Hello mama plz something is disturbing me oo..as a first time mom when is d right time 2 start feeling baby kick and movements... Am 20wewks gone and haven't heard d baby kick...is it something I should b worried about....Feb mama in d house have u started feeling baby's kick?

Well i feel flutters and tummy rumbling . I dont know if that’s the baby kicking but im guessing so. I hear with time it will be more intense and obvious

Good morning mamas! Hmm.... Allah gives and Allah takes! Am hurting sisters, am really hurting but who am I to say no when God has decreed a thing.

I went for a second opinion and truly my baby is no more. IUFD(intra uterine fetal death) according to the two scans. Remember when I was 6weeks n went for scan, they said d fetus is sharing same space with a submucous myoma,apparently the fibroid grew big and kind of suffocated the fetus.

Alhamdulillah for the experience,after 8yrs of trying I was able to carry a child in my womb for 19weeks, I know am not barren and this just proves it.

Greater things ahead for me, will look into how to get rid of this fibroid then I will try again, I won't give up. I need all d prayers I can get from u all as I go for evacuation.

I love u all and wish my lovely team mates and all wonderful mama safe delivery. N one will suffer any loss inshaAllah. It's well with u all.

I went to hospital after work and they did scan n d senographer said the baby is no more and we have to evacuate. I am so not myself and I don't know what to do. My elder Sis said I should go for second opinion. Pls mamas pray for me let my joy not be cut short. Ya Allah

Congrats to all the mamas that have put to bed. Good news everywhere!! Pls mamas,am yet to go to d hospital cos of some certain circumstances.

I woke up with a little cramp and when i went to pee i noticed very light pinkish discharge. When i was having my bath,i wiped again and it was a clear reddish discharge with mucus. I dont know if i should be very worried. Am going for scan soon.

Im sure its nothing to worry about, i also spotted around 10weeks or thereabout. But please go to the hospital and have a scan done ASAP. It is well with you and your baby. Awaiting the goodnews

I heard from mamas when we were in calabar that Afang soup is not good for TTC because it makes womb hot to hold baby, that I better eat editan which cools the womb but I don't know about eating Afang when one is pregnant.
The best deal is to avoid it or eat a lil since body and pregnancy differs you know but me I switched to Editan since then and Atama, I haven't tasted Afang for 4 years now.

OMO it was Afang soup i ate and i started purging non stop for 2days and i really panicked.. i had to do a scan to be sure all is well with my princess. Since den i just keep the soup for one side.

Good morning mama's. I've been offline for days now cos I'm having issues. I've cried, prayed to my father in heaven, assured myself God loves me and i know all will be well. I was feeling feverish, so i had to go to d hospital, i did a test few days ago and the doc said I have malaria. I was given some drugs and was asked to come for my first scan the 2nd day cos I've registered for antenatal.

On the 2nd day, i told the sonographer i'm ecpecting twins and he laughed, I said I prayed to God for twins and I believe I'm carrying twins. It took the sonographer more than 30mins to finish d scan, dh was with me and he was worried, I knew i had issues when the sonographer started asking me questions like, do you bleed? Did u spot while preggy? Were you having back pain? Hmmmmmn. I said NO. No spotting, No backache, I only have cramps. He said okay.

Then, I noticed some things. Dh and I saw 2 babies in a sac, then the sonographer didn't say a word. He showed me just one active baby, he showed me his fingers, the umbilical cord, my placenta etc. Then I saw another baby that was inactive again, the guy didn't say a word. Hmmmn. Then he clicked on the baby and I saw 12 weeks and 4days, then he clicked on something and I saw 6 weeks and 2 days. Then I became scared and confused but I still don't understand what the problem is.

On our way back to the hospital reception, I told dh my observations, he said he noticed some things too. He said I should go to d reception that he will ask the sonographer some questions. Dh came back with a red eye and fake smile, he started googling some things on his phone and I became suspicious. I started crying, dh said all is well (with the fake smile o).

It was time to see d Dr to interprete d result, dh asked d Dr what is the cause of vanishing twin baby? Ha! That was how I started crying, I cried and the Dr and dh said I shld calm down. The Dr said for now there is nothing they can do, I will have to repeat d scan in 4 weeks time. The issue is my 2nd baby wasn't breathing, he's 6 weeks+ and my other baby is 12 weeks +. Then I have fibroid, a big one. It was detected same day. So my 2 babies and the big fibroid are all in my uterus, no wonder my Belle is big. The fibroid is not gIving my 2nd baby space at all, that's why he's not breathing.

I'm emotionally down, dh sis who is a medical practitioner have referred us to an experienced gynae in a general hospital. The gynae said he has years of experience but has never heard of twins growing seperately, that twins grow togeda. I'll be seeing the gynae for another scan this weekend.

I want my other baby active and I pray for a miracle....can he still breath? Will he be fine? Has anyone had same experience before and willing to share? I'm so sad.

Be calm mama, the same God that gave u dese wonderful twins will see you through, just take your matter to him and trust me your babies will be fine... dont loose faith

Yea thats why its not visible. Lekpa shandy. Im a lot better o, just that baby will not allow me rest small, i get hungry everrrryyy time and its making me eat a lot. I dont want to be too fat o

Yayy!!! We are having a princess,thats awesome . I have not seen mine o,dont know what d sonographer was saying dat i should wait till am like 5months. Will go and check somewhere else when am 20weeks.

Scan i did on friday showed am 17weeks instead of my 18weeks,so we are like 1week behind. Not feeling d braxton stuff,fingers crossed!!!

Im sure if you go somewhere else now, they will be able to see the sex if Baby cooperates. My own scan is 1week ahead and my bump is now over visible. Anyone that sees me can tell im preggy. No braxton hicks yet, no movement either. Cant wait

team February I need prayers as I'm already tired and too weak. I was hoping m.s will stop at 14 wks but this is 17 wks and I can barely go a day without vomiting. infact as I speak to you I'm hospitalized due to excess vomiting. I may have no choice but to quit my job.

So sorry teamie. The lord is your strenght. This too shall pass. Please don't quit your job just yet. Take leave or something. Kpele my dear. You will be fine

When I was sick, I was severely dehydrated from vomiting and purging and my baby's heartbeat was disturbed, not till I took 2 pints of normal saline did they actually hear a strong beat.
Dehydration affects them biko, get some fluids pumped into you.

I had a scan done, and was told baby is fine and even reading 18weeks 4days wereas i was 17weeks 5days den. Im happy now. Thank u

Instead of worrying go do a scan please! Sometimes it happens like that sha, you will feel "unpregnant".

There is nothing wrong with your pregnant. You just feel light because of the purging. Make sure you drink water very well and go for scan immediately to give you the assurance that all is well.

Possibly, i was worried purging affects it. Lol dont mind me, I really appreciate these responses, i feel a whole lot better now

See ba, when I was 7 weeks i was always worried because the symptoms reduced or so, in fact I was a champion 'worrier' despite being a faith warrior, I ended up doing like 5 scans for 7, 9, 11 12, 13 weeks respectively b4 I booked for proper ANC. I did twice sef at week 9 because i finished at a lab and my obgyn then that was giving me progesterone shots asked me to come and in His office, he just decided to do a scan, I felt guilty o like i was disturbing the foetus, 2 ultrasounds in one day , worrying is nor good o...sometimes I feel like baby isn't there anymore but anytime they scan me, we see the 'nwa baby' playing drum even though I wasn't feeling the movement then but the foetus was always jumping and somersaulting in the crib.
So my sisters if you feel like something's off, just go and check so you'll be calm and reduce high bp, but I know your babies are fine by His grace so don't overdo it. It shall end in praise.

Hmm...teamie I don't even know what to say to u to calm u down. Am in d same shoes with u and I carried my panic attack enter here and mama BlessedDiva calmed me down.
I think this 2trimester have a way of making one worried and paranoid. Even me my bump has reduced in my eyes. I just tire. But it's well with us, maybe u can go for scanning. My next visit is on Friday. I greet everyone.

Few days back i purged badly, that painful type for like 2days and ever since then, i havent been feeling pregnant. I dont even feel my baby in my tummy anymore. Its like my uterus is now free and my bump is reducing. I dont know if i am just being paranoid as there was no single drop of blood while i was purging. Should i be worried?

Thrice daily is needed to boost your pcv quickly. In pregnancy is usually twice daily and once when not pregnant.

If it is then i don't think it's bad though don't have much knowledge about how dey handle pregnant women but my younger Sis former office registered their staff there so she used them once when she was ill and she commended their services.

Praise be to God as most of us are now in the 2nd trimester!!! 15th,16th,17th,18th week. Wow! how time flies,just like yesterday it seems d Ms and nausea wont end but now we are perfectly managing it as there is little or no trace of it again.

Most of us should have started antenatal now and taken our first TT injection. Hope we r taking our supplements regularly too and also fruits and veggies? very important.

Any movement from Lo yet from anyone? Me i have not started feeling o,but i guess there is still time. May God see us all through to the end and may we have a supernatural delivery. Mummy alive,baby alive and Daddy alive with plenty owo,kudi ,ego .

I wish all preggy mamas on this thread a successful delivery,those who have birthed their los may God give u the strength to take care of them. And our GTC mamas God is not asleep,as He has done for us i know urs is also on the way!! He will do it!!

Im just most grateful that MS is becoming history. I registered for Antenatal yesterday and had my first TT shot too. Please who has tried Limi hospital Abuja? How is their service like?

So I've experienced vaginal birth and cesarean birth and if I'm to compare I'll say both are fine. In my honest opinion the difference is in CONVENIENCE. The 2 births tamper with a woman's body so what's the big deal.
Firstly, During labour in my first preggie the pain was outta this world the only thing is its a one time pain, you face it squarely and it goes away almost immediately after delivery.
Secondly I ate anything I wished to eat after delivery
Thirdly, I had a warm shower as soon as I got to the maternity ward
Fourthly, I started using my hot tummy belt and snapped back to my figure in no time
Fifthly, my mum was only able to do omugwo for 3 weeks so when she left all work fell back to me again, cooking, chores, baby, et al. I was strong and could lift things here and there. The list is endless

However for this 2nd delivery Firstly, after the anesthesia wore off pain was also quite unbearable for me, (if you read my 1st birth story you will understand) however so far I'm recovering fast. Pains are still there but I'ts being managed with pain relief
Secondly, I couldn't eat what I wanted. According to the Dr my system had been tampered with and need little time to adjust,air had entered my body so they needed to be sure everything is functioning properly before I can eat all I wish for. So it was strictly fluids to start with, followed by soft meals, then Solids. I actually wanted tea, fruits, pepper soup amongst others but that wasn't possible immediately
Thirdly, I have to just clean my body with warm water and napkin to avoid water contact with the site.
Fourthly, I won't use hot belt however I've been assured I'll still snap back to shape in no time.
Lastly, no lifting of objects weightier than my baby till at least 6 months post partum, anyway this won't move me to get a house help, others did it and survived so I will manage myself.

Now if I'm to choose between vaginal birth and cesarean birth I'll choose the first, both were painful to me although I was able to tolerate labour pain better than CS recovery pain.
So I'll choose it because of my pain tolerance and convenience after delivery. I pray a VBAC works for me in my next missionary journey by God's grace.
But if a repeat CS is the best option then I'll gladly go for it. Remember the most important thing is that mom and baby are alive and healthy

Early August I saw that I will deliver via CS. there was this soft voice telling me that it will be the best option out.
It was as if two minds arguing but one was calm and saying prepare ahead spiritually financially and emotionally.
I told dh and he countered it, started blasting in tongues. Please don't get me wrong I believe in the Christian faith strongly but I also ACT. I prayed for God's will to prevail while I prepared my mind ahead for both procedures.
I cannot comman lose my precious gift after pushing for 8 months. Lots of moms had rejected CS option and seeked opinion elsewhere. Vaginal birth was successful for some while for others their babies where already in distress and they lost them. Prayerfully commit every option you choose to God and it will be successful

Honestly if genuine posts on nairaland GTC, PREGNANCY & NEWBORN THREAD are to be converted into a book I tell you it will be a best seller! Although not every information here is 100% true but majorly these are live experiences and people's testimonies but unfortunately it's a faceless forum so anything is possible, good, bad and ugly.
Special shout out to seun for creating this forum though you're making your dough but I'm drawing your attention to the lives these 3 threads have been and is still saving

I pray God visits all the GTC moms soon, you are all fruitful I tell you therefore go forth and multiply. You will all carry your babies.

I just checked today o at 15weeks 1day. I went for normal scan to check if all is well o, only for him to ask me if i want to know my babys sex and he told me i am having a chic plus i heard her heartbeat. I cudnt control d tears

B.S CONTINUED, i was the first to be operated on, was scared when dey wanted to insert the catheter i thought it was painful, not until i was given injection on my back to numb my waist to my leg, while operating, the doctors said the baby was breech why wld d scan not detect it nd dats why d baby didnt come nd if i had waited till 43weeks i wld ve wasted 9 months of pregnancy nd i wld not ve pushed dat baby is xo big, after the operation den i started feeling pains, my baby was 4.6 kg, the nurses had to take him to teaching hospital for general check up cos dey want to knw y he is big buh at the end he is fine to the glory of God. am in my recovery phase. i omitted so many things sha. B.S submitted.
