GforGee:
So this lady (and her friend) ordered for uber from Magodo, going to VI. Map shows I'm just by the corner but I was actually on the other side of the estate at a dead-end trying to find my way to her. She just called and started asking where I was, why am I moving away since I'm already close--explained to her but she be "èlétí dídì Alágídí-ọkàn" (stubborn hearted deaf).
My surprise. I got to her location to pick her, as soon as I moved the car, she asked me to hurry or "I should come and drive?". I looked at her and said in my mind that Ọlọ́run májẹ (God forbid).
Imagine, going that distance and still prepare late, now call uber that will come to your doorstep oo undecided You will now be showing attitude again. See Complaining all the way, me just kept my cool and was smiling gently all along. At the end of the #2,796 trip, she no even get enough cash to pay, na transfer she do. Saying she will transfer #2700 and gimme #100. I don't have change, just told her to transfer all, transferred after some moment.......the money never still enter, though she showed me the debit alert.
She got the most beautiful 2star I have on my rating list.
Stop accepting transfers, well with time you will understand. Ride payment is either cash or card or you wait till I see the transfer via banking app before you alight from my vehicle. There are so many untrustworthy riders both well dressed and non well dressed, innocent looking and non innocent looking. This work is not as easy as its being painted from the outside.

Guys beware of this rogue petrol station at Abesan estate as you drive in its on the left. I think the name is firat Royal or so cant remember. Was at Shagari estate when i got a request at one event center inside Abesan, my tank was almost on reserve so I decided to quickly get fuel there cos rider said she was going to Surulere but will make a quick stop at Aboru. So I drove in then told the two ladies manning one particular pump that the display wasn't too visible tht am buying 2k fuel. I knew there was something wrong with the station so I focused all attention on the pump. As the pump reading was approaching 1,600 the attendant started talking to me to divert my attention and at the same the other lady just pressed a button and the figure jumped to 2k. Chai, I became mad instantly and demanded why she did that and at the same time demanding to see the manager if not I will write DPR to close the station. The lady seeing that it was escalating added additional 800fuel, I paid 2k and drove off. Be warned so that the little you struggle to make don't just go like that.

Uber forced me to update the app two days ago or else I won't be able to go online but after that the updated version is crap. Doesn't show route/direction on how to get to riders pickup anymore unlike the old and also when on a trip doesn't show comprehensive direction and movement. Anybody experiencing this?

What would you have done with this rider grin
Why is this rider still being allowed to use Taxify, from the rating it clearly shows that he/she is a troublemaker. That was how I asked one lady one day why her rating was low that she need to show more love to her drivers and Taxify may soon block her from using the app, she just hissed and said oga, abeg free me. I just concluded that she's a troublemaker and joined the queue by humbly dashing her 1*.

Some girls r just born stupid, when u see a rider with 4.3 rating, u don't need anyone to tell u deh lack manners. I'm at MBA when dis request came in, she called and ask me to drive down to cash and carry with my boot open... I asked madam what r u putting in my boot and where are u taking it to? She pulsed for awhile said fridge, but won't disclose where she is going too. Me that like sleep grin I jejely active my sleep mood back. The next call I got from her was on a high pitch note "Where r u, I'm waiting outside". Me b like, ma! I don't know where u r going, I don't even know the litre of the fridge, if I park at the road while picking u and dose tow guys jump down, what will u do? Oga cancel the ride with harsh tones...

To d once after me, don't let any rider bully you, las las u won't sit and watch her fix fridge in and out of your boot, if the trip is 1k, that's probably what u may get, to them, they r doin u a favour.
How do she think fridge will enter the trunk of ur car even if its the smallest size of fridge, well except ur car is a matrix. That was how one yeye lady on 3.42* requested me this morning at Ebute metta. Immediately I accepted she called and started asking me where I was in a very harsh tone that shes late for her appointment and I replied with good morning am on ur street yet she didn't believe and she starting saying all sorts of rubbish as per that's how we all lie about our location. Immediately she finished ranting she dropped the call. I just jejely cancel I no get time for wahala today.

Long calls on the same line used for data while on Taxify trips affect the charges esp while on bridges like 3mb. It happened to me from Somolu to Lekki #1,600 and I paid #300 toll o. The wicked lady that I went to deliver a package for only paid me #1,600
The reason why trips fail most times is not always about the phone though cant be ruled out but can also be attributed to the undermentioned:
Network glitch: Always monitor and keep a close watch on your app either Taxify/Uber when on a trip so as to know when there's disappearance of network on ur phone. Its easier to detect on Taxify app cos of the message that will pop up in a box on the phone screen and when you see such you click dismiss.
Secondly, Never you dim your phone display light any time you are on Taxify trip either during the day or at night cos by so doing will cause the app to malfunction by distorting GPS functionality thereby making it impossible to capture some sensitive locations like the tolls and others.
Thirdly, be very observant when starting Google map on trips (Taxify/Uber) because atimes it automatically shuts down the app and you won't know. So always ensure that when google map is in use during trips your Taxify/Uber app is floating paripasu on the map.
Fourthly, Also try to monitor the GPS direction of your movements when on any trip so as to know when your GPS is losing signal or stalling. Never fail to do this when on 3mb. GPS signal of Uber is represented with an arrow while that of Taxify is a car. So always ensure they move in the same direction that you are moving.
Lastly, make sure you are using a very strong network e.g Etisalat/Smile

Your choice of words is too derogatory. No sensible cab driver including yellow taxi will embark on such a trip without factoring in other things. Its not all about the money u know. But sadly, drivers on rental dont see all of these because they are not responsible for after effect on the vehicle. Its also possible so many didn't see the post but even at that the money is poor. We live in a society where we easily conclude on people simply because we cant get them to dance to our tune. There are so many things that go with offline trips especially out of town ones. The ehailing coys that signed the drivers into slavery work are rather the ones to blame not the inconsiderste riders that will stop at nothing to further impoverish the drivers.
Tyche:
Forget these lazy driver way full here abeg, entitled lots they are. They will just be complaining of request up and down but will fail to make best use of the little opportunity available to them. They do not know that opportunity when is comes, does look like challenge.

This morning, I posted a not so attractive trip. Not because I can't easily get an Uber or a taxi to take me/us there, but because I want someone here to just benefit from what I wanted to do today, that's why I used brother in my post.

The guy that picked me today, we just booked hotel for him sef, him no fit drive go house, that's aside the money he made. And it continues till Thursday when he will drop us at the international and local airport respectively. But a lot of people passed it by because it's not what their lazy imagination wants.

A lot of drivers in Uber and Taxify are phucking entitledled; Fahrenz and dru23 we're right after all.

There is something you aren't telling us here. Uber can't just block an account without any evidence of fraud or any other irregularities. They probably must have flagged ur account in the past consequently issuing you a warning in that respect but yet you remained adamant. Just look for an alternative las las u will be fine.

Strictly offline with better money o cos you never can tell if you will have to do a total overhaul of ur car suspension after the trip.
Oluwabengz:
And if u didn't make it out of there before night fall, you risk been rob in traffic...mile2 to Okoko traffic is known for that. I almost got robbed in Alakija traffic last year. it was one Military guy that was in the third car before mine that confronted them and they eventually flee. U know the funniest part is that, after they flee, we later heard they went like 100 to 15m behind our vehicles and started the robbery from there again. People ran towards us with stories of how they got robbed inside their vehicles.

If I wanna take a trip to Ojo, it must be strictly offline and I will be going through Agege, Egbeda, Igando to connect Ojo no matter where the rider's pick up location is grin

Last time i took a rider to lasu ojo.. i charged 15k offline from yaba and i dint get any request back until i got to nnpc road idimu axis

I took the long free route from ajao- idimu road - igando - lasu

Before then i took a request from chevron drive to lasu .. pickup around 4:30pm following 3mb to oshodi entered thru cele okota road to burst out at nnpc idimu road llinking to igamu down to lasu... omo i just shook my head i pity only to end the trip and saw #7200 around past 11pm .

That s my worst longest and time wasting trip within lagos burning off my full tank to half tank
Its totally not worth it going to that axis online. I can remember when I went to Lasu last year online from second round about lekki through cele-canoe- idimu -isheri road, only for me to get to Lasu ended trip and it displayed 6k+ immediately my morale dropped. The most annoying part of it was that during the trip, the yeye rider that suggested that route was just complaining that the trip was taking too long and they are running late for their meeting and this was the period that the festac route was nearly impassable. After dropoff I decided to chill for sometym before blowing empty to Afolabi, egbeda, igando axis so as to get a trip but after about 10mins a request came in on Taxify with 15mins pickup time but I no mind, at all at all bad pass. Called rider and she said she was at okoko going to Surulere. When I heard okoko, I almost wanted to decline. When I finally got to my rider after manoeuvring through the worst roads in Lagos, she was very happy and confessed surprise that she finally got a driver stating that they hardly get cars over there when they make requests. Trip read 4,500 at completion and rider paid 6k!.

What's freaking wrong with a ride request to Ojoo? Are some parts of Lekki/Ajah not more terrible than Ojoo? Abeg make we stop all these forming things
Bros, why talk as if you are new in this game. There's everything wrong with Ojo in fact the whole of that axis. How many ehailing cars do you see in that axis anytime you are there. Apart from the traffic jam constantly been experienced there you also have very deplorable roads to contend with and also the menace of highway robbers and a lot more to contend with. No sensible ehailing driver apart from a newbie that values his/her time will accept a trip to that axis.

What is e-hailing turning into? Everybody wants to ride on Uber and Taxify smh. How can one drive a distance of 800m for a pickup only for the trip to be less than 1km and if one keeps cancelling Uber will come with their wahala. Uber and Taxify has to increase their fare on short trips. These days nobody wants to enter Okada and keke anymore or even trek na Uber sure pass especially when trip estimate says between 500-600.
