We may not have a Messi or a C Ronaldo, but i hate it when people refer to Super Eagles as underdogs, cuz that is a flat lie. They are not underdogs anything. Please can someone with brains do a good analysis of our players. We are not underdogs, Please. |

We are always having problems with our fullbacks. While won't Rohr play 3 at the back, there is something fishy somewhere. |

zoboizee: Guys cheer up! They can't give what they don't have. We all know the potential of each player & as a team. They will be back soon. The current super eagles have nothing special to offer. They neither have the skill nor flair. Lower your expectation about them. Don't give yourself high BP over their matches. Watch their matches, laugh at their flaws & if they ever score a goal if ever, rejoice with them. Can you imagine, just listen to yourself. So a team that has the likes of Victor Moses, Ndidi, Balogun, Iwobi, Simy even Ebuehi has nothing to offer, well, you have freedom of speech and can say whatever comes into your mind. Let us remove sentiments and conduct a reasonable analysis of our players. Tactics and the deployment of personnel at wrong positions is poisoning our play. |

People are mean. Gernot Rohr used the friendlies to discover our weakness and then deployed it. He might have gotten another juicer coaching offer, and is looking for every opportunity to be sacked. |

Icon79: Frankly, this team is NOT as bad as people make. it out to be. The team just needs a few minor tweaks to become great. Here are the keys:
- Play 3-5-2
- Move Mikel CM
- Play Iwobi AM
- Move V. Moses LWB
- Ebuehi RWB
Our best line-up should be;
Troost- Balogun- Ogu (or Awaziem)
Moses - Mikel - Ndidi - Ebuehi
Iwobi
Iheanacho - Ighalo (preferably Simy, but Rohr might want Ighalo)
@ tbaba, could someone please pass this info along to Gernot Rohr or any member of the technical crew? They are not picking my calls any more
O pari This analysis is top notch. My reverence for you on this thread is adding in leaps. |

ChrisKels: This man left out some good players so that he takes his boys to Russia. A country that has a defense wrecker like Onyekuru is finding it very difficult to break a defense from the wing side.
If onyekuru was a Belgian, I doubt Thorgan Hazard would have made it to Russia. But down here, a wannabe Tactician with no clue whatsoever is grossly under rating him hence left him out of his 30man squad.
Rohr should be sacked even before we play Croatia Thank you my brother. His decision not to take Onyekuru to the world cup, got me suspicious of Rohr's tactical nous and eyes for quality. Rohr is a good coach but i will give my final analysis of him after the world cup. |

After some bits of good research i have come to conclude that the best option we have going foward in a 3-5-2 formation is pairing Simi and Musa. Moses should never be played as a foward if we truly want to maximize what we have in him. Ogu is a better as a midfielder, but looking at what happens to our defense when under preasure, his composure, grit, positioning and an uncanny ability to read games will stabilize the defense and bring about a smooth transition from defense to midfield without us having to lose ball possession. Ogu should be part of our 3 man defense, but i prefer him as a midfielder. |

Simy is our biggest threat going foward, i prefer him to Ighalo and Iheanacho, he is the kind of striker that we need and will do wonders with Iwobi as the AM. Believe me he is more of a threat than Victor Moses. I suggest we pair him with Victor Moses in a 3-5-2 formation, that is, if Moses is not played as a WB, or with Ighalo. Looking at a our squad depth, it is best if Victor Moses plays as a wing back. |

MetalJigsaw: Onyekuru game changer? on what premise?? You may not have seen enough of him in the GWG because of a very little game time, but have you seen him play in Anderlecht? Haven't you noticed the coach's reliance on him He gets all the blame when they lose because of what the coach is expecting his impact should be, even when he comes in as a substitute. That guy is tangibly prolific. |

MetalJigsaw: And you think Rohr will ever play Mikel from deep?
Aside from that, If you take a good look at Iwobi's performance when saddled with the responsibly of the 10 role. He now and then sends wrong passes than land directly into an opponents feat. He makes awful mistakes in the heart of defense. He doesn't have that ball holding ability that Mikel possesses. We all see how he (Mikel) stubbornly holds onto the ball even when sandwiched between to opponents, practically by putting it between his feet. And forcing them to commit a foul on him. Mikel is too matured to be withdrawn from such role especially in our first game. Mr Jigsaw you are a very good analyst, i am just trying to proffer some sort of recommendation to the midfield mix to add fluidity, flair and dominance, It is not entirely out of place to feature two AMFs with Ndidi now playing behind as a cover for the defense. Apart from Mikel, who else is more technical and a better passer of the ball than Iwobi |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 1:36pm On May 29, 2018 |
MetalJigsaw: I think Iwobi is only good for the bench, as far as I'm concerned The guy never mature reach. Our midfield is bereft of technics and creativity that is why i am endorsing a trio of Ndidi Iwobi and Mikel (aka N.I.M) with Mikel and Ndidi playing behind Iwobi. Iwobi has shown to be more lethal and powerfully clinical when played as an AMF. |

TheSuperNerd: It could be our own Busquets-Iniesta-Xavi or Casemiro-Kroos-Modric combos.... this is no hype. The possibility is right there in front of us. Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobi could be a masterclass against opposing sides.
And with that kind of midfield, I will go with an attack of Iheanacho (WF), Victor Moses (WF) and Ighalo (CF).
I tell you, this could be our killer card right here... but.... *shrugs* Replace Iheanacho with Henry Onyekuru in that attacking mix and witness fluidity and class like you have never seen before in the SE. |

OMANBALA1: I was able to watch the match between Nigeria and Rwanda and to be honest there is nothing worth writing about. It was very amateurish and boring. Somebody said Nigeria was playing a compact midfield and I almost died. Maybe its the issue of blending well and understanding each other but their individual quality is in question. From Okpotu,Rabiu, Ogbuh ,Osas etc were lackluster. For Gods sake most of these guys are in their late 30s. They have nothing more to learn, bad habits are hard to break. What you witnessed yesterday was a typical Nigerian league with a little more passing of the ball and calmness. Tells you were we are with our local league. The match was like the training session of a third division club, with the coach testing out new recruits. (Sorry i no watch the match sef) |

The way people were pushing for Iheanacho's move from MCity to LCity that's the same way they are now pushing for Musa move, forgetting that Iheanacho's move made gave him more experience in bench warming. I advice them to fight for their place rather than being nomads in search for greener fields. |
