Ebukax:I just registered |
Olawrites:congratulations bro. The first one is the hardest |
Touchypro:tact is an English word |
shotanny:You can buy reviews, promote on social media etc. I don't do those and can't say anything about it. Whenever I stop getting orders, I just focus on my other businesses until it comes around |
Amhappy:"I don't like going to church very much". "Hate" is a strong word/language and not politically correct. A die-hard church fan might find me using, "I hate going to church all the time" offensive. So always use politically correct words/sentences unless all your target audience hate going to church. |
jonextee:Tact simply means skill and sensitivity in dealing with other people. Do you know why you prefer a particular speaker more than the other? It's simply tact. The popular "I have a dream" speech by Martin Luther is not famous because he is the first person who said what he said in that speech. It was famous because of his delivery. He had the skill and the sensitivity. Same with Obama. Same with my old Parish Priest (I don't like going to church very much, but I can willingly stay extra time whenever this reverend father is preaching). NOTE: I used tact in the sentence in the bracket. Can you point it out? With tact, you can say anything you want to say and have people clap for you even if you are speaking against them. So for you to write an email, you must first of all have the skill and sensitivity to understand who you are writing to, what tickles them and use it. "The point is, as a producer, there are two things you take seriously: making awesome beats and getting them heard by the right people." Of course, every producer takes the above seriously and that's you being sensitivity to their needs. Now skill comes in in how you use it, how you say/write it. Now, I could say, "I know you love making awesome beats and getting the right people to hear them", it's engaging —but not enough. Tact makes a copy awesome. It makes it lose blandness. Sometimes I spend hours researching on the best way to say a line I want to use in an email. I normally do this for the first few paragraphs. PS: There are many other lines in the email sample I gave earlier that employed tact in their execution, you could point them out. If you employ tact in your email copy, your clients will not only accept your work, they will also do this.

Hustlersdiary:what did he do to you that you want to deal with him? You can still make peace instead of dealing with him. Stay safe |
Olawrites:I started when I was serving. I go to my PPA every day. I now run a brick and mortar business which I run every day. My point is, if it's important to you to you, you will automatically create time for it —at least that's what I do. Afterthought: in Venzal's last video, he told a client he can't do more than 7 emails in a week. Find out what works for you; increase your turnaround time, create a framework for the email you are writing so it will be easier. Lastly, you can outsource. Whenever I get more than 6 to 10 emails in queue, I outsource. |
Meklex:While I wait for venzal to reply, here's what I do before/after a client places an order —I ask for 3 things: 1. Website/competitors website 2. Target audience 3. Email objectives. These 3 things are all I need to write an email. Also, you need to ask for any additional information from your client such as his ideas, major pain points etc. My research process is the only tedious part. I will visit clients' website, then visit the competitors website and other related websites. Then I always use this keyword on Google; "why you need to use 'client's product' ". With this keyword you will get lots of information on Google about the clients' product/service. Then, I normally write my emails following this blueprint; Problem, Solution, CTA. I always employ TACT while writing especially the first paragraph. In fact, the first paragraph is the most important part of any email I am writing because it sets the course for the rest of the email; and if you get it wrong, chances are you will get the rest of the copy wrong. MODIFIED Let's go back to TACT. If you understand this, you have understood almost enough to write email copies your clients will love. Here's the truth; everything that can be said has already been said. There's nothing new under the sun, so there's literally nothing new you can say in an email. However, you have an ALMOST unlimited power on HOW to say it —and that's where tact comes in. Always wear your target audience's shoe; find the most common problem they face and dramatize it. It always gets their attention. To give a face to what I just said, here's an email I wrote for a client who wants to sell email lists of recording artistes, studios, etc to music producers. There are infinite ways to say this same thing - find the most engaging way to say it

I see a lot of people rushing to create their Upwork profile. Creating a profile is secondary —you need to learn how to write first else you will get frustrated. You need to practice as much as you read/study. That's the only way to learn effectively; learn and practice. With the permission of Venzal, I can drop some of my old clients' requirements (one requirement per week) and you can attempt it. This is my earning so far this month. I have people (Nigerians) I write salescopies and ad copies for at 20,000 naira for 500 — 1000 words. That is to tell you that your target audience are not only limited to oyibo people. You only need to learn and practice. Even me still dey learn, that's why I always come here every day.

To support what Venzal said in his last video; always ask questions and be positively pedantic. It shows you off as an authority in your field.

Any updates on this? |
You are racist |
Graduated 2015. Did my NYSC in 2016. I started looking for ways to be self employed during my NYSC. I found MMM, Fiverr, KDP, Mini Importation and Cryptocurrency and they have all been a blessing to me |
Macgyver1:no |
Scammers are on the prowl for ordinary 10k. 10k o. I wonder how some people think. In 2017, I sold my Payoneer card for 20k thinking it was big money. I still regret it till today. You will surely regret this stupid move of yours years later |
WalkerMichael:I dey o. We all experienced the purge. My first account was disabled in 2018 with 400+ reviews. I opened another one immediately and I have done close to 1000 jobs on it. I don't know if this is true, but I opened different accounts back then and when Fiverr disabled my first account in 2018 I just continued with one of the dormant accounts I opened in 2016. I am thinking for the fact that it's an old account it has more leverage to rank compared to newly opened accounts |
WordsWriter:for example; "minimalistic logo tells - in few strokes - a lot about your brand more than "whatever" logo could ever tell in a lot of unnecessary strokes. The above example is not researched. For you to make such statements as above, you should be sure that it has a lot of backing from the professionals. You could write, "blue background logo is this and that" source Photoshop inc. Then you continue, "what the above means is that, if you have been using other backgrounds for your logo, you are definitely not getting the type of clients your business needs" The above is true (if it's true) and will provoke your gig visitors to want you to give you a job. The above is just an example and not researched |
shakyum:Description —what you need to do is to study other gigs on logo design. Write down any points in their description that catches your eye (because that's exactly what will draw your clients' in, your reviews and portfolio too), then rewrite those points using your own words. PS: I have find that writing argumentative kind of description sells. Since I changed my description two years ago, clients come in to debate it with me, I end up convincing them. Also, dramatize the benefits of having a good logo. It took me a week to write my description, so spend time here. And when you get it right, you will know. Copy the tags of high ranking gigs. Change your gig image to something customized. Have the best samples of your work readily available and bid on on buyer's requests (if you have the feature) Advertise your services to people on Quora, LinkedIn, twitter etc. (I no do this one sha) |
OYENIYIJK:I started with $5, then $10, now $20 for an email copy of 200 words (at most). Everything depends your skill and confidence level like Venzal mentioned. For me, I learned on the job so I wasn't so confident I could do it back then. But now, I am thinking of increasing my fee to $30 at least (for one email). So, the first thing to do is to learn the job, and you can slap $100 on your basic offering if you wish. |
FESTAC101:yea |
Venzal:this was made possible because I read your thread 4 years ago. Thanks boss ![]()

where are you in Awka. I am at Amaenyi |
zionmde:lol, this is the most hackneyed taradiddle I have ever read. Judas was used because the scripture must be fulfilled. There are so many other greedy fellows, why Judas? That's because God has destined that for him, it's not random. He was fuckin' chosen by Jesus himself. Talking about choice and purpose, we don't have a choice. At least, God didn't leave us with much choice when you consider the concept of hellfire, that's not choice. When your employer tells you that you are free to leave during work hours, but you don't have to come back ever, he is not giving you a choice, he just didn't want you to leave, but he only used fancy words to say it. That's the kind of choice God gave us. |

another proof of the barest minimum |
Whatever you do, don't buy Tecno or Infinix. |
I just read the title of this thread and immediately knew it's either Tecno or Infinix and I wasn't wrong. |
This picture only succeeded in showing us how much better Xiaomi —and maybe iPhone— will capture this same scene |
