look out for two things when accepting incoming requests and they are ETA and distance to pickup location. Then after accepting I will check to see the riders rating so as prepare myself on how to deal with the rider. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Megadrop: 8:39pm On Oct 30, 2018 |
brogxy: Log into your driver's account on your browser, you will see your cancellation rate there. There is nothing like rider's cancellation Bros, I am talking from experience, riders cancellation and drivers cancellation accounts for one being blocked. They feel that most riders cancel after they must have spoken with the driver and he or she declines the trip. I was blocked on independence eve when I was just completing my 18th trip. The message was communicated to me that night via sms immediately I swiped to complete a trip. Consequent upon that I was made to go through a mandatory course for those that were blocked and in the cause of that I was also made to understand that all I stated in the foregoings or rather in my earlier post on cancellation counts including your city of operation. Furthermore, on enquiry same thing was also sounded into my ears at the greenlight hub. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Megadrop: 5:51pm On Oct 30, 2018 |
brogxy: Ignoring a request mean your acceptance rating will drop which means more waiting time. High cancellation can make you get blocked from using Uber. In a case of useless pickup location or if your mind doesn't go for a certain request, try your luck by informing the rider that you can't make but should cancel maybe a closer driver can get the request. Or ignore the rider's calls when you are contacted, this will make the rider get frustrated and cancel the request. Long pickups are not worth it but you can call and ask for the destination to know if it's worth going for the pickup. In all, try to pick all requests to reduce your waiting time. Avoid high cancellation to prevent being blocked. Both riders cancelled trip and drivers cancelled trip accounts for one being blocked. In addition to that make sure that your cancellation rate is max 7% all tru the week cos Uber starts counting from Monday till Sunday and at the end if your cancellation rate exceeds the city's preferred cancellation rate you will be blocked. According to Uber every city in operation has its own laid down cancellation rate and drivers mustn't exceed it or else they be blocked. |

taxiappguy: Allow me digress a little. Uber and Taxify should set the expectation for riders. They should teach riders what to expect from their Rideshare driver. You Rideshare driver is an independent entity, he is not your salaried driver. Or there to pander to your whims and caprices. You have not arrived because you are using Uber or Taxify. Pun intended. Both parties please be nice and it can be a mutually beneficial experience.
I have like 90k in free trips. So I'm giving out 2 free trip requests on Taxify worth 3k each. Totally free, no strings attached. If you want one, i assume you know what to do. Kainosdu: I need to share this experience or better still advice to the house(especially newbie on ehailing) since have also gained from stories and experiences from people on this forum. I got a request at mma1 airport today, I called the rider a female to know where she was, when I got to where she was which is just at the arrival, I decided to wait for her to come into the car since she was very close to me. Before I knew it men of the underworld clipped my tyre as she was about to enter. I said oga this is my passenger right in my car that am leaving now, she was close to me that was why I decided to wait some seconds for her to come in. The guy said I was not supposed to park at all to pick a passenger. To cut the long story short they took the vehicle to their office gave me a ticket of 10000. I begged and begged infact this should be my longest begging if there is any grammar like that. I eventually paid the money. So please like I said for those just coming in incase you find yourself at the airport mma1 in particular make sure you are very careful and smart if possible use the car park. Those guys are actually terrible and heartless. You need to see the way the were impounding vehicles today even while I was leaving their office more cars were still coming. I even heard from sources after my experience that those guys themselves now make request and setup Uber drivers. Please guys try as much as possible to avoid them you may be wrong you may also be right they don't care at all. So sorry about that bro, big lesson learnt. Airport work is for the brave and strong hearted. Anytime I find myself at the airport no matter your personality when I pick your request you must come to the designated car park. Sometime last month, I accepted a request on uber at the same local airport and the man called immediately and asked me to drive to the arrival and pick him, I made it clear to him that I cant do that that he has to come to the car park which is the pickup point. The man insisted that I come that his a military man. I just locked up and cancelled the request. This is one of the reasons why so many drivers don't do airport work. |

dapotemi: Don't get it wrong, I did not allow the car to enter their station, I vehemently oppose that and when they see my reaction, we decided to park close to the station, just like two houses after the police station. I did not enter the station, they never ask me or my driver to enter their station.Secondly, either myself nor my driver entered the sstation, there was no need to as the people we were dealing with sef dey their checkpoint they control traffic. Thitdly, we did not write any statement, as no one demand for it. They jus keep us for road, for more than five hours. Ny driver did his best for the first two hours before he called me. The only tin they have is d car key. Seriously, I don't know why you are getting yourself worked up on this inconsequential matter. Oga, there is no issue here as far as am concerned. Nigerian Police na police? Even if your driver like let him pass that same route tmrw and wave to them, they won't even recognize him or the car. Do you know how many people they impound their vehicles everyday? When dealing with those guys you have to be smart. Abeg go and give your thoughts to something better and meaningful not this one. |

Gentlelife50: Sometimes I just feel like making small trouble and catch fun. Just rolling out and the three apps were on, request enter on Uber. Called the number I saw there the ruder picked, I said good morning Sir. He didn't respond and the next thing he asked where are you naa? I just end the call, how can someone be that rude? He called back, I greeted him again he asked the same where are you naa? Without even responding to the greeting. I decided to catch small fun, I now replied. Oga I am here he said where? In my car at legend bar road, do you want to come? He now said please come to Doreen wellness center, I said okay that's better than asking me where I am and u won't help me with directions after. Done with the trip still expecting my one star. I dish it out to them as they come. I am tired of hearing that annoying question where are youthat most riders are very very rude they just feel that you are absolutely beneath them. The truth of the matter is that this big headed riders in fact all of them don't know how to use the riders app because you can actually see on the app the location and position of the driver when he picks your request and all they need do is just to simply guide him to their respective locations. The good ones that know about the workings of the app will track you via the app and also call you l when you miss a turn while trying to navigate to their pickup location. Drivers should be the ones asking the riders their location not the other way round because most riders don't know how to use the app giving rise to so many wrong pickup locations. |

Hahaha, I have seen worse messages, just know it that in this line of business shit like this must happen. I always let it go and move on. Had similar experience two weeks back, the idiot texted and it says she will report me to Uber and I will be penalized, I smiled and told her to go ahead. They just want to get you into trouble either by making you stop at an unauthorized place or follow one way. Most of the requests I got yesterday were wrongly done as pickup locations were all totally different from their actual location. Worst of it all is that they will never keep calm, listen and learn how to do it. slamstanlee: The worst of them all today. (Uber) I dropped some1 at house of assembly, den got another request from same point. Called rider and she said she isnt in house of assembly, I should come to d secretariat. Block 1. I got there. At the parking lot. Her pick up still shows house of assembly.
I waited like 12mins, no show, if i cancel i wont get paid, she called after 15mins+, that i should come to some other parking lot. When i tried to, the security men said i was going the wrong way...at the same time she was calling and shouting "where are u" I got frustrated and confused and had to cancel d trip and find my way out....
The next thing she sent these 2 sms I just acted i didn't see them. But the thing dey vex me like dis Whats ur thought guys? |
