LOVEALAIGBO:
Akin to a daft and selfish father with hungry kids at home who lack school fees to return to school. Then one day Dad comes home with a new set of threads and a silly look on his face! And when he's asked by his long-suffering wifey to explain himself, he says he has to look good to project the family in a 'positive light' to the neighbours! You couldn't make it up! sad

PS- For those who don't get the analogy, i'm alluding to the stupidity of going on a flight of fancy....ie, building a multi-billion dollar coastal road when decrepit and dangerously failed roads exist all over the country!

They make more money starting new projects and quickly get the approvals they need - Versus them having to explain why previous contracts failed.

Romance / Re: Men Can You Marry A Lady With Too Many Tattoos: see picture by MemoriesAndMe: 6:04pm On May 09
Tattoos do not define who a person is. Someone without tattoos can be more dangerous than some with so many tattoos.

What if she's a tattoo artist and needs to promote her craft with her tattoos?
If you don't like tattoos, I'm sure there are several men out there that will love her if she has a pleasant personality they desire in a woman.

Business / Re: Binance: Nigeria Setting Dangerous Precedent For Firms By Detaining Executives by MemoriesAndMe: 3:47pm On May 07
Mynd44:
Binance should have told the American government the same thing
American government didnt detain Binance executives - they had problems with Binance and sued Binance, not executives that only came to represent them.

Nigerian firms too send their executives to other nations, do they get kidnapped and jailed there? It doesn't make any sense at all. If the country has a problem with Binance, sue Binance, not hold individuals on hostage because you have a problem with the company they work for.

Choice of words is key. No one can be deported from one state in Nigeria to another state in Nigeria.

Deportation is when people have to be sent from one country to another.

This man has been in this 419 business for ages!! Always finds his way out.

There was this news back then when this man was arrested and was supposed to be in jail. He was seen spraying money in parties. So, obviously someone else represented him on his prison terms while he was out flexing.

This man is different from regular small 419 boys wey dey hustle just to buy Benz abeg.

Na same brain wey Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg etc get wey him get, but how he chose to use his brain is whats difficult to understand.

What kind of useless lie is this? undecided

Person wey get 250k to pay per annum go come live under bridge?

They probably pay per day after hustling. I think I read somewhere that that's how prostitutes pay for the brothels their customers meet them at. That adds up depending on how long they stay there. No sane person will pay that lump sum at once for a slum.

Why are you worried about someone else's health when you have yours to worry about? Have you even completed checking everyone in your home to see who is losing or gaining weight?

Pastors pray and fast often, couldn't that be a reason? But how is that even ur problem in the first place to start a topic about someone that isn't even related to you at all?

May God keep all of us very very far from people like you with your monitoring mentality. Minding your personal business is obviously one of your problems.

Can you give a brief explanation of what each of the platforms is for specifically

I think a simple Google search of each should explain what they do to you. You can then buy courses online for each from sites like udemy and learn whichever area you want to learn. OP already gave the hint and isn't obligated to explain them when Google is a free research tool available to everyone.

Education / Re: Aisha Yesufu- nigerians In The Diaspora Are The Most Foolish Set Of Nigerians by MemoriesAndMe: 8:37pm On Apr 27
There is a limit to what Nigerians in diaspora can do in Nigeria in the current state of the nation, and even under Buhari.

Nigerians in diaspora tried their best to make changes during the last election, but were then handicapped by the Abike Dabiri led Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).

NiDCOM will never allow any groups of Nigerians in Diaspora to be registered in Nigeria and other nations unless they disguise the names.

Several groups of Nigerians in Diaspora with intents of participating or contributing towards the last elections weren't even allowed access to the constitutional freedom of association, couldn't even open bank accounts where others in support of the movement could deposit funds to to support better governance.

NiDCOM was used as a weapon against Nigerians in Diaspora before the last election. Some groups even sent representatives to Abuja to ask NiDCOM to allow them their rights to freedom of association, be registered and to maintain bank accounts to run their organizations with, but were denied.

Diaspora voting was crippled by same NiDCOM and no one in diaspora could vote unless they flew to Nigeria to vote. So, that effectively crippled all Nigerians out of the shores of Nigeria from participating in the last election.

Thanks bro for this eyes opening advice.
In a non shell, one should just say back home if he can cater for himself n family.

Little wonder why some people Pity those who sell their properties to japa to start afresh.

Yeah, it's actually a mistake for many to sell their properties in Nigeria to leave the country when many they're going over their to meet are struggling to build or buy one in Nigeria.
Travel / Re: Nigerian Couple Buys A House 2 And Half Years Of Moving To UK. by MemoriesAndMe: 11:24pm On Apr 26
Hezzyluv:

Enlighten us to learn.

"Buying a house in cash" is different from "Buying a house on mortgage" in a foreign country.

Mortgage is the beginning of slavery for many people in western nations because they usually end up paying way more than the worth of the house with the high interest rates involved for multiple years.

That's why a lot of diasporans envy those in Nigeria that managed to buy or build their houses with their own physical cash or investments not those that simply think "buying a house in cash" isn't different from "buying a house on mortgage".

Huge difference bro.

If they bought the house in cash, congrats to them, if it's on mortgage, then they just traded years of their lives to pay up the price of the house and the house still isn't owned by them, it's owned by the bank that financed them, not them.

Even if it's just a 30 year mortgage, pay mortgage for 29 years and 6 months and you can't afford the remaining 6 months, the bank has the right to evict you and resell the house to someone else and start the process all over again.

Many spend their entire lives abroad paying loans they can never pay off,Same with leased cars, jets, helicopters, yachts etc. All of them can be bought on credit in Western worlds and I believe everyone that has any experience around what I just said can attest to that.

So, buying a house or cars in a western country isn't something people usually brag about when it's on loan because it's like "borrowing" the house, car, helicopter , private jet etc from the real owners - the banks and finance companies.

I know of someone that "bought" 4 houses on mortgage in the US and after the 2008 real estate crisis in the US, all 4 houses went under foreclosure and the next step was to file for bankruptcy.

It's great news if they bought their house without any loans from banks, that's what I meant.

When people buy houses in Nigeria, they pay cash and it's theirs for life.

Celebrities / Re: 'Pity Men': Williams Uchemba Laments Outfits Women Wear To The Gym by MemoriesAndMe: 2:35am On Apr 26
This is a wrong notion. Some gyms have built on a model that accommodate each gender and separate them while they're working out.

Why should a man trying to gain weight be looking at someone's wife that's trying to lose weight because they met at a gym? Everyone should feel free to just do their exercises and go home.

That's why there are several "only female" gyms in Western nations, unfortunately randy men will be waiting for them in the parking lot, making the ladies uncomfortable to return to the gym.
Family / Re: Why Do Some Men Demand Intimacy before helping their Brother's Widow? by MemoriesAndMe: 7:35pm On Apr 25
I think it may be ok in some cultures as that's what they generally believe in. Otherwise, why would a sane person leave all the available women in the society and decide to focus on a dead relative's widow?
Celebrities / Re: Davido Spoils His Wife, Chioma, With Wads Of Dollar Bills Ahead Of Her Birthday by MemoriesAndMe: 6:41pm On Apr 23
Funny enough, spraying dollar bills in Nigeria isn't illegal. Canadian 1 dollar is a coin, so in parties in Canada, Nigerians spend USD bills and no one gets arrested. So anyone that wants to spray at parties in Nigeria can spray dollar bills and EFCC can't do anything to the person.

During my time in Junior secondary school as a Gen Z student 🐰, I had an older brother in SS2, who effectively deterred many troublesome seniors from bothering me.

Exactly what happened in my days in school. I think every family deserves to have one crazy person among them.

From a family of 5 boys, 4 of us dey gentle, one of us be the crazy one with his crazy friends. Always fighting to defend defenseless people for streets. He never smoked, never drank, just had natural madness from heaven and never took cheating from anyone.

All of the bullies will avoid you when dem know say one of your siblings na the popular crazy man with crazy friends for town.

Plus, our schools were close to 3 popular barracks wey boys in our classes get military mentality like their parents. Police barrack, army barrack, Air Force barracks surrounded our schools and their kids were our classmates.

Before anyone start bullying anyone in school, all the barrack boys go rush am at once. Even if na one barrack boy want turn bully, the other barrack boys go reset him brain.

Barrack boys no dey take nonsense, so all man dey respect demselves.

Oh wow! Thanks for shedding more light. I never heard of him until reading this. I don't understand Igbo and what he's singing, but he seemed very confident of his craft.

Was he like a one-man singer or he had a band? He seemed to be the only one singing and playing the beats in this video.

Okay the DOP and director wear life jacket. Their life is more important to them and they can't provide the life jacket for everyone boarding the canoe

Exactly.
I think the producers / directors of the said movie should be sued. It doesn't even cost much to rent life jackets for everyone on the boat, why risk the crew's lives by being so cheap?

These types of neighbours full Abuja.

You'd live in a compound where you wouldn't know your next door neighbour's name or what he does for a living.

Sometimes it can be as bad as not greeting/ talking to each other and no be say Una dey quarrel oo.

I no know who introduced this Yankee bs here. angry

It's not "Yankee BS", it should just be normal way of life. Who has ever benefitted from pokey neighbors? If your neighbors don't want to know you, why must you be worried about knowing them? Are you all related in any way?

Several people live in estates to avoid unnecessary familiarity with people around them - a different experience from living in face-me-i-face-you types of places on the streets where one random person will just come from no where begging for Maggi, salt etc because of see finish.
