I picked up my rider, Mr. Emeka in a hotel at #226A Muri Okuola street in Victoria Island. He said he was going to Eko hotel.
I started the trip and drove through Adegun Ajose. He ordered me to stop by Chicken Republic so he'd pick up something to eat. I pulled over and waited for him.

He was in there for about 12 minutes. while he was there I got another request, the next rider called and asked me when I'd get to him. I told him I was on a ride but I'd reach him in about ten minutes, that was the ETA according to the map.
I called my current rider to tell him I was still waiting.

He said I should hold on, that it's his money and he could keep me however long he wanted. He dropped the call.

I waited for about another seven minutes before he came out. After he got in back into the car, he asked me why I called to hurry him up, that his money was running and he could keep me for however long he wished.
I nicely replied that and said ' Sir that's not really how it works, and that I had another request and the rider who's waiting for me just after his trip"

He flared up and said who am I to tell him how things work in Lagos. That if I talk again he'd keep me there for the rest of the day.

He sounded really frightening so I told him to kindly request another ride, that I wasn't going to continue with the trip anymore. He said am I mad? I must take him to his destination otherwise he'd beat me up and no one can do anything about it.

I reversed back into chicken Republic and stepped out of the car, leaving him inside alone. He sat inside, opened his side of the door and relaxed.

I went to the security guy at Chicken Republic to report the situation and
to ask if they had contact of any Police officer around. While I was making my report to the security guard, He stormed into the eatery hall to drag me back into the car. I resisted and tried to run into he bathroom. He is huge and was throwing punches at me.

After about 5 minutes, I ended the trip and told him to just leave me alone and go. Onlookers told him to go that the trip was over and since didnt want to go, he should get another ride.

Hoping we were done, I stepped outside to get to my car, he grabbed me and hit me on my back, near my neck region, it affected my left spine. While this was going on, a lady was taking a video of what was going on. He went on to harass the lady. I tried to get into my car, he wouldn't let me. He threatened to kill me. All these while the other rider was waiting. I had to quickly escape to Adeogun Ajose roundabout to get a police officer. I locked my car and ran off since he didn't let me into my car. He said he'd keep me there for the rest of the day. When I got back wirh an Officer, he pushed down my car window and opened the lock. Got his stuff and made away with his food and my fuel money.
The police officer said he's likely a kidnapper. The other rider cancelled his waiting trip. While I was thinking of what to do next, I got another request heading to my home. so accepted it and I just got to my last riders destination, that was why I filed in this report pretty late. I am deeply hurt, emotionally and internally.

My spine hurts.
My wife called and started crying when she heard the whole chaos.

I have pictorial and video evidence to these.

I met a rider who thinks he is smart today, I picked up a request I told rider I was on my way cos it was 5km distance(though I delayed a bit cos of too many locked estate gates). When I finally got to Rider's estate, he got angry he refused to pick his call and also didn't want to end the trip, I waited at d estate gate with security for over 10min, gave him 5 missed call,. I was pissed
Las Las I vex give d security 100h, told him my bro number is switched off, but I know exactly where I'm going, I got to pickup point, and zoomed off.
40sec to chop 400 waiting time, rider call pleading for me to come back and pick him so he won't be charged 400, I declined cos Las Las na 1 star trip grin grin
Right now d broke guy dey beg me to transfer his 400 back he even sent his account details,
Abeg did I do wrong, cos my conscience cum dey judge me now cry cry

This is very wrong, uber already has a precedure in place if a rider refuses to pay you, how can you expose your rider online to the whole world just because of 3200 naira, unfortunately you're anonymous else he also has the right to report you to uber and you will be banned for life.
You need to be on the road to experience what drivers are passing through. You lack knowledge on how this things work. Uber has a procedure in place for such doesnt make you not to ask for what rightly belongs to you. A lot of our so called celebrities are broke and have turned themselves into scammers, I have dealt with some of them and I can comfortably tell you that they saw my other side. We need to learn to protect our integrity in this country. This is a country where virtually everybody has deceitful tendency. People are just so comfortable scamming and cheating one another and they are ok with it. How can I offer you a service and you will refuse to honour your own part of the bargain by not paying me my money. The fare is so low putting drivers at the mercy of riders yet riders will still not want to part with that so called little amount that you as a driver laboured for under rain and sun.

Whosoever that must have sold this idea of flat rate to Bolt should be hanged and shot. Almost all my trips on Sunday had issues but i decided to let it go. Got a request today while chilling in Ilupeju, called rider and he said destination was freedom way, Lekki. As we were approaching Unilag waterfront I checked fare it displayed 1k, checked again at Adekunle interchange 1k4, then again as i was on top of the bridge descending unto Osborne it jumped to 3k and we still hv like 9km to dropoff only to end trip at destination and it displayed same 3k after about close to 2hrs plus in traffic from 3mb, Osborne and ikoyi link bridge. Checked rider app and it displayed same 3k.

Also did another trip from Opebi to Ijesha and rider made me follow a longer route and app displayed 1k7. Checked with rider app and 1k7 was the fare. In view of the foregoing I think I am done driving on Bolt for now till they come back to their senses. I am ok with Uber for now.

Yes, I quite agree with you on this but there's something about lekki 1 on weekends and pub hols, the place is always dry except early mornings and late evenings but by this time na Grace o. Lekki 1 during weekends and pub hols booms early mornings if you there to move early risers to airport but asides that the place no be am during periods like this except work days. He should blow to Jakande, Agungi or Ajah were there's a larger percentage of the youth population.

Some people are just mean and inconsiderate, picked this woman, her kid and neighbors kid from mafoluku to Yaba.
She didn't want us to pass the normal route she kept directing through the worse of roads. Sometimes we will meet traffic she will tell me to reverse and change route, dropped the kids at jibowu and her final destination Abeokuta street Yaba.
Immediately we enter the street the woman said I should end trip, I did. She now told me she's going down the street that I should let her follow me to the office which I did.
We got there she got down and said I should send my account details to her since I have her number, I let her go because cars were behind me and nowhere to park there.
Besides I didn't bother since it's an Uber trip, I sent my account details later. This woman sent a message telling me she sent message to Uber that the price is much that she will soon forward the reply to me, I regretted letting this woman go.
She just used sense for me, only for me to check that trip and saw 000 naira I quickly mailed Uber they started saying their normal when a rider question a trip they always review it.
They said I took the wrong route or that the woman said it was a GPS issue, I sent my own mail regarding the said trip they said they have added miscellaneous whatever to my next week payout.
Up till now I can't see the reflection of any refund and the trip didn't even count as regards the 15 trip stuff, I called this woman several times she didn't pick.
I later called her with several different number she picked and when she learnt it's me said sorry that she told Uber she's paying #1200.

This is a journey that took over an hour, I told her plainly that she simply doesn't want to pay. That if she multiply #10/m she have roughly #700, does it mean she want to pay #500 from Ikeja to Yaba with stop at jibowu. Even if Uber want to do something they will only give her bonus as balance and won't tell her not to pay the fare displayed on the app, I was already at her mercy and simply told her to pay whatever she want to pay. She transferred #1700, that's why some drivers rather do saka.
I even blame Uber for reviewing a trip they knew nothing about without asking the driver first and believing a one side story.
I told them my mind sha, that drivers are not slaves. They should learn to hear from drivers first before reviewing any trip.
Its a pity she met a cool headed person like you@Gentlelife50. Personally am not a very patient person when it comes to issues as this. The moment I discover that you are an oversabi person I will just politely shut you up and stick to uber app route should incase an issue comes up later and not even google map route cos they both suggests different routes and google is better. How will I drive all the way from Oshodi to Ebute metta and you will alight from my vehicle without paying me just like that! Well, like Aaron Neville will say, everybody plays the fool. Even if the trip is on uber at least you have to demand for your money its ur right. The fear of low rating has really dealt with boiz and has condemned them to not to talk again grin. For ur info that woman is a rogue and she has been doing that to several drivers and getting away with it and u arent the first. Some day she will meet a driver that will deal with her. How much was the actual app displayed fare?

Positioning is key in this biz. Ensure you are always at the right place at the right time. Target commercial and very busy areas during the day and at the close of work and residential areas early mornings. Grace and favour also counts. Above all check ur network connection and service provider. Also use ur user/rider app to check if ur car is displayed on the app as online cars awaiting request.

Na sleep cos am
Are u new in this work? So 3percent is same as offline. 2months ago when uber was busy flagging almost all their drivers at some point disabled change of destination from drivers phone but restored it after sometime and one of their reasons was fraud from drivers especially on card trips. So, if u have been flagged before by uber for fraud then u will know wht am trying to say. You can change destination from ur phone but with caution and make sure it's a cash not card trip. Las las u go dey alrite

Changing destination from ur phone sometimes isn't good o and Uber frowns at it cos u can be flagged for fraud.

Good point.. When you have a passion for what u do ,it becomes fun .. It is no longer work .. That is why it is important to find something you love doing and try to make a living out of it . Once you can do that the rest is history example Warren buffet loves to trade ,he gets a kick out of it and keeps is brain very active at an old age. .. Do u known that Warren buffet is not very materialistic? This is because his job brings him joy and he doesn't consider it work .. I hope I have answered your question
But you are not Warren Buffett sir. So stalking on ur drivers brings u joy and satisfaction and In ur own understanding stalking is a passion. In other words what you have been telling us about ur drivers being committed and never defaults in payment is a hoax because i see no reason why u will be monitoring them all the way from where u said u are if truly they don't default. Ehailing in Nigeria is for today not for tmrw so channel half of ur energy into something else to save ur self the stress and by extension securing ur future like that of Warren Buffett.

Not for a vehicle of 7 months old(almost brand new) , forget naija roads, a Toyota made in 2018 just 7 months old would not have a shaft issue in 7 months.

There are guys that pay 35k and still do repairs without any complain, I have them as friends. I have over 2 years experience... I wont post my earnings because the haters will come after me. I currently drive a Corolla 2006 30k delivery. My issue with my current partner is his attitude(rude abusive and negligence to repairs)I have NEVER defaulted his payment...
Why change the narrative, we are talking about rental here. Even at that, the drivers doing 35k and above including repairs on hp have you bothered to know if they have a life outside ehailing? You are currently doing 30k and u feel your body needs more stress challenge and u wanna do 35k. Moreso, the reasons you adduced for wanting to leave ur current partner is not cogent enof for me to believe that you arent one of those drivers who dont pay rentals and work 24hrs without rest and also enjoy moving from one car to another after it has been wrecked under a month which is evident from the earnings on the dashboard you posted and by the way which sensible investor/partner will want to lose a driver who is assiduously committed to his rental payment and has never defaulted? If you were on a 9 to 5 job and earning big will you quit because your boss is abusive and nags. Lastly, I seriously do not know where you got this wrong assumption that all the cars deployed on ehailing doesnt have catalyst.

Who else noticed that Uber is taking only 3% commission?
I think it's system error cos there's no notification to that effect. 3 percent comes into effect after you have completed 15trips. Am very sure their balance commission will be deducted later and they call it trip adjustment.

Got a request on Awolowo rd called rider and rider said she was going to Adeniyi Jones Ikeja. On our way as i was still trying to navigate my way tru Awolowo heavy traffic and flood. I told rider that the traffic and flood was too much so am not sure I will embark on the trip. On our way back to her office she made me to understand tht two drivers before me cancelled on her because of traffic and flood. So eventually we agreed on 5k offline. After dropping rider at her destination got another request from airport hotel to Chevron drive. Got to pickup and after waiting for 15mins for the guy, finally he appeared with one heavily tatooed olosho. After exchanging pleasantries I just told them that the whole road is flooded and so much traffic. Las las we agreed on 6.5k. Got to destination na so olosho give me 7k!
