Please if you are a May/June/July/August applicant and even before those months, share your profile if you haven't so we can finalize timeline of CIC event. It is holding true so far that within 1-2 days is biometrics call, after 8-9 weeks, review of eligibility started, 10-12 weeks medical call, 12-14 weeks decisions are handed out. Granted there is a few outliers outside of these schedules. The validity of his passport determines the length of his visa. Let me rephrase, if his passport has one month validity, CIC will issue one month visa for him.

And when he applies for renewal at NIS, he will be issued a new passport and NIS will render the old one invalid.

Do you get the point now? The decision is his to make.
being invalid doesn't mean the visa there is not valid. He or she will only need to carry both passports ('invalid' & new) . You can easily get your new passport stamped in Canada to reflect the expected validity you are supposed to get. It's never an issue whether the person choose to renew passport now or not

you didn't get him or her. The person is asking how to pay the application fee of CAD100 not tuition.
@Ormohlawlah, most bank cards are automatically activated for international transactions , though some need you to tell your bank to activate them

Ok Noted. But why the delay in student permit applications in Nigeria? As we are aware, some peeps on this thread have applied since may/June, and they havnt gotten either an approval or a refusal.. So I believe it indirectly affects Nigerians..
This kind of conclusion is hasty. You saw clearly in what you attached where it's explicitly stated that it can only affect applications made within Canada. Abi Nigerian applications fall within ones made inside Canada? Nothing concern a Nigerian with Canada post.
I'm surprised you still believe the bolded when you have said on numerous occasion that people have been getting decisions but haven't been coming out with it.
We are all tensed, but we should avoid speculations.

It was not specified, so it applies to both Paper and online...
Canada post has nothing to do with applications made outside Canada. So e no concern Nigerians

find out whether your bank has a daily limit on dollar transactions that's less than CAD 235. If yes, look for a bank with no daily limit and use it. I know of first bank.
Beware, scammers will be contacting you to help you pay. Don't let anyone put you in trouble as they use stolen cards to make such payments which might later haunt you.
Do it yourself

An immigration lawyer will always advice you to reapply and by so doing, the deputy high commission will decline the applicant. What beats me the most is someone came here saying that ban can be overturned after a procedural fairness letter has being served to the applicant. I wonder where this moniker got this information. Well, I will take it as sleep of tongue or a maybe a typo.

The applicant is certainly free to reapply, but he should return here to tell us about his scores.
I don't really know where your" know all" disposition is coming from. You haven't seen to you translates to it doesn't exist, come off this high horse and leave your opinion as a suggestion, not a fact.
Someone told this house he had same ban issue and was overturned, yet you doubted him. Your doubt doesn't take his TRV away.

Frankrobbn1:
Bans can be overturned after serving an applicant a procedural fairness letter? Let's be realistic here. How many have you seen that was overturned?
I need to ask you, out of every applications for TRV, how many do you see or hear about? Your conclusions shouldn't always be drawn on few cases you see. In probability, sample size has an effect on margin of error.
I wouldn't have taken up this issue if you have said that your assertion is based on cases you've been privy to

Who told you he wasn't served a procedural fairness letter to explain himself prior the ban? Please let's stop giving people high hopes here, the young man was given a 5 years ban and I don't think he can do anything to avert it.
You make too many categorical statements on this forum. Not taking anything away from you but always end your statements with a caveat that it's just your opinion and not a statement of fact. This guy you quoted gave his suggestion before the applicant came out that he was actually served procedural fairness letter.
That said, bans can be overturned

You are saying nonsense and the moderator of this thread should block you from dishing out wrong information! How and why will VFS drop an applicant's documents via paper route when the bag that is issued with your documents is sealed and handed to the applicant to submit at a different section of the VFS office? If VFS takes out people's documents, they will have been sued long before now! VFS is simply an outsourcing firm that handles visa application submissions, and transmits those documents to the Embassy! I have gone through the paper route twice and not a single document was dropped! Who are you that we need to know on this thread? Are you a Visa officer? Even your application can be rejected! Who even told you that the VO's at Nairobi are Indian-Canadians? Do you know any of them? Have you met any one of them? For your information I also follow an Indian thread like this and they equally have countless stories of rejections too!

There are better informed folks on this thread like frankrobbn, jnywua, mcobex etc, and when either of these folks make mistakes in the information that they pass, they admit it! Don't come here to misguide people by sharing "hear say", information!
I actually held myself back from going all out on the guy. I haven't met a person with so much delight in dishing out falsehood as the guy and yet he wants people to believe his "in-house" jargons

MeinKampf,

So far, How many online applications have you seen that was processed at Abu Dhabi and Ankara? Nobody is playing a guess work here. The simple fact remains that most online applications I have seen are currently processed in London, minority goes for Lagos. It was at the beginning of this year when some applications were treated at Turkey and Dubai not anymore.
You are still repeating the same thing, this time around emphatically. Let me ask you,do you judge by only the number of applications here on nairaland?CIC reserves the right to process your application anywhere.
At the bolded, and how many percentage of total online applications do you see? It's good to give a guide but not emphatical statement that we aren't privy of

jnyuwa02:
Sometimes the online profile updates has a mind of its own and change arbitrarily or not change at all when it suppose to change. If I were to take a good guess though, your review of eligibility started and It was forwarded to a VO who decided they needed to vet something else further before he/she can make a decision. So your file returned to the vetting department.
With the bolded you sounded like someone that had worked at CIC previously. Nobody can guess how these lads do their jobs

Frankrobbn1:
Online application! Send it to Lagos and London visa offices. These are the offices in charge of online applications.

All the best!
You guys are doing a great job here but I'll like to implore you to refrain from these kind of assumptions.
While majority of online applications from Nigeria are processed at the bolded, the list is not exhaustive as pockets of online applications are also processed elsewhere like Abu Dhabi and Ankara. I'm saying this because a lot of people access this forum and take the information absolutely.

1. A letter of support from the company stating they are sponsoring you and the amount they will be committing towards it. they should also state of you will be promoted on your return or the post you will take up (not too important but I will advise they say it)
2. Statement of account from the company
3. Leave letter for the duration of your program
Then on your part, include your employment letter, payslip, ID, your own statement of account (not too important in this case since your company will cover all expenses but I will strongly advise you include it even if the money in it is small)
@jemba73, in addition to these documents, you can add board resolution extract where the decision to sponsor you was taken

Currently he has almost 7m in the Account that has a closing balance of 4K but someone said they wouldn’t check the balance just the statement I submitted and I am really bothered as they might consider as insufficient funds. This is so wrong unless we don't understand what background check actually means. Are you saying that CIC will discard all the checks they've done on people's profile prior to today? Only mode of update changed not the process
