Gawd! I no fit laff. |
It has never been a good idea to marry and stay around your family talk less of living in the family compound. Extended family members spell trouble. I wish the man had not exposed his wife to such violent death by hanging around his family. He should have taken precautions to ensure his immediate family lives in peace after the first clash. He was inactive and has paid the price for his redundancy. |
I was called First Lady (was first in everything). By the time I became senior prefect, it became Iron Lady cos I was too tough. |
Serah oooooo. I beg you don't keep me waiting o. Update fast abeg. |
I doubt I can lay a hand on any Dan Brown's book at the moment. Read Da Vinci Code but twas borrowed. Let's read something by Ludlum, Grisham or Sheldon. |
Abeg Nairalanders, no kill me wit lafta o. |
lat4real: Abegi leave the story that touch, are you trying to say it's only men that do cheating? instead of you to condemn the dastardly act... anyway i wont be surprised if you are a woman.I'm not saying its only men that cheat, I'm simply saying that a cheating man poses more danger to his family than the other way round. Listen to people's stories and you will realise this fact. |
Cuddlemii: YOU ARE RIGHT!Abeg give me all. I wan take all do combine. BTW, thanks. |
Tusky44: Keep dreaming while we keep on with extra marital affairsDreaming? On the contrary, my view is as real as it gets. You are the one living in dreamland if you think there is no price to pay for infidelity. Keep on gallivanting, when the results come calling, do not complain. |
Great! Definitely watching.... |
When married men are adviced to steer clear of extra marital affairs: they laugh and claim it is a man's world forgetting the likely danger they may be putting their families into. My sympathy goes out to the innocents who have borne the result of their father's misdeeds. Stories of wicked mistresses abound but will they ever listen? |
DG, blame the parents who abandon their ward's education to only the teachers during nursery and primary school years.Blame the irresponsible secondary school teachers who do not teach well. Blame the lecturers who just don't care whether the students are doing well or not. Blame the poor educational facilities and the great gap between private and public schools. Above all, blame the students who refuse to learn to achieve good grades and speak well. Heck! it's an all round blame. |

Arrrrgggg, gossips, gossips! *wailing with hands on head* What thread have I gotten myself into? |
Fellow members, as is necessary with most things human, I think we should have some rules governing this thread. 1. Paramount should be the appropriate usage of English. (tenses, etc.) 2. Abbreviations. (full words with correct spellings should be encouraged). Op, the above are just suggestions. Others can be added. |
Im in. I support that we start with The Brand of Cain by Larry-Sun. Currently reading it. Also Red Mosquito's African Nerd should replace Tamsho's. |
Im in. Pls go to the main thread and post this link. |
Definitely interested. What's the next step? |
OP, have you opened the threads? If yes please post the links |
LOL. Make I just laugh. Madness International. |
This is the first time I'm learning of this myth. I show babies the mirror all the time. Never gotten any negative reaction from them either. African life is so steeped in superstition, I do away with them as much as possible. |
Though I don't support indecent dressing, I think the writer is poking her nose into someone else's business. Two adults out of their demented minds have decided to conduct themselves in a way they deem fit, that should be nobody's headache. Tribe's got nothing to do with misbehavior, its an individual thing. |

#80million:Why are you always speechless? |
Ok, didnt see the above post by Larry Sun. It explains exactly what I was thinking. @Larry, that's the problem. We need her permission if we should go ahead. If the op doesnt show within a given time frame, I suggest we do what we must pending when she shows up. |
Thanks cuddlemii. Your suggestion simplifies things. To build on that, I think we should divide the three groups into Nigerian, Foreign and others. Others being books from other African Writers e.t.c Or the groups may be divided according to genres like Larry Sun suggested. |
Someone is not being entirely honest here.OP, forget emotions, actions they say speak louder.Putting up his baby mama's pix on the wall shows there is more than a surface connection. BTW, telling you he has a son may not really spell honesty. A player's first motto is; never hide whatever you know she can find out by herself. Followed by; there are degrees of truth, use the one least likely to cause damage. So don't be taken in, use your feminine intuition and your brain. Double check things and build a true picture of the situation.Don't be taken for a ride when you could have prevented it. |
She is probably not a psychophant. |

Serah, I must commend you on this story. I like your narrative style. Simple and straight to the point. I'm definitely following but I must point out what nobody in all the comments I've read has pointed out, that is in your use of tenses. I notice that most Nigerian aspiring writers have problems with this issue. Please maintain the narrative with a form of tense you are most comfortable with. You are narrating in the past tense here, but you veer off to present tense, especially when describing or when your character goes into monologue or ask questions. This is not right. e.g serahsadeiyare: Part EightIn bracket should have been: "What was with her parents? Why couldn't she have a car? Everybody she knew had a car of their own." e.g 2 serahsadeiyare: Part SevenIn bracket should have been: "She was still contemplating if she wanted to go back to Amina hall or move to one of the hostels outside the school's premises, She had to look for a considerate one in terms of fees." There are many, but two is enough. It doesn't make for an interesting read if you are a seasoned reader or a writer, leaves you speaking the correct tense in your head while reading. I hope you are not angry. Just my observation. You can toss it if it doesn't mean anything to you. I'm still definitely following your story. Kudos and peace. |
La Bonito: see question oo, you asked for my number nanot me o. hope it ain't your real no. |
OP, do we need to hijack this thread from you? Wake up! Peeps are losing interest. |
